One very important aspect of motivation is the willingness to stop and to look at things that no one else has bothered to look at. This simple process of focusing on things that are normally taken for granted is a powerful source of creativity.

He's Bothered Again!
Where are they?
Do they have him?
Will they know?
And troubled is he
Disturbed is he
Am I troubled?
How much bothered can his soul get?
Bothered about his own life
Bothered about bothering about his life
Bothered about wealth
Bothered about bothering about wealth
And weaker and weaker he is as the day go by
And worse still shall be his story
Because he is bothered about nature
And things in it
But he is never bothered about aiding nature
Or the things in it
Such person,
I am bothered about
Because he bothers to effect no change
And bothers that he hasn't effected a change
And why he did not effect any change
But not how he could effect such change
He also bothers about those who aren't bothered
He bothers for them
His stupidity is the source of their livelihood
He bothers why they do not bother
He bothers about those who effect changes
He bothers how long it took for such change
He bothers the risk taken
He never bothers how they do it
But he bothers if they were a bandit
And everyday, he keeps bothering
And knows not that he bothers his life
And his health
And his sanity
But those who bother aren't stupid
Except if they bother like he does

A Simple Thing
Sometimes it’s a simple things
that brings the most pleasure there.
A little, treat for someone
of whom you really care.
A smile to a stranger
you may meet on your way.
That smile might
just make their day.
It’s the simple things
we take for granted
that bring the biggest joy.
The simple things
that lights up a face
that sorrow has stained.
So remember
a simple thing like a smile
can turn a frown upside down.

You Could And You Should
Stop the complications of,
Your perceptions of...
A simple basicness,
You...
Choose to make more serious.
You could and you should.
Stop the complications of,
Your perceptions of...
A simple basicness,
You.
Choose to make more serious.
To tighten up some nuts,
To hold them to keep bolted...
Is simple.
Quite simple.
With a twist from left to right,
Is simple.
Quite simple.
Something will be tightened...
And it's simple.
Quite simple.
You could.
And you should,
Keep it simple without wrinkles.
You could.
And you should,
Make less noise...
Without a racket.
You could.
And you should,
Use a wrench and not an ax.
You could.
And you should.
You should,
And you could...
Stop the complications of,
Your perceptions of...
A simple basicness,
You...
Choose to make more serious.
You could and you should.
It's best to keep things simple, stupid!
You could.
And you should.
It's best to keep things simple, stupid!
You could.
And you should.
It's best to keep things simple, stupid!
You could.
And you should.
You could.
And you should.

People Like Us
Life is given as a gift
So it should be taken as one
We should wake up thankful that the day came
When you feel like you have it worst
You can always look at the people who have nothing
Then you would realize that you have everything
The people who have nothing
Don’t take life for granted
They are very grateful for everyday that comes
But people like us who have lots
Take life for granted
We don’t stop to realize what we’ve got
Then before we know it, it’s gone.
Its people like us
Who lead the troops to war.
And kill thousands, all over land.
Frankly I don’t understand why we
All can’t just get over it and increase the love
We all have to have material things such as cell phones
Most of us couldn't even go a day with out them.
Most of them have never even seen a cell phone
Yet, we still take things for granted
Everyday you should think about those
People when your getting mad because you
Can’t get your way
And maybe then one day
People will stop taking things for granted
Especially life
And live every day as if it were their last.
People like us need
To be like people like them

While there have been terrific advances in the state of technology around heuristics, behavior blocking, and things like that, technology is only a part of the approach to solving the problem with the more important aspect involving putting the right process in place.

Putting a stamp on things just helps you say, 'Hey, yesterday I was there, and today I'm here.' It's another step forward, and it feels like another turning point and an unleashing of creativity, and now I'm going to start focusing on the show and the production, the fun stuff that comes with it.

Special
I been trying for so long
To get you where I stand
Feel like I been climbing all my life
Everybody told me
I'd never ever get this far
I know I can make it if I try
There's the special things that come your way
?I'll be praying? no matter what they say
Special things that somehow come to you
(come to you, you too, to you, do to, be do, you)
Special things come to you
There's no sense in trying to fight it
When I want something so bad
No, it's not as easy as it seems
Simple things are the hardest
Of the things we do for love
And I won't give up cause I'm not just what it means
The special things you dream about
And the special things you're all about
Special things that somehow come to you
And it's the simple things to just believe
And the special things that you want to see
Special things somehow come to you
(come to you, doo doo doo, to you, doo doo doo)
Special things (doo, doo ahh, you doo)
Do do doo, on you, do do doo, to you
Do doo, ahh, do do doo, too
There's the special things that come your way
?I'll be praying? no matter what they say
Special things that somehow come to you
The special things you dream about
And the special things you're all about
Special things that somehow come to you
There's the special things that come your way
?I'll be praying? no matter what they say
Special things that somehow come to you
And it's the simple things to just believe
And the special things that you want to see
Special things somehow come to you

Do not let yourself be bothered by the inconsequential. One has only so much time in this world, so devote it to the work and the people most important to you, to those you love and things that matter. One can waste half a lifetime with people one doesn't really like, or doing things when one would be better off somewhere else.

One of the things I have tried to do with this book and with all of them really is avoid that simple, easy, reductionist view of motivation and to show we do things for a complex net of reasons, a real braid of reasons.

Experiment of God's Wish
That we live encouraged,
To acknowledge and grow...
Is important.
That we share what is learned...
And upon others bestow,
What it is we know...
Is important.
That the slate is wiped cleaned,
From that which is demeaning.
And we strive to occupy our minds,
With meaning and beneficial things.
And this to others we present and bring...
Is important while we still exist.
To discover that which affords us all happiness,
Is important.
Since this is why we have been blessed to be here!
And this is the 'experiment' of God's wish!
For you,
And me.
On this planet we have come to call Earth.
This has been important,
From the time we experienced,
That process of birth.

Acceptance Heals
Acceptance heals!
A willingness to just let go...
To be a part of a natural process,
Reveals an ability to face the truth...
For what it is and means.
Without the need,
Of foolish protective measures.
Some wish to stop to grow.
To direct with a decision...
To have things go their way.
Blocking the experience of a natural adventure.
As if the ticking of a clock,
Depends on a decision made.
Since time itself...
Is a creation of man.
And where man stands...
Has nothing to do,
With the evolution of nature.
And nature awaits...
Such dictates!
Acceptance heals!
A willingness to just let go...
To be a part of a natural process,
Reveals an ability to face the truth...
For what it is and means.
Without the need,
Of foolish protective measures.
And those foolish protective measures,
Keeps a wounded mind...
With no peace to find.
Acceptance heals.
Like one's faith,
Eliminates...
A stunted life that wastes away,
In anticipation to have a stubbornness validated.

Souvenir
I found a souvenir
In things I collected
The effect it had on me
Turned out distressing.
Instead of focusing on my past rejoicing
It just reminded me of awkward emotions.
Thought of my innocence
Thought of alienation
No self identity and massive confusion.
I wanted desperatley to think of the good time
Guess I remember too much.
Guess I would rather look at
The path in front of me that's holding something new.
Does it really do the trick when you're reunited
Does it make you stop and think
Things weren't meant to click.
Does it really do the trick to be taken back
Does it make you stop and think
Of all the things you lacked.
Time can give and take away at will
Don't look back

Fill Me Up
I just had to let you know
'Cause I don't always let it show
You give me needed room to grow
And I just had to tell you so
You fill me up, you're in my veins
A look could take my breath away
And all these things, you give away
Sometimes I take for granted
It's just like poetry inside
To hear you breathing by my side
Like I'm in heaven and I've died
So glad you're with me for this ride
You fill me up, you're in my veins
A look could take my breath away
And all these things, you give away
Sometimes I take for granted
I see your face to start my day
Makes all my bad dreams go away
And all the stupid games we play
Wouldn't have it any other way
You fill me up, you're in my veins
A look could take my breath away
And all these things, you give away
Sometimes I take for granted
You fill me up, you're in my veins
A look could take my breath away
And all these things, you give away
Sometimes I take for granted

The Process Isn't As Simple
I find it pointless,
To discuss how a process is done...
And takes place,
To anyone who has not expressed...
Just more of an interest.
If anyone has never been on stage to act.
Or has picked up a pen or a pencil,
To write...
Generating that kind of motivation in one's head...
Is to me like asking,
What does it take to lay an egg?
There is 'nothing' here to work with.
Neither is the person asking this queston a hen...
WITH a pencil OR a pen.
Nor has any attempts been made...
To lay that egg!
I am one of those people,
Who has to see some effort being achieved!
Especially if my assistance is requested.
The process isn't as simple,
As that hen may make it look!
'How is the rooster involved in all of this? '
Trust me.
Once you 'really' get a bonafide interest...?
You will begin the process of research,
On your own.
That 'desire' will be there.

Simple Things
simple things are the simple thoughts to a
simple man
like me
simple things like a coin where there is no face of me
or you
but it can buy me something to shame me of my
poverty and helplessness
a simple yawn
i haven't really slept
to the minimum that my eyes need
and look at these eyes
they are sinking to my sockets
a simple
word is all i need and i will always repeat it
'love'
'me'
this is the simple man, let there be no complications
about
spelling
or ethics
i am a simple man and morality is too hard for me to understand
all i ask is that you must
love me.

The most important things are the hardest things to say. They are the things you get ashamed of, because words diminish them — words shrink things that seemed limitless when they were in your head to no more than living size when they're brought out. But it's more than that, isn't it? The most important things lie too close to wherever your secret heart is buried, like landmarks to a treasure your enemies would love to steal away. And you may make revelations that cost you dearly only to have people look at you in a funny way, not understanding what you've said at all, or why you thought it was so important that you almost cried while you were saying it. That's the worst, I think. When the secret stays locked within not for want of a teller, but for want of an understanding ear.
