Every artist wants his work to be permanent. But what is The Aswan Dam covered some of the greatest art in the world. Venice is sinking. Great books and pictures were lost in the Florence floods. In the meantime we still enjoy butterflies.

Butterflies For Breakfast? (Life Poem)
Butterflies before you sit the final exam,
Butterflies before you go for a job interview,
Butterflies before you ask her out on a date,
Butterflies before you kiss her for the first time,
Butterflies before you propose two will be one,
Butterflies before you meet her family,
Butterflies before you see her all in white,
Butterflies before you make that big speech,
Butterflies before you see that your baby is OK,
Butterflies before you get news from the doctor,
Butterflies before you lose your job again,
Butterflies before you face any little crisis,
But -
No butterflies for breakfast.

If it is the mark of the artist to love art before everything, to renounce everything for its sake, to think all the sweet human things of life well lost if only he may attain something, do some good, great work - then I was never an artist.

Unwritten Books
It always seems the same old story –
No matter what grand heights are won –
We die with out best work unwritten,
We die with out best work undone.
Unwritten books, unpainted pictures
In millions are, beneath the sun.
We die, with our great thoughts unpublished,
We die with our best work undone.

It is my greatest joy to live a really good part, even though it imposes great strain. An artist is tired but proud when he has created a great work of art. So it is with the actor who really lives a great role and is proud of the part he played.

Pictures Of You
Pictures of you
Its just pictures of you, through the bedroom door
With that sly little grin, says you want it some more
But theres people around, and they dont look so nice
Tell me why dont they move, this has happened before
This has happened before
Its just pictures of you
In darkness
Pictures of you
Id been sleeping for hours,
When you came to my house
Youd been lost in a crowd, said you had to get out
You were covered with tears and you said you were sad
So you wanted to play
Yes, you wanted to play
Well you touched me and smiled, as you let yourself go
Oh, but something was wrong, cause your touch was so cold
Like youd been in the ground and you asked if you could
Stay
And I said no!
Its just pictures of you
In darkness
(pictures of you)
In that lovely white dress, oh your skin was so white
With the moon in your eyes, on that cold winter night
When your lips were so soft, that I though they would
Melt,
And the sound of your breath and the way that you felt
And I said yes
And I said yes
Its just pictures of you with a knife in your hand
With a rose in your teeth lying nude in the sand
Its just pictures of you, standing high on a cliff
With the wind in your hair, and a smile on your lips
And your eyes were so wild, when you started to laugh
Blending in with the wind, sounded just like a scream
Why do pictures of you
Come to me when I dream
In darkness
Pictures of you
Pictures of you
Pictures of you

Artist Nancy Waller
I remember hearing a voice,
“go down this road”, was the first choice.
The road 42nd West, in south Minneapolis.
Great visual artist I would meet,
She drew endangered species detailed and neat.
Nancy Waller was her name,
She published booklets on endangered species
to help bring about awareness and change.
Melodie my doll, loved her most of all.
She went to her see her at the museum,
took photos with her that where very pleasing.
Melodie was happy for Nancy designed,
coloring books of Melodie just cute and fine.
Nancy got my books off to a great start,
she inspired me and has a pure heart.
Thank you Nancy for inspiration and passion too,
you’re a great artist, through and through.

I have come to believe that a great teacher is a great artist and that there are as few as there are any other great artists. Teaching might even be the greatest of the arts since the medium is the human mind and spirit.

Moving Pictures
Life is only a moving picture
Nothing in life is a permanent fixture
Oh no oh oh no
Black girls, white girls oh what a mixture
Looking as pretty as a picture
Oh no oh oh no
We live, we die no one knows why
We come, we go we see the show
And its always moving, always moving
Life is only a moving picture
Oh, life can sometimes not be very nice
But then you make your choice so you must pay the price
You take the good and bad cos lifes all work and play
And it soon fades away
Oh no oh oh no
Life is only what you make out
So make the verses rhyme and all the pieces fit
There isnt any time to make much sense of it
It soon fades away
Oh no oh oh no
Life is only a moving picture
Nothing in life is a permanent fixture
Oh no oh oh no
We live, we die no one knows why
We come, we go we see the show
And its always moving, always moving
Look at all those moving pictures
Nothing in life is a permanent fixture
Oh no oh oh no
Its only moving, only moving, only moving pictures

A Beauty of Love!
I enjoy beauty of star studded night sky;
I enjoy beauty of harmonious waves of sea;
I enjoy beauty of peaceful living of people;
I enjoy beauty of natural poems of poets!
Beauty of human life I enjoy in all forms;
Beauty of fun loving children I enjoy often;
Beauty of smiling flowers I enjoy in garden;
Beauty of art work I enjoy in all forms ever!
World is full of beauty Nature bestows to all;
World is paradise due to love and beauty ever;
World is the abode of man's cultural refinement;
World is the spring board to heaven at the end!
Beauty of love is eternal for all to enjoy in life
Evolving animal into man and man into divine!

Venice Drowning
Venice breathing, shiny shoe mirrors of sex and violence,
In the purple evening silence, venice dreaming of a partner.
Fill your arms with breasts of marble, from the cradle to the table
Coax this naked treasure, from your saviour.
Come swim into my love
Come swim into my life
Divine blasphemer tempting, holly beads of jism
With a scarlet catechism, her lips will answer
(ah, her lips will answer)
How to be, the perfect stranger, the perfect lover - wanting
And as youll discover - giving, and as youll discover - being.
Come swim into my love
Come swim into my life
Enter this sublime corrosion
Venice drowning in emotion
-
(the body stirs, and is reanimated, only briefly,
But then life is very brief)
(come swim into my life)
(come swim into my life)
(ah-ahh ah-ah ah-ah-whoo heyyey)
Venice drowning!
Venice drowning!
Venice drowning!
Venice drowning!
Venice drowning!
Venice drowning! (slowly disappearing..)
Venice drowning! (slowly disappearing..)
Venice drowning! (slowly disappearing..)
Venice drowning!.... (slowly disappearing..)

Between Africa and Europe I
Between Africa & Europe
We sat on the rocks of the islanded Nile
Somewhere below Aswan
The inkwell water smooth running between our toes
The silt of Africa behind Aswan's mighty hand
Why did we leave?
Why did we come home?
Between Africa & Europe my mind halts
In this poem of last returns.
There we are placed:
I swimming
You watching
The light of the Sahara still burnishing our skin
The cold dark depths of the river
Hiding our last desires
And they will never resurface beyond this picture
I treasure here
Only the Nile flows on

The greatest artist is he who is greatest in the highest reaches of his art, even although he may lack the qualities necessary for the adequate execution of some minor details. It is not by his faults, but by his excellences, that we measure a great man. The strength of a beam is measured by its weakest part, of a man by his strongest.

Magic
When I look in your eyes
I cant see why
Theres no reflection of me
When I look in your heart
Let it be the start
Work your magic on me
When I look in your eye
I cant see why
Its all a mystery to me
When I ask you to look inside and tell me why
Nothing can change what will be
Baby work your magic on me
Baby work your magic on me
Im in a state of permanent confusion
Without your love
Without your love
Baby work your magic on me
When I look in your mind
Is there a reason why
Its all an illusion to me
I was lost in the game
That only two can play
When you work your magic on me
Baby work your magic on me
Baby work your magic on me
Im in a state of permanent confusion
Without your love
Without your love
Baby work your magic on me
What kind of love is this youre talking about
Its got no reason got no easy way out
What kind of love as got a hold of me
What kind of love
What kind of love
What kind of love
Baby work your magic on me
When I look in your eye
I can see why
Theres no reflection of me
I should have known from the start
That you would steal my heart
If you work all your magic on me
Baby work your magic on me
Baby work your magic on me
Im in a state of permanent confusion
Without your love
Without your love
I know I want to be with you tonight
Baby work your magic on me

In The Meantime
In the meantime, what do you do when theres no one left but you and youre
Alone how do you feel when the one you love doesnt doesnt seem real do you
Run or do you try to heal all the hurt inside (oooooh,oh oh oh)
( but in the meantime)
I have found within myself everything I need to get by (everything, youre all
I need to get by ) cause I (cause i, cause i, cause I) know what to do in
The meantime continue to love you ( Im gon to continue to love love you)
Ther is no need for you to fear for I am here Ill be right here all of your
Life and iam willing and able to pull you through the storm that might you on
The outside and all of your fears and doubts will no longer exist because god
Is picking your greatest ways and he has done the same for me
Cause right now youre all I need
I have found within myself every thing I need to get by cause I know what to do
In the meantime continue to love you
In the meantime what do you do when there is no one left but you and youre
Alone how do you feel when the one you love doesnt seem real do you run or do
You try to heal the hurt inside
But in the meantime (repeat til fade)

An artist never works under ideal conditions. If they existed, his work wouldn't exist, for the artist doesn't live in a vacuum. Some sort of pressure must exist. The artist exists because the world is not perfect. Art would be useless if the world were perfect, as man wouldn't look for harmony but would simply live in it. Art is born out of an ill-designed world. This is the issue in Andrey Rubliov.
