Sometimes one can be so closely involved with things that the larger context is lost to view.

I Could Have Chosen My Words
i could have chose my words
carefully
to please you all. I could have arranged them
the way you all want them
like the way you presented your points-of-view like the pillars
all aligned to the north star
the one that guides the lost ships
back to their comfort shores. I could have chosen the tone
and specified the context of my intentions. I could have set these words
in a musical scheme that pleases your ears while you sip your coffee
and had a good view of this world
amaze you with beauty and grace
like some well-sought and popular entertainer.......
but i didn't and i have long decided that i won't.
i have never been a pleader
and an entertainer i am not, neither had it become my cup of tea
to see to it that there is comfort in my house......
i am just being myself, and like you, no one pleases me too.

Whatever meaning 'Annie's Song' had for me on a personal level, there was also a larger context. It could just as easily have been about love for a brother. Or a father. Or a friend. It could just as easily have been a prayer.

Getting Slowly to It
Getting slowly to it
I saw her calling loudly
Mother! mother! i can't bear it
Is it walking so closely
Your voice has gone away
Lost in the world and astray
Mother! mother! i can't bear it
Is it walking so closely
You promised to take me
Didn't that seem noisy
Mother! mother! i can't bear it
Is it walking so closely
Let me cling to my old toy
With a heart leaping with joy
Mother! mother! i can't bear it
Is it walking so closely

Fixed As If Cemented
Those who remain with wishes,
To see things as they would choose to view them.
And not how things are.
Since things are the way they have been...
Unchanged and unbending.
Fixed as if cemented.
There is nothing to say,
To those like that.
Those who disbelieve,
Things are not as they are seen.
But 'should' be the way they would 'like'?
That is alright.
Do not frustrate in argument with them.
Your time...
Not theirs,
Is to mellow like fine wine.
Know this!
Others who have had these 'things'...
Just as they are and wish to leave them that way.
Defend their points of view.
Despite what it is you do.
Whether you condone what is done or not.
And it is difficult to get that across to some people.
But not for the few!
Who have chosen their own lives to live.
And have chosen to do the best they can...
To assist,
With any apparent awakening...
Some stand by and expect.
However,
If things as they are as observed are accepted...
By those affected.
And they wish things to be just the way they are?
'Left-a-lone! '
It is better to leave what is seen that way.
ALONE!
Turn away from it and live one's own life.
Frustration free and nurturing one's peace of mind!
Unless?
There is always an 'unless' involved.
Unless...
One has desires to remain in darkness!
And argue about the prospects,
Of a light that could shine...
Between two ears already known closed.
Optimistic people love the concept of options!
Although,
Some narrow minds will never open that wide!

Nearly None of It Has Been Applied
They were the ones who did not want to know anything.
They chose to be down to Earth.
Not trying to be too involved...
Or considered too concerned.
Not about 'worldly' things,
That is.
There is a comfort supplied in the not knowing of things!
Now they want to know what is going on?
And why things are the way they are.
And when are 'they' going to correct 'their' problems! ?
For them!
The ones who are satisfied in the not knowing of things!
You try to find answers for people like this!
But how can that be done...
When they've dismissed,
All opportunity...
To see things from an adult point of view!
But who knew they had no examples?
And they can not be criticized,
For quoting scriptures they've learned.
But like most things that they have learned...
Nearly none of it has been applied to their lives.
'Those people do that!
We don't do that.'
And all remain as ignorant as possible.
Since that is where they find their comforts!

Dwelling On Your Miseries
All I hear is what isn't,
From you.
That's all I hear...
From your point of view!
Have you ever considered,
Climbing out of your shell?
Have you ever thought about,
What for you goes well?
I can understand you
Having issues in your life.
I can understand that.
But do you appreciate those things,
That are right?
Dwelling on your miseries,
For the purpose to share.
Seems so self involved.
And when you expose that like you do...
You don't wish to have your problems solved.
You want them there to linger!
All I hear is what isn't,
From you.
That's all I hear...
From your point of view!
Have you ever considered,
Climbing out of your shell?
Have you ever thought about,
What for you goes well?
You are locked into a situation.
And approval from others you seek.
You want others to waste time as you've done.
Constantly picking your wounds to reopen...
To prove your are suffering to everyone!
I can understand you
Having issues in your life.
I can understand that.
But do you appreciate those things,
That are right?
Dwelling on your miseries,
For the purpose to share.
Seems so self involved.
And when you expose that like you do...
You don't wish to have your problems solved.
You want them there to linger!

Things I Have Lost
During my life I've lost many things...
I've lost my teddy bear
I've lost my blanket
I've lost my bottle and binkie
---------
I've lost my homework
I've lost my backpack
I've lost my books and glasses
---------
I've lost my keys
I've lost my cellphone
I've lost my wallet and my credit card
---------
But with all the things I've lost,
I've NEVER lost a person like you
and don't plan on it any time soon.

It Shows
Misleading others to believe,
Things that are not true.
Will never create a healing wished.
No matter what is done,
By those who do things like this,
When they do!
A lie is a lie.
No matter how small or tall!
An integrity of someone is involved.
And of course...
God knows the truth involved in it all.
And guilt self inflicted,
Isn't easy to hide inside those wicked.
It shows!

P.o.v.
From my 'point-of-view',
We all have the ability to reminisce.
We all have the gift to pick and choose,
From which selected memory to visit.
There is a choice involved...
That decreases the likelihood,
To stir up argument or debate.
Wouldn't it be easier,
When and if in conversation...
Someone announced,
'From my 'p.o.v.'...
This is how I perceive things to be.'
Opening the door to receive comprehension.
Without trying to convince anyone...
A 'point-of-view' expressed,
Is the best one anyone can get.
And at these prices,
Who can afford therapy?
Just say what it is...
To get it out in the open.
Allowing other topics to be discussed.
Why keep the fussing done,
Over spilled milk!

Larger Than Life
If you want to make believe
Theres nothing up my sleeve
Im a man as man can be
As you can plainly see
Dont want to see no tears
Eliminate your fears
When you think youve seen it all, baby
You cant believe your eyes, what you heard werent lies
My love is too much to hold, too much to hold
Much to much
Im someone you cant fight
Im plain in size
You cant believe your eyes
What you heard were not lies
Im too much to hold
I cant be bought or sold
Im far more than a man
Im gonna make you understand
Im larger than a life size man
And you cant believe your eyes, what you heard werent lies
My love is too much to hold, too much to hold
My love is larger than life, ooh larger than life
My love is larger than life, larger than life
My love is too much to hold, it cant be sold, oh no
You cant believe your eyes, what you heard werent lies
My love is too much to hold, too much to hold
My love is larger than life, larger than life
My love is larger than life, larger than life
My love is too much to hold, it cant be sold, oh no
Im larger than a life size man
My love is larger than life, larger than life
My love is larger than life, ooh larger than life
My love is too much to hold, it cant be sold, oh no

See it in the context.
A diamond shines when set in an ornament.
Taken out of it, its luster fails to impress.
Quotes read in the context get full value.
Jokes are humorous read with the context.

Sincerity Of A Chemistry
Because one is approachable,
Does not mean another is being chased.
Laws of attraction are in force.
Which, from a point of view...
There are two involved,
To introduce on this pursuit.
But if one becomes too self involved...
Believing the honey is kept,
In just one jar.
Well...
Eventually that one will know what is true.
When it is made known that a honey wished to taste,
Isn't worth the game played.
Or the delay that has been wasted,
The other believed they saved for a chase.
It's not all about the honey.
Frequently it's about the sincerity of a chemistry.
When that's in place there is no chase.

Look Me Over Closely
look me over closely
tell me what you see
the lady likes to look her best
before she pours the tea
you said I'm ????
that makes the evening sun go down
oh look me over closely
tell me what you find
but don't be over anxious
I'm not the marryin' kind
I'm a poor in a storm
you'll harbor where it's warm
in my arms you will hide
from the great big world outside
oh but when you come and see me
don't try to change my ways
you'll have a part within my heart
and there you'll always stay
there's room for all
not for all
but don't blame me
if you fall
so look me over closely
and then make up your mind
but darling please remember this
I'm holding you before we kiss
so look me over closely
because I may be the marryin' kind
oh well I may be the marryin' kind
oh well I may be the marryin' kind
oh
