Although Customs and Border Protection analyzes cargo and other information to target specific shipments for closer inspection, it still physically inspects only a small fraction of the containers under its purview.

I think it is important also to recognize that our Customs border protection officers who secure our borders and conduct inspections of people in vehicles and cargo are also facing staffing shortages.

Last year, customs officials screened only five percent of the 11 million cargo containers entering the United States. That rate is both unacceptable and dangerous to our national and economic interests.

The Free Trader's Lament
Oft from a trading-boat I purchased spice
And shells and corals, brought for my inspection
From the fair tropics-paid a Christian price
And was content in my fool's paradise,
Where never had been heard the word 'Protection.'
'T was my sole island; there I dwelt alone
No customs-house, collector nor collection,
But a man came, who, in a pious tone
Condoled with me that I had never known
The manifest advantage of Protection.
So, when the trading-boat arrived one day,
He threw a stink-pot into its mid-section.
The traders paddled for their lives away,
Nor came again into that haunted bay,
The blessed home thereafter of Protection.
Then down he sat, that philanthropic man,
And spat upon some mud of his selection,
And worked it, with his knuckles in a pan,
To shapes of shells and coral things, and span
A thread of song in glory of Protection.
He baked them in the sun. His air devout
Enchanted me. I made a genuflexion:
'God help you, gentle sir,' I said. 'No doubt,'
He answered gravely, 'I'll get on without
Assistance now that we have got Protection.'
Thenceforth I bought his wares-at what a price
For shells and corals of such imperfection!
'Ah, now,' said he, 'your lot is truly nice.'
But still in all that isle there was no spice
To season to my taste that dish, Protection.

Art of Border
It could be a shield, it could be a cage
The safety sealant, the tying trap
The filter line, the block wall
Border, border, border
The sacred culture, the love crossing
The moral limit, the emotion frame
The rule control, the life permission
Border, border, border
The friction fight, the freedom cut
The bond mark, the fence crack
The counter side, the edge of touch
Border, border, border
Can you keep it as promise
Can you bridge it by hope
The song from deserted corner
Border, border, border

What's happened with society is that we have created these devices, computers, which already can register and process huge amounts of information, which is a significant fraction of the amount of information that human beings themselves, as a species, can process.

Sometimes
This feels so right

And stop time
Then we could be together
All night
Theres nothing I like better

Closer, closer
Nothing, nothing
Nothing I like better

Nothing I like better

It's much more difficult to work on a broad subject than on a specific one, because even if it's hard to find the information, if you look hard enough for something specific you will find it, and you will discover things that you wouldn't have thought of before.

Bring On The Night
I lie in bed but baby I cant sleep no matter how hard I try
Theres something bad, baby, wrong with me whenever I close my eyes
The dreams of mary keep me awake with every little curve in place
When I walk home in the daybreak I pray come back home, baby, wont you give me
Darlin bring on the night, oh yeah darlin, bring on the night oh now darlin, bring on the night
I walk the street, Im lookin for romance
I end up stumblin in some stupid half-trance
As I watch the lovers mix with circumstance
We watch the disco dancers dance
I look for connection in some new eyes
But for protection theyre tranquilized
Forbidding close inspection of whos tellin who
Forbidding close inspection of whos tellin who lies
Bring on the night, oh yeah darlin, bring on the night
Oh now darlin, bring on the night
Is it as simple as it seems
I dont know what Im doin here, is it as simple as it seems
Is it as simple as I fear, well if Im right . . .
I look for connection in some new eyes
But for protection theyre tranquilized
Forbidding close inspection of whos tellin who
Forbidding close inspection of whos tellin who
Baby of whos tellin who lies
Bring on the night, oh yeah darlin, bring on the night
Oh now baby, bring on the night, oh now darlin bring on the night
Come home darlin, bring on the night
Oh now darlin bring on the night

When you're talking about cybersecurity, you're talking about being able to protect your points. It's not directed against a country, but to secure your points of access or specific end points or network access. It's not as though you're arming yourself against a specific threat — you're simply undertaking all aspects of protection.

Protection
Night after night
I keep holding on
You say you love me
Then you leave me so lonely
Baby, I dont believe a word
Youre sayin
I think its all some evil game
Youre playin
Still all day long all I do is think
About ya
You got me believin that I cant
Live without ya
Well if ya want it, well here is
My confession
Baby, I cant help it, youre my obsession
Protection, thats what I need
I need protection, baby from your love
Protection, thats what I need
I need protection, baby from your love
I wait at home by my telephone
When I call your house, baby
Youre not home
Knock on the door and rush
Down the stairs
When I open up, baby youre
Not there
When were together and ya put
Your arms around me
Your love sweeps away all the
Confusion that surrounds me
You keep my mind
Forever, ever in doubt
You want me believin
That baby, I cant live without
Protection thats what I need
I need protection, baby from your love
Protection, thats what I need
I need protection, baby from your love
We stand alone, at my window
And stare out, at the shadows
Down below
I feel your fingers on my face
I want to stay, I want to run away
Protection thats what I need
I need protection, baby from your love
Protection, thats what I need
I need protection, baby from your love
Protection, thats what I need
I need protection, baby from your love
Protection, thats what I need
I need protection, baby from your love...

Beings who Are That Powerful
Pols taken,
Like anything else isolated...
To target a specific audience,
Are done with specific demographics in mind.
To then suggest to a wider scope,
Of those easily provoked...
What the majority of people think.
When those in the majority are never shown,
Or known to be projected...
To be directed by a limitation that rates,
Subjectively...
To obtain an objective to control those,
Who are much more diverse in thought.
And the process of thinking.
Only those with pretentions believe themselves,
As beings who are that powerful!
However...
There are those who do deceive.
And have made doing this,
A privately controlled industry.
With influences that eventually self destruct.

Showdown At The Border
His necktie is bright red
From lookin in one direction
No flowerchild in his bed
Hes got oil well protection
Just had to be a blind dog
Chewin on everything
Took a slice of the blackbird pie
She began her singing
I know that your oil is black
But your dipstick is pearly white
Ten gallons on your head
That aint what I need tonight
Showdown at the border
Showdown at the border
Showdown at the border
The rendezvous was neutral
He dont want no gossip headlines
Her polaroid blackmail
He said,no way Ive had mine
Just too much for him to lose
Because of some cuervo passion
Cold, cold forty-five, answered in texas fashion
I know that your oil is black
But the dipstick is pearly white
Ten gallons on your head
That aint what I need tonight
Showdown at the border
Showdown at the border
Showdown at the border
Bright red went to his head
Tequila tension rising
This is no business for the weak at heart
This is no business for those with a
Nervous disposition
Tanned man from the f.e.d.s
Cool mohair buying off the squeeze
Showdown at the border

My God Is Special
I am physically blind...
But oh God, thanks be to you for your spiritual sight.
I am physically deaf...
But oh God, thanks be to you that
Iam able to hear your sweet, sweet voice.
I physically cannot speak...
But God, thaks be to you for knowing
And understanding all my needs.
I physically cannot walk...
But oh God, thanks be to you for leading
And guiding me in your righteous way.
Thanks be to you oh God, for letting me know
That I am special.
Because you are special to me.

But on closer inspection
and considered reflection...
It's a humdinger duffle bag.
