It is an endless procession of surprises. The expected rarely occurs and never in the expected manner.

Expecting
Your mouth said this never
but your fingers have shown me
that your head is so clever
you claim that you own me
forever
You have the right to conduct me
in whatever fashion
your attempt construct me
in the interest of passion
you sent me
to toledo
I came back with handfulls
I did what you asked me
but after the thank yous
that you quickly got passed me
Im expected
youre expecting
Im expected

Certainly my parents were a huge influence. They always expected the most out of all of us. And expected us to do our very best. I'm thankful to them for allowing me to do what I wanted to do.

Too Much Is Expected
No one...
Given life to breathe,
Is born with a cold heart.
Beating with a rhythm,
That is ready to freeze.
No one...
Should be expected,
To show warmth and love.
If none has been surrounding one...
Being expressed.
Or shown to one how that's addressed.
No child learning to crawl, walk and talk.
Grows into an adult...
Prepared with maturity.
Or an accountability.
If no examples of that were ever there!
How is one expected to become aware?
Too much is expected.
From those who have been neglected.
And too much for too long goes undenied...
By one feeling insecure and desperate inside.
With no one to confide in...
From a shattering that goes on alone.
And kept condoned to grow unknown outside.

How My Household Works
Before you use me in any manner,
To bolster and advantage your lifestyle.
With a reference to have other folks believe,
They can call to get an endorsement for you...
From me.
You better call to remind me who you are.
FIRST!
Especially if we met just briefly.
And I impressed you,
As someone who could be tricked and fooled.
Since there has been many disappointed,
Who believed I was easy to deceive.
It must be the way my sincerity reeks.
And if people are calling me,
To supply you a free testimony.
I know you don't know me at all!
Since I see the value in scratching backs.
With a quench of my thirst.
And a payment expected to treat as dessert.
That's how I keep on the lights.
And managed to nibbled on what I like at nights.
AND how my household works.
If I am expected to assist 'your' life with 'perks'.
Someone,
Like you...
Might wish to consider this first!
With a clear understanding of my well-being.
If you seek to use me to promote your 'scene'.
'I'm sorry.
You have the wrong number.
I know of no one by that name.
It's okay!
There has been no inconvenience.'

Plenty Of Shared Lip Service
Those unfamiliar with leadership,
Should not be expected
To understand it.
There are more accustomed,
To being followers.
And it can be annoying,
To hear them whining.
Bickering amongst themselves,
In footsteps from behind.
One who leads,
Hardly sleeps or properly eats.
Thinking of the whole as one entity,
And not several pieces to see pleased.
One who leads,
Had to learn to listen.
And those who have no idea what this means
Often pass judgement,
With a seeking to do it.
At every given opportunity.
Those unfamiliar with leadership,
Should not be expected.
To understand it.
What 'can' be expected from those unaware,
Is plenty of shared lip service.
And a volunteering of their mocked despair.

So I did.
I kissed her child as she expected.
I praised my host as he expected.
I praised his work as I am supposed.
They wanted to be fooled so I did.

Love is elusive.
Love – we don’t give
In expected measure
Nor do we get
In expected measure.
The world has never been happy.

Be There...To Love. Committed
Be there...
To love.
Committed.
Preferences and love,
Do not mix.
There is no chemistry in it.
Not in an foreverness.
If this is expected to exist.
Be there...
To love.
Committed.
Quickly forgive and forget,
Arguments.
Adjust and submit.
Being alone and in love,
Is rarely admitted.
Be there...
To love.
Committed.
Resolve conflicts.
Have none of it.
Don't let love drift.
Where is the benefit,
When loneliness visits.
Be there...
To love.
Committed.
Quickly forgive and forget,
Arguments.
Adjust and submit.
Being alone and in love,
Is rarely admitted.
Be there...
To love.
Committed.
Preferences and love,
Do not mix.
There is no chemistry in it.

Be there...
To love.
Committed.

Epitaph On A Disturber Of His Times
We expected the violin's finger on the upturned nerve;
Its importunate cry, too laxly curved:
And you drew us an oboe-outline, clean and acute;
Unadorned statement, accurately carved.
We expected the screen, the background for reverie
Which cloudforms usefully weave:
And you built the immaculate, adamant, blue-green steel
Arch of a balanced wave.
We expected a pool with flowers to diffuse and break
The child-round face of the mirrored moon:
And you blazed a rock-path, begun near the sun, to be finished
By the trained and intrepid feet of men.

The Seed And The Fruit
sometimes the seed
wonders
after it has seen its fruit
if the same
has come from it
sometimes the fruit
is more luscious
sweet and
crunchy,
well loved and
sought, and
expensively priced
than what the seed
has expected
for all we know,
mortals as we
nature also makes
the surprises
of its genes.

The consequences of things are not always proportionate to the apparent magnitude of those events that have produced them. Thus the American Revolution, from which little was expected, produced much; but the French Revolution, from which much was expected, produced little.

Not On My Side Of Sanity
I'm expected to be in place,
For those that are inconsistent?
And unreliable too?
I don't think so.
I may live in that kind of environment.
But being part of it,
Is not my commitment.
I'm not loyal to anyone's agonies.
I'm expected to sit and listen,
To others who boo-hoo about their every pain?
And I'm suppose to remain attached,
While they stay uninvolved to play games?
I do 'not' think so.
Not on my side of sanity.
People like that I leave alone.
And stay as distant as I can be!

Emma
Your size is bigger than what she expected but,
I am satisfied with your love;
Your size is smaller than what he expected but,
I am satisfied with your love;
And Emma came along to advice you,
Because the bush around is very thick.

Such Our Love
It was a bus by the corner,
I looked around and found no wheels,
Where are the seats, empty bus
The engine so inimical to locomotion,
Yet we expected it to move,
So was the bus, such our love
It was a clear blue sky,
The sun rays passing through earth,
Where are the clouds, empty sky
The sky so inimical to condensation,
Yet we expected it to rain,
So was the sky, such our love
It was a dead dodo,
So pityful in its dying minutes,
Where is life, dead dodo,
The dodo is inimical to its survival,
Yet we expected it to live and fly,
So was the dodo, such our love
You and I were a shadow,
An empty and stagnant bus,
A clear blue sky,
A lifeless dodo,
Planning was alien to us,
So was opportunism, such our love

When One Is Young
When one is young,
Growing seems so slow...
The days go on forever.
And the nights are there to never,
Appear to go.
When one is young,
It seems no one will listen...
The adults seem to dismiss,
Whatever the young wants to know.
When,
One is young...
They think that they can get,
Anything that they wish.
No matter who delivers..
They want it quick.
And when one is young...
Life is not so precious.
And patience is not there...
When one is young.
When one is young...
Today they live with pressures,
To be more than expected.
And choose to be correct...
Without direction there!
When one is young...
Today they live with pressures,
To be more than expected.
And choose to be correct...
Without direction there!
When one is young...
Today they live with pressures,
To be more than expected.
Without direction there!

The Pearls on a String
A lifetime full of motley shades,
some vibrant and a few hued blue
Most transpired as expected events,
others unceremoniously undue
Expected storms can be endured
not the sudden gusts of the winds wild
With time one learns to ingest the toughest
but the mushy intake mild
Millions may be in reckoning
but with just a handful one does equate
Those reposing faith in your objectivity
and with you empathetically relate
