Miffy has changed quite a lot since the early books, although I never realised it at the time.

If Only I Had Known
If only I had known, had realised,
I would not have looked out of the window
as the dashing young man
rode along our street,
his hat worn cockily,
riding a frisky bay horse,
hooves clattering, mane flying,
rearing up before our windows!
If I had only known, had realised,
I would not have dressed up for him,
or woven a scarlet ribbon
into my hair;
or risen so early, before dawn,
or rush to the edge of the village,
or got my feet soaked in dew,
or watched the road
to see if he would come along,
falcon on his wrist.
If I had only known, had realised!
If I had only known, had realised,
I would not have waited late into the evening,
sitting sadly on the little hill
near our old well,
longing and hoping -
Will he not come - my beloved,
Will he not come to water his horse?
If I had only known, had realised!

Adieu...
Adieu...
I remember...
moment it would rain,
we would all come out,
n got wet.
moment its festive time,
we would all come out,
n rejoiced.
moment its beautiful evening,
we would all come out,
n played soccer.
moment anything credible,
we would all come out,
n together rejoiced.
But Alas! ! !
it changed.
moment we got internet,
nobody came out,
to get wet.
moment we joined orkut,
nobody came out,
to get back in time n overlook.
moment we started posting,
mobody came out,
they were all roasting.
Its too much a change,
moment i go back,
i get back my life n fell busy,
so many goals to achieve,
n life so full of things yet to see.
I miss my real world.
Its still not too late,
i just need to be cautious.
Now having realised the importance of time,
I know time is very precious.
Now just wanna take leave,
so long has it been,
since i realised its nothin' but myself.

So Soon We Change
(rod stewart / chen, savigar, cregan, grainger)
Seems like only yesterday
We were laughing like a couple of kids
Fun we had when first met
Aint been around much since
Sharing every hour every day
Funny how time slips away
But theres no replacement, baby
When the good times fade away
Oh how soon we changed
Oh how soon we changed
Funny how soon we change
Oh how soon we changed
You remember caseys bar
And maxfields after dark
We were different people then
Inseparable never apart
But now the novelty is wearing thin
We spend most time arguing
It was all so easy then
Itll never be again
Oh how soon we changed
Oh how soon we changed
Oh how soon we changed
Oh how soon we changed
I thought I knew you inside out
But obviously I was wrong
Makes no difference what I say
We just dont get along
Face the facts it can never last
Were driffing apart real fast
Id gladly give up everything
To start all over again
Oh how soon we changed
Oh how soon we changed
Funny how soon we changed
Oh how soon we changed
Oh how soon we changed
Funny how soon we changed
Oh how soon we changed
Oh how soon we changed

I realised that the only time I really enjoyed music was when I was in the studio writing. So even though it was a six album deal, they saw quite early on that I wasn't enjoying it as I should be. I didn't feel there was anything behind it.

Harmaony, Peace And Love
When I was born on this earth
I didn't know the gist of harmony, peace and love
Being notorious was the most when I was a baby
Played in sand, made sand castles, caught insects
My acts became amusement for my kiths and kins
Time moved on and I moved with it
Sometimes behind, Sometimes ahead
Months changed, Days changed, Dates changed,
Years changed, I changed
Explored voyages
Discovered new roads
Met dignified and assorted mortals
Filled my life with colours
Didn't have hatred feelings for neither superior nor inferior
Witnessed unity, seldom times clashes
Found a space for respect for each other in every heart
But still didn't get the gist of harmony, peace and love
When the time came to leave earth
I found desolation in every eye
All had same heartbeat, same thoughts
Saw the shining stars twinkling
Greif came and glee went away
Seemed like time's halted
A juicy fruit is going to be borne
A fruit with harmony, peace and love
When I had gone, I.......
Realised the gist of harmony, peace and love
When I was born on this earth
I didn't know the gist of harmony, peace and love

Early Works - Time Out
Deep within the blackness
lay the barriers
known to all as time
with depths much deeper
than the boundaries of hell.
Within each boundary
lie one day,
one year,
and one century.
And still within the blackness
lies more barriers
known to all as the future
with heights higher than heaven,
which are guided by the hand of fate.
Time rules our lives
and fate rules time
to the extent
it causes destruction
or gives life to those in need.
Time can be a killer
and time can be a prayer,
time can be helpful
and time can be a menace.
Unlike anything on earth,
time has no ending,
where life can cease to be
time will carry on
even when all life has gone.
Time to us is just a word
for one cannot see time;
one cannot feel time,
though one can define time
as a passing.
We all live within a life cycle
where time is all around us.
Though we cannot see time,
it is a constant ruler
within our lives.
Time is measured for travel
in light,
in sound,
in speed.
Time is measured for life
in seconds,
in minutes,
in hours,
in years,
in centuries.
But time is only a word
and the meaning is so complex
that the real meaning
is hard
to explain.
Except that, life
as we know it
would never really
exist
without time.

Authors Note:
Originally the title of this piece was Time, but I changed it for Time Out as I realised I had already written two later pieces with the same title. I believe this was written in the late 1960 and was the first piece with the title. On of my very early poems from the construction of it. Please do judge me too harshly because of it.

For Once In Our Lives
Since this morning Ive been thinking how
Things have changed between the two of us
Weve been falling through the here and now
Its time for us to reinvest our trust
Cant you see for once in our lives
Now our love has finally come to ground
This flame we have is burning so bright
Burning for ever, now were back together
Since this morning Ive been asking why
Why we let this sweet love slip away
When we knew love, was for you and i
The reason we could face the darkest days
Cant we see for once in our lives
All the things we wanted have appeared
Now that we have love realised
Realised forever
For once in our lives theres no turning back
No running away and no covering our tracks
For once in our lives theres no one to blame
No broken hearts cause weve found love again
For once, for once in our lives
Since this morning Ive been so relieved
Theres no more pressure from within
I had this sense that you would get to see
There was no lasting love in him
For once in our lives theres no turning back
Maybe we cant believe, how things can be so wrong
Maybe its time that we learn
To reach out for the feeling of love
For once in our lives theres no turning back

This Is for You
I feel like I have been blind
It was not until I realised you were gone
That I realised how special you really are
Having you there, even though we never talked
It was a comfortable distance we kept
Keeping our conversations strictly limited
Now I look to roll back time
Ask you all the questions I have now
Tell you how beautiful I find you
How really special I think you are
Time is a privilege we all abuse
None of us stop to appreciate anymore
Those moments which seem to pass so fast
I wonder if I held my breath I could slow time
Capture that look once more in your eyes
See the smile and colour in you
Always you will remain beautiful
And given that time comes to an end
It’s a fact none of can contest
I want to tell you now if its not too late
I love you in so many ways

Since You Went Away
You said you couldnt tell the doormat from my face
You said if I had brains I would pawn them
Could be Ive finally gotten up off of my thumbs
Could be that youre the one that was on them
Cause the plants have grown
The dog came home
The bills are all getting paid
Things are much better since you went away
And Ive changed my looks
I read new books
Ive got friends that mean what they say
Things are much better since you went away
You said without your help I couldnt tie my shoes
You said without a doubt Id be stranded
Could be that you were right and you had to fly the coop
Could be the eagle finally has landed
Cause the plants have grown
The dog came home
The bills are all getting paid
Things are much better since you went away
And Ive changed my looks
I read new books
Ive got friends that mean what they say
Things are much better since you went away
When I was younger I was told without another
Id be incomplete and deflated
My chosen one has chosen to befriend another
And to my surprise -
Im elated!
Cause the plants have grown
The dog came home
The bills are all getting paid
Things are much better since you went away
And Ive changed my looks
I read new books
Ive got friends that mean what they say
Things are much better since you went away
[repeat]

You Changed My Life
You changed my life
Came along in a time of strife
In hunger and need
You made my heart bleed
You changed my life
You changed my life
Now the nature of man
Is to beg and to steal
Id do it myself
Its not so unreal
The call of the wilds
Forever at my door
Want me to fly like an eagle
Being chained to the floor, but
You changed my life
Came along in a time of strife
In hunger and need
You made my heart bleed
You changed my life
You changed my life
Eating with the pigs
Off a fancy tray
I was bold, I was looking good
And to have a nice day
It all seemed so proper
And so elite
Eating absolute garbage
While being so discreet.
You changed my life
Came along in a time of strife
In hunger and need
You made my heart bleed
You changed my life
You changed my life
You were glowing in the light
Being peaceably calm
Well, how often does a man dance
To the beat of the balm?
Your eyes were on fire
Your feet were of brass
In a world that you made
You were an outcast
You changed my life
Came along in a time of strife
In hunger and need
You made my heart bleed
You changed my life
You changed my life
Truce makers and partakers
Of every selfish whim
Her running to meet me running to her
And you running back to him
Their destruction of my confidence
Was like a sharpness of the tongue
I said: make my faith greater
But I was a little high strung
You changed my life
Came along in a time of strife
In hunger and need
You made my heart bleed
You changed my life
You changed my life

Test Week
Here comes test week one
There is less time for fun.
Boys are studying hard all day
For them to top in some way.
Some have english first than chemistry
Then physics, maths and history.
They stay up late till twelve 'o' clock
The studying never seems to stop.
For maths, boys practice many sums
And do so well that 'hundred' comes.
Books in the morning, books at night
Books, books, books all the time.
Then comes the end of 'test week one'
Now its time for all the fun.
Nest week inter-house soccer begins
The competitions tough....
....Never know who's going to win!

Smile
regrets are my bedfellows
I'm feeling so alone
I've messed up my life pallette
now it's colored up with woes
just two simple words
have changed me to no end
just two simple words
have changed me to no end
just to simple words
to quote you
only friends
**I miss your smile
when I'm sleeping all alone
I'm in our house
and your not ever home
changed residence
stopped paying out the rent
and girl I miss your smile
When I drive by your house
it makes me want to cry
each time I see your face
it makes me want to die
so why do I sit back
and look at picture books of you
I guess I'm just messed up
and that's all I can do

Books
The universe (which others call the library). . .
-Jorge Luis Borges
Books which are stitched up the center with coarse white thread
Books on the beach with sunglass-colored pages
Books about food with pictures of weeping grapefruits
Books about baking bread with browned corners
Books about long-haired Frenchmen with uncut pages
Books of erotic engravings with pages that stick
Books about inns whose stars have sputtered out
Books of illuminations surrounded by darkness
Books with blank pages & printed margins
Books with fanatical footnotes in no-point type
Books with book lice
Books with rice-paper pastings
Books with book fungus blooming over their pages
Books with pages of skin with flesh-colored bindings
Books by men in love with the letter O
Books which smell of earth whose pages turn

Early In The Morning
Early in the morning and I cant get right
Had a little date with my baby last night
Now its early in the morning (early in the morning)
Well its early in the morning (early in the morning)
Now its early in the morning
And I aint got nothing but the blues
Went to all the places where we used to go
Went to your house but you dont live there no more
Now its early in the morning (early in the morning)
Well its early in the morning (early in the morning)
Early in the morning
And I aint got nothing but the blues
Went to your friends house but she was out
Knock on your fathers door and he began to shout get out there boy
Early in the morning (early in the morning)
Early in the morning (early in the morning)
Early in the morning
And I aint got nothing but the blues
Went to doogie chain to get something to eat
Waiter looked at me and said you sure look beat
Now its early in the morning (early in the morning)
Early in the morning (early in the morning)
Well its early in the morning
And I aint got nothing but the blues
Well its early in the morning
And I aint got nothing but the blues
Well its early in the morning
And I aint got nothing but the blues

Time Changed Everything
John rainey-atkins/bowie
The town is not the same
My friends dont know my name
Lots of things have changed
Things seem so wrong
Since Ive come home
Its been a year or so
Since I had to go
I wonder if shes waiting
Or has she betrayed
The promise she made
Now as Im walking to her
My doubts are too much to bear
Was she faithful or untrue?
If Ive lost her, what will I do
Now, were face to face
As her eyes meet mine
The answer I find is
Time changed everything
Time changed everything
Time changed everything
But her

Predator Prey Early Morning
i could be an early bird today
that catches no worm
but i do not really mind
being early is enough
having to find something to eat
because there is nothing yet
to prey upon a chance
is another
at most
an early bird does its best
one time
after another
time
till it is finally
eaten
by another early predator
who makes
the same complaint

Corruption
A pretty girl entices all,
Traps them in her beauty,
In no time in love they fall,
Forgetting their way and duty.
They commit sin, but at last find,
The cruel witch has made them blind.
Their sin’s made them paralysed,
They can’t work without bribe,
Plight of every field is realised,
Takers of it are givers too, scribe,
This epidemic is increasing day by day,
It may end if whole system is changed someday
