If Wishes Were Horses
Come with me you can wish upon a star
You can do all the things that you've longed to
And you won't have to wonder who you are
You can be anybody you want to
In a land full of promises and kings
All your best laid dreams are for catchin'
You can have the world to tie up on a string
Just close your eyes and imagine
If wishes were horses
Beggars would ride
All dreams and desires would ride along side
Worries and troubles would fall off behind
If wishes were horses

If Only Wishes Were Horses, Part 2
I dream and dream and dream
And dream and dream and dream,
And keep on crying and praying
For chariots many and huge horses -
Despite the saddening saying:
'If only wishes were horses! '
I dream and dream and dream
And dream and dream and dream,
And keep on wishing and longing
For a new Golgotha without crosses
Despite Reality's preaching:
'If only wishes were horses! '
I dream and dream and dream
And dream and dream and dream,
And keep on knocking at doors and gates
Of 'Destiny Villa' and 'Fort d'Oasis'
Despite what nature promulgates:
'If only wishes were horses! '

If Only Wishes Were Horses, Part 3
I wish to wish the wish you wish to wish
But if you wish to wish the wish the witch wishes,
I won't wish to wish the wish you wish to wish.
I'd wish like you - like you do
and the wishes of ours would surely come true
If only wishes were horses!
I dream to dream the dream you dream to dream
But if you dream to dream the dream the dead dream,
I won't dream to dream the dream you dream to dream.
I'd dream like you - like you do
and the dreams of ours would thus come true
If only wishes were horses!
I desire to desire the desire you desire to desire,
But, if you desire to desire the desire the deer desires
I won't desire to desire the desire you desire to desire.
I'd desire like you - like you do
and our desires would really come true
If only wishes were horses!
I choose to choose the shoes you choose to choose,
But, if you choose to choose the shoes the Jews choose,
I won't choose to choose the shoes you choose to choose.
I'd walk in your shoes - your shoes of success
And then I'd have no stress,
If only wishes were horses!
I love to love the love you love to love,
But if you love to love the love the losers love
Then I won't love to love the love you love to love.
I'd love you and the world,
I'd love you more than itself the word,
If only wishes were horses!
I would, anyway, wish or dream or desire or choose or love like you do
BUT it surely would come true
If only, if only, if only wishes were horses!

A Little Merman (Fun Poem 51)
Just beyond the reef
where the little fishes swim
there lives a little merman
and his name is Gunga Din.
He frolics in the ocean
from morning to night,
playing with the mermaids
is his hearts delight.
One day while playing
on the ocean floor
Gunga din found a bottle
with a Genie trapped within.
He opened the bottle
and set the Genie free.
The Genie then said to him.
“Three wishes I now grant to thee.”
“Three wishes? What are those? ”
Gunga Din asked the Genie.
“Wishes are made
for anything you want,
and then I will make them come true.”
“But I have no need for wishes.
I have everything my heart desires.”
“But surely there is something
that you would like most of all? ”
Gunga Din shook his head.
“There is nothing I require.”
“Nothing? ” Asked the Genie.
“Nothing.” Gunga Din replied.
“You see Mr Genie
I have everything I need.
I am completely satisfied
with everything I have got.”
“The oceans are my gardens
to play around all day within.
I have plenty of friends
to keep me company.
So what do I need your wishes for?
I have everything I’ll ever need.”
“But I must grant you three wishes
for setting me free
and If you won’t take the wishes
I cannot be free.“
Gunga thought for a moment.
This cannot be right.
Everyone must be free
to do as they wish.
“Get back in the bottle, Mr Genie.
I’ll take you to some distant sandy shore.
I’ll put you on the beach
for someone to find.
I’m sure in that greedy world out there,
that there is someone
who will take up your wishes
and set you free.

If wishes were horses, then beggers would ride, but you better not think about going outside.

Heavens Dead
Anchor the night, open the sky
Hide in the hours before sunrise
Pray for me not, I won't lose sight
Of where I belong and where you lie
Chorus
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
For the best time you've had
Shipwreck the sun, I'm on your side
An army of one, onward we'll ride
And whisper your songs, birds to the air
We'll bury all of our burdens there
Chorus
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
For the best time you've had
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
For the best time you've had
Best time you had
For the best time you had
Heaven's dead when you get sad
Chorus
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
For the best time you've had
Heaven's dead when you get sad
I see your wishes fly
Out of time
I'll take it all, arrows or guns
Hundreds or more to save you from one
Save you from one
And Where I'll be
Heaven's dead when you get sad

Body Wishes
(stewart, cregan, savigar, le mesurier)
The night closes in on another day
As the oldest games gettin underway
On the minds of a million people body wishes
So you climb on the carousel and take a chance
The same old ritual the same old dance
The hardest thing to resist is body wishes
If the fire down belows gettin worse and worse
Youre so close to shootin that you want to burst
Somebodys sponge needs squeezin body wishes
What do I say
Nobody gonna tell ya
Where do I go
Somewhere someonell have ya
Who do I tell
Anybody thatll listen
No one should know
Wont solve the problem
Body wishes, body wishes
Body wishes, body wishes
Away in the distance a baby cries
But you know somebodys by her side
The night drags on forever body wishes
You can hear the tickin of a lonely clock
The howlin wind that just wont stop
Somebodys cherries need pickin body wishes
What do I say
Nobody gonna tell ya
Where do I go
Somewhere someonell have ya
Who do I tell
Anybody thatll listen
No one should know
Wont solve the problem
Itll tear you apart like an angry sea
Keep you warm like a summer breeze
Its all weve got in a cold cold world
Is to love someone
Body wishes, body wishes
Somethings happenin in the air
It feels so close but you dont know where
The poorest peoples riches body wishes
And the cheatin hearts never learn
Someday somewhere gonna be your turn
Dont start what you cant finish body wishes
What do I say
Nobody gonna tell ya
Where do I go
Somewhere someonell have ya
Who do I tell
Anybody thatll listen
No one should know
That wont solve the problem
Where do I run
Anywhere thatll hide ya
Wholl be the one
Yeah
Body wishes, body wishes
Body wishes, body wishes
Body wishes, body wishes
Body wishes, body wishes
Body wishes, body wishes

The Life that we are part of
one life
one soul
shared by
entities
all added
up to one
larger life
the river
freezes
because it
it is telling
the sun
not to go
too far
the moon
hangs out
in the night
because
it wishes
to share
the secrets
of the sun
the cloud
comes down
as rain
because
it wishes to
share with
all the glory
of the sky
the trees
bear fruits
because
it wishes
to thank all
for giving air
as well as
hellp spread
their kinds
the sky is
thunder and
lightning
because
it wishes
to throw
a balance
between earth
and sky
the world is
getting hotter
because
it wishes
to tell us
we have gone
against its order

Tiger Dreams
Little diamond in the rough
borne of joy and other stuff
Sleep, sleep, sleep
to where your secrets keep
For everything your heart wishes
is just what your life promises
Yes, like a tiger with wings
you can do anything
No, neither fool's farce, fog or fire
can keep you from the well of desire
Where dreams, secrets and wishes
you lap up like little fishes
Now soon you will awaken
and that is when you will make them
Come True

A Lonley Girls Wishes
a lonley girl wishes for one thing,
and one thing only,
to end her life,
only one person can changer her mind,
her lover,
because a lonley girl wishes for,
someone who can love her without being told,
someone who is warm and not cold,
a lonley girl wishes to be treated like gold,
they want to be loved,
they want to be held,
a lonley girl wishes to be out of danger zones,
they want no more than to die or be loved,
i would know,
i am a lonley girl and these are my wishes.

Love The Fish
The fish wither away in a week,
Wobbling like jelly of fire;
Water is weak, strong men are like fish,
As chickens feed on us
Like the birds of flight.
While wishes mend the hearts,
Whimpering dogs collect tears
As their owner smacks them
For barking and being.
The fish are united,
Inside the sea watching.
But we wobble like them
Inside our homes with pity.
This pretty sense wishes me
To be like a moon of fishes.
I circle the sea and demand
The love of an animal.

The Capture
Best wishes to those
Whose hearts dropp in sorrow!
Best wishes and joy...
For a brighter Sun kissed tomorrow!
The clouds that darken within will fade.
Like the moon reflecting light,
With a serenading escapade!
Best wishes come...
If you choose them to stay?
And drift away those gloom filled days,
When happiness is invited and excites...
The capture you radiate,
And display!

Keep Your Wishes Superlicious
Keep your wishes 'superlicious'
And keep your worth
Above the dirt.
Do not haste
To crave the taste of greatness!
Throw sour grapes away.
Unless you are using them,
For a display...
To convey what is not on your menu,
Today!
Keep your wishes 'superlicious'
And keep your worth,
Above the dirt.
You deserve a plate spiced with life!
Toss away the bitterness...
And turn up your inner light!
Keep your wishes 'superlicious'...
No matter who chooses,
To use or abuse you...
With a fading delight to backbite!
Keep your wishes 'superlicious'...
And your life one that excites!

Human is different
I’ll grow, blossom and bear before I die,
Every plant wishes.
I’ll grow, mate and beget before I die,
Every animal wishes.
I’ll show that I grow, own and bear till I die,
Human being strangely wishes.

No! Keep It
Why are you smiling so broadly?
It is clear you have been prevented,
From achieving your wishes and desires.
'Really?
Gee, I didn't know that.
And which wishes and desires,
Am I being prevented to achieve? '
I uh
Only you would know that.
Maybe those who are trying to prevent you,
Know that too.
'You might have a point.
Who are they? '
The ones preventing you from achieving!
You know
Your wishes and desires.
'Oh!
So
Maybe I shouldn't smile so broadly,
To have anyone detect
My wishes and desires have already been met.'
No!
Keep it.
Let them believe you are crazed.
They think it anyway.
But lose that skipping down the street business.
That will really throw them off.
'Hmmm
Maybe you have a point.
Maybe I'll go back to my arrogant strut and swagger.
You know
The one they associate with pretentiousness? '

Wishes cried for wanted child!
The wishes that are washed in tears
Are for a pitied child
Who knows no love and warmth of heart
I wish this reconciled
The wishes bathed in helpless brine
Do ask the reaper why
They come for child with future bright?
I wish they did not die
The wishes leaving salted trails
Are laid with grief profound
My empathy, in sorrow shared
I wish for comfort found!

If Wishes Could Be Kisses
(r. alfred / w. farrell)
Baby, if wishes could be kisses
And dreams could make you mine
I wouldnt be a-sitting here
Wasting all this time
No, no, baby, if you call me
Id race down the street
Id be there so fast
Youd think I had wings on my feet
Oh, baby, if wishes could be kisses
Id wish with all my mind
I wouldnt have to make believe
Im in your arms tonight
No, no, baby
I could thrill you if youd let me try
Wed take off together
And wed tell this world goodbye
But I know it just cant be
Unless you feel the same as me, oh, yeah-heah
Baby, if wishes could be kisses
Then Id be first in line
If Im not wrong it wont take long
til youre my valentine
Oh, oh, baby, if you hear me
Make me know you do
If Im lucky Ill find out
That youve been wishing too
A-come on, baby
A-come on, baby
If wishes could be kisses, oh, yeah
Oh, if wishes could be
Woah, baby, if you hear me
Make me know you do
If Im lucky Ill find out
That youve been wishing too
A-come on, baby
Woah, come on, baby
If wishes could be kisses, now, yeah
If wishes could be kisses, yeah
