All I know for certain is that reading is of the most intense importance to me; if I were not able to read, to revisit old favorites and experiment with names new to me, I would be starved - probably too starved to go on writing myself.

An Artistic Inter-Dimensional Audience
writing in other sleep writing fled spheres
in other climes muse does vibrant chime
writing in another alpha wave order
mind crossed threshold gilded border
writing ordered stanzas attaining woven perfection
written read in awed deep sleep enslaved benediction
receding back to this dark soul starved physical plane
nothing of attained higher celestial realm is retained

Love and Sex
Why are men
Always
Sex-starved
And women
Always
Love-starved?
Men can do
Without love
But sex is
Essential.
For women,
Love is
Paramount.
Sex is
Inconsequential.

Uh! All Night
Everywhere around the world
Everybodys doin time
Freedom comes at 5:15
Prison starts at quarter to nine
It takes a hard workin lover
To keep on towin the line
Ill meet you under the covers
I get excited, Im so excited
Well, we work all day
And we dont know why
Well, theres just one thing that money cant buy
When your bodys been starved feed your appetite
When you work all day, you gotta uh! all night
Uh, uh, uh, uh, uh, whoo
Take me to the jungle, honey
Were livin in a human zoo
Getcha turnin tricks for money
Id rather roll around with you
cause when the waitin is over
I come a-runnin to you
I got the whole night to show you
I get excited, Im so excited
Well, we work all day
And we dont know why
Well, theres just one thing that money cant buy
When your bodys been starved feed your appetite
When you work all day, you gotta uh! all night
Ooh, let me hear you, uh, right, uh, uh, uh, yeah
Well, we work all day
And we dont know why
Well, theres just one thing that money cant buy
When your bodys been starved feed your appetite
When you work all day, you gotta uh!
They got me workin, they got me runnin
But when Im comin home to you, yeah
Well, we work all day
And we dont know why
Well, theres just one thing that money cant buy
When your bodys been starved feed your appetite
When you work all day, you gotta uh! all night
Well, we work all day (they got me working)
And we dont know why (they got me runnin)
Well, theres just one thing that money cant buy (ooh yeah)
When you bodys been starved (my bodys hungry)
Feed your appetite (dont need no money)
When you work all day, you gotta uh! all night (comin home, yeah)
Well, we work all day
And we dont know why
Well, theres just one thing that money cant buy
When you bodys been starved, feed your appetite
When you work all day, you gotta uh! all night
Well, we work all day

Few are sufficiently sensible of the importance of that economy in reading which selects, almost exclusively, the very first order of books. Why, except for some special reason, read an inferior book, at the very time you might be reading one of the highest order?

This is mainly because I spend a lot of time writing and so don't have much time to read; I hate to waste that time reading what may turn out to be junk food for the mind, when there's so much real writing to be read.

I'm Not Like You
I sit here now,
Writing this poem.
You read it now,
No matter what’s goin.
Sometimes it’s rainy,
Sometimes it’s not.
You read this poem now,
Go do you the homework you forgot.
Life can be simple,
It can also be complicated.
Be when read this now,
Please don’t get frustrated.
Thanks for reading this,
You’re a cool person that much is true.
But to spend the time and read,
I’m probably not much like you.
Over the Horizon
Summer is a coming
and it brings the shining sun
The glistening water
girls in bikinis
and a masculine brown tan
but also it brings a pain
For I lost someone that fateful summer
Over the horizon
He was starved of life
One summer I fled
Fled, from the beach house
deep in the night
out for a midnight swim
the dark ocean
the silent breeze
and the surprise crashing of waves
But it also brings pain
For I lost my life that fateful summer
Over the horizon
I was starved of life

When I'm not writing, I read loads of fiction, but I've been writing quite constantly lately so I've been reading a lot of nonfiction - philosophy, religion, science, history, social or cultural studies.

The Last Poem I Came To
The last poem I came to
Was not my own-
It came from other voices elsewhere
And had a thousand broken signatures written in it -
It was all my reading and all the voices of others I had heard-
It sounded like a mess,
And it frightened me by its mixed- up- ness -
But I have been reading and listening too long
The voice was of the others
But it had become mine also-
And now when I try to sound like myself
I hear them calling me by their own lines and names
And writing these words as I write them.

A Love To Read
Is it a misconception,
That writers read...
Other writers' works?
Or reads extensively at all?
Afterall...
When would a true writer,
Find time to get that done...
If one has a love to read?
And...
I am not that one to say,
A reading AND a writing done...
Is an impossibility.
Because I read what I write often.
Regularly and on a daily basis.

We are drowning in information and starved for knowledge.
It's For Me
Poetry for me, is just like breathing
I inhale Life and exhale poems
It's for me - I do the writing
No matter, if ever, comments come.
As chosen words come out soothing
Release the pained and burdened heart
I find relief in simply writing
Touching others with what I impart.
But always the joy is within me
The reading by others may truly bless
I'm grateful they read my poetry
But the writing is my true happiness!

A shock dog is starved and nobody believes it.
Stifle not the reader
Reading is an art,
reading is a tool.
Those who think it dumb,
must be such a fool.
Reading is enjoyment,
reading is a blast.
Reading is a separate entity
from the future and the past.
Reading is done in present,
though written in a tense.
Reading is about life,
in surprise or suspense.
Reading is a place of joy,
full of hope and song,
Reading is a place I feel
that I truly do belong.
A trapdoor to a fantasy,
A world thought lost to us,
Reading is a place of wonder,
a place that we can trust.
Why read about reality,
when I can delve into magic.
Why stifle my own happiness,
with scenarios so tragic.
Stifle not the reader,
for it is their choice alone.
Reading is an outlet,
for hearts that turned to stone.
We are drowning in information but starved for knowledge.
