If I were dropped out of a plane into the ocean and told the nearest land was a thousand miles away, I'd still swim. And I'd despise the one who gave up.

You Are Here

From liverpool to tokyo
What a way to go
From distant lands one woman one man
Let the four winds blow
Three thousand miles over the ocean
Three thousand light years from the land of the rising sun
Love has opened up my eyes
Love has blown right through
Wherever you are, you are here
Wherever you are, you are here
Three thousand miles over the ocean
Three thousand light years from the land of the surprising sun
Well now east is east and west is west
The twain shall meet
East is west and west is east
Let it be complete
Three thousand miles over the ocean
Three thousand light years from the land of the morning star

-nine!
From liverpool
To tokyo,
What a way to go.
From distant lands,
One woman, one man,
Let the four winds blow.
Three thousand miles over the ocean.
Three thousand light-years
From the land of the rising sun.
Love has opened my eyes,
Love has blown right through.
Wherever you are, (wherever you are)
You are here. (you are here)

You are here. (you are here)
Three thousand miles over the ocean.

Nearest Distant Shore

(written by gary harrison, tim mensy)
You fight for every breath
Caught without a ship in this sea of neglect
The one you swore to love is pulling you down
Youre in over your head
Chilled to the bone by the waters youve tread
Chart a course to land, before you drown
Swim to the nearest distant shore
Theres only so much a heart can endure
You gave it your best, forgive yourself
You cant hold on anymore
Its not as far as it might seem
Now its time to let go of old dreams
Every heart for itself
Swim to the nearest distant shore
He said for you hed change
Then hed let you down and watch you take the blame
Youre trapped between his lies and the great unknown
You vowed you would not fail
But this aint success its a living hell
Theres nothing left to lose, youre already alone
Swim to the nearest distant shore
Theres only so much a heart can endure
You gave it your best, forgive yourself
You cant hold on anymore
Its not as far as it might seem
Now its time to let go of old dreams
Every heart for itself
Swim to the nearest distant shore

Siren Of The Sea

Sea-
When the tide comes in
I will walk upon two feet
I will wander through the shallow waters
So we two can meet
When the tide goes out
I will join it in the sea
When the waves crash against the shore
Look upon them and remember me

Land-
I shall not walk upon the land
But I shall sing to you from the sea
The tune of the ocean
In such fluid melody
So jump into the water
And take me by the hand
Walk with me through the sea
For I cannot bear the land

Swim-
Walk into the waters
For that is where you will find me
Bathe with me in the ocean
And swim with me through the sea
For there you will always find me
The sea is my song
I will sing it to you as we swim
For this is where we belong

Walk-
I shall not walk upon dry land
Though two feet could be mine
My fins are what I am accustom to
And they suit me just fine
I will not walk upon dry land
For there I cannot be
So delve into the ocean
And you may swim with me

Land Of The Living

i found myself
in another world
i found myself
alive and well

i am the vapor
i am the gas
you be the angel
of everything

this is the land of the living
this is the land of reprisal
this is the land of the living
the living
the living

i lost myself
too wide a plane
i opened up
i'm not the same

i am electric
made of wire
you be the match
i'll be the fire

this is the land of the living
this is the land of reprisal
this is the land of the living
the living
the living
the living

in myself i try for you
walk a thousand miles to get us through
airways
jet planes
safe landings
no branding

land
land

this is the land of the living
the land of reprisal
this is the land of the living
the land of survival
survival

land

this is the land of the living
the living
the living
the living

A River of Orange

A river of the freshest orange makes her way towards my all,
I am the ocean of karma waters within which she may fall.

Here I swim within myself to honour the perfection of my bodies aspirations,
Here I swim within myself as a thousand spirits sour upon the joy of respiration.

A land of emerald grace hath absorbed the seed of faith and grown
Towards such magnificent proportions that I would never have believed
Had I not know that I would never be deceived by such angelic forms.

A bridge across the ocean casts shadow down upon the waters below,
The monsters of the deep stir in bubbling hibernation for the day,
They wait as the monsters of sleep their time to rise, their time to feed.

I am one alone within the waters orange, un-able to see below the surface,
Unable to see beyond my faith I am left as upon a raft of hope for happiness.
No one hath ever seen the land to which the bridge leads us in his direction
Yet in the distance the silhouette of hills are notated by the erection of their heads,
They too cast their shadow upon the waters deep though not a sun is there in the sky.

Am I to remain upon this voyage for eternity’s duration or am I to land upon those
Distant shores of promise that I was offered in the state of dreamtime wandering?
Have I left my love ones behind to no avail or is there reason for my failings in love?
For here, alone and still upon a karma tide I feel as one with the ocean all,
I feel as though I could fall into the sky and swim just as I feel as though
I have the power to move the mountains, arranging circles out of ancient stone.

The sky is an ocean deep and I’ll never swim whilst I sleep again.
The sky is an ocean deep and I’ll never swim whilst I sleep again.

Ahead Down The Highway

Im heading down this highway
Im heading down this road
Im heading down this highway
Its a long road, Im told
But I dont mind
No, no, no and I dont care
Its a hundred-thousand miles weve gotta go
Yeah!
Im sailing on this ocean
Im sailing on this sea
Im sailing on this ocean
To see what you can see
But I dont mind
No, no, no and I dont care
Its a hundred-thousand miles Ive gotta go
Yeah!
Im climbing through this forest
Im climbing through the wood
Sometimes its hard to see the light
But I know you could
But I dont mind
No, no, no and I dont care
Its a hundred-thousand miles Ive gotta go
Yeah!
Im drifting through the desert
Drifting through the sands
Climbing all the mountains
Checking out the land
Running with the rivers
Racing up the shore
And jumping off the cliffs, boys
cause all I want is more, all I want is more
And it wont be long now
till well be knock-knock-knocking on your door
And it wont be long now
till well be knock-knock-knocking on your door
And it wont be long now
till well be knock-knock-knocking on your door
Were heading down this highway
Were heading down this road
Were heading down this highway
Its a long road, Im told
But I dont mind
No, no, no and we dont care
Its a hundred-thousand miles weve gotta go
Yeah!

Separation

If I walk a thousand miles
and have no place to go
my adventure will be worrisome
and all the things I know
will make me want to hesitate
before taking another stride.
For all the places I leave behind
are places where I cried.

But I needed the walk to show me
that escape was not the way.
All I did was travel right along
and at the end of the day
those miles I walked were numbing
and gave me nothing new.
So I walked a thousand more miles
and came back home to you.

My feet were sore. My heart was sore
but then I saw your face.
And all those miles that I walked
never could replace
the familiarity, the same old scene
and how being with you feels.
Time and space can't fix all wounds
but the walking somehow heals.

Evil Wind

Ten thousand miles I've travelled,
Ten thousand miles an' more,
Now I found myself standing,
Outside of my babies door.
I've been gone such a long time,
I never thought I would return,
Now I found myself standing in the rain,
Waiting for your key to turn, yeah, yeah.
Evil wind, passed me by,
Troubled waters, pay me no mind. I have heard the thunder,
Rolling across the sky, I have seen the morning sun,
Burn on a mountain high, I have crossed the waters
That will keep them miles apart, Now I know the time has come
To make a brand new start.
Evil wind, passed me by, Troubled waters, pay me no mind, Yeah.
Fly plane I'm coming home again, Plane fly, like an eagle
through the sky, Evil wind, troubled water, Pay me no mind; pay me no mind, oh.
Oh, yeah.
Evil wind, passed me by,
Troubled waters, pay me no mind, yeah.

Your Smile... Ill Walk A Thousand Miles...

If only you would smile for a little while…
I’ll walk a thousand miles..
Just to see your smile…

I’ll do anything to make you smile just for a while…
Will you smile? ? ?
When your feeling blue…
Give me a clue…

When I see your smile… it reaches inside me for a thousand miles…
When I feel like there’s a thousand knifes inside…
I just remember your smile…
It can mend a thousand times…
Walking a thousand miles just to see you smile
Is soo worth my wild…
Your smile is not wild…
It’s so mild…

Your smile is soo free…
Its easy to see…
Makes my day worthwhile…
Smile for a while…
Hearts will get near…
Words will be dear…

Your smile melts an angry heart…
Such a gentle smile…
Soo just remember to smile…
And ill come from a thousand miles…

When It's Cold I'd Like To Die

Where were you when I was lonesome?
Locked away with freezing cold
Someone flying only stolen
I can't tell this light so old

[Refrain:]
I don't want to swim the ocean
I don't want to fight the tide
I don't want to swim forever
When it's cold I'd like to die

What was that my sweet sweet nothing?
I can't hear you through the fog
If I holler let me go
If I falter let me know

[Refrain]

I don't want to swim forever
I don't want to fight the tide
I don't want to swim the ocean
When it's cold I'd like to die

I don't want to swim the ocean
I don't want to figh the tide

Ocean Man

Ocean man, take me by the hand, lead me to the land that you understand
Ocean man, the voyage to the corner of the globe is a real trip
Ocean man, the crust of a tan man embibed by the sand
Soaking up the thirst of the land
Ocean man, can you see through the wonder of amazement at the oberman
Ocean man, the crust is elusive when it casts forth to the childlike man
Ocean man, the sequence of a life form braised in the sand,
Soaking up the thirst of the land
Ocean man, ocean man
Ocean man
[repeat verses]
Ocean man

What We Have Become

in the shallow part of the river
we decide to play: life is a game
we like to believe that
our arms drip like cold water
on the side of the glass
that you hold when you have felt
the first thirst

i shall not satisfy you
and so i have become the bait
of the fish
you have become more interested
on what i have to say

not to be mistaken as trivial
i have also taken more glances at you
i believe you
and so with this trust i ask you to go with me
to the deep part of the sea

i swim first then you follow
you know how to swim and you swim well in fact
like a fish

at the shallow part
i told you that nothing is hidden
nothing signifies anything
the stones are stones
and nothing else
your questions are just ordinary questions
which i have answered to well

and you believe me more until
we dive deep
deeper into the ocean floor
where the sands though silent
have more to say
than what i can tell you
the stones on the sides of the deep
now are telling you more
and you begin to understand
why for all those years
on that dry land
i have kept my silence
my distance.

Just Dropped In

To see what condition my condition was in)
(mickey newbury)
(yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in)
I woke up this mornin with the sundown shinin in
I found my mind in a brown paper bag within
I tripped on a cloud and fell-a eight miles high
I tore my mind on a jagged sky
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in
(yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in)
I pushed my soul in a deep dark hole and then I followed it in
I watched myself crawlin out as I was a-crawlin in
I got up so tight I couldnt unwind
I saw so much I broke my mind
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in
(yeah, yeah, oh-yeah, what condition my condition was in)
Someone painted april fool in big black letters on a dead end sign
I had my foot on the gas as I left the road and blew out my mind
Eight miles outta memphis and I got no spare
Eight miles straight up downtown somewhere
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in
I said I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in
Yeah yeah oh-yeah

Rocket Love

Do do do, do do do, do do do, do do do
Do do do, do do do, do do do-oo
I longed for you since I was born
A woman sensitive and warm
And that you were
With pride and strength no one would test
But yet have feminie finesse
And so much more
You took me riding in your rocket gave me a star
But at a half a mile from heaven you dropped me back
Down to this cold, cold world
Took me riding in your rocket gave me a star
But at a half a mile from heaven you dropped me back
Down to this cold, cold world
A female shakespeare of your time
With looks to blow picassos mind
You were the best
Your body moved with grace and song
Like symphonies by bach or brahms
Nevertheless, oh oh
You took me riding in your rocket gave me a star
But at a half a mile from heaven you dropped me back
Down to this cold, cold world
Ooh you took me riding in your rocket gave me a star
But at a half a mile from heaven you dropped me back
Down to this cold, cold world
Da da da, da da da, da da da, da da da
Da da da, da da da-aa
The passion burning in your heart
Would make hells fire seem like a spark
Where did it go
Just why that you would overnight
Turn love to stone as cold as ice
Ill never know
But you took me riding in your rocket gave me a star
But at a half a mile from heaven you dropped me back
Down to this cold, cold world
Baby you took me riding in your rocket gave me a star
But at a half a mile from heaven you dropped me back
Down to this cold, cold world
Cold, too cold, you took me riding in your rocket gave me a star
But at a half a mile from heaven you dropped me back
Down to this cold, cold world
Oh, oh, oh, took me riding in your rocket gave me a star
But at a half a mile from heaven you dropped me back
Down to into this cold, cold world
I would not do that to a dog
Took me riding in your rocket gave me a star
But at a half a mile from heaven you dropped me back
Down to this cold, cold world
You took me riding in your rocket gave me a star
But at a half a mile from heaven you dropped me back
Down to this cold, cold world
Ooh baby

Afternoon Musings 5

i am sorry darling
i am a ten or more thousand miles away from you

i am sorry darling
i could have given you a little love from my heart

but you are also twenty or more thousand miles away from me
i am indeed sorry my darling

all you know is just this distancing away from everybody
and i am learning a little of your game

point A running away from point B
not to make a bridge but just this long, long, long line

of separation, a debunking demarcation away from the land
to the sea and to the other sea

you never imagine that in doing so
from one far end to another end you finally form a circle

finding me and everyone inside you
don't ask me but the world is still round

Wasted Youthful Years!

When I was your waist high,
I saw you looking at the sky,
Told me that your love would fly,
To come back to make you shy,
Behind the door, where you would hide,
From the eyes of roving lads of village,
A woman displaced from the loved ones,
Planted in the land of forefather's hostile ground,
How many days I witnessed your hope,
While you reared the brood that your love gave,
I never saw you cried for your lonely status,
While the guys, who kept the end of the noose,
Some few thousand miles away, struggled,
To send the papers of money to feed and prosper,
Wives of emigrant workers and bosses,
May forget the needs of nature's nagging,
Taking only seven days in a week fasting,
Though a few have gone mentally disturbed,
Though a weak few have been tricked and spoiled,
The rest stand as the pillars to shoulder the culture,
all alone but in crowd, on the land of their children's father.

To swim the deepest ocean to see the smile on you!

To walk a thousand miles just to see you!
