There have been times when I reread - or at least leafed through - something because I'd sent a copy to a friend, and what usually happened was that I noticed dozens and dozens of clumsy phrases I wished I could rewrite.

In all, dozens upon dozens of groups and organizations have prioritized stopping the killing in Darfur before there is no one left to be killed. It is high time that we, the U.S. Congress, join our name to that list.

Hoarder Or Collector (Fun Poem 101)
Some of us are hoarders
and we don’t know where to stop.
We say we are collectors,
of rubbish maybe.
For a long time I have loved books
and collected every waif and stray.
People gave them to me by the dozen
and I never turned them away.
My collecting went so mad
I have now ten thousand or more
within my library.
Enough is enough I would say,
but still more arrived.
Now I don’t live in a house anymore,
as it has become a library.
There are books in every room
and not just one or two,
but dozens and dozens of them.
Everywhere you go;
there are books here and there.
Now I must down size
and my problem is
which ones do I let go,
and then I think
I might want to read a couple of them.
I am confused at what to do.
I know if I don’t do it soon
we won’t be able to
even get into the loo!
19 April 2009
Author’s note:
Loo is a word we use instead of saying Toilet. And, yes, I have that many books and I do have to get rid of some.

This Whole Life
Inside my life thoughts are good,
Ogres sell their souls to the commonfolk.
Yesterday we saw a substance so special,
This was special for the dozens in slaughter.
Yes, our laws were acceptable and we frame a result
For the common good of people.
Let ages pass and more laws come,
Too excellent is the product of our lives.
Our children left us in concise heaps,
Spoonfuls were fed to us in the dozens.
Inside this whole life is a feeling of luck,
One person objects, but everybody loves.

The most powerful person
Wealth, power, respect,
…….He had everything.
Dozens of servants,
Working under him.
His each second,
Was worth a million.
He had the power,
Power to control people
And the power to command respect.
But this powerful person,
Who had dozens of servants
Was himself a servant! ! !
A servant to……
His addiction of tobacco!
Oh! what a pity,
A person so powerful
Was under the control,
Of something so petty!
Power lies……
Not in controlling others,
But in the control
Of Yourself and Your Will.

It Only Happens When I Dance With You
It only happens when I dance with you
That trip to heaven till the dance is through
With no one else do the heavens seem quite so near
Why does it happen, dear, only with you?
Two cheeks together can be so divine
But only when those cheeks are yours and mine
Ive danced with dozens of others the whole night through
But the thrill that comes with spring when anything can happen
That only happens with you
Two cheeks together can be so divine
But only when those cheeks are yours and mine
Ive danced with dozens of others the whole night through
But the thrill that comes with spring when anything can happen
That only happens with you

Mimicry Assignment
Many classrooms were my home
and dozens of teachers called my name
thousands of lessons taught and learned
after time its all the same
For I was an intelligent child
my knowledge knew no end
homework tests and lessons
it seemed book smarts were my best fried
Everyday I proved ready
to ace my work with ease
with hardly any effort or drive
my lessons were a breeze
For I was an intelligent child
my teachers and classmates knew it
the lessons were long and tedious
but i knew i had to do it
During all those monotonous years
I decided it wasnt for me
I hated math and things with rules
I desired creativity
Yes, many classrooms were my home
and dozens of teachers helped me see
while i excelled at math and science
creative writing was for me.
