I had no allusions of radio success. I just loved being in studios. I was having fun and in that sense I now feel a lot like I did when I did that record.

Overnight Sensation
(eric carmen)
Well i know it sounds funny
But i'm not in it for the money, no
I don't need reputation
And i'm not in it for the show
I just want a hit record
Want to hear it on the radio
Want a big hit record
One that everybody's got to know
Well the program director don't pull it
Then it's bound to get back the bullet
So bring the group down to the station
You're gonna be an overnight sensation
I've been tryin' to write the lyric
Not offensive but satiric, too
If you can get it in the "a" slot
It's just gotta make a mint for you
And i want a hit record
Want to hear it on the radio
Want a big hit record
One that everybody's got to own
Overnight sensation
I fit the words
To a good melody
Amazing how success
Has been ignoring me so long
I've used my bread
Making demos all day
And writing in the night
While in my head i hear
The record play
Hear it play
Hit record, yeah
Want a hit record, yeah
Want a hit record, yeah
(number one)
Want a hit record, yeah
(number one)

Payola Blues
This ones for you al freed,
Wherever you go, whatever you do
cause the things theyre doing today
Will make a saint out of you
Payola blues.
Ive got the payola blues
Even though I already paid my dues.
Listen to me mr. d.j., hear what Ive got to say
If a man is making music, they ought to let his record play.
Payola blues
No matter where I go
I never hear my record on the radio.
Well, heres three thousand, that ought to get it on.
Well, thanks a lot man! I love your new song.
Payola blues
No matter where I go
I never hear my record on the radio.
And it goes like this.
I got a brand new record company, new manager too.
Got a great new record, I cant get through to you.
Payola blues
No matter where I go
I never hear my record on the radio.
How about this new mercedes benz, that ought to get it on.
Well, thanks a lot man! Ill play it all day long.
Payola blues
No matter where I go
I never hear my record on the radio.
Ive got the payola blues, payola blues
Im paying those payola blues
No matter where I go
I never hear my record on the radio.

Studios were just run differently. There really was a head of a studio. There were people who loved their studios. Who worked for their studios and were loaned out to other people and everybody sort of got a piece. Well now there's a handful now.

When radio stations started playing music the record companies started suing radio stations. They thought now that people could listen to music for free, who would want to buy a record in a record shop? But I think we all agree that radio stations are good stuff.

Heartbreak Radio
Hometown sweetheart.hung around in the dark.
Only make a move or two.i was just a young fool.
Never been to night school, didnt know enough to be cool.
So she found another lover, they went undercover.
The way she stole my heart was a crime
In order to keep the peace callin out the police
Find herfore I lose my mind.
The woman I love done gone and left me, no.
Shes got a bad big record on the heartbreak radio.
A complete investigation, whats her destination.
Did she leave a trace at all?
Book on her suspicion.just look at my condition.
She left me here to take the fall.
That girl she sure can play it rough.she oughta be in handcuffs.
Make her wear a balln chain.oh, shes just a heart stealer.
Sweetest kinda love dealer.she knows how to flix a game.
The woman I love done gone and left me, no.
She got a big bad record on the heartbreak radio.
Lonely hearts in distress. calling out an sos.
All across the u.s of a. come on back and serve your time.
Right here in these arms of mine. gotta have you home today.
Fbi, cid, help me, help me,help me please.
The one I love has gone and left me alone.
She got a bad big record on the heartbreak radio.
The one I love has gone and left me alone.
She got a bad big record on the heartbreak radio.
The one I love has gone and left me alone.
She got a big bad record on the heartbreak radio.
She got a bag bad record on the heartbreak radio.

Big Ten Inch Record
Got me the strangest woman
Believe it, this chicks no sinch
When I wanna get her goin
Then I whip out my big ten inch
Record of the band that plays the blues
Well the band that plays the blues
She just loved my big ten inch
Record of her favorite blues
Last night I tried to tease her
I gave my love a little pinch
But she said now stop that jivin
Now whip out your big ten-inch
Record of the band that plays the blues
Well the band that plays the blues
She just loved my big ten inch
Record of her favorite blues
Ill cover her with kisses
And when were in a lovers clinch

Record of the band that plays the blues
Well the band that plays the blues
She just loved my big ten inch
Record of her favorite blues
My gal dont go smokin
And liquor just makes her flinch
Seems she dont go for nothin
cept for my big ten-inch

I see you baby
Every single day
Holding on to my best friend
But you dont see me
So I make the same request now
Every single night
Going out from me to you
On the dedication line
I wonder if youre listening
To the words that keep me wishing
That one day Ill be kissing you
Wo wo wo

Turn Your Radio On
Come and listen in to a radio station
Where the mighty hosts of heaven sing
Turn your radio on, turn your radio on
If you want to feel those good vibrations
Coming from the joy that His love can bring
Turn you radio on, turn your radio on.
Turn your radio on
And listen to the music in the air
Turn your radio on and glory share
Turn your lights down low
And listen to the Master's radio
Get in touch with God, and turn your radio on.
--- Instrumental ---
Everybody has a radio receiver
All you got to do is listen for the call
Turn your radio on, turn your radio on
If you listen in you will be a believer
Leanin' on the truths that'll never fall
Get in touch with God, turn the radio on.
Turn your radio on
And listen to the music in the air
Turn your radio on and glory share
Turn your lights down low
And listen to the Master's radio
Get in touch with God, turn your radio on.
Turn your radio on
And listen to the music in the air
Turn your radio on and glory share
Turn your lights down low
And listen to the Master's radio
Get in touch with God, turn your radio on.
Turn your lights down low
And listen to the Master's radio
Get in touch with God, turn your radio on...

Radio Ga Ga
Words and music by roger taylor
Radio Id sit alone and watch your light
My only friend through teenage nights
And evrything I had to know
I heard it on my radio
You gave them all those old time stars
Through wars of worlds - invaded by mars
You made em laugh - you made em cry
You made us feel like we could fly
Radio
So dont become some background noise
A backdrop for the girls and boys
Who just dont know or just dont care
And just complain when youre not there
You had your time you had the power
Youve yet to have your finest hour
Radio
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio goo goo
Radio ga ga
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio blah blah
Radio whats new?
Radio someone still loves you
We watch the shows - we watch the stars
On videos for hours and hours
We hardly need to use our ears
How music changes through the years
Lets hope you never leave old friend
Like all good things on you we depend
So stick around cos we might miss you
When we grow tired of all this visual
You had your time you had the power
Youve yet to have your finest hour
Radio
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio goo goo
Radio ga ga
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio goo goo
Radio ga ga
All we hear is radio ga ga
Radio blah blah
Radio whats new?
Someone still loves you
Radio ga ga

Youve yet to have your finest hour

Perhaps You Do Look At Life In The Wrong Way
Others you just cannot seem to impress
And you have low self esteem from your lack of success
But why worry if others your praises don't sing
Since success after all is a relative thing,
Down the social hill you have slid it does seem
And this has done little for your sense of self esteem
But going by how you feel and going by what you say
Perhaps you do look at life in the wrong way
For those who admire you for your material success
Are people that you do not need to impress
You need people to respect you for the person you are
Not for your great job or your new mercedes car
And if to those with material success respect you feel you should pay
Perhaps you do look at life in the wrong way.

On The Radio (From The Motion Picture Foxes)
Someone found a letter you wrote me, on the radio
and they told the world just how you felt
it must have fallen out of a hole in your old brown overcoat
they never said your name
but I knew just who they meant.
I was so surprised and shocked, and I wonderer, too
if by chance you heard it for yourself
I never told a soul just how I've been feeling about you
but they said it really loud
they said it on the air
On the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
Now, now
don't it kinda strike you sad when you hear our song
things are not the same since we broke up last June
the only thing that I wanna hear is that you love me still
and that you think you'll be coming home real soon
whoa, oh, yeah, yeah
And it made me feel proud when I heard you say
you couldn't find the words to say it yourself
and now in my heart I know I can say what I really feel
'Cause they said it really loud
they said it on the air
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
(Played in shorter version)
If you think that love isn't found on the radio
well tune right in you made find the love you lost
'cause now I'm sitting here with the man I sent away long ago
it sounded really loud
they said it really loud
On the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
(End)
(Played in longer version)
Sending in a letter to tell them that I love you too
if you hear it, maybe you will know
when you hear them read the line about love's return on the radio
you'll think about the two of us and you'll come home
whoa, oh, oh
if you knew just how I'd felt why'd you make me wait?
life goes on and on while you play with my heart
don't hold on any longer 'cause now I know how you really feel
'Cause I heard it really loud
they said it on the air
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
Now,
if you think that love isn't found on the radio
then tune right in you made find the love you lost
'cause now I'm sitting here with the man I sent away long ago
it sounded really loud
they said it really loud
On the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh
on the radio
whoa, oh, oh

What Defines Success
What is the journey to success?
Success is not gained by defeat
Success does not occur over night
Success can emerge at any age
Success is working to full potential
Success is courage
Success is lending a hand
Success is not listening to negativity
Success is being positive
Success is living your life instead of the life of others
Success is being proud
Success is overcoming obstacles
Success is striving
Success is listening to your heart
Most of all success is accepting
What you have accomplished

I see it comes
When i dream success

When i touch success

Success success
My hope
I'll find success
Embrace success
When i hold success
I'll keep it save
When I have success
