SO when I got word from three different sets of people who all said Manson had cancer, I knew I couldn't get straight info from his staff and had no choice but to go over the fence for it.

Cancer
We don't know
How strong we are
Til being strong
Is the only choice
We have.
Why is it
That we have to be
Strong for others
When we have to be
Strong for ourselves?
Someone once said
'Wining isn't everything'
Well, he obviously
Never had
Cancer.
To lose your fight
Against cancer
Is to give in
To cancer
And die.
Though many are scared
Of this dreaded cell
Cancer is only a word
Not a whole
Sentence.
Just remember
You are not
Dying from cancer
You are living
With it.

Pink (cancer)
send out this poem to all that you know
Stop the cancer before it grows.
PINK
She was dressed all in pink to show her support
Of how she was one of the cancer victims
And how she had fought.
The cancer now in remission and she
Was leading a normal life
But no one knew of her struggles and strife.
It's hard to imagine when you're given that kind of news
We can treat the cancer, but a breast you will lose.
You feel violated and raped by that word
This was something that other people heard. (not me)
Breast cancer has no preference to whether
your yellow, Black or white - male or female
We all have to fight.
You hear about it every day- and it affects
us all in a different way.
You may think that it's just muscle and tissue taken away
But ask a victim and see what they say.
A MAMMOGRAM AND ULTRA SOUND IS THE KEY
TO HELP YOU LIVE CANCER FREE.

You can criticize any news staff in some ways, but the one thing that you couldn't call the Village Voice staff was a staff of stenographers, taking notes from public figures and just passing them on.

But when I first got cancer, after the initial shock and the fear and paranoia and crying and all that goes with cancer - that word means to most people ultimate death - I decided to see what I could do to take that negative and use it in a positive way.

Every Word I Say
You feel like liberation
You give me new sensation
You show me what I need and
You are my life completed
Can't stop, cant break, who's driving?
Sometimes there's no denying
Till today I feel I can't lose
I'm letting go of what I knew
I want you for always
I hear your name in every word I say
I'm a fool and I don't care
I hear your name in every word I say
Every word I say
Every word I say
Before you I was only
What I let control me
You are a revolution
Against my own conclusions
So today I feel I can't lose
But I'm letting go of what I knew
Said, I want you for always
I hear your name in every word I say
I'm a fool and I don't care
I hear your name in every word I say
Oh no no no no no no no
Oh no no no no no no no
Oh no no no no no no no
Oh no no no no no
And now I say goodbye to the way I used to be
There is no room for question
'Cause your name, it sets me free
Yesterday's troubles harm me
T-Today's are creeping in
So let go of the world around me
'Cause your love is all I need
I want you for always
I hear your name in every word I say
I'm a fool and that's okay
I hear your name in every word I say
I want you for always
I hear your name in every word I say
I'm a fool and I don't care
I hear your name in every word I say
Every word I say
Every word I say
In every word I say
Oh no no no no no no no
Oh no no no no no
Oh no no no no no no no no no no
Yeah!
I hear your name in every word I say
I hear your name in every word I say
I hear your name in every word I say
I hear your name well all I hear is your name
All I hear is your name
All I hear is your name
And no one can take it away

the big C
those who fear it cannot call it
by its own name
big C for cancer,
but cancer is cancer
no more no less
depends on what stage
then you are taken
as the next
victim by an old
expert culprit
so unforgiving
mercilessly taking the lives
of those
destined to die
cancer is cancer
no more no less
a friend of mine dies
today of cancer of the
liver.

Perfection! Absolute Perfection!
As soon as I laid eyes on her, I couldn't say a word!
The reason for that to occur? Romance within me stirred...
I couldn't move as we stood there, to offer her my hand,
Because my heart was deep in prayer! In Love's sweet wonderland!
'Hello, ' she said, 'Are you OK? Another lost in space! '
But still I stood, no words to say... still gazing on her face.
'Oh, no, it's happening again! You're smitten like the rest!
Hearts and flowers! Romantic men! So easily impressed!
A whiff of perfume and you're gone! Some blonde with silky hair!
Why can't you see it's all a con and that you should beware! ? '
But she was perfect! Without doubt! The best I've ever seen!
The evidence was all about! No wonder I was keen!
I told her straight, 'You're wonderful! The perfect Valentine!
To me, your lips are lovable, as sweet as newmade wine.
To me, your eyes are precious pearls, like sapphires in the sun.
For me, there'll be no other girls... for you're my perfect one.'
She sighed as if she'd heard it all, a thousand times before.
I sighed because I'd heard Love's call and couldn't want for more.
She walked away. She left me there. Still doting on her now...
Until I knew she didn't care... Could never care somehow...
I'll not forget her perfect smile before she spoke to me...
I'll dream of her a long, long while, until Love sets me free...

The Exploding Boy
I couldn't hear a word you said
I couldn't hear at all
You talked until your tongue fell out
And then you talked some more
I knew if i turned
I'd turn away from you
And i couldn't look back
Tell yourself we'll start again
Tell yourself it's not the end
Tell yourself it couldn't happen
Not this way
Not today

Garbo Speaks
I’d worked late each night that summer,
I had some free cash in Eighty Nine.
So, it was only natural
when I needed to unwind.
I’d grab a meal and have a glass
(or two) till final call
Then show up in the morning for
my stint at Broad and Wall.
The Blue bar at the Algonquin
was always my first choice.
Steve Ross was singing in the oak room,
I recall his lovely voice.
The bartender and the waiters
knew my wants without a word.
As I waited for my supper
a distinctive voice was heard.
Even in her eighties, Garbo struck a
regal tone.
Despite cancer's indignities
She would have honored any throne.
.
She knew I’d recognized her,
though I never said her name.
I 'd been just a child when she
had her last brush with fame.
She knew me from the brokerage house
Her account was with my boss.
We’d sometimes spoken on the phone
about a gain or loss.
I asked if she would like a drink
when next the barkeep came.
She eyed the Bourbon in my glass
and said “I’ll have the same.”
We were two people, both alone,
She famous, me, obscure.
For me it was her solitude
that acted as a lure.
I knew she’d never married
though there were lovers and affairs.
It was as if the single life
was answer to her prayers.
“You know I never really said:
‘I want to be alone.’
Its just I knew I had the strength
to be out on my own.”
She knew I had just lost my Dad,
The pain was very keen.
She said “I lost my Father back
when I was seventeen.”.
“I appreciate your kindness...
It‘s going to take some time.”
“If you know where your heart lies, ”
She said, ” You’re going to be fine.”
I paid the bill and we stepped out
into a warm and humid night.
I hailed a cab for her
and then we said our last good Night.
I never saw her face again
or beheld those striking eyes.
It was just a few months later
We got word that Garbo died.

Charlie Manson Blues
The seance has just been told,
The slaughter has just been sold,
To some people who wont get old,
Cause their skin is getting cold.
The room thats in the back,
Thats where I lost it all.
In the room thats in the back,
Lets go have a ball.
Cause Im slipping into the charlie manson blues.
Im a stupid dressed jesus son.
Im slipping into the charlie manson blues.
Im a stupid dressed jesus son.
Head burning up, chain-smoking,
Everybody here is choking.
Shrunken heads are joking,
And new-born skull is broke.
And the room thats in the back,
Is where I lost it all.
In the room thats in the back,
Lets go have a ball.
Cause Im slipping into the charlie manson blues.
Im a stupid dressed jesus son.
Im slipping into the charlie manson blues.
Im a stupid dressed jesus son.
Cause Im slipping into the charlie manson blues.
Im a stupid dressed jesus son.
Im slipping into the charlie manson blues.
Im a stupid dressed jesus son.
Whoa, goddammit!
Shit!

People And Their Situations Do Change
If it is true you knew,
How I felt in those times...
Where were you,
To help me empty...
Those many buckets of tears,
I cried.
If it is true,
My struggles with agony...
Had been something you knew.
If it is true you knew,
Who planted obstacles on my path...
Why were you not there for me at all?
And when I reach out to you,
You dismissed me and laughed.
If it 'is' true you knew,
What I was going through...
You said nothing about it,
Until several years have passed.
And,
If it is true you knew...
Anything about me at all,
Why have you waited until today...
To appear to say,
You are experiencing your own downfall.
To what degree of an empathy,
Do expect from me...
To receive?
'People and their situations change.'
I couldn't say that any better.
I agree.
Trust me.
And that person you say you knew back then,
Has matured to improve...
On my expectations of 'friends'.
And can see people and things as they are.
With a re-arrangement done to philosophies,
Without a passing of judgement on them.
'People and their situations change.'
I couldn't say that any better.
I agree.
Trust me.
And I've been blessed with a peace,
I am going to protect and keep.
And all I can do is wish you the best.
With a peacefulness I am feeling.
Hoping one day,
The same for you will come your way.
People and their situations do change.
Of that,
I totally agree.
But an empathy from me you wish to receive...
Was not from you,
Ever given to me from you to give...
To believe you can receive.
I agree...
People and their situations do change,
A lot!

Caught In The Sun
You're my distanced destination of choice
I'd give anything just to hear your voice
I couldn't pass you on the street
Without saying a word
Most times I missed the voice
That goes unheard
What if I missed you
You got caught in the sun
What if I did something
Never to be enough
People everywhere how could I be sure
Is it you that I have been looking for
What would it take for me to be comfortable
With you

A Tribute to Terry Fox (in iambic dimeter)
While just a teen,
And Cancer struck,
They took a leg
To save his life!
He liked to run
And loved to win;
But Cancer came
To play a game!
Now Earth was hell!
Yet, Fox would run
A marathon
For Cancer’s sake!
His aim was high-
To raise a fund
For Cancer’s fight,
Despite his plight!
But half-way through,
His Cancer spread
To both his lungs,
Despite the drugs!
He covered miles,
Before Life’s end;
Undaunted till
The last, he stayed!
Posthumously,
He turned so great;
His one-legged walk
For Cancer’s sake
Earned him a name
Indelible!
He is ‘alive’!
His run goes on
All o’er the world
In Cancer’s name!
The world had lost
A lad so young
Courageous
Exemplary!

Defenses
She'll never say it
This, nor the other:
She will never
ever
love again
The fence her fortress
forewarning 'bidding
'boding
The fence her offense
insipid speech of silence
tepid
The fence is fencing
The fence her armour
sword word arrow
passive aggressive
disconnected
sultry desultory dagger
But when she lowers her glasses
in such the way smiling
i steal a glimpse
there is no defense

It's Out Of My Hands
I'll just turn away, there's not need to watch her leaving
I don't want to let her see me cry
And the part of me that's breaking
Is The part that has been taking her for granted
And that's why she said goodbye
I twas me that let her down and left her lonely
But her leaving me was never in my plan
It started with my lying
And it ended with me crying
And she's taken all the lonely she can stand
It's out of my hands now
It's over and done
She's made her choice now
And I'm not the one
She'll find her future with some other man
It was all up to me but I just couldn't see
Now it's out of my hands.
She tried every way she knew to make me happy
She was more than just a lover and a friend
I was just too blind to see
And now she set me free
So it's best to walk away and let it end
It's out of my hands now
It's over and done
She's made her choice now
And I'm not the one
She'll find her future with some other man
It was all up to me but I just couldn't see
Now it's out of my hands.

Seem to have satanic signs all over you
and what is that make...
Does this music cause you to do what you do?
Manson: Is that directed at us or the parents?
Donahure: That's funny......Twiggy
Manson: Does the music cause us to do what we do?
Donahure: That's your little tape recorder...ok

Black 7
All felt is good here
All felt is just fine
Like a rapture waiting to dine on the divine
It moves across me and sets me free
Open oh so gently
Loss of time is felt here
Burning brick in my mind
Like a cancer growing in the minds of the divine
Don't roll me over
Cant help these things I can feel
Couldn't see them coming
But I've given into what's been given
Take a taste of what's within
You cast me over
Yet I've risen and I am real
I am the little cracked mirror
