Remains Unseen

The hate that tears at my brain
Remains unseen to you
The self loathing and the pain
I'm swinging at the end of my rope,
If you only knew
I am lost without a hope,
There's nothing I can do
Oh.
I don't want to live this day
It's getting harder every day,
To face what I've become
The fear of what I have become
Remains unseen to you
A heart that's just gone numb
Remains unseen to you
I just want to close my eyes
And pretend this isn't true
Throw my hands up to the skies
There's nothing I can do
Oh.
This feeling of helplessness
And despair remains unseen to you
It's the cross that I must bear,
But it remains unseen to you
I dwell in a twisted reality of hate,
Remains unseen to you
Ugly thoughts, you cannot relate,
So I'll remain unseen to you

Song

I

Nay but you, who do not love her,
Is she not pure gold, my mistress?
Holds earth aught—speak truth—above her?
Aught like this tress, see, and this tress,
And this last fairest tress of all,
So fair, see, ere I let it fall?

II

Because, you spend your lives in praising;
To praise, you search the wide world over:
Then why not witness, calmly gazing,
If earth holds aught—speak truth—above her?
Above this tress, and this, I touch
But cannot praise, I love so much!

To the crew of a shot-out Ratel of 61 Mechanised Bn Grp (rondine)

What escape remains when you are trapped
by enemy landmine after landmine,
from the incoming shell’s wailing whine;
when boys, some just children are snapped,
in the flash when a armoured car is scrapped,
even if your bravery does holy shine;
what escape remains?

What little remains when thunder-clapped
of what someone could as a life define
when by law military service did confine
young men, whose lives death had overlapped;
what escape remains?

Love Remains (feat. Christopher Cross)

Album: When It All Goes South
When the last drop of rain has fallen
When the final note has drifted away
When the earth ceases to turn
And the last fire has burned
When the wind stops its ceaseless blowing
When the last wave has come into shore
When the sun has called it a day
And the stars have all floated away
My heart will still be yours, baby
My dreams will still be yours, darlin'
You and I will find nothing has changed
Love, love, love
Love, love, love (remains)
When we have grown old together
And the hourglass runs out of sand
Darlin' you will kiss me and then
Forever starts all over again
My heart will still be yours, baby
My dreams will still be yours, darlin'
You and I will find nothing has changed
Love, love, love
Love, love, love (remains)
My soul is one with yours, baby
Just to hold you drives me crazy
In your eyes I see... you feel the same
Love, love, love
Love, love, love remains
Love remains like an endless flame
Through the brightest joys and the darkest pain
In the end....
My heart will still be yours, baby
My dreams will still be yours, darlin'
You and I will find nothing has changed
Love, love, love
Love, love, love (remains)
My soul is one with yours, baby
Just to hold you drives me crazy
In your eyes I see... you feel the same
Love, love, love
Love, love, love remains
Love, love, love
Love, love, still remains
Love, love, love
Love, love, remains
Love, love, love
Love, remains
Love, love, love
Love, love, still remains
Love, love, love
Love, love, love
Love, love, still remains
Oh, love, love, love
Love, love, love
Oh, love, love, love

Dance Freedom In Every Heartbeat

if we cannot dance
with love and freedom
in our hearts for all

then we cannot hear
the rhythm of love
written into all beauty

that remains
in our heart
beat world

that remains
in beautiful
gentle souls

that remains
in gift love
softly sung

that remains in God’s
original gift vision
for created humanity

all souls
dancing to sacred
rhythm life

are previous
unique hearts
bliss wonder

all dancers
smile laugh
breathe love

Only Love Remains

And if you take your love away from me,
Im only going to want it back.
Ill probably pretend I didnt see,
But knowing me, Ill want you back again, and again
til the word has lost its meaning,
And love is all that stays. only love remains.
If you should ever feel that somethings wrong,
Im going to want to put it right,
To bring a happy ending to our song,
Ill carry on believing in a love.
If your love was to trickle through my fingers,
What would it leave me with?
Only love remains. only love...
Old enough and strong enough to stretcch across the world.
Taking the sand inside an oyster, changing it into a pearl.
Making another magig transformation,
Find the right boy for the right girl.
When all our friends have gone away and were alone,
Theres nothing left to show about,
Together well explore the great unknown.
Id say we wont be going out tonight,
Let tonight be the one that we remember,
When love is all that stays,
Only love remains... only love remains...

16 Shells From A 30-06

Words and music by tom waits
Plugged 16 shells from a thirty-aught-six
And the black crow flew through
A hole in the sky
And I spent all my buttons on an old pack mule
And I made me a ladder ftom a pawn shop marimba
And I leaned it up against a dandelion tree
Leaned it up against a dandelion tree
Leaned it up against a dandelion tree
Well I cooked them feathers on the iron spit
And I filled me a sachel full of old pig corn
And I beat me a billy from an old french horn
And kicked that mule to the top of the tree
Kicked that mule to the top of the tree
Blew me a hole bout the size of a kickdrum
And I cut me a switch from a long branch elbow
Im gonna whittle you into kindlin
Black crow 16 shells from a thirty-aught-six
Whittle you into kindlin
Black crow 16 shells from a thirty-aught-six
Well I slept in the hotter of a dry creek bed
And I tore out the buckets from a red corvette
Tore out the buckets from a red corvette
Lionel, dave and the butcher made three
You got to meet me by the knuckles of the skinny bone tree
With the strings of a washburn
Stretched like a clothesline
You know me and that mule scrambled right through the hole
Me and that mule scrambled right through the hole
Im gonna whittle you into kindlin
Black crow 16 shells ftom a thirty-aught-six
Whittle you into kindlin
Black crow 16 shells from a thirty-aught-six
Now I hold him prisoner in a washburn jail
And I strapped it on the back of my old kick mule
Strapped it on the back of my old kick mule
Bang on the strings just to drive him crazy
And I strum it toud just to rattle his cage
Strum it loud just to rattle his cage
Strum it loud just to rattle his cage
Strum it loud just to rattle his cage
Im gonna whittle you into kindlin
Black crow 16 shells from a thirty-aught-six
Whittle you into kindlin
Black crow 16 shells from a thirty-aught-six

A Landscape By Courbet

Low lies the mere beneath the moorside, still
And glad of silence: down the wood sweeps clear
To the utmost verge where fed with many a rill
Low lies the mere.

The wind speaks only summer: eye nor ear
Sees aught at all of dark, hears aught of shrill,
From sound or shadow felt or fancied here.

Strange, as we praise the dead man's might and skill,
Strange that harsh thoughts should make such heavy cheer,
While, clothed with peace by heaven's most gentle will,
Low lies the mere.

Aught

Azriel of Gerona taught
that if you look beyond the yesh
which is the aught you’ll find the naught,
the spirit that’s behind the flesh,
the truth that lies within the kernel,
hidden from the mortal eyes
of man by ayin that’s eternal,
enveloped by man’s lethal lies,
because Reality must be
eclipsed, however hard it’s sought
by I’s that lie between the Thee
which is the Naught beyond the Aught.

In Sacred Attunement: A Jewish Theology (Chicago: University of Chicago Press,2008) , Michael Fishbane writes about Azriel of Gerona (36–7) :

R. Azriel pondered the mystery and depth of infinite Being, and even tried to imagine the very borderline between the knowable realm of Absolute Reality and all that might be humanly conceived or known by human minds. In his discourse he calls the first realm Naught (or ayin) , because it is wholly beyond thought and thus virtually Nothing; and the second he deems Aught (or yesh) , because it is the realm where knowable (or discernable) reality becomes and is. But the point of transition is truly neither the one nor the other, but both: it is neither wholly naught, insofar as there is a gathering towards existence (where things are nameable and determinate) , nor is it wholly aught, since this domain is still characterized by the naught (where no thing is named or differentiated.) At this borderline we have something else. What we have is an imaginable sense of aught grounded in naught; that is, a sense that the all-unfolding reality and being of existence, whose source is God, is ultimately effaced in the depths of God’s Godhood. And though we may not follow R. Azriel in his particular mystical ontology of divine emanations, we may nevertheless strain to understand his teaching as a great truth of theology––still pertinent for our lives. For what he conveys through this meditation is that whatever may be humanly sayable about God and existence is ultimately grounded in and a manifestation of the Naught. To bring our minds towards this realization is the tsk of theology. This holds as much for our common view of everyday reality, where the Aught rightly prevails and predominates, as for our sense of God, where the Naught is the ultimate reality wherein all mindfulness is eclipsed.

There Is A Choice

there is this void
that i think, remains to be
a void forever

no matter how you
fill it up it remains
a void, a chasm and
you feel like falling
forever on a bottom
that seeminly is not
there at all

there is also this joy
that remains to be a joy forever
inside our hearts and it rises
and rises forever
you feel like flying up forever
and there is no roof
of cloud or sky

there you are
at the middle
of these two contrasts

look up and look down
you choose

My Hand Remains...

i have walked with you..
this lonesome road.
over the hills and
through the valleys deep.
across the plains,
from night unto day.
through storms, harsh winds,
and unforgiving rain....
my hand remains in yours!

we have sought shelter
by the way, underneath the trees.
built small fires, and huddled,
exchanging the words of the soul.
from season unto season,
as the bark grew grey...
my hand remains in yours!

and if there be God,
was this so ordained?
the rise and fall of empires,
the rise and fall of your breasts.
though casualities many,
loss drawn in chalk...
my hand remains in yours!

call it love, or war,
fertility, or desire.
the burning of the cross,
the jeers of the crowd.
or the lonesome caw
of the crows undead...
my hand remains in yours!

and soon we come
to the final fork...
time burned down longing,
to ashe and soot.
and bodies worn,
seek the bed of earth.
but if yours continues,
my soul will follow,
destiny, and pledge...
my hand remains in yours!

Not My Goddess

Unspoken
Unbroken
Remains nothing
Verbally
Remains something
Physically
As long as words don't follow
And there are no documents
Of our secret connection
Then it does not exist
But like a god
I shall have faith in it without the material proof
Your not my goddess
Your my fellow believer

Paradise (Not For Me)

I can't remember
When I was young
I can't explain
If it was wrong
My life goes on
But not the same
Into your eyes
My face remains

[I've been so high]
I've been so down
[Up to the skies]
Down to the ground

I was so blind
I could not see
Your paradise
Is not for me

Autour de moi
Je ne vois pas
Qui sont des anges
Surement pas moi
Encore une fois
Je suis cassée
Encore une fois
Je n'y crois pas

Chorus:

I've been so high
I've been so down
Up to the skies
Down to the ground

There is a light
Above my head
Into your eyes
My face remains

(chorus)

I can't remember
When I was young
Into your eyes
My face remains

Into your eyes
My face remains

thank you

You've Got It. Finally...You've Got It

A pain remains,
If I keep it sustained...
In my brain.

Repeat that,

A pain remains,
If I keep it sustained...
In my brain.

'By jove you've got it.
Finally...

I do?

Marriages

Marriage of two minds
Unites two ideas.
Both agree and disagree,
Yet each remains itself.

Marriage of two souls
Unites two spirits.
They dance, separate, and intertwine,
Yet each remains unique.

Marriage of two people
Unites two bodies.
They touch and are touched,
Yet each remains separate.

Marriage of two hearts
Unites two bloods.
They fill and are filled,
Give and are given to.

But when two people love,
The two hearts are shared,
And they are never the same!
The two hearts become:
One.
