If you can keep playing tennis when somebody is shooting a gun down the street, that's concentration.

Shooting clay targets is a very cleansing experience. It's very relaxing. It takes a lot of concentration. It's also very social, since you're usually shooting with friends. You can talk and forget about almost anything else that's on your mind.

Acting with Denzel is like playing tennis with someone that's better than you. You either play better tennis or get blown off the court.
Tennis
Some people say:
if you have strength
you don’t need brain,
but I would like to say:
it doesn’t come with tennis.
If you take a racket and go to a court,
my Lord!
You better use your brain
but not the mass
which is called ass.
I would like to confess:
playing tennis is like playing chess,
you certainly need strength
but using your smartness
you’ll go to the length,
you’ll get your revenge
and it won’t be strange.

Top Man
This is a public warning
Be careful when you're out
We are having freaky weather
There's a lot of it about
On the terraces is it swinging
He's a monkey on the roof
You've seen him on the telly
So let me introduce you're host tonight
T.o.p.m.a.n. he's naughty by nature
T.o.p.m.a.n. on doubles and chasers
T.o.p.m.a.n. guilette or a razor
T.o.p.m.a.n. shooting guns on the high street of love
In a crowd it's hard to spot him
But anonymity can cost
He's never cheap or cheerful
He's hugo and he's boss
He's riding through the desert on a camel light
And on a magic carpet he'll fly away tonight
Open sesame
T.o.p.m.a.n. he's naughty by nature
T.o.p.m.a.n. on doubles and chasers
T.o.p.m.a.n. guilette or a razor
T.o.p.m.a.n. shooting guns on the high street of love
T.o.p.m.a.n. sees her in double
T.o.p.m.a.n. then pukes on the pavement
T.o.p.m.a.n. likes her all clean and shaven
T.o.p.m.a.n. shooting guns on the high street of love
T.o.p.m.a.n. he's naughty by nature
T.o.p.m.a.n. on doubles and chasers
T.o.p.m.a.n. guilette or a razor
T.o.p.m.a.n. shooting guns on the high street of love
T.o.p.m.a.n. shooting guns on the high street of love

I'd like to think I could have and should have won more, but that's not the point. And I was at the point where I was playing great tennis in the mid 80s - the type of tennis people hadn't seen before - and I was very proud of that.

The danger in media concentration comes not from the concentration, but instead from the feudalism that this concentration, tied to the change in copyright, produces.

Tennis
In the morning madness and the stabbing light
She pours the coffee and she says
What was wrong with you last night?
Dreams, just dreams my love, were half asleep
But the headlines on tennis
So it seems, everythings all right
Theres a girl from the midwest, with a pretty face
Scratched where it itched, they said it was a disgrace
I dont wanna go to work today
Wanna stay at home and watch that girl play
Do you like tennis?
Yes I do
There are people in boats in the middle of the sea
Crying and dying like jews
Do you like tennis?
Freedom is the man with the red grenade
She ran out of gas, got beat and raped
Do you like tennis?
Well do you like tennis?
Yes I do

Shooting Hoops
When the school lets out and the shifts are done
Get the boys together get a ball get a run
Lace up the sneaks kick off them shoes
Ill admit I play to win yo cause I dont like to lose
At seger park theyve got the best competition
Good moves baby - Im the definition
They shooting hoops
Yeah yeah yeah
They playing basketball
I learned at old pine, see Im the school yard hustler
I had my hardknocks now Im an off the backboard buster
I could fake to the left penetrate like mike
Or 360 in the air as dominique might
I could pass like magic
I could shoot like the bird, after a doctor j dunk
The courtside drunk said good lord
They shooting hoops
Yeah yeah yeah
They playing basketball
Lunch from a hot dog stand a pretzel and a pop
Weve been playing all day cause weve had this court non stop
The city sun is hot - all the courts they steaming
Bright eyed yong ball handlers are believing and dreaming
Hoping some day all this playing will be paying
Thats what all the sideline junkies smoking reefer keep saying
They shooting hoops
Yeah yeah yeah
They playing basketball

Shooting Star
Seen a shooting star tonight and I thought of you
Youre trying to break into another world
A world I never knew
I always kinda wondered if you ever made it through
Seen a shooting star tonight and I thought of you
Seen a shooting star tonight and I thought of me
If I was still the same, if I ever became what you wanted me to be
Did I miss the mark, overstep the line that only you could see
Seen a shooting star tonight and I thought of me
Listen to the engine, listen to the bell
As the last firetruck from hell goes rollin by
All good people are praying
Its the last temptation, the last account
The last time you might hear the sermon on the mount
Last radios playing
Seen a shooting star tonight slip away
Tomorrow will be another day
Guess its too late to say the things to you that you needed to hear me say
Seen a shooting star tonight slip away

Wishing on a shooting star
I wished upon a shooting star
As it went through the sky,
I wished upon a shooting star
As it shot right by.
I wished upon a shooting star
That my prayers would all come true,
I wished upon a shooting star
And then I thought of you.
I wished upon a shooting star
And noticed I was crying,
I wished upon a shooting star
And realized I was dying.
I wished upon a shooting star
But my wish never came true,
I wished upon a shooting star
And hoped it would get me through.
I wished upon a shooting star
That the she would still be there,
I wished upon a shooting star
That she would always care.
I wished upon a shooting star
Here in this night sky,
I wished upon a shooting star
That our love will never die.

Kid to Soldier
Little Boy, young man
playing guns, shooting guns
having fun, learning runs
little scout, recon scout
playing war, living war
making sounds, shooting rounds
finding friends, finding rebels
running thru sprinklers, running thru gun fire
screaming fun, Screaming pain
living life, surviving life
we are one, one and all
from boy to man
from playing soldier to fighting soldier
home to Mom, home to love
we welcome you home our little man

If We Try
When I see you on the street, I lose my concentration.
Just the thought that we might meet, creates anticipation.
Won't you look my way, one before you go,
and my eyes will say, what you ought to know.
Well, I've been thinkin' about you day and night
an' I don't know if it'll work out right.
But somehow I think that it just might, if we try.
Faces come and faces go, in circular rotation.
But something yearns within to grow beyond infatuation.
Won't you look my way, one before you go,
and my eyes will say, what you ought to know.
Well, you got me standin' deaf and blind.
'Cause I see love as just a state of mind.
And who knows what it is that we might find, if we try.
You're walkin' a different direction from most people I've met.
You're givin' me signs of affection I don't usually get.
I don't want you to pledge your future, the future's not yours to give.
Just stand there a little longer and let me watch while you live.
'Cause when I see you on the street, I lose my concentration.
Just the thought that we might meet, creates anticipation.
Won't you look my way, one before you go,
and my eyes will say, what you ought to know.
Well, I've been thinkin' about you day and night
an' I don't know if it'll work out right.
But somehow I think that it just might, if we try.
Somehow I think that it just might, if we try.
Yes, somehow I think that it just might, if we try.
