People must insist on the right to say no, to be alone, to stand out from the herd. Creative artists can say all this in their own way and in their own field, by hard, rigorous work.

I think there are different ways of being rigorous, and I am asking people to be as rigorous in their pleasure as in their criticism.

A lot of artists are much more concerned about how their work is used and how it's disseminated. That, to artists, is as important as the money, for some people.

50%
Honestly, ma'am,
I must say that I despise work,
For I put only 50% into it,
And I know that is mediocrity for you,
But that is my full effort to me.
Now, I cannot stand working
Behind a cubicle,
With people telling me what to do,
For I hate being bossed around,
And it is so boring in here.
I would rather work in a place
Where I could work with my hands
Or use my brain to do something creative
And innovative unlike
All of the paperwork we do here,
But since the work is so boring here,
I cannot help but give my 50%,
And I know it is half of
What you want from me,
But I rest my case.
Good day, ma'am.

A Warriors Poem
Here i stand upon this field
Here i stand alone
Here i stand upon this field of battle
Surrounded by my dead
Alone i stood
Alone i fought
Alone i stood
My enermy alone i faced
Here i stand to this day
Here i stand alone
My foe's i fought
My foe's i defeated
For i stand alone
upon this field of life
But not alone i stand
for about me stand my friend's
Comrades in arm's warriors all
Upon this field of life we Stand.

Most artists have experienced the creative block. We get stuck in our work. We beat our head against the wall: nothing. Sometimes, it is because we are trying something at the wrong time.

I Don't Wanna Work
Well i give it little care
Does anybody out there even know
I'm in here?
I just keep my movement going
Somewhere
Like playing in the background baby
Like playing in the background baby
I play the game
You play the way that most men would choose
I'm surprised at you
Way back in the middle of a broken down love affair
You and i found each other
And we fell in love
I ain't never met a man and woman get along better
Than you and i when get together
Still i say
I don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
Don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
Don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
Not if it makes me cry
No no
See the lady walking down the street
She's got on high heel shoes
And her hair full of curlers
She's got stiletto nails
And some black mascara
She's got a push up and a pick up
I tell you that girl's working overtime
I don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
Don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
Not if it makes me cry
No no no no no no
I don't wanna work
I don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work it if makes me cry
Spent last night
Talking to myself in bed
Wondering why i do this over
Over and over again
I don't know
I, i, i, i don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work that hard
Not when it makes me cry
I don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work not that hard
I don't wanna work it it makes me cry
I don't wanna work that hard
I don't wanna work not that hard
I don't wanna work if it makes me cry

People Expect Too Much From Me
aug,11,2010
people expect me to be perfect,
because i'm smart,
people expect me to get good grades,
because of all the hard work i put in,
people expect me to have my own business,
because i can be talented and creative,
people expect me to be a push over,
rather than a girl who speaks her mind,
people expect me to be something i'm not,
but all i can be is only myself,
people expect me to deal with life,
i can only deal with it the best i can,
people expect me to handle more than i can,
but who is it really for or what do i have to prove?
people expect me to be who they want,
but did they ever stop to think of what i wanted?

I Will Have To Work Hard
I will have to work hard
I will have to work hard
This world is a mischief, full of hazards
I can not sleep, i may not be in the womb
A dream is nourishing, smoldering like a bomb
People are racing towards a dark cave
This dream is heady, but not a dupe slave
An eye in a dream or a dream in an eye
Hatched in black, exploring a blue sky
It is still tidy, doesn't need any nard
I will have to work hard
I will have to work hard
It is clean, It is holy
empowered by God
It's soul is almighty with healthy bod
A long way to go, a long way to go
Wings are mature, now ground is below
never weary, never desire a bard
I will have to work hard
I will have to work hard

Face
She's got an iron will
She's gonna do what she thinks is right
I know she will
And as for me I'm not that silent
It's hard to live in a world this quiet
And if you want me to let you go
Well I think you should know
That I tried hard to live without you
But it doesn't work for me
And I tried not to think about you
But your in all my dreams
I can't stand living on my own
I can't stand staring into space
I hate that everything I see turns into your face
She left an empty house
Without a word, without a sound
Without a shout
And as for me I'm not that silent
It's hard to live in a world this quiet
And if you want me to let you go
Well I think you should know
That I tried hard to live without you
But it doesn't work for me
And I tried not to think about you
But your in all my dreams
I can't stand living on my own
I can't stand staring into space
I hate that everything I see turns into your face
My teary eyes have seen all I wanna see
Of the world
I tried hard to live without you
But it doesn't work for me
And I tried not to think about you
But your in all my dreams
I can't stand living on my own
I can't stand staring into space
I hate that everything I see turns into your face
Turns into your face

Tender and Sweet
Sorry to disappoint.
But I am not the tender/sweet kind.
I am aware that kind of association,
Is generally placed upon those
Who express their creativity as a performing art.
And the 'arts' are suppose to be for those of limp wrists.
I've heard that all my life.
And no one I've ever met quite depicted that at all.
Those I know are very hard working.
Thought provoking and determined.
Architects are artists.
Athletes are entertainers.
And those who dance for a living...
God bless them.
Where would this society be?
If a carpenter had no creative abilities to use a tree.
The only people I observe who are tender and sweet.
Are those who do exactly as they are told.
Then complain and whine to everyone they meet.
And they are much too weak to do what I do!
But I will say...
Preferences?
I have a few of those.

Determined And Disciplined
I had been once told,
My advice given to those...
Wanting careers in the performing arts,
Was a bit too frightening, bleak and stark.
And would scare them away from the field.
Well,
My attitude about that is this...
If it is something desired one wishes,
They will find a way to do it regardless...
Of the opposition,
Seeking to diminish a mind determined and disciplined.
And those skating through creative professions,
Seeking the ease by which to pursue a dream...
Can do that to realize the heights of mediocrity.
However...
A greatness achieved takes a lot of hard work.
And very little sleep to give it life to breathe.

Why Work Ourselves Hard
Hard workers are long lived that does seem a lie
For the harder you work the sooner you may die
You drive a car hard though it's engine and body is strong
It quickly wears out it does not last that long
Hard work on the ageing body does take it's toll
Relaxation is good for the muscles and the soul
A time to recover when you are feeling tired
A balance in life is the thing most desired
By sensible people who know how to relax
Too much of hard work on your health a huge tax
In a World where many are driven by greed
The more money we have the more we think we do need
Why work ourselves hard when we can live on less
The heart it lives longer without strain and stress.

Glad To Be Alive (7'' Mix)
[INTRO:]
Ohh life's so hard
Someday's you need something new to wear
Like a brand new hat
[1a:]
Try so hard
To work it out
People try to hold you back
On day's like that
You need another hand
[1b:]
It's the same all over the world
People have to earn a living
Now you're so far from the troubles at home
Leave them alone
And they'll work themselves out
[CHORUS:]
We love it
Glad to be alive
I like it
Working over time in lovin'
I hope tomorrow feels like this
Yeah
[2:]
Dreaming hard
Brand new car
And another home loan
And the phone bill is overdue
Don't give up on rainy days
I've seen the sun come shining through
On you and me
Make you feel alright
[1b:]
[CHORUS:]
[BRIDGE:]
Life's so hard
We can work it out
Will it's a big tough city
We can work out our way
[CHORUS:]
[repeat & fade]
