After all, we are not French and never can be, and any attempt to be so is to deny our inheritance and to try to impose upon ourselves a character that can be nothing but a veneer upon the surface.

Fundamental of Liar Chapter CXIII: Denial
Deny it with smile, deny it with silence
Deny it with elegance, deny it with distraction
Deny it with anger, deny it with challenge
Deny it with promise, deny it with comfort
Deny it with tear, deny it with emotion
Deny it with effort, deny it with cruelty
Deny it with forget, deny it with indifferent
Deny it with joke, deny it with lie

Never Deny You
All the love that we shared
Could never just disapear
And all that we've been through,
I believe in you
III, will never deny you..
III, will never deny you..
III, will never deny you..
III, will never deny you..
friend said to me one day,
I should just forget you,
But my experiance say
What we have is true
Judases, they will betray you,
Thomases, they will doubt you,
Peters, they will deny you,
but iii will never deny you,
All the love that we shared
Could never just dissapear
And all that we've been through
I believe in you
(chorus)
(will never deny you) I wil never deny you
(never deny you) III, will never deny you (deny you)

And a lesson in this movie is dig beneath the surface. And so with my words, with my character, I purposely created a character that was away from how you've known me thus far in my career.

Good Character
I once sojourned in a land,
Seeking for solution to my bewildermernt.
The more I probed, the more I was confused.
Why do some fail where others succeed?
I called upon the deep to open my eyes
Suddenly, I found honour as the offspring
Of good character,
I also discorvered that success
Is embeded in good attitude
I then concluded that:
Good character is the torchlight to our paths
Good attitude is like a garment we wear daily
Through which people measure us
It is the mirror of our lives
I now know that good character
Is the backbone of success
Your father may have plenty
Like the Altilantic ocean
Your mother may have fleet of ships
You may have great inheritance
If you lacked good character
Your success will be like putrefied eggs
People will run away from
Like an isolated leper.
So, in all your ways
Be of good character

No one of good character leaves behind a wasted life — whether they die in obscurity or renown. "Character," wrote the 19th Century evangelist, Dwight Moody, "is what you are in the dark." Your character is not tested on occasions of public scrutiny or acclaim. It is not tested in moments when the object of your actions is the regard of another. Your character is what you are to yourself, not what you pretend to be to yourself or others. Although human beings often attempt self-delusion, we cannot forever hide the truth about ourselves from ourselves. It will make itself known to us by means of our conscience despite our most strenuous effort to suppress it.

Any persons may attempt to unite kindred spirits, but, whatever their hopes and longings, none have the right to impose their vision of unity upon the rest.

Those Who Habitually Lie
Those who habitually lie,
Will try their best to decieve others...
With performances to convince,
That the ones unafraid to speak the truth...
Pursue the doing of it,
To purposely mistreat them.
By a direct use of honesty.
As if someone intentionally slit their wrists to bleed.
Those who habitually lie...
Seem to have a compulsive need,
To disguise a hiding of their acceptance of truth.
And character assassinate the ones they please.
Much disrespect is done to the ones,
Habitual liars attempt to project their pretentions on.
With facades of sobs and a childish innocence,
To depict themselves as having only sincerity meant.
That is quick to surface to argue against,
Anyone who dares to put a dent...
In a carefully charaded integerity,
Masked by a defense when offended.
Those who habitually lie...
Seem to have a compulsive need,
To disguise a hiding of their acceptance of truth.
And character assassinate the ones they choose.

As with all my work, whether it's a leaf on a rock or ice on a rock, I'm trying to get beneath the surface appearance of things. Working the surface of a stone is an attempt to understand the internal energy of the stone.

Resistance is feasible even for those who are not heroes by nature, and it is an obligation, I believe, for those who fear the consequences and detest the reality of the attempt to impose American hegemony.

Myself, I don't think you will ever get security in the Mideast until you have what on the surface appears to be fair to both sides. You have to have leaders committed to peace, on both sides. One side can't impose a solution.

Sweeping Under The Rug
Molestations have become the new rage,
To openly admit being committed...
In locker rooms, showers and on fields,
Of play.
Men with boys used as sexual toys,
Abused in the most perverted ways.
Lesbians and gays,
Have even become appalled.
Since their preferences,
Are not hidden behind pretentions.
With a doing as they please...
And admitting to sexual needs.
While those conducting themselves obscenely,
Secretly attempt to hide and deny...
Their own closeted homosexuality.
And those who seem surprised and disgusted,
By the revelation of these activities...
Are the ones who have had their heads buried in sand,
Doing their best to deny,
This existence they attempt to label as sick...
Is more commonly accepted as historic.
Although...
A sweeping under the rug,
Is still a preference for those who enjoy their dirt...
Covered up to maintain 'appropriate' disguises.
'Your comments are utterly disgusting.'
I know.
I do the best I can,
To avoid embellishing my exaggerations!
And by the way...
There is a spot you missed over there!

Questions to Ponder
When did I ever deny loving you?
Never comes to mind.
For to deny what's true is folly.
It's only for the blind,
those who wish that they could see
would offer me sweet sympathy.
How could I ever deny loving you?
Impossible comes to mind.
For to deny what has become my plight
I have left behind.
I have learned that all I know
meant not a thing until you.
Why would I ever deny loving you?
No reason comes to mind.
For to deny it makes no sense.
I will never let it unwind.
I will keep it wound deep in my heart
and I will never let it depart.

Ink (for Theresa Marie)
As I crease each page with the pressure of my point,
Cutting into the flow of each character,
I strive to lay lines to the surface of meaning.
I attempt to make sense of the flow of my thoughts
As I try to define with each separate line
The value that each gesture strives for.
I cut into pieces the correlation
Among the characters in my narrative;
Between scribing and feeling.
But this contradiction between purpose and process,
Between intention and muscle response,
Belies the nature of liquid.
For the amount of flow,
If nature has its way,
Is determined by the size of its reservoir.
So to finish my thoughts
In the context of language
Do I cede to the size of my pen?
Do I rely on the nature of language?
Or the language of nature’s mien?
