The discipline of the writer is to learn to be still and listen to what his subject has to tell him.

Sting

My job as a musician is very different from that of a prose writer - which I don't ever see myself being - because my job is to miniaturize. I take a big subject like love and make it small, where a writer takes a small subject and must make it bigger.

Paperback Writer

(LennonMcCartney)
Paperback writer
Dear Sir or Madam, will you read my book?
It took me years to write, will you take a look?
It's based on a novel by a man named Lear
And I need a job, so I want to be a paperback writer
Paperback writer
It's the dirty story of a dirty man
And his clinging wife doesn't understand
His son is working for the Daily Mail
It's a steady job but he wants to be a paperback writer
Paperback writer
Paperback writer
It's a thousand pages, give or take a few
I'll be writing more in a week or two
I can make it longer if you like the style
I can change it round and I want to be a paperback writer
Paperback writer
If you really like it you can have the rights
It could make a million for you overnight
If you must return it, you can send it here
But I need a break and I want to be a paperback writer

I learn

I learn when I teach others
I learn when I listen
I learn when I read
I learn from children

I learn from animals
I learn from nature
I learn how to breathe
I learn how to live
I learn how to love
I learn how to be a human being

I'm always learning ...

Strength of interest

Listen for a fun;
Listen for news;
Listen for a reason;
Listen for a probe;
Listen to a scandal;
Listen to learn.
Listen to put it in use.
All evoke interest
And its intensity is
In ascending order.
But to get a listener
Surpasses all those interests.

Love A Mortal Who Writes

This be a farce dictation.
But then,
Love a being who writes

Because a writer
Is a liar.

I will lie about how the
Night flames with the warm waters
But you will never believe me
For I am a liar
With a pen and a paper.

Love a writer
For a writer is a soldier
Regardless of state:
A drunken soldier.
An arrogant soldier.
A morose soldier.
A burning soldier.
Whichever.

Love him
For he is a liar.

He is a prolix garden
Of petty things.
He makes the moon an empire,
And the Sun, an asylum.

He will lie about certain things
With sheer beauty
That none of you
Can contain.

Why love a liar, you might ask?
Listen to a painter as he lies
And he will guise himself with
A shallow palette of colors.
Listen to a businessman lie,
And he will be easily defeated
In a warfare of witticism.
Listen to a doctor lie
But then again, science cannot
Feign states or even a love.

And you can think of any other
Occupation that holds a lie,
And I will tell you

That we are all mortals
Capable of erring,
Of lying.

A mortal who writes elegantly
Will tell an elegant lie -
That is sure.
But then,
The world of mendacity
Is a thing that he loathes.

He will come to his senses
And stop lying.

Love a being who writes
For he is a liar -

A liar turned one
Because of many other lies.

A writer can hold a flame
Without getting his hands burned.
A writer can swim through
Oceans of filth
And not drown.
A writer can go on a warfare
With only himself / herself alone
And that is what
The others lack.
A chivalry of the heart,
The mind,
And soul.

For the world that lies
Behind the verses from
A flamboyant tongue
Will appear a lie to some,

But to those who can read
Adeptly, will take these
As genuinely stable truths.

Love a mortal who writes,
For a mortal who exudes
Confidences in pen and paper
Will learn the ways
Of mendaciloquence

And change his
Or her
Ways

And tell you
All the truths
That you take
As lies.

Dont Listen/ listen

Don't listen when they tell you that you can't be somebody well known someday
Don't listen
to the stupid remarks people say
Don't listen
when people spread rumors.

Listen
when people give you advise
Listen
when they try to bring you spirit high
Listen
because they always try to help you.

Don't listen
to the people who try to get you high
Don't listen
to the people who lie
Don't listen
to the people who tell you that your ugly.

Listen
to the people who make you smile
Listen
to the people and get to know them for a while
Listen
to the people for you may learn something everyday.

Listen To The Rain

(Rain)
Listen listen
Listen listen
Listen listen
Listen listen
Listen (listen) listen (listen)
Listen (listen) listen (listen)
Listen (listen) listen (listen)
Listen listen
Listen to each drop of rain (listen listen)
Aaah
Whispering secrets in rain (listen listen)
Aaah
Frantically searching for someone to hear
That story be more than it hides
Please don't let go
Can't we stay for a while?
It's just to hard to say goodbye
Listen to the rain
Aa...ah
Listen listen listen listen listen listen to the rain
Weeping
Oo...ooh oooh ooh oo...ooh
Oo...ooh oooh oh oh
Listen (listen) listen (listen)
Listen (listen) listen
I stand alone in the storm (listen listen)
Suddenly sweet words take hold
(Listen listen)
Hurry they stay for you haven't much time
Open your eyes to the love around you
You can feel youre alone
But I'm here still with you
You can do what you dream
Just remember to listen to the rain
oo...ooh oh oh oh oh
ooh ooh oh oh oooh
Listen

Poetry To Me

Poetry is engineering of words
Designed with discipline,
Conveying feelings of writer
Aesthetic and glowing sheen.

Creative, varied interpretations
Able to deliver evocative sense,
Literary art to educate, amuse,
Evoke emotive response.

Adorned by tools of precision,
Symbolism, stylistic elements;
Listeners feel magical attachment
Assonance and rhyme present.

Bring the inner of the subject out,
Speak more than the words told
Craze, remembrance, impression
For longer the listener’s heart hold.

Dont You Ever Learn?

Dont you ever listen?
Dont you ever learn?
The hand may find you
Its time to take a turn
You think this life is something strange
Youre ready for another change
But dont you ever learn?
Dont you ever listen?
Dont you ever learn?
The world is on fire
Your body doesnt burn
Kill yourself before receiving
Something out of all this breathing
Dont you ever learn?

Writer- a must?

Out of what does a writer write?
Out of hatred or perversion;
Out of denial or deprivation.

Why does a writer write?
To vent his anger or hatred.
To cry out from pain or lust.

How does a writer write?
By borrowing or distorting.
By modeling or duping.

For what does a writer write?
For an applause and a place.
It alone suits him, an idler.

What is the use of a writer?
For him to flaunt his skill.
For readers to idle away

Does the society need a writer?
Does a woman need cosmetics?
Writer is a part of civilization

A Writer's Dream

A writer's dream
You keep trying
Never denying to one day achieve
Despite what most believe

A writer's dream
You never give up
Regardless of what others may say
But wait patiently until that day

A writer's dream
Although it's been a while
It made you smile
To see your dream coming through

No matter how long it seemed to you
A writer's dream
You always believed in yourself
That's why your time has come

To be a successful writer
With the privilege of making much income
A writer's dream
You're happy to finally get this far

The world knows just who you are
Now this new sudden fame
Makes you feel like a star

To Meditate.

To meditate, to go off quietly on your own,

To not worry about anything, don't talk on the phone;

To sit apart, from the cares of the noisy day,

This is to meditate, to think, , to learn, to say;

To meditate, in a Christian way, the things of the Lord,

To read, to allow, to listen, to hear the Holy Word;

To learn to wait, and learn to listen, for what God will say,

Don't rush, don't panic, God will teach you in His own Way.

Four Main Types of Writers (personal opinion)

The Lonely Writer

Some writings tell me
This person is lonely
And is reaching out
For the touch of a friendly comment
These writers are sad, solitary,
Isolated, but good persons
And quite often very good writers

The needy juvenile writer

Some writings contain words
Or language meant to shock
And to offend.
These writers are lonely also
But in a different way.
These writers are simply saying
Like a little child
“hey! I exist! Someone better
Acknowledge me! ”
These writers can often write well
But usually don’t, can’t, or choose not to

The Spite Writer

This writer can be of either gender
But seems to be in a female majority
They’ve been spurned or rejected
Two-timed or lied to.
And they are going to vent their ire
In the most public way they can.
These writers can also be very good writers
But too often let their anger get in the way.

The Religious Writer

These writers show people passionate
And zealously devoted to singing the praises
Of the Lord and goodness and charity.
They’re probably austere, honest people
Who almost always write very well.
For the most part these writers seem
To want to spread the word and
At the same time tend to be rather singular
In the subject matter of their writings,
Rarely attempting other genres.

Learn

when broken
learn
when happy
learn
when bored
learn
when you float and does not know what to do
learn just the same
when filled with idealism
learn
when fed with what you cannot swallow
learn again
when the times get rough and you want to kill yourself
learn, learn, learn
you still have many things to learn
faces of life
bodies of life
learn, learn, learn everything
do not surrender

for in truth, you do not do what you only want
you will also do what you are told to do
no questions asked
or you will be left out
or you will be not a part of the picture
this life
learn, learn, learn, always learn
do not surrender
live, learn, live, learn
you will soon do all that others will tell you
learn, learn and learn again

and sooner you will have learned everything
and then do what you want to do
with firm conviction
you know now what is right
and that is what you will do,

now without even being told
you have become yourself

but still learn, learn, and learn again
because

you might be wrong,
try thinking some more, learn
relearn, learn, learn, learn, forevermore....

Too Late

Too late we listen,
too late we learn.
Too many years
when the fires did burn.
It all seemed cozy.
It all seemed warm.
We let time slip away
and then did form
a comfortable way to move along,
never asking, 'Is anythng wrong? '

Too late we listen,
too late we learn
to show compassion and show concern.
There were no signs to recognize.
There were no tears formed in the eyes.
We did not ask what we wanted to know.
We contented ourselves with when we go
we won't have to confront these things today.
They'll all be gone when we pass away.

Too late we listen,
too late we learn
and then we yearn
for another chance
to help discern
what was wrong?

Bertrand Russell

Nothing of importance is ever achieved without discipline. I feel myself sometimes not wholly in sympathy with some modern educational theorists, because I think that they underestimate the part that discipline plays. But the discipline you have in your life should be one determined by your own desires and your own needs, not put upon you by society or authority.
