If we were living in ancient Rome or Greece, I would be considered sickly and unattractive. The times dictate that thin is better for some strange reason, which I think is foolish.

Strange Times
Long time ago, back in the mist of time
Back when the crystal waters flowed
There was a world
So strange and so beautiful
All life would flourish and would grow
Years went by, time just fell away
Love was worshiped like the sun
But as we arrive at the house of the water sign
Were living in strange times
Strange times
Strange times
What do we need
What do we hunger for
Who holds the secrets, who will know
Temples of greed
In ruins on the river bed
Wastelands that lived before the snow
Time stands still
As we race through the universe
On our way to the sun
And as we arrive at the house of the water sign
Were living in strange times
Strange times,
Strange times
Its you and I forever
We wont be afraid
Even if the stars are falling down, down, down, down, down
Falling down
Time stands still as we race through the universe
On our way to the sun
And as we arrive at the house of the water sign
Were living in strange times
Strange times,
Strange times

We Know What We Do Sometimes Seems Foolish
We have assignments,
Some with reason and rhyme...
But,
Like none other...
Ours at times are undercover.
We have a purpose to fulfill all our needs.
With a wish to please...
But that's hard to say to people.
We know what we do sometimes seems foolish.
And we know...
Most times we may comprehend.
We know what we do sometimes seems foolish.
And we know...
Starting over from an end,
Can not always begin again.
We have assignments,
Some with reason and rhyme...
But,
Like none other...
Ours at times are undercover.
And...
We know what we do sometimes seems foolish.
And...
We know starting over can't begin from an end.
And...
What we do may look so easy.
But...
We do what we must,
To put others at ease.
And...
We know what we do sometimes seems foolish.
And...
We know starting over can't begin from an end.
And...
What we do may look so easy.
But...
We do what we must,
To put others at ease.

A stray Parrot recites the Greek Alphabet
'Alpha, Beta...........&..................sigma...! '
Early in the morning I heard these strange words.
And I saw a Parrot rests on my next door neighbor's olive tree.
'Kali Mera Mastura! , Sorry that means good morning.' Parrot whispered.
'Where are you coming from? ' I asked.
Straight away flew from Greece the country introduced Civilization first.'
I said; 'I like Greece and Nikos.Kazantsakis and his book Zorba the Greek.'
'Oh! Master if you know Nikos.Kazantsakis then you know all about Greece.'
The Parrot imitates the Zorba's dance and I lived in Greece for a while.

Living On A Thin Line
All the stories have been told
Of kings and days of old,
But theres no england now.
All the wars that were won and lost
Somehow dont seem to matter very much anymore.
All the lies we were told,
All the lies of the people running round,
Theyre castles have burned.
Now I see change,
But inside were the same as we ever were.
Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
Living on a thin line,
Living this way, each day is a dream.
What am i, what are we supposed to do?
Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
Now another century nearly gone,
What are we gonna leave for the young?
What we couldnt do, what we wouldnt do,
Its a crime, but does it matter?
Does it matter much, does it matter much to you?
Does it ever really matter?
Yes, it really, really matters.
Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
Now another leader says
Break their hearts and break some heads.
Is there nothing we can say or do?
Blame the future on the past,
Always lost in blood and guts.
And when theyre gone, its me and you.
Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
Living on a thin line,
Tell me now, what are we supposed to do?
Living on a thin line.

But, ancient Greece and ancient Rome - people did not happen to believe that creativity came from human beings back then, OK? People believed that creativity was this divine attendant spirit that came to human beings from some distant and unknowable source, for distant and unknowable reasons.

The Foolish Thing To Do
I was thinking just the other day
How it started in such a strange way
It ended in a strange way too
And this is why I am singing this song for you
Its a foolish thing to do
Such a foolish thing to do
Give your heart to someone new
Its a foolish thing to do
(yeah)
Weve all made the same mistakes
One foolish glance one smile we made
A hundred thousand feel this way
While other people are just waiting for the day
Its a foolish thing to do
Such a foolish foolish thing to do
Go when you want it
When you need it
Dont just believe it
For the first an last time
Stop !
Youd better look around
One day youll walk into the room
Your eyes will meet
Youll fall in love too soon
The next time you might hesitate
The chance is all those rooms have eyes
So dont forget
Its a foolish thing to do
Such a such a foolish thing to do
To go and give your heart and soul to someone new
Its a foolish foolish thing to do
So when you feel it
When you can touch it
And you believe it
For the first an last time
Stop !
Youd better look around
Its a foolish thing to do
Such a foolish thing to do

The great creators—the thinkers, the artists, the scientists, the inventors—stood alone against the men of their time. Every great new thought was opposed. Every great new invention was denounced. The first motor was considered foolish. The airplane was considered impossible. The power loom was considered vicious. Anesthesia was considered sinful. But the men of unborrowed vision went ahead. They fought, they suffered and they paid. But they won.

history ***** SPARTANS
At your times
you were honored
among your gods
as greatest warriors
at all ancient centuries
you swept as sparrow winds
and ferocious as the holocaust fire
against the multitude
heartless foes
Bringing always the banner of glory
and that was all for the GREECE
Death were invisible
by yours
Now, you are numbered
among the legendary dusts
the makers of history
The book never miss you all
You are still the living warriors
fading away

Rachel III
Sprung from the blood of Israel's scatter'd race,
At a mean inn in German Aarau born,
To forms from antique Greece and Rome uptorn,
Trick'd out with a Parisian speech and face,
Imparting life renew'd, old classic grace;
Then, soothing with thy Christian strain forlorn,
A-Kempis! her departing soul outworn,
While by her bedside Hebrew rites have place--
Ah, not the radiant spirit of Greece alone
She had--one power, which made her breast its home!
In her, like us, there clash'd, contending powers,
Germany, France, Christ, Moses, Athens, Rome.
The strife, the mixture in her soul, are ours;
Her genius and her glory are her own.

From Greece To Rome (Conclusion)
the majority, the 99%,
now owned by the elite!
a new tidal wave of slavery,
that feeds the wealthy,
and starves the poor!
robbed of human rights and dignity,
faceless numbers in a line.
jobless, homeless, hungry, and angry....
again, bodies on the block!
now more like Rome than Greece,
we implode on ourselves!
fires burning, storms raging,
the howl of humanity's voice...
the bloodied shores weep and tremble!
one people, many colors, battling for freedom,
we're all immigrants here!
forced to lay it all on the line,
backs against the wall,
with nothing left to lose!
from Greece to Rome,
democracy to plutocracy,
the eagle falls from
smoke filled skies!

Beyond My Fatal Shore
I walked the last and hardest mile
full me of good intent
my mind was full of great ideas
and of glorious times spent.
I'd travelled that broad swathe of land
that the ottomans called home
and i never ever turned my eyes
to the glory that was rome.
i'd spent some time in ephesus
before i made my way
towards the delphic oracle
and the words that she would say
she cursed the earth she stood upon
and with hands her hair did tear
she looked at me all strangely
as if i wasn't there
for greece and rome were built upon
a fantasy complete
and as ever shall i wander
her words - like death's own sheet
are wound and tightened round my soul.
i hear her words i've heard them loud
a thousand times or more
each time i take that fateful step
beyond that fatal shore.

A Journey Taken God Wants Us to Condone
There is 'something' felt in the air.
Something that says the times ahead,
Will be okay.
With whispers calling for a patience.
Even though clouds of despair seem to be,
Everywhere,
There are those without hesitation...
Showing reasons to express they care.
These times we all are living,
Come to give us reasons to condone.
These times we are living,
Are no longer the times to decide to leave alone.
These times we all are living,
Come to give us reason...
To live and condone,
A journey taken God wants us on.
A journey taken God wants us to condone.
Claiming it as a direction we own.

Marcus Varro
Marcus Varro went up and down
The places where old books were sold;
He ransacked all the shops in town
For pictures new and pictures old.
He gave the folk of earth no peace;
Snooping around by day and night,
He plied the trade in Rome and Greece
Of an insatiate Grangerite.
'Pictures!' was evermore his cry --
'Pictures of old or recent date,'
And pictures only would he buy
Wherewith to 'extra-illustrate.'
Full many a tome of ancient type
And many a manuscript he took,
For nary purpose but to swipe
Their pictures for some other book.
While Marcus Varro plied his fad
There was not in the shops of Greece
A book or pamphlet to be had
That was not minus frontispiece.
Nor did he hesitate to ply
His baleful practices at home;
It was not possible to buy
A perfect book in all of Rome!
What must the other folk have done --
Who, glancing o'er the books they bought,
Came soon and suddenly upon
The vandalism Varro wrought!
How must their cheeks have flamed with red --
How did their hearts with choler beat!
We can imagine what they said --
We can imagine, not repeat!
Where are the books that Varro made --
The pride of dilettante Rome --
With divers portraitures inlaid
Swiped from so many another tome?
The worms devoured them long ago --
O wretched worms! ye should have fed
Not on the books 'extended' so,
But on old Varro's flesh instead!
Alas, that Marcus Varro lives
And is a potent factor yet!
Alas, that still his practice gives
Good men occasion for regret!
To yonder bookstall, pri'thee, go,
And by the 'missing' prints and plates
And frontispieces you shall know
He lives, and 'extra-illustrates'!

Listen Mister
Written by: myles goodwyn
Listen mister I can not see
Any reason for lyin
I can see inside your head
To the back of your mind, yeah
Get it together
Get it together before you lose
Get it together
Get it together before you lose
Here I am on my knees
And not afraid of dieing
Suddenly it occurs to me
There was really no sense in trying
Yes I know it seems strange to you
But its our way of living
I cant see for the life of me
Why youre so afraid to reason
Listen mister I can not see
Any reason for lyin
Things just arent like they use to be
Nd theres no sense in tryin
Get it together
Get it together before you lose
Get it together
Get it together before you lose
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see
A good reason I cannot see

Strangers
Strangers are what we are
and strangers are what we will become
underneith a falling star
we wait for the reason of why everything happens?
Strangers. Its strange strange world
you listen to the shouting
yet the silence is never heard
and a single smile doesnt take one word.
Ones living in a strange strange world.
Ones only another stranger to another's hurt.

It Is a Luxury Sometimes
I can be foolish.
And can do foolish things
Knowing what I do is a bit foolish.
It is a luxury sometimes I use.
But there has been times,
My foolishness has been mistaken...
For stupidity and ignorance.
And my portrayal of foolishness,
When I decide it should end...
Becomes interpreted,
As someone who has lost much sense.
And I must admit,
At times when that occurs...
I'm not trying to find it either.
Or senselessly defend,
Whatever it is that offends...
That I may say and is heard.
That is why I don't encourage,
Being tested at my expense.

Once Given the Opportunity
Isn't it strange how time changes,
Events?
And participants!
Those who once were considered fools...
Look less foolish,
Than those who carry superior attitudes.
How stupid can intelligent beings be?
To not foresee their selfishness,
And hypocrisies bleed!
Isn't it strange how time changes,
Moments?
And the momentum of those decadent!
Available cash seem for them decreasing.
And a self worth of some,
Leave them crumbling and stunned!
Isn't it strange how time changes,
Respect?
Those once neglected,
Find they are no longer the only ones dejected!
There is a sense of an ending of nonsense!
But those who have been offended and victimized...
Aren't will to compensate their dignities,
To appear with those who have now been exposed...
To be low life with human qualities!
A heart that has been pure...
Has no empathy for those of conscious misdeeds!
Isn't it strange how time changes,
And rearranges...
Dangers.
And those we believed were just 'weakened' strangers!
'Treat others as you wish to have them treat you!
You never know which 'treats' they prefer to enjoy...
Once given the opportunity! '

North Atlantic Drift
Meanwhile Rome burns
Meanwhile Rome burns
Its a cultural shift its the North Atlantic Drift
Americana and a rule Britannia
And the moon yes we own that to
And where the Euphrates meets the other rivers
Is now the home of the devil and the liar
And the pyre we plan to make
Is just the drift leaving its wake, home
Meanwhile Rome burns
Meanwhile Rome burns
And the films you want to watch
And the films you want to make
And the kids like lost angels
Dressed in black sensations
And the shift won? shake
And the drift won? brake
With billions of Diamonds growing like olives
And the drift holds the coffers
Meanwhile Rome burns
Meanwhile Rome burns
Meanwhile Rome burns
Meanwhile Rome burns
Meanwhile Rome burns
Meanwhile Rome burns
Meanwhile Rome burns
Meanwhile Rome burns
