We remember the heroes who ran into the burning buildings to rescue those trapped inside, and the dauntless passengers on Flight 93 who laid down their lives to save others, including almost certainly those of us in the U.S. Capitol.

Heroes
There are no super heroes in this world,
but there are heroes abound.
They are ordinary people
just like you and I.
They cannot leap tall buildings
with a single bound,
or scale walls with their fingertips.
They cannot fly without wings,
nor stop speeding cars
just by standing in front of them.
What they can do and do
is go out of their way to save lives.
They want no recognition
for the risks they sometimes take.
A spur of the moment action
is all their bravery takes.
They put their lives on the line
so others may live,
and then walk away from it
when it is all over
as if nothing happened at all.
These heroes have names and faces,
but are hardly known at all.
They are never out for fame,
just to help another living thing
that may be in distress.
Some are recognised and honoured;
others just go on their way
becoming unsung heroes
who just saved the day.
For all those unsung heroes
who are around us every day
this poem is my tribute
to you one and all
with a big thank you from us all.
You have shown us what real courage is.
You may not be known to many,
but to those you’ve helped
they will always remember you
as being the hero there
when they needed one the most.

Trapped Again
Here I am baby, right where you found me
Trying to break these chains that surround me
If I look a little different, its because Ive changed
Half-painted pictures are all that remains
I cant let my past mistakes
Let em bring me down
I aint waitin on no angel of mercy
Ive tried my best and I cant help myself
And Im trapped again
And I cant get out without losing you
And Im trapped again
Why cant you feel what Im going through
Im trapped again
I need an answer girl, cant you see
Im trapped again
Come and rescue me
Monday morning came so fast
What a fool to think that dreams would last
Close my eyes and its still so clear
Remember the night girl, the world disappeared
Cant let the hand of fate
Let it drag me down
I cant get no angel of mercy
I cam to stay but I got swept away
And Im trapped again
And I cant get out without losing you
And Im trapped again
Why cant you feel what Im going through
Im trapped again
I need an answer girl, cant you see
Im trapped again
Come and rescue me
Cant let the hand of fate
Let it drag me down
I cant get no angel of mercy
I cam to stay but I got swept away
And Im trapped again
And I cant get out without losing you
And Im trapped again
Why cant you feel what Im going through
Im trapped again
I need an answer girl, cant you see
Im trapped again
Come and rescue me
And Im trapped again
And I cant get out without losing you
And Im trapped again
Why cant you feel what Im going through
Im trapped again

On The Front Line
I am a fireman here at home
And I put my life on the front line everyday
To save the people from burning buildings
Or from car accidents
Someday I am very lucky because I am able to save people from burning
Buildings and car accidents
But other days I am not so lucky because it depends where the fire is on The building
Sometimes I have to climb all the way to the top of the buildings
Very fast to save the people from the burning buildings here at home
Other times the fire on the buildings happened on the lower floor
Yes there had been times that I could not save the people from the
Buildings here at home because the buildings here at home had been Engulfed with smoke and all the people that live there died
Yes that was a very bad scene to see
At the end of the night I go home for my kids and my wife
When I arrive home my kids and my wife are already sleeping in bed
I don't have very much time to spend with my children
Because of my work
I don't enjoy being a fireman but the pay is good
So I don't have anything to complain about
I never talk about my work at home
At home I talk about different things to my wife and kids
But I know that my day starts very early everyday

Rescue
You still scared, Ill be scared too, its cool though just holla back aight.
(verse 1)
All alone Im not feeling wanted
Try to wait but my bodys calling
Youre the one so why dont you come and rescue me
Ill be here while you on your way
Counting down till I see your face
Hurry up cause I love the way you rescue me
Now youre here come on out the rain
Soaking wet bodys glistening
Finally we can do something, so rescue me
Cant believe how its going down
Im so obsessed with this love I found
It got my head spinning round and round, just rescue me
(chorus)
All night long take me away to another place
Rescue me save me save me save me
All night long take me away to another place
Rescue me save me save me save me
(verse 2)
I come alive when I feel your touch
And I could drown in this pool of love
You could get what Im thinking of come rescue me
What you think couldnt be replace
If you was gone I would find a way
To get you back cause I love the way you rescue me
Laying here with you in the dark
I always knew that you could shift my heart
When Im with you I dont wanna stop so rescue me
Only you can fufill my needs
Take me away from this agony
I want to live out my fantasy just rescue me
(chorus 4x)
All night long take me away to another place
Rescue me save me save me save me
All night long take me away to another place
Rescue me save me save me save me

Burning Inside
Will these dreams still follow me,
On of dark obscurity?
Cant you see it up in the sky
As it kicks you in the face and lets you dye
You never have the answers
And now you tell me the facts of life
I really couldnt be bothered with you
Get out of my face and watch me die
Burning inside!burning inside!
Absolution and a frozen room
Are dreams of men below
I try to grab it but the touch is hot
The mirrors collapses, but the image can not
Im scared of darkness in a light
I scare myself cause I know Im right
I see the evil in youre savage eye
As it cuts right through the sky
Burning inside!burning inside!burning inside!burning inside!burning
Inside!burning inside!burning inside!burning inside!
Calling the mantra with a blade in the skin
For the demons within
I feel the pain is the death and decay
But the lesson never fades away
Too little shadows, turn away
Another man through the window pane
Another slave and a victim of fate
Another lesson in hate
Burning inside! burning inside!burning inside!burning inside!burning
Inside!burning inside!burning inside!burning inside!

We will never forget the passengers of Flight 93, who courageously confronted the terrorists, defeating another planned attack on America. They are the heroes for our times.
Dream Somehow
Come to the rescue now
Come to the rescue and stay for a little while
Come to the burning house
All of the ladybugs children are screaming fire
Come to the rescue now
Chorus
Tomorrow may change--tomorrow may change
Or it may never come
Tomorrow may change--tomorrow may change
But it may never come
Turn around--turn around--turn around--what do you see
Come to the rescue now
Come to the rescue before all our worlds collide
Life is a dream somehow
Life is speck of dust lodged in gods eye
Life is a dream somehow
Come to the rescue now
Come with a mission and come with a broken heart
Life is a dream somehow
Life is a dream and our lives are a world apart
Come to the rescue now
Chorus
Come to the rescue
Life is a dream somehow
Life is a nightmare and life is a bitter pill
(life is a dream somehow)
Life is a disneyland ride which is better still
Come to the rescue now
Life is a drowning pool
Life is a circus for fools just like you and me
Life is a mortal coil
Wrapped in cheap tin foil on a kitchen sink
Come to the rescue now
Chorus
Dreams somehow, come to the rescue now . . .

Help Haitians Now!
In just a few minutes of time,
The whole landscape was gone,
Undone by Mother Nature’s fury – Quake!
And no one ever imagined,
Catastrophe would strike,
Without fore-warning signs any that day!
The land was shaken severely;
Most buildings turned rubble,
With lakhs dead; maimed or missing; some still trapped.
The place was thrown in darkness fast;
Survivors took to streets;
Some groans and muffled cries for help are heard!
The world knew what had happened soon;
Relief trickled in late;
But no one can be truly blamed for it!
Concrete structures too had come down!
Utter chaos prevails;
The locals tried to save some lives, they could.
Why Haiti shook, no one can tell?
The victims need our love,
Consolation, help and care and prayers.
Can aid efforts be streamlined fast?
Will leaders work a deal?
Survivors need food, clothes and medicines!
There are some trapped and still alive;
There some dying fast;
Some are suffering agonizing pain!
The world can stall its scheduled plans;
Helping victims is prime;
Unite efforts to save unlucky lives!
O world! Act now and rather fast;
Time precious is ebbing;
Search the rubble; rescue lives that you can!
Pray God relents and showers grace;
Pray things get cleared out fast;
This is a test for faith and human love!
Be charitable, generous;
Show love for neighbors all;
Today ’tis Haiti; morrow could choose us!

Kicks of sons
I shall remember his kicks,
Inside my womb, in the cradle,
In the pram and while in hugs.
I shall remember his last kick
When he went abroad to settle.
As a mother, no kick hurts me,
Including his absence when I die
As he lives there high.

Unsung Heroes
Everyday somewhere in the world
another unsung hero is born.
Someone who is willing,
to lay his life on the line
to save another living creature,
on this wonderful planet of ours.
To go out of their way,
and risk life and limb to save something,
from danger and certain death.
These unsung heroes don’t want medals,
glory or even fame.
In fact, most would walk away afterwards,
without anyone ever knowing their name.
It is not that they feel guilty.
They just feel that they haven’t done
anything that is special
or something someone else
wouldn’t have probably done.
Therefore, to all those unsung heroes
this poem is just for you.
For all the lives that you save
each and every day.

Keep On Burning
(ian hunter)
Oh
Well there aint no sense
In burning bridges.
No, there aint no sense
In burning bridges.
If were sorry
Then its our failure
So says the jailor,
Fade? away.
Now there aint no debts,
Just destinations.
Like birds made out of steel,
They fly by.
Lost lovers in a moonlit night,
Broken lovers in a starless night.
I lay my clothes down at your feet
cause all I want is for you
To keep on burning.
Keep on burning, babe,
Keep on burning.
Yeah, keep on burning (burning).
And when that flame dies
Becomes an ember,
Remember, keep on burning (keep on burning).
Can you feel my warmth
Inside of you, babe.
Oh can you feel my blood
Running through your vains.
Dont lay the blame on me, girl,
Just like lovers often will
I lay my heart down at your feet
Oh all I want is for you
To keep on burning,
Keep on burning (burning)
Keep on burning, babe (yeah),
Keep on burning (burning).
cause when that flame dies
Becomes an ember,
Remember, keep on (burning, keep on burning) burning.
Yeah, (you gotta) keep on burning (burning),
Ooh, keep on burning.
Keep on, keep on, keep burning, babe,
Ah (you gotta keep on burning, burning) keep on burning (burning),
Baby (yeah) you gotta keep on burning, burning.
Keep on burning,
Keep ...

Heroes Live Forever
You are the light that shines in everyone
The truth that's there for all to see
You are the voice that speaks to everyone
You're the heroes we'd all like to be
You live the dreams that lie within our soul
With a passion that cannot be denied
You bring the whole world together as one
And we'll always be by your side
And all the world will join in celebration
And all the world will share the joy you bring
And all the power, the hope and inspiration
In all their glory the nations all will sing
Heroes live forever
Heroes live forever
Always we'll remember
Heroes live forever
Since the dawn of history
(Since the dawn of history)
In searching for our destiny
(In searching for our destiny)
To be the best that we can be
(To be the best that we can be)
Heroes...
Heroes live forever
Heroes live forever
Always we'll remember
Heroes live forever
Heroes live forever
Heroes live forever
Always we'll remember
Heroes live forever...

Quantum
Still twisting and suggesting
Some passengers
Play with my nerves
It paralyses dexterity
Inculcating anxiety
Can compromise my reason
Reach out of trance
How could I stop the entrance
Over the stress
I have to find the weakness
Involve a quest
Between my mind and myself
Head is like a burning house
What can I do for my rescue
Inverse the strike to take the lead
Then following what I believe
Ain't got the same conception
I'm now able
To push those spirits outside
My thought is free
And forever lives in me
Psychic transfer
I've stolen their unique power
Nothing can stop the evacuation
Nothing can stop the psychic vacuum

Here In Higglytown
(Theme to Higglytown Heroes)
Here in Higglytown
Things all jump around
Just like the Higglytown heroes
(Our heroes)
They all work together
Making fun together
Come see the Higglytown heroes
Eubie, Wayne, Twinkle, Kip and Fran
All hop and pop around
Soon they'll learn about real heroes
Who and why and how
Now
Here in Higglytown
We'll all jump around
And meet the Higglytown heroes
(Our heroes)
We'll all work together
Having fun together
With all the Higglytown heroes
Let's all play together
Save the day together
Come join the Higglytown heroes

Soap Star Joe
He's just a hero in a long line of heroes
Looking for something attractive to save
They say he rode in on the back of a pick-up
And he won't leave town till you remember his name
He's just a hero in a long line of heroes
Looking for some lonely billboard to grace
They say he sprung from the skull of athena
Think about your own head and the headache he gave
He's just a hero in a long line of heroes
Looking for action at a price he can pay
They say he's famous, but no one can prove it
Make him an offer just to see what he'll say
Check out the dashboard lights
Glowing all green and white
He feels safe in the dark
He wears his bluejeans tight
He's just a hero in a long line of heroes
Looking for something attractive to save
They say he rode in on the back of a pick-up
And he won't leave town till you remember his name
Check out the thinning hair
Check out the aftershave
Check out america
You're looking at it, babe

Burning up! my heart is like burnin up!
Burning up! my heart is like burnin up!
Burning up! my heart is like burnin up!
Burning up! my heart is like burnin up!
Sometimes you can be in love and having fun
And still not know whats goin on
Or on the other hand you separate, thinking that the feelins gone
Feels like forever when were together
I knew that we are destinied
So heres the last chance for the last dance
For us to bring back the dream
So baby come and rescue me
Im burnin up!
I got somethin for you to see
Im burnin up!
Baby come and take me there
Im burnin up!
Trust me you should
Hurry up!
Baby Im just burnin up!
Im burnin up!
Rap:
In the midnite
Wait a minute
I can be in a lonely place
Then along you come with the sweetest thing to say
And put the sun in my day
So baby come and rescue me
Im burnin up!
I got somethin for you to see
Im burnin up!
Baby come and take me there
Im burnin up!
Trust me you should
Hurry up!
Baby Im just burnin up!
Im burnin up!
So baby come and rescue me
Im burnin up!
I got somethin for you to see
Im burnin up!
Baby come and take me there
Im burnin up!
Trust me you should
Hurry up!
Baby Im just burnin up!

Heroes
Written by david bowie
I I wish you could swim
Like the dolphins
Like dolphins can swim
Though nothing
Will keep us together
We can beat them
For ever and ever
Oh we can be heroes
Just for one day
I
I will be king
And you
You will be queen
Though nothing will
Drive them away
We can beat them
Just for one day
We can be heroes
Just for one day
I I can remember
Standing
By the wall
And the guns
Shot above our heads
And we kissed
As though nothing could fall
And the shame
Was on the other side
Oh we can beat them
For ever and ever
Then we can be heroes
Just for one day
We could be heroes
We could be heroes
We could be heroes
We could be heroes just one day
