The Architect is just one of a series of works which examine the confrontation of innocence and experience, illustrating the complex ethics of power that exist between reader and writer, critic and artist, the human and the divine.

Reader or writer

If you are a reader or a writer.
You should be a positive thinker.
You are more like a scientist observer.
Try to be an exact experimenter.
Nothing is too crazy to put on paper.

If you are a reader or a writer.
The reader is a wonderful dreamer.
The writer is a sincere worker.
Its lovely that both can be each other.

If you are a reader or a writer.
You should never say never.
So don't leave behind a book marker.
Make sure you have a word sharpener.

A Great Master Poet Wrote

A great master poet told
how nature interceded
and interrupted a architect’s design
and made it’s own adjustments in time

but that the master designing artist’s eye,
his mind, comprehended
the difference and from it found
a brilliant answer to where
the problems were

and yet a man of the book
took it upon himself
to declare the designers work
as a copy of strokes
made by the hand of God
which lead to the ruination
of that master architect.

Now if we follow this argument
every poem, even every thought,
every painting
about nature’s splendour
or even the beauty of the human being
or whatever,
you could connect to God or His creation,
even when we sing words, paint pictures
and create art
it does not belong to the author
but to the Lord God and his church.

l’Envoi
If you take the artist away
from designs, verses, paintings, music
(from whatever art)
it will not be there
and it will not exist,

which leaves me to conclude
that some men of the holy book
do claim in the name of the divine
that which does not belong to them
or their church.

Critics’ ego

A critic is the one
Who has a complex
That he is superior
To the one whose works
He is set to criticize,
Notwithstanding
His inability
To create such one.

Andrei Tarkovsky

An artist never works under ideal conditions. If they existed, his work wouldn't exist, for the artist doesn't live in a vacuum. Some sort of pressure must exist. The artist exists because the world is not perfect. Art would be useless if the world were perfect, as man wouldn't look for harmony but would simply live in it. Art is born out of an ill-designed world. This is the issue in Andrey Rubliov.

Human Experience

What other experience,
Would one wish to have...
Than this as it is.
This human experience?

Having life,
Which is not always happy or sad!
Although on occasion ecstatic.
And at other times life sits in a static.
Emphatically stagnant,
That seems to drag!

Blending in with nature's mix...
Are the 'have nots' with those who 'have'.
And many interpret this,
Based upon materialistic wishes.
With accumulated treasures...
To fulfill dreams and hopes,
The human experience teaches...
Showers those who are persistently consistent.
And driven by 'ethics' of hard work.

And yet there are others,
Who would rather sit and complain.
As they seek someone devoted to listen to them...
With patience enough,
That does not exhaust with a straining of the brain.
Or completely drain to leave one insane.

Relationships diverse and complex...
With choices chosen by preferences.
To tease with variety,
That appease appetites craved...
To quench a thirst that exists.

Having life,
Which is not always happy or sad!
Although on occasion ecstatic.
And at other times life sits in a static.
Emphatically stagnant,
That seems to drag!

But what other experience,
Would one wish to have...
Than this as it is.
This human experience?

Would it be better enjoyed...
If taxes and the stress of living it,
Were totally eliminated?
And the ease of laziness...
Awarded those who are,
With prizes and gifts...
For this accomplishment!

Life it is not just a series of calculations and a sum total of statistics, it's about experience, it's about participation, it is something more complex and more interesting than what is obvious.

Eye to Eye

A poet with an artist’s eye
can conjure words to set the scene.
Then with the words that he’ll supply
his reader feels as though he’s seen.
The same scene which the poet saw
Draws on his own experience
of things that he has seen before
though it makes little difference.
The message that the poet sent
is perhaps not the one received
The reader senses the intent
and finds the poem well conceived.
The picture which the reader gets
is the scene his own mind sets

Prosperity and poverty

Hunger for food has been met;
Hunger for love has set in.

Hunger for power has been met;
Hunger for ethics has set in.

Hunger for lust has been met;
Hunger for faith has set in.

Thirst for knowledge has been met;
Thirst for innocence has set in.

Thirst for contacts has been met;
Thirst for concerns has set in.

Thirst for comfort has been met;
Thirst for compassion has set in.

Love, ethics, faith lost,
Innocence, concerns and compassion missing,

Despite food, power and lust,
Despite knowledge, comfort and compassion,

The soul will die a slow death
Long before the body succumbs.

The world will not die of poverty
But it will sure die of prosperity.

A Poem Is...

A poem is a set of thoughts some writer may express,
Such that with these as his cohorts, who knows if he will bless?
Yet if he does, then shake his hand and pat him on the back!
If not, then banish from this land, or else give him the sack!

A poem is a set insight some writer may relay,
That helps to pass some stormy night or some cold rainy day...
If not, a night without a storm, a day with sunshine filled,
It matters not if hot, cold, warm, as long as we are thrilled...

A poem is a set of themes some writer thinks as wise,
Enough to share with us his dreams with reams before our eyes...
As if to serve some higher will, or merely help his tribe,
Ten years may pass, yet he writes still, as if some royal scribe...

A poem is a precious gift, some writer's masterpiece,
Through which the reader has to sift, its nuggets to release...
Or else it's just some words that rhyme, or unrhymed phrases penned,
In either case, was it sublime, as if a brand new friend?

A poem is a talent shared, fresh-written or in books
And thus with others is compared as each new reader looks...
Anthologies are all the rage! That's where my poems are!
You see, in time, I reached the stage when I became a star!

So read my poems here and there! Reflect on old and new,
If you like them, then say a prayer, because I've prayed for you...
That you may find my treasure trove, my love-filled legacy,
My talent meant to bless us both... for all eternity...

The poem was written in regard to a TV series
on Sky Digital's Disney Junior and Disney Junior+
entitled A Poem Is... It was described in this way:

British celebrities combined with powerful
animation moments from Disney's magical legacy...

Examination

Abolish examination.
And who are you to take examination?

Do you know whom to examine
And how to examine?

If you are so keen to take examination
Examine yourself first.

It is not easy to examine self
And pass the examination
scoring top.

Examine self while alone
Alone at night
Alone at bed.

Dare not examine others and
Dare not examine especially children.
