The Blood Red Rose

A solitary rose,
it could not understand
why it was deprived of life
by the cultivator's hand.

A solitary rose,
clutched in a mourner's fingers
waits the presenting of the flag
as the last note of "Taps" still lingers

A solitary Rose,
it could not understand
why its life was at the mercy
of the passing of this man.

A solitary Rose
wise beyond its time
is accepting of its fate
as the mourners stand in line

A solitary rose
flung upon a box of wood.
feels the sun a final time
as it is covered up for good.

Our ancestors made sacrifice
to expiate their sin.

The Solitary Heart

The solitary heart knows to many secrets
Too many tales have passed by unheard
The wistful dream often forgot
Is remembered with a solemn relocation
The loneliness seems unforgiving
And offers no respite to the heart
Alone in all its sweet devotion
Wishing it could be found someday
That love would mean more than a word
The anger, such anger felt at a world
Which seems to offer no friendship
No words that speak to care
The solitary heart weeps and pleads
To be free of love or bound to it
No longer alone watching on

The Gift Of Friendship

It's hard to find a friendship that is truly real
Sometimes it's hard to trust
Never give up on making new friends
Friends are like family, and family is a must.

A family is very personal
and to me friendship is too
So I take it slow when meeting new people
I have to feel that their friendship is true.

But if I am convinced they want nothing but friendship
I will except them into my heart
For in my heart they are truly safe
And nothing will break that friendship apart.

Keeping email alive in touch

A day gone by without your mail
I seem to be a year for me
Today I read your mail
Is full with gladness and happiness
Family and friends
Getting in touch
From around the world
I dream of the day, when we meet
Or again
In real from around the world
I will tell you, how much I love you
My family and your Friendship
When we do we spend all day long
Talking of this
Miracle email alive
Only we can make this happen
Because we been waiting for this moment
For a long time

Empty Soul

The solitary figure that walks along the beach
at the waters edge with aspiration
floating around their head,
but take a look again
and tell us what you see
within the drooped shoulders.

That seem to hold the burdens of the world,
and the eyes that seem forever
always gazed towards the ground.
The face that never smiles when jokes are abound.
You say you see a solitary figure
a life with nothing, but just an empty soul.

You say that figure remains you of someone
whose name is on the tip of your tongue.
Look again friend deeply this time
for that solitary figure
who holds within an empty soul
is just a reflection of me.

You know it gets too much and sometimes she cries like a baby
But shes almost certain itll pass when she becomes a lady
But while shes still a young girl love is avoiding her
And thank God for the radio and the color tv, oh, oh, oh, oh
Heroes are hard to find in the cold world but not in her mind
And shes talking to jesus during the radio station breaks
And shes on her knees, pourin on her knees
Asking how the world can be so cold to her
And she listens to the records, playing on the radio
And shes falling in love with a singer
Now shes feelin better and shes feelin good
But shes coming down by the time the song is over

Solitary Man

Sometimes I feel like a solitary man.
Under the night sky writing what I can.
No one else is moving or driving cars.
The world belongs to me under the stars.

While pondering in my solitude
Without a thought or plan,
Thoughts jump into the mind
Of this solitary man.

I don't know where they come from.
They are just my own surprise.
Sometimes I'd swear that they have come
Through a different set of eyes.

In prison I know that solitary
Can drive a person mad.
But in those I once sent there,
For the solitude they seem glad.

The Lord needed His solitude
For at one time forty days.
And again when in the garden,
Where for the souls of men He prayed.

So in my time of solitude
I also have time to pray.
It's when I feel the closest,
To Him in my night each day!
