Television broadcasts have, in the main, been more suggestive, less specific, more distant in their images than the print press: often you knew that lump was a dead body only because a chattering reporter told you it was.

The Anger Behind The Swing Of This Axe

With every swing of this well worn axe.
I'm thinking of you.
The anger burns right through.
Images flash across my brain.
It's like I'm watching the most hated reruns on television.
And no matter what I do they just keep playing.

I wish I never meant you.
I wish for something sweet instead of something so bitter.
I've been told the taste will fade.
Well I'm still waiting.

Well I'm still waiting..

I did everything right and it still went so wrong.
Perfection in the moment and now its gone.
If I only knew what I know now.
I would have ran for the hills.
Never looked back.
Like a ghost completely disappeared.
Across the hemisphere.
Above the highest atmosphere.
Mind you they are limitation I grant you.
But still I don't think it's that far of an exaggeration.

With every swing of this well worn axe.
I'm thinking of you.
The anger burns right through.
Images flash across my brain.
It's like I'm watching the most hated reruns on television.
And no matter what I do they just keep playing.

I wish I never meant you.

I wish I never meant you.
I wish for something sweet instead of something so bitter.
I've been told the taste will fade.
Well I'm still waiting.

A broken heart I'm not debating.
For I know at one time I did love you.
But it faded as you became so god damn jaded.
Nothing I did was ever quite good enough.
With love their should never be any expectation.
Except not too stray or put yourself a abusive situation.
Support and do the best you can for your family and friends.
But in this case you didn't allow that to happen.

I want to blame you for my unhappiness.
But I can not.
For I'm better off now then I ever have been.
In my eyes you have already been forgiven.
For your road was rockier then mine has ever been.
I will never forget the kids they will always be in my heart as if they were my own.
One autistic, the other blind.
You don't even acknowledge I ever existed.
Even as I ask how they are.
So I will never know.

With every swing of this well worn axe.
I'm thinking of you.
The anger burns right through.
Images flash across my brain.
It's like I'm watching the most hated reruns on television.
And no matter what I do they just keep playing.

A Story Made

The table with its sunshade wide,
listened to the chattering.
Old and young sat side by side
around it, gaily nattering.

The birds perched nearby in the trees,
listened to the chattering
rising up on a light breeze.
Indeed the sounds were shattering.

The sun that shone down from the sky,
listened to the chattering.
Knew that once the rain came by,
there would be gentle pattering.

The young and old who felt the drops,
ceased to do the chattering.
Went indoors under rooftops,
resuming their loud yattering.

The sunshade dripping from the hail,
listened to the chattering.
Felt so sorry for a snail,
getting such a harsh battering.

The chairs where everyone had sat,
listened to the chattering.
Many were now lying flat.
there had been quite a scattering.

And so all these things a story made,
all about the chattering.
The elements well displayed,
when all received a splattering.

Little black box called Television!

I watch it
Morning, day and night
The plasma screens are quite a sight
Soap Operas, Reality Shows, Movies
I watch anything there is to see
But the little black box called Television
Gets on my nerves

Images of other people’s life it serves
As a daily dish to my vision
Even my own ideas about fashion
Are ruthlessly destroyed in its mission
To impose on me of how to live

But I love Television
I am addicted to Television
Like glue is to paper
Or love making is to a beginner
I am its concubine with my permission
Please at me, don't point a finger

When I am lonely
It is easier to pretend
The images presented by TV
Are my friends

When I am horny
Without sounding funny
I can make love in my bed
After breakfast in bed
To anyone from the TVs images
Now endorsed into my head

That little black box
Sucks, it really sucks
It is just a vicious circle
Bed, Work, Television and Bed
Bed, Work, Television and Bed
Bed, Work, Television and Bed

Mr. Reporter

Hey, mr. reporter,
How 'bout talking about yourself?
Do you like what you're doing,
Or is it that you can do nothing else?
Hey, mr. reporter,
I'll believe all that you put down.
I'll believe the sun is going up,
Even though it's going down.
Hey, mr. reporter,
Don't you twist my words around.
I'll kill you, i won't let you,
Distort my simple sound.
Hey, mr. reporter,
How 'bout talking about yourself?
Do you like what you're doing,
Or is it that you can do nothing else?
Hey, mr. reporter,
How 'bout talking about yourself?
Do you like what you're doing,
Or is it that you can do nothing else?
Did your daddy stop you playing
With your friends when you were young?
And is that why you run down
All the young folks have their fun. [?]
The reason i am stupid,
Is because i read you every day.
You misquote all of the true things
Because they rub you the wrong way.
Hey, mr. reporter,
How 'bout talking about yourself?
Do you like what you're doing,
Or is it that you can do nothing else?

Throw Away Your Television

Throw away your television
Time to make this clean decision
Master waits for it's collision now
It's a repeat of a story told
It's a repeat and it's getting old

Throw away your television
Make a break big intermission
Recreate your super vision now
It's a repeat of a story told
It's a repeat and it's getting old

[Chorus:]
Renegades with fancy gauges
Slay the plague for it's contagious
Pull the plug and take the stages
Throw away your television now

Throw away your television
Take the noose off your ambition
Reinvent your intuition now
It's a repeat of a story told
It's a repeat and it's getting old

[Chorus]

Throw away your television
Salivate to repetition
Levitate this ill condition now
It's a repeat

Main Street Eyes

This whole country is scared of failure.
My head keeps trying to sell me ambition.
But in my heart, I want self-respect.
Theres a conflict.
Boy, I feel so outgunned today
But Ill get up and fight back, anyway
You and I aare not huge mainstream stars
But unlike them, were really what we are
We got main street eyes
Watchin as the big boys roll by
Under rotten television skies
We got main street eyes
I saw a kitten squashed in the street
I read about a plastic surgeon and his art collection.
We are played for suckers all the time
Phony rock and roll
Its a crime
I dont want to dip myself in trash
I dont want to give myself for cash
We got main street eyes
Tryin to do whats decent with our lives
Under funny television skies
We got main street eyes
Walkin around sometimes
I see a tension under the surface
People are just about ready to explode.
So hold me, and trust me
I love you, dont worry.
Keep your main street eyes
Keep your main street eyes
Keep your main street eyes
Eyes
Eyes

Just Pull The Trigger

Stuck in a rut and not sure how to get out.
They say get off the junk, but I was never on it.
An elevation in the escalation of the center piece.
The pearl glows as it twirls.

Oh I once knew that girl.
I once knew that girl.

But where she went I just don't know.
The flying sauce experience with a disappearing act.
One plus one then subtract.
Bad habits.
An itch to put a stitch where it just doesn't go.
Being all glorified and nothing to show.
Heaving a hoe back and forth.
Whats is beneath this earth?
I know the body has got to be buried somewhere.

A closet full of just more empty space.
A seclusion to what escape?
The statue moves does it scare you?
Abandoning all methodological reasoning.
Cranking up the seasons.
A little spice with so much bitterness to spare.
Just look at his angry glare.
The evil eyeball staring you down.
Does the heart start to pound?

The lost can never be found.
The victims faces are all around.
They make no sounds.
No screams ever come out.
A void that just eats at me.
Make these images go away.
Get out of my head.
Pull the trigger then he'll be dead.
Then he'll be dead.
Dead, Dead, Dead.

One of life's best coping mechanisms is to know the difference between an inconvenience and a problem. Life is inconvenient. Life is lumpy. A lump in the oatmeal, a lump in the throat and a lump in the breast are not the same kind of lump. One needs to learn the difference.
