There is nothing quite so good as burial at sea. It is simple, tidy, and not very incriminating.

A tidy everything!

A tidy me a
A tidy you
A tidy clean body or soul
Is a tidy human?

No…

Four tidy bedrooms
A tidy lounge
A tidy kitchen
An evenly cut grass
An organised garage with a freshly washed car is a
Peaceful shelter?

No…

An eventful upbringing
A functioning family
A good manner scheme
Is a blissful gift?
No…

A perfect persons snap
An excellent picture?

No…
A well-educated father
A knowledgeable mother
A lenient couple
An ideal parent?

No…
An old man,
An old woman
A young boy
A child
A toddler
Age concern is it?

No…
A black girl, boy
A white girl, boy
An Asian girl, boy
A Chinese maybe even a mix-race
What does this matter?
It is a multicultural union.

Yes…

A graduate
A chav
A weirdo
A mad man
What does this matter?

Not at all…

Civilisation rolled in one piece - in our hearts, is what makes a single, a “WHOLE”
Not a flash motor or a colourful photograph.
Or a “Rich man” with golden rules!

Life isn’t a race
There aren’t any “winners” nor “losers”.

It is all a myth

Errr…YES!

For Joan Crammond

You told me last year - in between
doing all you could for others
in your state and at your age -
(and that meant working dawn to dusk, at least -
as you had done most of your life)
that you were 'tidying up'
so that your family would have least work
to do themselves when you'd passed on

And so, as just reward, death came to you
tidily,
neatly, smoothly, in your own tidy room

Just a few weeks ago,
when you had done a kindness
spreading word of my poetry,
I sent you a poem on
'A Reminiscence of a Great Lady'
and to my surprise, not just, from you,
a kind and tidy, just response,
but you were deeply stirred

Did you read in it, the great lady
whom we both had known and loved?
Was it what you'd always hoped to be?
Or did you recognise yourself in it - in full?

No need now to question.
No need, anyway; the difference
is not important in eternity.

Not so important as
a tidy, outward life. So,
that poem and now this
to you, for you

Perished

The wweapons of war have perished!
And now the testimony lay bare;
But of a self-incriminating fact to blow the whistle,
And we are yet to account for the dead.

The Simple Pleasures of Life

Going for a walk
reading a book
dunking a biscuit
in your cup of tea.
Soaking tired feet
in a warm bowl of water
having an early night
a good nights sleep.
Hearing a child's laughter
a letter from a loved one
listening to a favourite song
watching a really good movie.
Playing a sport you like
enjoying good company
being content on your own
making new friends.
Observing nature
walking the dog
being in a garden
smelling the flowers.
Simple pleasures
simple tastes
simple life.

Simple Things

simple things are the simple thoughts to a

simple man
like me

simple things like a coin where there is no face of me
or you
but it can buy me something to shame me of my
poverty and helplessness

a simple yawn
i haven't really slept
to the minimum that my eyes need

and look at these eyes
they are sinking to my sockets

a simple
word is all i need and i will always repeat it

'love'

'me'

this is the simple man, let there be no complications
about
spelling
or ethics

i am a simple man and morality is too hard for me to understand

all i ask is that you must

love me.

A Simple Poem For My Mother From My Mother

A SIMPLE POEM FOR MY MOTHER FROM MY MOTHER

All I am is a simple poem.

A few words in language
A child can read.

Simple words
Like my beloved mother
Of Blessed Memory’s Talk-
Simple, straight
Sometimes with quiet humor-
Happy trusting loving
And in intention
Good for the other.

The Family Room. For Mary.

You put up with it because
as tiresome as it is, and as they can sometimes be,
somewhere there, there's always love.

He may take interest
in something to be repaired
that's mechanical; and
there's cars to wash and clean,
hobby things to sort and tidy.

Some kids are good or disciplined;
but there's never quite the time
in their expanding world
for doing just what you do
for the house..

But in the human heart
there's this locked, dusty room - you haven't dared
to look inside for years - or indeed
since childhood, for some people -
full of junk, of cobwebs,
broken windows, their sashes jammed,
cupboards that won't open, drawers
whose contents stop them opening; even
the birds have stopped their nesting there;
a room of memories that whisper when it's dark

It's the room that's family.
And surprise - the light still works..
A family can sort and dust and wash and clean and tidy it
in less time than they take
to slam the door
yet only you know that it's done, and how it's done.
And you say nothing.

Somewhere, two strangers
smile at one another

Within reach

I pray Almighty and rest,
No more questions and no more zest,
Continue to strive always for best,
Is it not the time for simple test?

HE has done all his best,
Provided us with very good nest,
Simple food but better than feast,
No botheration or worry at least,

With all good at our disposal,
Never we make simple proposal?
Always we demand and more propose,
Less he considers and quickly disposes,

What a beautiful and lovely creation?
Everything before us for recreation,
Doesn’t require any certificate or citation,
For descent living and more facilitation,

O merciful you created it within my reach,
Lovely sea shore and beautiful beach,
Nothing to learn and nothing to teach,
Confine to self and nothing to preach,

Nothing stops me from being an honest,
Sowing well and reaping rich harvest,
Life is mission and not merely a conquest,
Everything you get at simple request,

Eat well, think well and speak also good,
no complaint about nature or good mood,
All carving made from precious wood,
So I see him around whether sat or stood

Simple Kind Of Life

For a long time I was in love
Not only in love, I was obsessed
With a friendship that no one else could touch
It didnt work out, Im covered in shells
And all I wanted was a simple thing
A simple kind of life
And all I needed was a simple man
So I could be a wife
Im so ashamed, Ive been so mean
I dont know how it got to this point
Ooh I always was the one with all the love
But you came along, Im hunting you down
Like a sick domestic abuser lookin for a fight
And all I wanted was the simple things a simple kind of life
Oh if we met tomorrow for the very first time
Would it start all over again?
Would I try to make you mine?
I always thought Id be a mom
Sometimes I wish for a mistake
The longer that I wait the more selfish that I get
You seem like youd be a good dad
Now all the simple things are simply too complicated for my life
Howd I get so faithful to my freedom? a selfish kind of life
When all I ever wanted was the simple things a simple kind of life

Love-letting

'Woman places corpse of husband in closet.
Linah B-,64, said her husband died
In October 31 in either 1977 or 1978 and she
Put him in a closet because she
Couldn't pay for a proper burial...'

Might've been a good case
For Perry Mason if foul play
Had been suspected, but
The authorities got to the bottom
Of the matter when they

Got the call from the workmen
Painting the house.
Seems there was a little more than
Plaster-of-Paris on a closet floor
Than the woman let on.

One might wonder at the woman's stead
To bear the dead crime,
'No, J- is not home today, '
No one the wiser what lay
In the closet's keep.

It'll probably be the 'in' thing now-
Home Burial.
Little women will squirrel
Their loved ones away-
Where the dead never leave the house.

Give More, Take Less.

Give more,
Take less,
Keep tidy,
Make a mess.

Fall in love,
Fall apart,
Be stupid,
Be smart.

Put on a smile,
Disguise a frown,
Drag yourself up,
Instead of being down.

Die happily,
Live sad,
Be good,
But sometimes be bad.

Christmas is...

Christmas is fun,
Christmas is daring,
Christmas is loving,
Christmas is caring,

Sitting under the christmas tree,
A bunch of presents all staring at me,
One by one they look me in the eye,
Unwrap unwrap i quickly sigh,

Lots of food all nice and yum,
Waiting anxiously to be in my tum,
Tasty tasty,
No wastey wastey,

Time for games,
Time for fun,
This game, so easily won! !

Time a tidy,
Tidy away,
Ready for use another day,
Bye bye christmas,
Bye bye fun,
Night night everyone,
Bye bye sun!

Langston Hughes

Pierrot

I work all day,
Said Simple John,
Myself a house to buy.
I work all day,
Said Simple John,
But Pierrot wondered why.
For Pierrrot loved the long white road,
And Pierrot loved the moon,
And Pierrot loved a star-filled sky,
And the breath of a rose in June.
I have one wife,
Said Simple John,
And,faith,I love her yet.
I have one wife,
Said Simple John,
But Pierrot left Pierrette.

For Pierrot saw a world of girls,
And Pierrot loved each one,
And Pierrot thought all maidens fair
As flowers in the sun.
Oh, I am good,
Said Simple John,
The Lord will take me in.
Yes, I am good,
Said Simple John,
But Pierrot's steeped in sin.
For Pierrot played on a slim guitar,
And Pierrot loved the moon,
And Pierrot ran down the long white road
With the burgher's wife one June.

A Babies Simple Smile

A babies simple smile
So Innocent and pure
A babies simple smile
All my Sadness it can cure

A babies simple smile
Incapable of fraud
A babies simple smile
This leaves me feeling awed

A babies simple smile
This fills my world with light
A babies simple smile
Oh how I love the sight

A babies simple smile
It’s a blessing I am sure
A babies simple smile
May it never be obscured

Simple As That

Got us a situation
It dont need no explanation
It dont take a scientist
To figure out just what this is
Unlike the changing seasons
Love happens without reason
Its as simple as that
Two people meet its destiny that theyre together
Its as simple as that
I knew when I met you that this would last forever
Its as simple as that
And I can promise you that I will leave you never
Im happy right where Im at
Its as simple as that
Its how I feel when you call my name
Its holdin hands in the pouring rain
A slow dance that never ends
The sweet sound of violins
And even when were apart
You beat around in my heart
Its as simple as that
Two people meet its destiny that theyre together
Its as simple as that
I knew when I met you that this would last forever
Its as simple as that
And I can promise you that I will leave you never
Im happy right where Im at
Its as simple as that
Its as simple as that
Two people meet its destiny that theyre together
I knew when I met you that this would last forever
And I can promise you that I will leave you never
Im happy right where Im at
Its as simple as, its as simple as that
Its as simple as that
Its as simple as that
Its as simple as that.

You're No Good

Well, i'm feelin' better now that we're through.
Feelin' better, baby, i'm over you.
I learned my lesson, baby.
And it left a scar.
But now i see how you really are.
You're no good, no good.
Baby, you're no good.
No good, no good, no good.
Baby, you're no good.
I broke a heart, simple and true.
Broke a heart for someone like you.
We'll be coming back. don't come running to me.
I wanna love you, maybe set you free.
You're no good, no good, no good.
Baby, you're no good.
You're no good, no good, no good.
Baby, you're no good.
(used to be, i couldn't sleep at night, baby
Now, you go on. do what you want to.)
