In any case, Ives encouraged me to go into music even though he himself had such a hard time being a composer.

Hard Up Case
You told me once I was your pride and joy
I guess those days are dead and gone
You must have took me for some golden boy
You didnt know what you were taking on
It was a hard up case
It was a hard up case
Just another hard up case
It was a hard up case
Just another hard up case
Now all the angles have been played in threes
There isnt much that I can say
I know you gave your little heart to me
I guess I threw the thing away
It was a hard up case
It was a hard up case
Just another hard up case
It was a hard up case
Just another hard up case
Sometimes the truth is kind of hard to find
But dont you worry I can read your mind
And you dont have to tell me to my face
You put some other joker in my place
They dealt us houses full with the queens and kings
And now theyre calling out our bluff
cause you and me girl we had everything
But it just wasnt quite enough
Now thats a hard up case
It was a hard up case
Just another hard up case
It was a hard up case
Just another hard up case
You say the truth is gonna set me free
Like you might throw a dog a bone
I know youre thinking that the jokes on me
Just take a look at what you re dragging home --
Another hard up case
It was a hard up case
Just another hard up case
It was a hard up case
Just another hard up case

It is conceivable that what is unified form to the author or composer may of necessity be formless to his audience.

It's hard to decide how to match words to music. It's not like it's twice the work. It's always difficult for me to explain to the composer what I'm looking for. I'm not a professional; I lack even basic knowledge about writing music.

But maybe music was not intended to satisfy the curious definiteness of man. Maybe it is better to hope that music may always be transcendental language in the most extravagant sense.

I really liked doing a number of the projects and directors, and etc., etc., I knew about half-way through that I would never be doing that again. It's just not me. I really am happy as a part-time film composer, not a full-time film composer.

Religion can make it worse. Are you supposing that if people were encouraged to believe in a transcendent reality, and to be encouraged by grand rituals and music and preaching, to love their neighbors, then they would put jealousy and frustration aside?

Music Man
Music man oh music man
I hear you, a sweet harmonious sound.
A sonata, a magnum opus of exquisite mysteries
Music man oh music man
Let me fill your notes with my vocal picturesque soul.
Any note played with you, I know I’ll hold.
This linear musical structure couldn’t be better synchronized
I aim to mesmerize hypnotize that lucid drum now stabilized
Can you see it, imagine it?
Dare to make a sweet tune in this duo with it.
I just can’t see anything other than a great masterpiece,
a symphony you’d be insane to miss.
Music man oh music man
Its time, time to tell you how your melody
It leads me to feel a case of charity.
It’s with you I want to write this song
I now I can’t stay long, my studio time is almost gone
Music man oh music man
.
My stage fright is now mild,
I sing to make that heart smile
So are you in, do you have my missing 6 bars
This is an invitation to reach the stars
Music man oh music man
I need to know how this lustful song will flow
My impatience, this need for exclamation,
a little information is making it hard to cope.
Music man, is this more than a just song?

One thing I am certain of is that, if I have done anything good in music, it was, first, because of my father, and second, because of my wife.

To me, all writing is like music. And especially dialogue. I studied music in college; that is what I wanted to be, a composer. Acting got me sidetracked.

Murder Case
What is there to do
Either way your going to lose,
Somebody you care about
Something you'll never doubt,
Like when you look into their eyes
And tell them it's okay to cry,
From the first time you kiss
Which in my case, I'll miss,
Every little thing we did
And the things that we hid,
Cause it hit me in the face
Damn- im in a murder case,
I can't run and i can't let get out
There's no reason to scream or to shout,
It's hard for me to let one go
And i keep telling my self i know,
I can tell how you feel
And i know everything is real,
You know i'll always miss you
And you know thats the truth,
My feelings will forever grow
And later down the line, they'll show,
How much you mean to me
And how much i wish we can be,
Forever together
Serperate in my sentences- NEVER,
This hurts me in so many ways
But it's time for me to say,
This hit me so hard in the face
Damn- im in a murder case....

The Music Of O Carolan
The music of O Carolan I have loved for many years
So sad and yet so beautiful it reduces one to tears
The poor blind harper of the County Meath is one many tend to under-rate
As a composer of beautiful music he is one we ought to celebrate
Carolan's Concerto and A Farewell To Music pieces of enduring fame
Just two that will live forever in Turlough O Carolan's name
Music composed by O Carolan easy to recognize
That he is not more famous is a bit of a surprise
The facts are true greatness is born of longevity and facts do never lie
And the music of O Carolan is not destined to die
For as long as people enjoy music his compositions will live on
Though physically he himself as a mortal to the ways of time have gone
The music of O Carolan I loved it as a boy
And in my early sixties it I do still enjoy.

It's Music Time
It's Music Time - what shall I do?
It's Music Time today.
I haven't really thought it through
And it's Music Time today.
It doesn't have to last too long
This Music Time today.
We haven't finished our number work
We could miss Music Time today.
But Johnny and Jane will go berserk
If there's no Music Time today.
We could always sing that assembly song
At Music Time today.
I know they'll want to get the instruments out
At Music Time today.
But can I stand all that crashing about?
When it's Music Time today.
Maybe we could take turns to play?
At Music Time today.
And if there's too much noise we'll just put them away
At Music Time today.
