I'd like to do a pop album with an R and B influence. I definitely want to have those big ballads with the uptempo hits as well.

As an artist, you dream about accumulating enough successful music to someday do just one greatest-hits album, but to reach the point where you're releasing your second collection of hits is beyond belief.

When we were on the road, I found out that my greatest hits album went Gold. They freaked out. Things really came to a head when we started arguing about a Van Halen greatest hits package.

The Border Ballads, for instance, and the Robin Hood Ballads, clearly suppose a state of society which is nothing but a very circumscribed and not very important heroic age.

Truth Hits Everybody
Sleep lay behind me like a broken ocean
Strange waking dreams before my eyes unfold
You lay there sleeping like an open doorway
I stepped outside myself and felt so cold
Take a look at my new toy
Itll blow your head in two, o boy
Truth hits everybody
Truth hits everyone
I thought about it and my dream was broken
I clutch at images like dying breath
And I dont want to make a fuss about it
The only certain thing in life is death
Take a look at my new toy
Itll blow your head in two, o boy
Truth hits everybody
Truth hits everyone
Where you want to be
Wont you ever see
Truth hits everybody
Truth hits everyone
Now

Missys Finale
Yo, you have come almost to the close of my album
But before I go I just wanna thank God for staying with me
Through my ups and downs and through my whole period
Of doing this album, I want to thank timbaland who came up with
The beats and all the people who appeared on my album
Make it hot, aight, Im out

With this new album, I prepared for it a long time, and I was happy with the songs and the production. I felt that I proved myself with the first album, and with this new album, I just want to share some of my music. And that was always my feeling and my intention.

I had no album title, and the album is like a journey in that it's a complete body of work. It's not just a couple of catchy songs and filler, so I felt that I needed to capture the essence of the album.

I got a chance to have my dream come true, and I wanted to make sure I made the decision as to when I dropped my last album. If I don't feel like this album is an incredible piece of work, then I'm cool with the albums I've done. I don't have to put out another album.

Love and influence
My love for my son was absolute
As my influence on him was total
When he was a child.
My love for my son was patchy
As my influence on him was partial
When he has become a father.
My love for my son was little
As my influence on him is nil
When I became invalid.
Influence controls love.

Three Hits
Three hits to the heart son
And its poetry in motion
One could send you down the river
Threes a strange way to be delivered
Would you trade your words for freedom
Thats a barter for a blind man
Three hits to the heart son
And its poetry in motion
Are you leveed like a treasure
Only words can help me find you
And this worlds a fickle measure
I would painfully remind you
From a wise man to your red hand
You lay covered ion our best sins
Three hits to the heart son
And its poetry in motion
Well I dream you constant stranger
With your best bloods and your anger
You say mother do you claim me
My beloved do you blame me
Well the first two might release you
But the last one sings in me son
Three hits to the heart son
And its poetry in motion
Three hits to the heart son
And the last one sings in me

Old Songs And Rhymes and Ballads
I love old fashioned earthy stuff old ballads and old rhyme
To modern sophisticated writing I'd prefer it anytime
But that is my opinion and though everyone's opinion ought to count
The opinions of one person to little does amount,
I love old fashioned earthy songs I love to sing along
with the folk or ballad singer of a loved familiar song
Perhaps I do seem boring as old fashioned I am known
But to each their preference like 'tis said to each their own,
I am not anti modern writers in case you get me wrong
But I could listen to ballads and rhyme in an old pub all night long
And with what I say if you are one who choose to disagree
You are entitled to your opinions and that's okay with me,
I may seem a bit dated but give me the earthy stuff
Old songs and rhymes and ballads for me are good enough.

Under The Influence
Written: paul politi and barry white
Floating on a cloud
Feeling high
It happens every time
Whenever Im with my guy
Tripping on love
And it feels so good
I cant help myself
And I wouldnt if I could
'cause hes got that certain touch
That Im addicted to
Loves really got a hold on me
And theres nothing I can do
Oh im, Im under the influence of love
And I know theres no doubt about it
Im under the influence of love
And I know I cant live without it
Moving over close
Cant get enough
Ive just got to have all of my babys love
And when Im alone
Feeling sad and blue
He gives me a shot of love
And Im as good as new
Helpless as I am
As if I dont care
His tenderness is what I miss
Whenever hes not here
Oh im, Im under the influence of love
And I know theres no doubt about it
Im under the influence of love
And I know I cant live without it
There just aint no one else
Who can bring out the love in me
So many guys have tried
They tried to capture my eye
But hes the only one I see
Oh, Im Im under the influence of love
And I know theres no doubt about it
Im under the influence of love
And I know I cant live without it
(repeat to fade)

Truth is, you make albums, and some of those songs are hits, and some of the greatest hits albums have songs that weren't hits. You have a career, the reason why we're still around 10 years is that we do have successful songs.

The Gold & Beyond
This song was first released on the greatest hits vol 3 album. it is the only album this song appears on.
On a snow crystal morning
Some place close to heaven
On the side of a mountain
In a race for the sun
In a matter of moments
The dream of a lifetime is won
Theres a fire in the heart
And it feels like the hunger
The spirit is burning
Consumed by the flame
To be one of the best
Of the best in the world
Is its name
To be faster and farther
Than anyones ever before
To be braver and stronger
And truer and then even more
To be all that you can be
And all that youve ever longed for
In the eyes of a mountain
All people are equal
In the eyes of all people
Our souls can be seen
In the course of our struggle
Well know what humanity means
To be all that you can be
And all that youve ever longed for
We gather together
To face one another
We gather in silence
And sing in the sun
We gather in peace
To go for the gold and beyond

If you had a record company believing in you enough to cut an album then you had better have the ability to work the album on the road.
