In early 1993, a hostile observer might have had grounds for thinking that the Unix story was almost played out, and with it the fortunes of the hacker tribe.

Hacker Hero

How would a healthy,
confident nation,

a nation that loves sport..
how would it react,

hearing that some young hacker
had penetrated 34 was it,
of its most secret websites?

It would say, thanks pal
for showing us our weaknesses..

and by the way, there’s a job
just waiting for you in the counter services..

of course, it would have helped
if he’d been American – he’d have hired PR,
positioned himself as hero; spun the story,
said, I did it for our great nation..

but if he’d been let’s say Russian
or Al Quaida… perhaps we’d never hear
from those red faces at the Pentagon..

So let’s praise the hero hacker
(who by the way, didn’t sell
the info on, to let’s guess who…)

and by the way, you can bet
they have their own guys, highly paid
to test defences by that self-same method..

doesn’t every sport hone its talents
by competition? Oh, c’mon on guys…

Where Am I Going

Where am I going
From where have I been
The road is so lonely
No people I have seen
My old friends
Have all gone far away
To find their fortunes
In cities they say
Their memories still haunt me
Every step that I take
I’m left wondering what my future might make

The dreams of being famous
Fade like the setting sun
The fortunes that enticed me
Entice me no more
All that I wish is for my youth to return
Back to my childhood, my home by the sea
To the friends I once knew and games that we played

Bookworm

There's a story that like a dessert I love
And I enjoy every page slowly as much as I can
There's story that makes me desperate
And even my day becomes gloomy after I read
There's story that safe to be read anytime
And I don't mind if it's going up or down
There's story that could burn me to the core
And left me with desire to create another story
There's story that easily predict
And I could finish it without much thinking
There's story that has a very good cliffhanger
And I need to rush to the publisher to make it comes fast
There's story that goes like my dream
And I want to repeat over and over until I'm getting bored

I'll Be Thinking Of You

I’ll be thinking of you
In all the hustle of Christmas day
I’ll be thinking of you in all I do or say.

I’ll be thinking of you
Each time a song is sung
I’ll think of you each time
A Christmas bell is rung.

I’ll be thinking of you
In this hot Texas weather
I’ll be thinking of you
And wishing we were together.

I’ll be thinking of you each time
I hear “A Blue Christmas” being played
I’ll be thinking of you
When new Christmas memories are being made.

I’ll be thinking of you when I read
About how our Saviour came
And because of that first Christmas night long ago
Our lives will never be the same.

I’ll be thinking of you
In the glow of the Christmas lights
And I’ll be hoping and praying
You have a Christmas of white.

I’ll be thinking of you
Each time I see an angel on a tree
And I’ll thank God he sent
Someone special, like you, to me.

A You Who

If there is a little man
that lives on my shoulder
and tells me 'no' when
I am tempted,
then why sometimes
I don't hear from him
when I need him most?

If there is a angel bright
who leads me at all times
to the light
then pray tell
how did I end up here
in the dark?

If I am the observer of all this
then why do I not convene on this
a conference between the two?
And lets include the Devil too
for he surely has a role here too.

At the conference I say:
'Now listen angel and little man
what is going on here?
What good are guardians who
go AWOL
at precisely the wrong times?
What guide is this who abandons
the trail when danger looms? '

The angel said in her defense
said, 'I do speak out but you
close your ears
I yell, I scream, but to no avail.
Hoarse, I give up thinking the little man will take over.'

The little man said 'I am thinking the same thing
except in reverse.'

The Devil lounged in the back ground and said nothing
until I accosted him and asked 'What is your story? '
He stirred slowly, saying 'Story I have none, but I will
comment upon the obvious truth here.

You are part them and you are part me.
And each time you hear those voices
mine and theirs
it is you my friend that is making that choice
don't foist it off on them and me.

'I' I said outraged. 'I am the cause of all this?
'Yes they all said. 'Because in fact, you are the only one in the room.'

We are just people you made up to remind yourself that you are you.'

Dysfunctional Dance

Dance, dance, all you want
I'm changing the tune, my stomach is in knots.
I'm free of relating to you this way
I was really was on the very first day.
I should of trusted my gut
but I gave a lot of buts…
But o.k. I will rationalize
that I can put myself last or on the side…
Not thinking twice or thinking it through
Feel like I should be guilty when it was really you.
Trying to be nice, me not making a fuss
you played your games and lost my trust.
I should of wrote the note early on
got it on the table so you would be gone.
Now there is not much you can do
except be accountable for your untruth.

Observer

OBSERVER
I’ve been an observer all my life,
of middle class, wealthy and poverty’s strife.
I’ve been an observer of child abuse, love and loyalty,
Prejudice, betrayal and myths of society.
I’ve observed hypocrisy, mind games and planetary dream.
None of this has affected my soul,
duality has helped me learn and grow.
For God’s way will always be, just look at what’s not working in society.
It’s not man’s plan but God’ cosmology.

Just Keep Thinking About You

Alll......the time
Tell me why, just keep thinking about you baby
Tell me if you can
Why I keep thinking about you baby
Ain't at all like I just wanna
I just keep thinking about you baby
Lord knows I got things to do
But they are all neglected
Pushed aside by you
There is just no time
And my head gets crowded
Ohh yeah, you're always on my mind
Chorus:
Just keep thinking about you baby (day and night)
Tell me I (Just keep thinking about you baby)
There is no way
I'll stop thinking about you baby
You go with me day to day
I can't stop thinking about my baby
Just a simple story
About a lonely lady
Finding herself in love
And that is amazing
I won't be complaining
That means I would not change a thing 'cause
(Chorus 3x)
A happy ending to my story
And all because of you
You tell me that you loved me
And I believe you doo
I'm gonna be so patient
Baby just take your time
Our love keeps growing stronger
And stronger all the time
(Chorus 4x)

Thinking of you on your birthday! Leah :)

Another year another birthday thinking of you all day

Thinking about school the old times, the memories stay

Thinking about laughs and good times we had in class

Thinking about the joys of the past

Thinking of technology class and the time everyone loved the pizza man song

Thinking about XL and the day we did up the room with paint

Thinking about the time Verneita pretended to faint (LOL)

Thinking about the time we all got out of school early when it snowed and went up the golf

Remember the times we used to get in trouble and we didn’t even care sometimes I wish I could do it all again.

Thinking of you on your birthday :)

Once when I was in Hawaii, on the island of Kauai, I met a mysterious old stranger. He said he was about to die and wanted to tell someone about the treasure. I said, "Okay, as long as it's not a long story. Some of us have a plane to catch, you know." He stared telling his story, about the treasure and his life and all, and I thought "This story isn't too long." But then, he kept going, and I started thinking, "Uh-oh, this story is getting long." But then the story was over, and I said to myself "You know, that story wasn't too long after all." I forget what the story was about, but there was a good movie on the plane. It was a little long, though.

Fairytale Love Story

Jill, came tumbling down
At the bottom of the hill
Jack busted his crown
Ah, my fairytale love story
My fairy life
My fairytale love story
To get you off of my..
I got to thinking
Things arent as good as they can be
I got to drinking
The bitch is over the brink
The bitch is over the brink
Tommy prince, kissed a few there on the lips
She woke him with a cold sore, she aint so pretty no more
Ah, my fairytale love story
My fairy life
My fairytale love story
To get you off of my..
I got to thinking
Im not as sweet as them all
I got to drinking again
The bitch is over the brink
The bitch is over the brink
My fairytale love story
Ooo, my fairytale love story
Yeah, youre my fairytale love story
Ooo, my fairytale love story
The bitch is over the brink
The bitch is over the brink

Too late for amends

It is as though an unjust hand punished you
As if the Adlerian guiltless position in the constellation wasn't enough
toppling you from a pedestal

You were groomed for position
for heading a family
vacated by the head himself
out of time

So they protected you
pampered you
the custom required it

there were sisters whose dowries you were supposed to earn
there were grounds whose circumferences you were designated to crush
there were centuries and goals you were bound to knock with stick and bat
there were exams you were deemed to sail through
there were jobs you were merely to inherit on merit

The second son was sacrificed
He was too close a second
They turned a deaf eye to your sacrificial deeds
the suffocating cries

'Work on what has been spoiled by the father and the mother.'
-Hexagram 18-

Other hands worked on the second son
Other sacrifices nearly came to pass
Fierce jungles
swirling muddy rivers
stalking cobras
poisonous thorns
aboriginal hunters
even your suffocating arms to lock the broken neck
fresh from a hanging

These worked
where the mother and father failed
and instilled a wish for survival in your Abel

How could you be blamed for being the first born boy
if the second took longer to arrive
or instead came as a baby girl

Neither parent may be faulted
How could either have known or foreseen
Your traversing of the desert
alone
often in shame
in fear of being found out

You kept your back straight
You honoured your position
You wore that air of masterfulness
in your stride
in your respect for the meek for the fairer sex
in your willingness to come to the aid of the needy
in your alas mind's reach
bereft of the means to give it authority

In your own mind
you had wandered far
as far and beyond the distances of your strides
within three posts four walls open ground and air
you never bothered with approving thumps on the back
nor the little-watched heroic actions on some turf
nor did you recount these match-winning feats
in a thirst for applause

You were the quintessential sportsman
You played your last game alone
far away from your folk
You had no wish for a farewell

Yet you are mourned in pain by all

I hope that youve been thinking about me
Chorus
I hope that you have been thinking of me too
The way that I have been thinking of you
I hope that you have been thinking of me too
The way that I have been thinking of you
Pick up the phone to call you
But I hung up cause Im so afraid
Afraid of rejection
Or another woman in your face
Hopin all day that you would call me
And that youre thinkin of me too
Well in my case with the game of love
If I played I would probably lose
Chorus
I hope that you have been thinking of me too
The way that I have been thinking of you
I hope that you have been thinking of me too
The way that I have been thinking of you
I hope that youre thinkin of me
And I pray every night you love me
I dont ever want what we have to end
And Ill always be your friend
Dont you feel me calling from afar
If you dont know Ive been there from the start
As sure as my name is what it is
Youll always have a place in my heart
Chorus
I hope that you have been thinking of me too
The way that I have been thinking of you
I hope that you have been thinking of me too
The way that I have been thinking of you
Ooh, ooh, ooh....
I hope that you have been thinking of me
The way that I have been thinking of you
When I pray every night
That its me in your dreams when your sleepin
I really hope that Im the that youre thinking about
Yeah, yeah, yeah...
Chorus
I hope that you have been thinking of me too (I hope that, I hope that youve
Been thinkin)
The way that I have been thinking of you (all the time, cant get you off my
Mind baby)
I hope that you have been thinking of me too
The way that I have been thinking of you
See I hope that its you
And I hope that you are baby
Thinking of me too
Ooh, yeah, yeah...
See I hope that you are
Ooh, youre thinking of me
I need for you to think about me
Like I think about you baby
Yeah, yeah, yeah...
I hope that its you
And I hope that youre thinking of, thinking of, thinking of me too
