Overall my race hasn't been a problem. I'm a Black artist with White skin. At the end of the day you have to sing what's in your own soul.

White Skin Black Heart

Yeah, whatcha gonna do now, now that you started?
Whatcha gonna do now, now that its done?
The words got out there, they float around and are coming right back down.
You gonna leave us lying here
Dealing with the consequences of a bad sound
Of a bad sound.
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
Whatcha gonna do now, that its spoken?
These words of a habit, have not faded away.
.................... it clear, conscious gets opened like a wound.
If you cant concieve a better line and better times,
Then let silence bury you, in the end.
When you feel it, when you feel it
Youre condemned.
You see, youve lost your strangle on the freedom road! you
Think ........................of something a long time ago! you
[spewed it out you were so] insecure! it was like ............. on
The toilet floor! youre a [nine seat] drunk, ............... and
You say you want something, .......... you heard the rednecks
Roaring for blood and then they wanted more! life was so small, you
Couldnt get enough. you made a start.
White skin black heart
Dripping,
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
Drag your eyes from [aurora] black heart!
White skin black heart
Drag your leg, get outta here [my sight]!
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
White skin black heart
You didnt have to start
White skin black heart

Half my father

Half my father
Half my mother
My mother white as a ghost
My father black as coal
In my face the mixture glows
My skin is white
Still I am a black man
By the make of my nose
My hair is curly
My eyes are gray
Within me both if them lives
My mother’s race
Did enslave
My father’s race
Was never paid.
Still within I bare the two
Am O the new American?
My father is white
My mother is Korean
They met during the war
And I was born
Their only son
By my tone of skin
And by my eyes
You can tell
That there is a divide
And by my blonde hair
It is there for you to spy
Am I the new American?
My mother is German
My father polish
I learned three languages
As I grew older
Both of them
Did love me well
And of each country did tell
That I could draw
From each well
Am I the new American?
My father is Chinese
My mother Spanish
Both crossed over the Rio Grand
I am in the make of my father
But I have my mother’s brown skin
Am I the new American?

Zebra Child

I’m not black
I’m not white
I’m a Zebra Child.

My father skin is fare like a pinkish cloud.
My mother skin is dark like coco.
My skin is both swirled into a light caramel color.

I’m not black
I’m not white
I’m a Zebra Child.

My eyes are hazel with a hint of blue.
My hair is kinky yet manageable.
While I have African hips
I also have European lips.

I’m not black
I’m not white
I’m a Zebra Child.

I relish my difference
Although some times
I envy others similarity.

But I am what I am.

I’m not black
I’m not white
I’m a Zebra Child.

Operation Racism

Around the world
Black and white
Labeling people of different colors
It's not right
We're all human
No need to name
The colors of their skin
Take a white man
Take a black man
Open them both up
And you'll see it's all the same
Not a difference
We all feel emotions
We all have the same needs
We all go through the same things
We are one race
All the same
No need for racism
Cuz it makes too much to blame

You know, I don't play the race card a lot. I'm half-black, half-white, and I'm proud of - my skin is brown. The world sees me as a black man, but my mother didn't raise me as a black man. She didn't raise me as a white guy.

The Mulatto to His Critics

Ashamed of my race?
And of what race an I?
I am many in one.
Thru my veins runs the blood
Of Red Man, Black Man, Briton, Celt and Scot,
In warring clash and tumultuous riot.
I welcome all,
But love the blood of the kindly race
That swarthes my skin, crinkles my hair,
And puts sweet music into my soul.

The Artists

you are the best artists
You hang my skin on the wall and drew me with ulna dip into my blood
You are great
You drew my face on your heart and paint it with love
You sew my name on your lip and pin it to the cloud
You background me with you in the distant future
Holding our seeds with smile of euphoria
You are my artist
You drew my mistakes on my chest and erase
It with your hand wrapping me softly
You blend our soul and mind and mount it as a kite flying the banner of bliss
You are beautiful
I've paint your heart with musk, your lip with honey and you skin with amber
We are both an artist
We carved ourselve with due
You clipped my eyes to the moon
I clipped the stars to you hair with galaxies of flower decorating our world
You my artist
You drew me with the world gazing at your statue hanging on the sky with flying nymphs sing songs of our artistic shadow

Your Unemployment Has Been Denied

'Sir sorry, but your unemployment is denied.'
Why?
'Well to put it simply your white, and should be able to get a job no problem.'
Okay what does my skin color have to exactly do with collecting my unemployment?
Isn't that discrimination?
'Well no, because your white.'
'We have done studies on this and their is no such thing as discriminating against a white person.'
'This is why we can deny you and not the Hispanic.'
'Because we don't want the headache of legal lawsuits.'
So your are saying I can't sue you?
'Yes, they're are no free handouts here.'
'Oh and good luck with the job hunting.'
Wait just one minute, how dare you I payed into it and have every right to get it back.
I am no different then anybody else.
'I sorry sir but you are and this is goodbye, 'click''

Black Woman

black woman
woman black
sing to me
sing to me
like Roberta Flack
tell me your longing
say you'll be there
tell it like honey
your cool moist breath

black woman
black as the cat
who strives in the night
sleek as the bird
daring in flight

black as the land
in which you were born
and bleak the day
from that earth
you were torn

black angel
black eyes aware
ebony skin
natural hair
black woman
woman black
love me forever
love me now
don't hold back

Colors

There was a black man
There was a blue man
They hated each other
For the color of the skin
They both believed the other
To be the offspring of some great sin...
One dark day
They got into a helluva fight
Each believing to be in the right
They beat upon each other
Through and through
They beat each other black and blue,
Until finally
They both did come to see
How much alike
They'd come to be.
Now there is a black man
There is a blue man
Together they stand
Once divided by the color of the skin
Never more shall they
Be blinded that way again...
Black or white
Yellow or red
The color of the skin
Is truly all inside the head,
And the colors in the head
Come out in the words
That are said,
And the words
That are said
Can leave the heart so alive,
Or, utterly dead.
It's a choice to make:
Either for the image of the soul
Or, for the color of the skins sake;
The darkness of night
Or, the beauty from
The colors of the
Light.

Two Different People

Two different people
Black people, white people
Black world, White world
A black person thinks different from the white people
White people thinks highly of himself
White people works very hard for his living
Black's are lazy
They don't want to work, they just want the money
You have to work for the money, they just don't get it
White people knows that there are no free ride in life
Black's want a free ride, there are no free ride in life
Nothing is free in life except for the air that you breathe
The white people have to be careful of what they say to the black People
Whatever you say to the black people if they don't like it they will say it Is discrimination
We can't understand them
They have a mind of their own
The white people are loving and caring
What about the black people?
Not a hope in hell
I don't want any part of the black world
The black world is not safe for me
So I rather stay in my white world where I feel safe
We can't trust them
The reason why there is violence in this world is because the black People cause it
Now they don't like it because they have to live with it
We want a safe world for our people
The black people don't care about it because the only thing they know And seen is violence
There is too much violence on TV
They like it
They like the feeling of danger
We white don't like the feeling of danger
The blacks hate the white people and the white people don't like them Either
The white people knows when to shut up
The black people never knows when to shut up
There is why there are always problem with them
They make life miserable for us
The white people will always be a good friend
The black people can never be your friend
They will take everything they can get from you for free

Black men, White men

should i be led to believe
that the white men's heart
is soft as cotton? and when
touched, is torched, bursts into flame
to settle comfortably in black,
a trail of humble lesson for the soul

should i be led to believe
that a black man's heart is
full of courage? charging like a bull
through America black or white
settling for nothing in between?

should i be led to believe that
black and white work the
theory of ying and yang
ever balancing to rev up the world?
rice would even grow in bush
black hair turns eventually into
a crown of white wisdom
and blackboards light up
knowledge in white chalk
white shines at its best in black
and where else but a piece of white
where black could make its clearest stamp
of its stand - left or right, right or wrong

On Reading Blake's 'Little Black Boy

Two centuries or even more gone by
Since William Blake wrote 'The little black boy'
He told in verse how black skin equalled white
And in what he wrote of course the poet was right.

He wrote the famous verses at a time
When to be black was looked on as a crime
A lesson in human love perhaps one day
That others might learn from what he had to say.

His verses put him in a higher place
When he wrote of the equality of race
And in history the great poet made his mark
When he preached that white was no greater than dark.

But even in the twenty first century
Some with the Poet's views still do not agree
Some still say black is not as good as white
But of course these people live in darker light.

A lesson here for all humanity
From bard who lived in eighteenth century
That racial discrimination is unwise
As all different races equal in God's eyes.

I sing (Nafaka)

I sing with the living the dead songs of the past
I sing with the deaд the people of the future
I sing with the black dawns and white nights
I sing with the cradles and the graves
I sing with the forgotten ones
With the innocents and the villains
I sing with my life
With my own disappearance
I sing
I sing
Until I cannot
Eternally unsung

The Black Victory

The true joy is the measure of self-justice planted in the essence of black beauty; we are the black
soul of mind serenity, we come a long way we cannot fail!
Not at this time bounded by dimensions of poverty and inequality, no! Not within a thousand years
We have survived the storms of cold mentality; our hearts are forever thankful and for an eternity will sing all hail!
Sing for the redemption of all; lost years, the seed of black thought and the time spent in the valley of tears
Upon this day we have carried the burden of our struggle, the sorrow within our tears is our testimony
We have conquered our fears, and the valley of tears painted by the seed of white age and thought
The progress can never be stopped by any measure, nor by law or by white the discrimination living in black Irony!
We shall win as we were meant to win, the black victory, we are the immortal battle that the white masters never fought!

Skin Cannot Hide!

black skin,
...white skin,
.....red skin,
.......brown skin....

human beating hearts!
...red blood, needs and wants,
.....all breathing,

........the same air!

coming from darkness
.....into the light,

wrapped in different packages,
....all by the same hand,

small pieces of the universe,

skin cannot hide God's reflection!

Black Tie White Noise

Getting my facts from a benneton ad
Im lookin thru african eyes
Lit by the glare of an l.a. fire
Black tie white noise
Ive got a face, not just my race, bang bang Ive got you babe
Putting on the black tie
Crankin up the white noise
Sun comes up and the man goes down
And the woman comes again
Just an hour or so to be safe from fear
Black tie white noise
Then we jump thru hoops, were divisable now, just disappear
Putting on the black tie
Crankin up the white noise
We reach out over race and hold each others hands
Then die in the flames singing we shall overcome
Whoa! whats going on?
Therell be some blood no doubt about it
But well come thru dont doubt it
I look into your eyes and I know you wont kill me
I look into your eyes and I know you wont kill me
You wont kill me
You wont kill me no
But I look into your eyes
And I wonder sometimes
Putting on the black tie
Crankin up the white noise
Oh lord, just let him see me
Lord, lord just let him hear me
Let him call me brother
Let him put his arms around me
Let him put his hands together.
Reach out over race and hold each others hands
Walk thru the nite thinking we are the world
Whoa! whats going on?
There will be some blood no doubt about it
But well come thru dont doubt it
I look into your eyes and I know you wont kill me
And I turn my back for I know you wont kill me
You wont kill me
You wont kill me no
But I wonder why
Yes, I wonder why sometimes
Putting on the black tie
Crankin up the white noise
Theyll show us how to break the rules
But never how to make the rules
Reduce us down to witless punks
Black tie white noise
Facist cries both black and white, whos got the blood, whos got the gun.
Putting on the black tie, cranking out the white noise
Oh yeah
Cranking out
Cranking out
Cranking out white noise
Black tie white noise
Cranking out
Cranking out
Putting on the black tie
Cranking up the white noise
Cranking out
Cranking out
Cranking out white noise
Black tie white noise
Cranking out
Cranking out

Race:

Tell me who chose his race
Who has designed his face,
Before he was born?
Is it you?
Show me your race request!
Explain to me your color pallet
Why are you putting race first?

Did your ancestry choose
Their skin color?
Did color even matter?
Who gives you the right,
To discriminate against others?

Telling me we are "not equal"
Putting yourself against the bible
Get out of this circle
Get out of this bubble
This action is reversible.

So much taste of pain
Too much mark of chain
Not to remember, not to maintain
The spirit and the complain
To the next generation, you explain!

As it takes love
To love someone else
It takes more than love
To love who hated you
You have to embrace
A total different race
If you are a racist
You need God's grace
If you are a sexist
You are out of trace.

Little Richard created Rock n Roll
Who is control it?
British created Soccer
Who is best at it?
People lynched people
Over race
People burned people
Over sect
People killed people
Over religion
If you discriminate
You have lost the race
Under the skin we are one
Black, White, Spanish
Asian, Indian just name
Human being is universal
Living in peace is principal
With every race is just moral.
