So I just took some time off. I was maybe going to do two or three years and it turned into five years. But certainly, I'd say it was the best thing I ever did. And now I come back to this whole thing really energized about it.

I CANT REMEMBER WHEN YOU WERENT THERE
WHEN I DIDNT CARE FOR ANYONE BUT YOU.
AND I SWEAR WEVE BEEN THROUGH EVERY THING THERE IS
CANT IMAGINE ANYTHING WE MISSED
CANT IMAGINE ANYTHING THE TWO OF US CANT DO.
THROUGH THE YEARS
YOUVE NEVER LET ME DOWN
YOUVE TURNED MY LIFE AROUND
THE SWEETEST DAYS IVE FOUND
I FOUND WITH YOU
THROUGH THE YEARS.
IVE NEVER BEEN AFRAID
I LOVE THE LIFE WEVE MADE,
AND IM SO GLAD I STAYED, RIGHT HERE WITH YOU,
THROUGH THE YEARS.
I CANT REMEMBER, WHAT I USED TO DO
WHO I TRUSTED WHOM ID LISTEN TO BEFORE
I SWEAR, YOU TAUGHT ME EVERYTHING I KNOW
CANT IMAGINE NEEDING SOMEONE SO
THROUGH THE YEARS, IT SEEMS TO ME
I NEED YOU MORE AND MORE,
THROUGH THE YEARS,
THROUGH ALL THE GOOD AND BAD,
I KNOW HOW MUCH WE HAD.
IVE ALWAYS BEEN SO GLAD, TO BE WITH YOU
THROUGH THE YEARS, ITS BETTER EVERYDAY YOUVE KISSED MY TEARS AWAY,
AS LONG AS ITS OK, ILL STAY WITH YOU THROUGH THE YEARS
THROUGH THE YEARS, WHEN EVERYTHING WENT WRONG,
TOGETHER WE WERE STRONG
I KNOW THAT I BELONG RIGHT HERE WITH YOU THROUGH THE YEARS,
I NEVER HAD A DOUBT,
WED ALWAYS WORK THINGS OUT.
IVE LEARNED WHAT LIFES ABOUT,
BY LOVING YOU,
THROUGH THE YEARS

Ready For The Real Thing
Dead on my feet -- got a deadline to meet,
But it can wait -- cant concentrate --
This one-track mind wont leave you behind
Why punish me with memories
If only now I could turn back the pages --
I played some games that Ive lived to regret,
I only wish I had gone through those stages --
Years before we met --
But I know
*this time --
Im ready for the real thing,
Last time --
I couldnt be true,
This time --
Im ready for the real thing too*
Turn on the light, Ive been tossing all night,
I try to read but its love that I need --
In my mind -- the sound of goodbye,
Keeps hauntin me like a distant dream --
If only now I could turn back the pages --
I played some games that Ive lived to regret,
I only with I had gone through those changes
Years before we met --
And baby
( * repeat)
This time --
Im ready for the real thing,
Last time --
I couldnt be true,
This time --
Get ready for the real thing,
Cause this time baby --
Im ready for you

Margaret Thatcher
Ethics detached from intelligence
(a dangerous thing in woman) .
She abused her education
by sunbathing her ego
in every passing neon light.
Because of this, in later years
she succumbed to a hoarse belligerence
(a dangerous thing in woman) .
This led to premature decline
and loss of the key to her precious memories
which was all she had salvaged from her good years
before her sycophants turned against her
in favour of a council estate boy.

Through The Years
Through the years, there will be laughter and smiles
Pain and sorrow too
But i will be going through it with you
Through the years, there will be road trips and vacations
Excitement and adventure
But the only thing making them enjoyable is because i'll be with you
Through the years there will be love and romance
Dinners and movies
But the only thing keeping the flame lit is our undying passion
Through the years there will be weddings and receptions
Futures and joyous memories too
But I won't forget the time when we said 'I DO'
Through the years there will be new life and happiness
Late nights and early mornings
But as long as we're by each others side, we'll be fine
Through the years there will be scraps and bruises
Band-aids and kisses
But we'll be there to help them up when they fall
Through the years there will be teenage rebellion and loud music
Fights and rough nights
But we said that no matter what happens we'll never leave each other
Through the years there will be sickness and disease
Doctors and medication
But we'll make it
Through the years there will be heartache and tears
Death and grievances
But I will hold your hand and help you through all of lifes fears
Through the years we'll grow gray and old
Our children will have children of their own
But know this, beyond the grave I will always love you

1000 Years
If only we talked it out a little more
You might never have gone away
If only I tried
Instead of making for the door
Youd be loving me still today
And if Id only been a little wiser
You knew I knew the lies you told
But you thought I didnt care
And if Id only shown my love
In so many different ways
If only youd stayed
And in 1000 years
Ill still be thinking of you
Though in 1000 years
My love will have gone
But in a 1000 years
Well probably be together
But right now youre gone
If only I had you back again right now
Wouldnt ask for a thing, I know
Except to say Im sorry, and how
And the wisdom to let it show
And if Id only looked a little deeper
Each time I saw you weeping
And how I wished I held you close
Cause if I only shown my love
In so many different ways
Baby youd want to stay
And in 1000 years
Ill still be thinking of you
Though in 1000 years
My love will have gone
But in a 1000 years
Well probably be together
But right now youre gone
And in 1000 years
(Ill still be thinking of you)
1000 years
(my love will be long gone)
1000 years
(well probably be together forever)
1000 years
(Ill still be thinking of you)
1000 years
(whaaa whooo)

That's the other thing about working on movies, the commitment is years. That's one thing that's so frustrating about the process is that it goes on and on and on for years.

New Begining Graduation
Having all these years behind us already
going on different trips thru
the years
but still here as soon as the fun ends
here we are again together
back to where we've been for 13 years
were getting closer and closer to the end
or is it the begining
working hard or slacking off
but in the end we're pushing ourselves
to the best finnish we can give
sad that we're seperating from eachother
happy the years are done tho
going out to a new adventure
we're probably not going to see eachother
for a long time
going out int the new world but in the end
we'll be back soon
going ot miss eachother
being in touch in some form
going to miss yuo and you
but now her where we've been trapped for so long
thank you for all you've done
yu've dictated our lives for so long but
also helped us so much to help us
pull thru
thakn you for every thing
soon we're off
here it is
reality,
graduation
and a
new begining

Time & Again
The sun brought me
The moon caught me
The wind fought me
The rain got me
The road sent me
For years bent me
The stars overwhelmed me
Time and again
But now I cant see the stars
The star is a thing I cant see
And now I dont feel the same
To feel is a thing I cant be
Earth crushed me
Fame brushed me
The streets hushed me
As life touched me
Time placed me
Events dazed me
Love saved me
Now and again
But now there can be no love
Love is a thing I cant be
And there can be no trust
Trust is a thing I cant see
But now there can be no love
Love is a thing that cant be
Now I cant be so strong
Strong is a thing I cant be
Time and again
Time and again
The sun brought me...

My body's feeling it a little bit. But one good thing, my back is in good shape, and that's my main concern. I know that my legs are going to take awhile to get back to where I was a few years ago, but as long as my back is solid, I feel that I can play many years.

One Thing Leads To Another
How many times have we
thought of one thing that led us to another
within our memory store.
We think of one thing
and our memory links us to another
that may have happened years before.
We sit for a few minutes
as our memory takes us on a trip
through the corridors
of our childhood many years before.
We remember moments
that delighted us at the time
before growing up
took those pleasures away.
Each memory hold a precious moment
we will never see again
except in our memories
when they will take us
down that road again.

Good Thing
The one good thing
In my life
Has gone away
I dont know why
Shes gone away
I dont know where
Somewhere I cant follow her
The one good thing didnt stay too long
Woo who who who
My back was turned and she was gone
Hey hey hey
Good thing
Where have you gone
Doo doo doobie doo
My good thing
Youve been gone too long
Good thing
Doo doo doobie doo
People say I should forget
Theres plenty more dont get upset
Dont get upset
People say shes doing fine
Mutual friends I see sometime
Thats not what I want to hear
Woo who who who
I want to hear she wants me near
Good thing
Where have you gone
Doo doo doobie doo
My good thing
Youve been gone too long
Good thing
Doo doo doobie doo
Good thing
Then one day
She came back
I was so happy that I didnt ask
Morning came
Hey hey hey hey
Into my room
Woo who who who
Caught me dreaming like a fool
Good thing
My good thing
Doo doo doobie doo
My my my my good thing
Where have you gone
Good thing
Doo doo doobie doo
My good thing
Hey hey my good thing
Doo doo doobie doo good thing
Girl
Where have you gone
Good thing
Doo doo doobie doo good thing
Its been so long
Youre gone again
Doo doo doobie doo good thing
Good good girl
Good good girl
Good thing
Doo doo doobie doo good thing
Good good
Doo doo doobie doo good thing
Good good

For me to go back and to play for audiences some of whom have been following me for thirty years and some who have found me in the last five or six years, that's really an interesting thing. I have an audience that goes from kids to seventy year olds.

I Am Told
For forty four years now
Each morning I woke up
I go straight to prepare
A cup of coffee for my wife
It's a ritual that I do
For forty four years
Not that she asks for it
But it's what I love to do
Love is what commands me
To lit a kettle to boil a water
For she likes it when its so hot
A coffee she drinks quite early
Suddenly, now that it's our anniversary
I do the thing I 've been doing ever since
We got married for forty four years back
Yet for the first time I am told just so today
That the coffee I served her now tasted bad

As If It Was Theirs On Demand
There is one thing I've learned,
About the use of my time.
I've learned through the years,
Not to let anyone abuse it...
As if it was theirs on demand.
And common sense?
Well...
I have discovered,
That it is not so common.
In fact the absence of it,
Can be expected.
And rare it is...
If it appears at all.
And the doing of something for others?
One should stop and think about that quick.
Since many people don't appreciate,
What it is for them that is done to assist.
Many will complain as if the time taken,
By someone who has gone out of their way...
Is not what they prefer.
They will have the nerve to say,
Something else desired...
Is what they deserve.
There is one thing I've learned,
About the use of my time.
I've learned through the years,
Not to let anyone abuse it...
As if it was theirs on demand.
And what I have chosen to do today...
Is to satisified and please my own thirst first!

Sweet Sorrows***************1978
we met many years ago
in a time which we forgot.
i had really loved you
but you had loved me not.
you had taken me for granted
and turned my love aside.
you said you could'nt love me
and turned and said goodbye.
the years have come and gone
since that heartbreak night.
now we meet again in a
swinging dicoteque with lights.
you see me doing the hustle
with all the girls in sight.
my back is turned towards you
as you walk out to the floor.
you walk right up to me
as i had done before.
the thoughts flash through your mind
as i laugh and say 'goodbye'.

I knew that people were going to talk about it, I knew it was embarrassing, and I knew it was a big deal. But did I think that it was going to be this thing that followed me for, you know, the next years to come? I guarantee you, 25 years from now, I'll be known as the girl that lip synced on 'SNL.' But, you know, it was a weird thing. Not fun.

Ain't No Nice Guy
When I was young I was the nicest guy I knew
I thought I was the chosen one
But time went by and I found out a thing or two
My shine wore off as time wore on
I thought that I was living out the perfect life
But in the lonely hours when the truth begins to bite
I though about the times when I turned my back and stalled
I ain't no nice guy after all
When I was young I was the only game in town
I thought I had it down for sure
But time went by and I was lost in what I'd found
The reasons blurred the way unsure
I thought that I was living life the only way
But as I saw that life was more than day to day
I turned around, I read the writing on the wall
I ain't no nice guy after all,
I ain't no nice guy after all
In all the years you spent between your birth and death
You know there's lots of times when you should have saved your breath
It comes as quite a shock when your trip leads to a wall
I ain't no nice guy after all,
I ain't no nice guy after all
Hey Slasher?
When I was young I was the nicest guy I knew
I thought I was the chosen one
But time went by and I found out a thing or two
My shine wore off as time wore on
I thought that I was living out the perfect life
But in the lonely hours when the moons the only light
I thought about the times when I turned my back and
stalled
I ain't no nice guy after all,
I ain't no nice guy after all

Poetic Swedes in Outer Space Sensation
Did you see today's news headline?
'Swedes Beam Poetry into Outer Space'
it takes 25 years to get to Vega
and the review comes back 50 years after writing it.
so get your kids to start right now
and in 50 years time the review comes back
when they're 60 years old
saying
'This poetry reads like a ten-year-old's...
is that the best you humans can manage
after all these years? '
