I loved history, particularly of the British, American and Old Testament kind.

If you stop and think about our history, one of the reasons we had an American century and there is an American dream was because at key points in our history we made very bold decisions about making sure that there was very broad, universal access to quality education.

Strange Kind Of Women
There once was a woman, a strange kind of woman
The kind that gets written down in history
Her name was Nancy, her face was nothing fancy
She left a trail of happiness and misery
I loved her, everybody loved her
She loved everyone and gave them good return
I tried to take her, I even tried to break her
She said, I ain't for takin', won't you ever learn
I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you
I spent my money as I took my turn
I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you
Ooh, I got a strange kind of woman
She looks like a raver, but I could never please her
On Wednesday mornings, boy, you can't go far
I couldn't get her, but things got better, she said
Saturday nights from now on, baby, you're my star
I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you
I spent my money as I took my turn
I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you
Ooh, I got a strange kind of woman
Ooh, my soul, I love you
I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you
I spent my money as I took my turn
I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you
Ooh, I got a strange kind of woman
She finally said she loved me, I wed her in a hurry
And no more callers and I glow with pride
I'm dreaming, I feel like screaming
I won my woman just before she died
I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you
I spent my money as I took my turn
I want you, I need you, I gotta be near you
Ooh, I had a strange kind of woman

All American Girl
Skin tight soul delight
Changing her life for another
She dreams magazines
Sees herself on the cover
Anything anytime anywhere
Its fitting in that matters
Faithfully she believes in the look he wants to know better
She knows what she wants
Shes an all american girl
She knows what she needs
Shes a sold american girl
She knows what she knows
Shes an all american girl
She does what she does
Shes an all american girl
Sold american
Shes got a double bubble with a bossanova back
Shes a real hot pepper and I like it like that
Its all right you dont have to change your way
Youre all right Im hoping the best part stays
She knows what she wants
Shes an all american girl
She knows what she needs
Shes a sold american girl
She knows what she knows
Shes an all american girl
She does what she does
Shes an all american girl
Sold american
Street smart close to the heart gotta be real
More than the clothes you wear
You know what youve got look to your heart
You carry your history there

Daughter
Why is the world at peace.
This may astonish you a little but when you realise how
easily Mrs. Charles Bianco sells the work of American
painters to American millionaires you will recognize that
authorities are constrained to be relieved. Let me tell you a
story. A painter loved a woman. A musician did not sing.
A South African loved books. An American was a woman
and needed help. Are Americans the same as incubators.
But this is the rest of the story. He became an authority.

An American
An American,
she thought he was,
the hair cut
and the style of clothes
gave her a clue,
at least that
and the drawn out
drawl like he was drawing
the words
from a deep well.
Her father called him a Yank,
didn’t take to him at all,
wouldn’t even speak
when he said, Hello Sir,
all kind of polite,
thoughtful and well bred,
and her mother
was always gazing at him,
taking in his walk,
his talk and remembering
years before,
some similar American
with his big blue eyes
and wide wallet
brushed her off her feet
and broke her heart
and left a bundle
in her womb,
a daughter,
wanting to go
with an American now,
history trying to repeat,
break a heart
after sweeping of her feet.

Too Much Water
Too much, its too much, too much
Got too much water under the bridge
Got too much, too much, got too much
Got too much water under the bridge
I got to think of something, think of something
I got to think of something
We got to hang together, we got to hang together
We got to hang together, or hang separately
Maybe we got time to burn
I got a yen to hear myself talk
But I dont want to make that kind of history
Put your hand on the rock
And maybe youve got nothing left to learn
You put me in a state of shock
But do you want to make that kind of history
Put your hand on the rock
And let it all run out
You know why we got to hang together
Number one aint always number one
Instant karmas always coming back
And I dont want to make that kind of history
Put your hand on the rock
Tell ya mamma natures on the run
Bad karmas running in the back
But do we want to make that kind of history
Put your hand on the rock
And let it all run out
You know why we got to get together
We got no more time to burn
We got to crawl before we can walk
So if you wanna make a new kind of history
Put your hand on the rock
And I got a few things Id like to learn
I get tired of hearing myself squawk
And I wanna make a new kind of history
Put your hand on the rock
And let it all run out
You know why we got to hang together

The Hindu Scriptures
If you followed the Manu,
The Hindus Old Testament,
You would be a criminal.
If you followed the Geetha,
The Hindu’s New testament,
You would be held insane.
The scriptures are meant to read
And preach to earn an image.

We are here knowing that we are at an inflection point in the history of our world. We are at an inflection point in in the history of our nation. We are here because the American Dream and our American democracy are under attack and on the line like never before. We are here at this moment in time because we must answer a fundamental question: Who are we? Who are we as Americans? So, let’s answer that question. To the world. And each other. Right here. And, right now. … We can heal our nation. We can give our children the future they deserve. We can reclaim the American Dream for every single person in our country. We can restore America’s moral leadership on this planet. So let’s do this. And let’s do it together. And let's start now.

Napoleon Bonaparte
The world lay at his feet
and the whole of Europe he wanted to unite,
into Asia his armies swept
conquering Russia
until they met up with a fierce winter
and at Waterloo he had the British outgunned
until rain fell for days
and his big guns got stuck in the mud.
Whatever stories history, the Russians
and the British do tell,
against nature and its Creator
Napoleon’s armies did fall.
