It is the role of good journalism to take on powerful abusers, and when powerful abusers are taken on, there's always a bad reaction. So we see that controversy, and we believe that is a good thing to engage in.

Child Abuse
How many pleas go unanswered
as their cries echo through the night?
Too many, I am afraid to say
as we hear about child abuse almost every day.
Committed by those who are most trusted,
our guardians of the young
are the ones who defile
the young lives in their care.
What about those who are abused
will they become abusers one day
for the treatment they have received?
That question will remain unanswered
until sometime in future years.

Author's Note:
Although this poem may depict that all child carers are abusers, they are not. Although in the news in England of late there have been several cases in which child abusers have been people who were in charge of children. I wish now to apologise to the genuine carers that are perfectly innocent if they feel offended by my poem.
This poem was written to underline a question do those abused in turn become abusers.

Chain Reaction
Something bout the way
The moon and the stars are moving across the sky
Something in the still night air is telling me now is the time to try
Ive been scheming, dreaming up a plan of how to get to you
Now conditions are right deep in the night
To do what Ive got to do
To start up a chain, chain, chain, chain reaction
Chain, chain, chain, chain reaction
Im no fool, Ill be cool
Its a powerful thing that Im trying to do
Gonna fix it up, mix it up good
Handle with care like I know I should
And blow it sky high, sky high
With a chain, chain, chain, chain reaction
Chain, chain, chain, chain reaction
Set a spark to the heart
That will start up the soul attraction
Get to the mystery of the chemistry
Chain, chain reaction
Chain, chain reaction
(repeat)
That fires up the satisfaction
Chain, chain reaction
Chain, chain reaction

My Dream Has Become My goal -My Goal Has Become My Dream
I have traveled down so many roads
In the dreams that were untold.
Dreams take us to places we’ve
Never been before.
Opening up our minds
And opening different doors.
Dreams of hope, dreams of love
Sent from up above.
Dreams that set your heart fluttering
Like the wings of a bird
Seen but hardly heard.
Dreams of goals that we set
But haven’t gotten to yet.
But my dream is not a simple one
I want to change the bad s that were done.
To abolish human trafficking and child abuse
Although it seems like it’s no use.
The almighty dollar is the bottom line
And has been with us since the beginning of time.
Traffickers make millions- something we will never see.
But at least we know that we are living free.
Then there are the abusers
both men and women alike
Who take advantage of the weak
Because they can not fight.
Child abusers, women abusers
They are all the same
They put blame on society
And yet they have no shame.
You know you have a problem
So medical help you should seek
This form of aggression has
reached its boiling peak.
To some this is the norm for what
They have gone through
But taking it out on others
Is not what you should do.
To stop all of this is my dream.
I will spread the word to all
Who love to read
We must tell everyone
We must plant the seed.
Let us change the laws to help
All the abused and the oppressed.
Abusers and traffickers are not concerned
About going to hell.
Just look at their smirk and you can tell.

His Reckoning
No man lives forever
Even a powerful one,
He will die sooner or later
With just a breath, he's gone.
Dictators, presidents-
Whatever their positions,
No escape when Death is sent
No political negotiations.
God has a way of removing
Puny abusers of power
For they soon end up dying
From illnesses that plague after.
Man's pride should bring him low
For he is just a mere mortal,
His life, he does not know
Is held by the God Who's eternal.

Powerful Thing
(written by al anderson and sharon vaughn)
Ive never seen two people in my life
More determined to ignore the obvious
We better stop thinking
Let our hearts start doing the talking
Youd have to be stone deaf dumb and blind
Not to see whats going on with us
So lets jump in
And get over our fear of fallin
cause what we got here
Is a powerful thing
Its a powerful thing
More than three words
And a diamond ring
It can open up the heavens
Make the angels sing
Our love, baby, is a powerful thing
We started out strangers on a two-way street
Neither one of us lookin to fall in love
But we dont need us a map
To know were headed in that direction
Well, its out of our hands
And over our heads
Its something thats bigger than both of us
Turnin back nows completely out of the question
cause what we got here
Is a powerful thing
Its a powerful thing
More than three words
And a diamond ring
It can open up the heavens
Make the angels sing
Our love, baby, is a powerful thing
Stronger than the force of a driving wind
Hotter than a forest fire
There never has been and there never will be
Nothing like the power of you and me, yeah
Its a powerful thing
Its a powerful thing
More than three words
And a diamond ring
It can open up the heavens
Make the angels sing
Our love, baby, is a powerful thing
Its a powerful thing
Its a powerful thing
More than three words
And a diamond ring
It can open up the heavens
Make the angels sing
Our love, baby, is a powerful thing

Since the governments are in the pockets of businesses, who's going to control this most powerful institution? Business is more powerful than politics, and it's more powerful than religion. So it's going to have to be the vigilante consumer.

Freedom is a Powerful Word
freedom is a powerful word
filled with glori and brightened eyes
freedom is a powerful word
where no black child is left behind
the despair of no hesitation
the depair of no education
freedom is a powerful word
freedom is a powerful word
where everyone gets a chance to be one
freedom is a powerful word
where a black man can raise his son
we got freedom
but we dont respect it
black boys droppin out of school
black girls gettin pregnant at early ages
these people fought for our rights
but all we do is abuse it
like i said freedom is a powerful word
are you sure we are free
why are we killing our own race
we are gettin involved in the wrong stuff
like gangs and selling drugs
smokin weed and makin d's
it aint right
freedom is a powerful word
if it is so powerful
dont abuse it

Good is better than power.
Must be a king powerful, besides being good.
Else, he is a child in the cradle of others.
Must be a king good, besides being powerful.
Else, others are as child in his cradle.
Safety counts over speed.

The Power Of Love
Oh the power of love can make you leap tall buildings
Love can make you cry like a little bitty child
Oh the power of love can make you sad and lonely
Or wanna kick up your heels and face the world with a smile
Love has the power of a giant with a touch like a feather
Love can make your sky turn blue when it's stormy weather
Love can make you feel so cold or burn a hole right through your soul
The most powerful thing in the world must be love
Oh the power of love...
Love can make your whole world shake like a large explosion
Or love can leave you quiet and still if it takes a notion
Love can take you way up high and make you jump thinkin' you can fly
It's a powerful powerful thing the power of love
Oh the power of love...
The most powerful thing in the world must be love

I wanted to write something from a child's viewpoint... Five of the characters I have played in movies have either been abused or became abusers, themselves, and I just kind of felt like there was a need.
Psycopaths
On the news we see abusers,
Are they psycopaths.
Drug abusers in the schools.
Are they psycopaths.
Confused sick people,
Are they psycopaths.
The misfits, unfit depicted as mad.
Are the ones paranoid,
Also psycopaths.
And the people who annoy,
Are they psycopaths.
What about the crooks,
Are they psycopaths.
And what about the people everyday I pass.
And what about the people everyday I pass.
Are the ones who lie and cheat,
Are they psycopaths.
And what about deceivers,
Are they psycopaths.
And the cops who beat up people,
Are they psycopaths.
Is everyone I see,
A psycopath.
Is everyone I see,
A psycopath.
And what about the homeless,
Who have no cash.
Are they and the hungry,
Psycopaths.
And what about the people everyday I pass.
And what about the people everyday I pass.
Are the rich and snobby people,
Also psycopaths.
Are the people who don't eat,
Are they psycopaths.
And those who watch their diets,
Are they psycopaths.
And those playing videos,
Killing fast!
Are children being raised,
As psycopaths.
Are children being raised,
As psycopaths.
And will psycopaths,
Have all of the cash.
And will psycopaths,
Have all of the cash.
And will psycopaths,
Have all of the cash.
Are children being raised,
As psycopaths.
And will psycopaths,
Have all of the cash.

Too Much Of A Good Thing
Smiles in the morning
As warm as sunshine
Kisses when I lay down at night
And 2 loving arms
To console me
I should be scared, it's so right
But, too much of a good thing
Is a good thing
Feelings like this can't be wrong
And, too much of a good thing
Is a good thing
And we've got a good thing going on
You look in my eyes
And see my thinkin'
I know when you're happy, when you're sad
Someone said
It's too perfect
But, I don't think what we have is so bad
Cause, too much of a good thing
Is a good thing
Feelings like this can't be wrong
And, too much of a good thing
Is a good thing
And we've got a good thing going on
And we've got a good thing going on

Briefs 6
The Universe is neither good nor bad-
Good is mere cultural consensus
And what is profitable for you to think or do
As a member of a group
With an assigned role therein.
Good is what your parents told you was good.
Good is what your peers told you was good.
Good is what the Press told you was good.
Good is what your payer tells you is good
Good is what you wouldn't know was good
Had you not been told, for good is expediency.
And whatever determines the best chance of getting paid.
And if you can clothe expediency with idealogy, oh my-
Then you've really got something!
Good unallied with expediency? Well,
'Do unto others' is still the best code
for the man who wants to do the right thing.
Using this code you cannot go wrong.

Ive Got A Good Thing
(jerry ragavoy / mort shuman)
I got a good thing
I got a good thing
I got a good thing going
Take the sun and take the moon
And stars that shine so bright
All I need is my guy
And everythings all right
Everything about him thrills me
The way he looks at me just kills me
Hes got a way of getting to me
Every kiss just goes right through me
I got a good thing
You know I got a good thing, baby
I got a good thing going
Take the rainbow from the sky
Oh, I dont really care
I will have a pot of gold
As long as he is there
I never knew such sweet affection
And its all in my direction
If he left theres no mistaking
My poor heart would start to break and
I got a good thing
You know I got a good thing going
I got a good thing going, yeah
I got a good thing, yeah
You know I got a good thing going
You know I got a sweet thing baby
Everything is everything, baby
Everything is uptight, all right, out of sight
Yeah, I got a good thing going, yeah
You know I got a good thing

The Powerful Woman
The powerful woman does not raise her voice
She does not tell you what to do
She does not ask you for favors
She weeds her own garden
She tends to her chores
She listens to your woes
She shows you how to make jello
She tenderly prunes the tomato plant
The powerful woman moans when her own child dies
But she goes on, tending to her chores
The powerful woman lends shelter
Whether it be a bird with broken wing
Or a young man lost
The powerful woman has no face
She has no name anyone has heard before
The is an image, a memory, a shining light
Glowing through a stained glass window.
