I was offered a choice of a flat salary up front or a percentage of the film's future earnings. I took the up front money. Nobody could have figured what Halloween would ultimately become.

Or want to stay a child?

Up Front

(r. parker, jr.)
I wanna get it straight up front
Lets tell each other what we want
So we can both decide up front
If we like it or we dont
Just as long as Im single
Im gonna do what the heck I please
And I dnt feel its fair
For you to be restricting me
If you want a serious commitment
You gotta first make one yourself
If you want it one sided
Youd netter find somebody else
I wanna get it straight up front
Lets tell each other what we want
So we can both decide up front
If we like it or we dont
Now Ive been in relatioships
Where Ive given all of myself
I did everything for him
He did everyrthing for someone else
Now dont musuderstand me
Im not prejudging you
But if you plan to fool around
Let me know so I can do it too
I wanna get it straight up front
Lets tell each other what we want
So we can both decide up front
If we like it or we dont
Now I know everything cant be predicted
Because love dont work that way
But we can at least agree on the rules
Before we start to play
I wanna get it straight up front
Lets tell each other what we want
So we can both decide up front
If we like it or we dont

Trick Or Treat

It is time for Halloween
oh yes that time of year
We carry bags of candy
trick or treat we shall hear

They gather on the porch
or maybe the front gate
Arms holding their bags open
saying trick or treat as they wait

Count Dracula is waiting
and Wolf Man is too
There may be a Hobo
or a Princess or two

I dropp candy in each bag
and act as if filled with fright
For this is Halloween
it is a children's night

Then I have an idea
for this special night
A simple bed sheet
may cause some fright

I hear children talking
as they stroll down the street
And I giggle to myself
about the ghost they shall meet

They rattle the front gate
trick or treat rolls off each lip
I round the corner, arms raised
give out a big WOOO, then slip

No bones were broken
but my ego was bruised
My dog had left her own trick
and the children were amused

I guess in the night
we never know what we will meet
It's Halloween
Trick or Treat

Down the seafront tonight - Pinewood Royal

Tall ships in the harbour
Waiting for a sailing far away
Stones across the water
Herring gulls drifting across the bay
Painted lady in the garden
The Blackcap sings from early dawn
The warm air slumbers
Soothing the Trevello Lawn
On the red cliffs of The Berry
The lighthouse shines till early dawn

We're going down
Down to the sea front tonight
We're going down
Down to the sea front tonight
We're going down to where the lights, the lights are shining bright
On the sea front you can see the rows of coloured lights
We're going down
Down to the sea front tonight
We're going down
Down to the sea front tonight
Just you and I

The bright lights sparkle
On the sea front walking by
The ice cream parlour
Fairground rides and coconut shy
Ocean going liners
Cabin lights blazing wave goodbye
White horses in the moonlight
Constellations across the sky
Red glow from leaded windows
A summer's evening in July

We're going down
Down to the sea front tonight
We're going down
Down to the sea front tonight
We're going down to where the lights, the lights are shining bright
On the sea front you can see the rows of coloured lights
We're going down
Down to the sea front tonight
We're going down
Down to the sea front tonight
Just you and I

In Front Of Me

It's hard to breathe, from underneath
Smothering in all your heat
It's hard to take, It's tough to break
So I don't make the same mistakes
The same mistake, (4x)
Out in the yard is where I play,
Don't come in cause I'm afraid
You saw my face, I faced my friends
Do I tell or just pretend?
I found a friend, a friend who knows
Who says he'll help but then he goes
And then he goes (4x)
In front of me, In front of me, so far from me, yeah, yeah
I'm in the way, the way it goes, so go away, yeah, yeah
In front of me, In front of me, so far from me, yeah, yeah
Fingernails, filled with dirt
If you don't tell, you don't get hurt
I cry for help, I pray to God
Another tear he tries to rob
To rob me of, my dignity
Cause sanctuary's far from me
Far from me (4x)
In front of me, In front of me, so far from me, yeah, yeah
I'm in the way, the way it goes, so go away, yeah, yeah
It's hard to take, a piece of me, so peacefully, yeah, yeah
In front of me, In front of me, so far from me, yeah, yeah
So broke inside, don't run away
And find another place to stay
And make our inhibition go away
Because I'm so afraid, yeah, yeah
It's hard to breathe, from underneath
Smothering in all your heat
It's hard to take, It's tough to break
So I don't make the same mistakes
In front of me, In front of me, so far from me, yeah, yeah
I'm in the way, the way it goes, so go away, yeah, yeah
It's hard to take, a piece of me, so peacefully, yeah, yeah
In front of me, In front of me, so far from me, yeah, yeah

To be a super power

Who fears you in front
Will hate you behind.
Who praises you in front
Will abuse you behind.
Who pleases you in front
Will avoid you behind.
Why should you strive hard
To become a man of power?

Right in Front of the Army

"Where 'ave you been this week or more,
'Aven't seen you about the war'?
Thought perhaps you was at the rear
Guarding the waggons." "What, us? No fear!
Where have we been? Why, bless my heart,
Where have we been since the bloomin' start?
Right in the front of the army,
Battling day and night!
Right in the front of the army
Teaching 'em how to fight!"
Every separate man you see,
Sapper, gunner, and C.I.V.,
Every one of 'em seems to be
Right in front of the army!
Most of the troops to the camp had gone,
When we met with a cow-gun toiling on;
And we said to the boys, as they walked her past,
"Well, thank goodness, you're here at last!"
"Here at last! Why, what d'yer mean?
Ain't we just where we've always been?
Right in the front of the army,
Battling day and night!
Right in the front of the army,
Teaching'em bow to fight!"
Correspondents and Vets in force,
Mounted foot and dismounted horse,
All of them were, as a matter of course,
Right in the front of the army.

Old Lord Roberts will have to mind
If ever the enemy get behind;
For they'll smash him up with a rear attack,
Because his army has got no back!
Think of the horrors that might befall
An army without any rear at all!
Right in the front of the army,
Battling day and night!
Right in the front of the army,
Teaching 'em how to fight!
Swede attaches and German counts,
Yeomen (known as De Wet's Remounts),
All of them were, by their own accounts,
Right in the front of the army!

A Faux

In front of your eyes,
In front of your lips,
In front of the wilderness!
But roasted in the fire with the flavour of your love;
And what i know about you is what i write about.

Meticulously,
Perpetuity,
Foresightedly,
And like diligent taxpayers! !
But a faux-revolutionary political machine is what you have;
And many have gone hungry in the name of war.

Growing Up

No-one told me growing up would be this hard baby
No-one told me growing up would be this hard
I can see , I see you sitting down
Why can't you be moving to the front
I can see , I see you sitting down
Why can't you be moving to the front
You told me there's a tomorrow
I don't believe you
You told me that there's time borrow
You never told me enough
Chorus
I can see see I see you sitting down
Why can't you be moving to the front
I can see see I see you sitting down
Why can't you be moving to the front
I am the voice of tomorrow
I make it to the future
So you tell me that I'm supposed to follow
You never told me enough
Chorus
You see the pain I feel
Is this all you've got to say to me
Please don't preach to me
You taught me all you can
But you've got no brain-scan
Your advise is no use to me
Chorus

to you I wanted to propose

All I Want For Christmas (Is My Two Front Teeth)

(Donald Yetter Gardner)
All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth
My two front teeth, My two front teeth
Gee, if I could only have my two front teeth
Then I could wish you, "Merry Christmas"
It seems so long since I could say
"Sister, Susie sitting on a thistle!"
Gosh, oh gee, how happy Id be, if I could only whistle
All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth
My two front teeth, My two front teeth
Gee, if I could only have my two front teeth
Then I could wish you, "Merry Christmas"
All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth
My two front teeth, My two front teeth
Gee, if I could only have my two front teeth
Then I could wish you, "Merry Christmas"
It seems so long since I could say
"Sister, Susie sitting on a thistle!"
Gosh, oh gee, how happy Id be, if I could only whistle
(All I want for Christmas is my two front teeth)
(Two front teeth), (two front teeth)
Gee, if I could only have my two front teeth
Then I could wish you, "Merry Christmas"
--- Instrumental ---
It seems so long since I could say
"Sister, Susie sitting on a thistle!"
Gosh, oh gee, how happy Id be, if I could only whistle

Waitin’ In Line

Have you ever had that feeling,
that you are wasting your time,
whenever you are waitin’ in line?
You see someone at the front,
always seem to get the best.
You seem to be last in line,
and only get what’s left.
Sometimes my friend,
the last in line do get the best.
The ones in front,
tries the goods and discard them easily.
While the one at the back keeps
hold of everything, they get.
While the one at the front,
so quickly forgets.

Up Front (feat. Debra Bird)

By Barry Manilow and Bruce Sussman
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Things were very quiet, back there
You really oughtta try it, back there
But when you think youve had enough
Its come the time to pack your stuff and go
I know
I know Im goin upfront, out in front
Leavin everyone behind, got to see what I can find
Upfront
Upfront, out in front, I was always meant to be
There for all the world to see
Upfront
Nothin but beginners, back there
They never heard of winners, back there
They laughed at all my crazy schemes
They told me to forget my dreams and stay
No way
The way to go is upfront, out in front
Leavin everyone behind, got to see what I can find
Upfront
Upfront, out in front, I was always meant to be
There for all the world to see
Where the livin is high
And the lovin is free and easy
Every star in the sky is shinin for me, for me
Upfront, out in front,
Leavin everyone behind, got to see what I can find upfront
Upfront, out in front, I was always meant to be
There for all the world to see

An Ode to Halloween

I am new to writing poems and I hope I can learn from all of you.
By the way, I learned how to write this kind of poem because of
An Ode to Christmas. Thank you very much!
An Ode to Halloween
When you see a child
In a costume scary and wild
You know it is Halloween.

When kids go trick-or-treats
And get lots and lots of sweets
You know it is Halloween.

When the trees give up their yellow leaves
And the dead give back their R.I.P.s
You know it is Halloween.

An Ode to scrumptious snacks
An Ode to skeletons that clack

An Ode to Dracula
An Ode to tarantulas
An Ode to Halloween

An Ode to the year’s best time
An Ode to clocks that chime
An Ode to Halloween

In the steps of Rumi 86: The Mirror

This mirror.
She has stood in front of it for many minutes;
this; that;
finally asked the mirror silently
its opinion.
The mirror agreed with the perfection
that she saw in herself now, in front of it..

Now she leaves the room.
The mirror has nothing to reflect.
While it’s reflecting nothing,
steal up to it from the side,
admire it. Maybe praise it
by polishing it. Wonder, how it is
that it has an in front of it,
yet no behind it.

Wonder how it is
that it never lies,
always tells the truth,
yet agrees with all we see in it..

Wonder too, how it brings
all who stand in front of it, to silence..
bestows this rare blessing upon all,
which is beyond the ability of men,
of books..

Somewhere where ideas emerge
from nowhere into somewhere,
then roam anywhere and everywhere,
mind and mirror were given a secret which they share.

My Love In A Mirror

She stood there
looking at herself...
at the beauty God bestowed on her
in front of this mirror

I stood behind her, wrapping my soul around her
my dark brown arms against her pale skin,
covering her nakedness
in front of this mirror

Our bodies stirred, feeling the fire
remembering our lovemaking earlier,
and previous times we have stood here
in front of this mirror

Like this very moment, her eyes
arresting me, her soul possessing me,
the warmth of my body against hers
in front of this mirror

A Rent Free Home To Live In

once you were offered
a rent free home to live in
for you and your family

a full time job
for both your wife
and yourself

a much higher salary
than you were making
a salary for your wife

house was warm freshly painted
beautify prepared for your family
not taken was this opportunity

a school was next street behind
but a short walk for your children
your salary was fully guaranteed

house waited empty a full year for thee
opportunity open dawn bright for thee
salary guaranteed in perpetuity for thee

you chose instead nuts and bolts living
you choose instead continued paying renting
time passes now your bills I am not paying
