Our deep respect for the land and its harvest is the legacy of generations of farmers who put food on our tables, preserved our landscape, and inspired us with a powerful work ethic.

Respect The Earth!
why do we always mistreat
the people who do our farm work?
why would we starve the people
who pick our crops?
why would we deport the only people
who are willing to do the work?
and you wonder why your kids
think that all food comes
from an aisle in the grocery store!
gas prices keep rising,
food prices keep rising...
what happens when the trucking
industry goes down?
what are you going to eat then?
we need to as much as possible
go back to raising our food.
at the very least support
your local farmers...
no GM seeds!
do it the old way, the right way.
pay your farm workers,
pay them well!
get out and do the work yourself!
stop the dependency on a failing system!
let the people who want to work, work!
respect the earth, and it will respect us!

Sonnet: Harvest-time
In Summer, farmers scythe the harvest fast;
Their weary frames from morn till eve stay bent;
The produce sheaved is dried in fields so vast;
The air with songs of joy from heart is rent.
The scorching Sun doesn't bother their tanned skin;
Despite their speed, their work is ne’er over;
All hands labour, young, old, both kith and kin,
For golden harvest, thanking Lord- Giver.
The reapers everywhere must work quite hard;
There is no time to eat or drink water!
Their sweat-drenched land has yielded them reward;
The struggle involved ain't a great matter.
Each morn they stand and pray to Sun- their God,
Without which, there's no food, peasant, landlord.

It Is A Bleak Season For Farmers
It is a bleak Season for farmers with climate change and livestock prices down
Some of them have sold what they can sell and moved to live and to find jobs in the town
For many of them the rains have come too late climate change affecting everywhere
Global warming is in every Country in the bigger World out there
Some arrogant Humans think they can control Nature how come they have got it so wrong
How egotistical they must be for to think they can control the one we to belong
For we too are a part of Nature as much as her creatures of sea and of land
And she will always be our master though some that do not understand
Many farmers due to climate change the land are leaving and that seems a sad thing to say
With less farmers less food in the supermarket but the wealthy they will be okay
For a farm food scarcity means higher food prices but for food they can afford for to pay
'Tis the poor will be condemned to suffer in times of food scarcity 'tis always this way
It is a bleak Season for farmers and that is a sad thing to hear
And for the have nots of the World it looks like another bleak year.

Inspired by Issa-Harvest Moon
harvest moon -
for the sacrecrow
a deep last bow
harvest moon -
the scarecrow orchestrates
an empty field
inspired by
harvest moon-
tonight even you
are busy!

Johnsons Aeroplane
Four long lines one darker than the rest
Each one has a purpose making borders on the land
Farmers pride you know he works real hard
]from a small aeroplane you can see the fields
Heart shaped hedges
Japanese gardens
A place to work and grow
A place to work and grow
Four long years one leaner than the rest
The animals are fed and the pastures dry
Farmers pride if the weather doesnt lie
]from a small aeroplane you can see the sea
Lots of blue
Very deep blue
A place to work and grow
A place to work and grow
Johnson sees the fields from all the sides
Steel machines and black tar roads
Countryside where the spirit never dies
In his face all the history shows
Farmers pride as the rains came down

It is up to us to live up to the legacy that was left for us, and to leave a legacy that is worthy of our children and of future generations.

Unsung Heroes
The land laid waste and desolate.
Opposing armies came and went,
that neither thought to contemplate
the end result is evident.
There’ll be no harvest here to reap
There’s no one left to till the land.
Beneath the soil the farmers sleep.
The warriors failed to understand
In war there is no victory.
The winners and the losers fail
to learn from all past history.
That warriors die to no avail
The real heroes are men of peace.
The farmers and the labourers
the men who toil without surcease
to feed themselves and their neighbours.

On this National Agriculture Day, when we all should be taking time to thank and pay tribute to America's farmers, ranchers and their families who produce the food for our tables, we are finding those same people in dire need of our help and support.

Labor omnia vincit
Labor omnia vincit
Labor conquers everything
If we black and brown men work, work, work together hard enough
While all the lazy white man does is play, play, play
Then surely we can make a plan to come together, the ulimate plan
Entrench ourselves
Bury ourselves deep
Deep into the fabic of America's work ethic
Slowly steal away their jobs
Rob the money out of their greedy pockets and steal the food from their lying fat mouths
That is how we will have our final victory
That is how we will overcome, overcome their cruel ways
They won't even see what's coming
Not until it's too late
Far too late to fight back againest us
They believe us to be nothing but dumb, drunken laborers
So be it
We shall allow that masquerade to continue
For now
For the moment
Until that day comes
Just a few short years away
Not long after our dark agent has taken the highest white office in the land
That my friends and fellow men and women of color is when, when we shall take our places
Our rightful places as the new kings and queens of the good ole U.S. of A.
Oh happy day!

Civilization
Civilization is the one
Where one has to work
More for respect than food
And where one has to spend
More for respect than food.

One Who Rejects Christ
There's farmers and there's farmers,
There's many a field and field,
But none of the farmers round about
Can haul such harvest-wagons out
As I from an acre's yield.
There's plenty and plenty of farmers
That leave the ground by the fence,
Thinking it's nice if a patch of roses
Should scratch out the hay and tickle their noses
With nice little wild-rose scents.
I'm not like other farmers,
I make my farming pay;
I never go in for sentiment,
And seeing that roses yield no rent
I cut the stuff away.
A very good thing for farmers
If they would learn my way;
For crops are all that a good field grows,
And nothing is worse than a sniff of rose
In the good strong smell of hay.

My Work Ethic
I make what I do look easy.
So naturally,
Those who believe they know me...
Think there is no effort applied.
And insist I could get a real job,
If I tried.
And they have real jobs they despise.
And I can say,
My work ethic is real.
I am devoted to what I do.
And with me that is the appeal.
I may not have money they can respect.
Or finances to purchase what I wish for next.
But there is one thing I know no one with me can bet...
I wont be seen shopping at the mall seeking a happiness.
And I can say,
My work ethic is real.
I am devoted to what I do.
And with me that is the appeal.
So naturally,
Those who believe they know me...
Think there is no effort applied.
And insist I could get a real job,
If I tried.
And they have real jobs they despise.
And nothing that I do with this passion I have,
Can I describe or categorize!
And everyday what I do to do it until it gets done...
I feel grateful to be blessed,
With a happiness I can regard as fun!

Harvest and Autumn
Harvest, harvest
all you need,
is food and drink
and fruit indeed.
Harvest friend is harvest moon,
of course.
Autumn, Autumn
Harvest is in Autumn,
oh, what a great time to celebrate! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !
