A certain number of Americans are already in Peking and most of us here feel that it would be very useful for the United States and especially for the Left-wing progressive movement in the United States if groups of students such as you mention could make a tour of China.

Native Americans are the original inhabitants of the land that now constitutes the United States. They have helped develop the fundamental principles of freedom of speech and separation of powers that form the foundation of the United States Government.
Dear United States of America, So you think we're fighting prejudice?
Dear United States of America,
So you think we're fighting prejudice?
I don't deny that we are trying,
but we are failing miserabley.
Why do we make a Women's day but not a Men's day?
Why do we have African-American Scholarships and Hispanic Scholarships, but not White Scholarships?
Why do we call ourselves 'Americans' instead of United
Statesians when people in Brazil have the same right to use that term
as we do?
Why do we still use slurs like 'retarded' even though we know that people don't choose to be held back or mentally disabled?
Why do we call people 'dorks' even though there are countless stories of 'dorks' who kill themselves because they just can't take it anymore?
Why do we seek to fight division with division?

American Bald Eagle
American bald eagle
The American eagle took to flight
Soared into the valley, with its wings of might.
An endangered species it became in 1973
To protect the heritage of you and me.
On our currency and in our hearts
Of the united states it has become a big part.
With a wing span of 79 to 90
And a body length of 35 to 37
And a neck and tail as white as snow
This is something that many don’t know.
The beauty of this bird so rare
Is something that we’re proud to share.
They have been here even before
The birth of the united states
And this is what makes them great
For they survived from the
Destruction of man
And taught us how to take a stand.
So to the American eagle we honor you
In everything that we say and do.
Keep us standing tall and proud
For throughout this world
You do get around.

As you begin your tour of the United States, you may as well know that one American national trait which irritates many Americans and must be convenient for our critics is that we relentlessly advertise our imperfections.

Pharmacy Fat Man
After my yearly physical
I stopped by the pharmacy
To buy some niacin pills
A fat man stood ahead of me
He easily weighed 400 pounds
I stood for what seemed like hours
Pharmacist was giving instructions
How many pills and do’s & don’ts
I mused, “Why so many drugs? ”
The answer was crystal clear
Severe obesity was the culprit
Did the fat man suffer from,
Hypertension, high cholesterol
Diabetes, enlarged heart, varicose veins
Acid reflux, hernia and lymph edema
All of these potentially fatal diseases
Because of poor food choices
And lack of exercise
His Doctor was treating symptoms
The fat man was ignoring the cause
Wanting only relief and a quick fix…

From Wikipedia;
“Obesity in the United States has been increasingly cited as a major health issue in recent decades. While many industrialized countries have experienced similar increases, obesity rates in the United States are among the highest in the world with as of 2007 74.1 % of adults being overweight or obese.[2]
Estimates of the number of obese American adults have been steadily expanding, from 19.4% in 1997,24.5% in 2004[3] to 26.6% in 2007.[4]
The direct medical cost of obesity and indirect economic loss to obesity has been estimated to be as high as $51.64 billion and $99.2 billion in 1995, respectively; [5] this rose to $61 billion and $117 billion in 2000.[6] Researchers for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and RTI International estimate that in 2003, obesity-attributable medical expenditures reached $75 billion.[7]”

The United Conference of Hemispheres
How about...
The United States?
'No.
That's what we're called now! '
Oh...
You're right.
I forgot.
Well..
How about,
The United Federation of Americas?
'Hmmm...
Now that does have a ring.
With Canada, Mexico...
And the current United States.
I like the sound of it! '
Or...
How about,
The United Western Hemisphere?
'YES!
That's brilliant.
We'll have a meeting this weekend,
To discuss it!
But we must go slowly with this.
The people are already going nuts over the economy!
But I do love this idea.
We'll have the United Northern Hemisphere.
The United Eastern Hemisphere.
And the United Southern Hemisphere.
Whenever we come to meet...
We'll call ourselves,
The United Conference of Hemispheres!
Pass that by President Obama.
See if he approves before the announcement is made!
We must consolidate all nations as soon as possible.'
