In making a speech one must study three points: first, the means of producing persuasion; second, the language; third the proper arrangement of the various parts of the speech.

Language is legislation, speech is its code. We do not see the power which is in speech because we forget that all speech is a classification, and that all classifications are oppressive.

If a university official's letter accusing a speaker of having a proclivity to commit speech crimes before she's given the speech - which then leads to Facebook postings demanding that Ann Coulter be hurt, a massive riot and a police-ordered cancellation of the speech - is not hate speech, then there is no such thing as hate speech.

The wonders of the Grand Canyon cannot be adequately represented in symbols of speech, nor by speech itself. The resources of the graphic art are taxed beyond their powers in attempting to portray its features. Language and illustration combined must fail.

Free speech is meant to protect unpopular speech. Popular speech, by definition, needs no protection.

Good Speech
Think not, because thine inmost heart means well,
Thou hast the freedom of rude speech: sweet words
Are like the voices of returning birds
Filling the soul with summer, or a bell
That calls the weary and the sick to prayer.
Even as thy thought, so let thy speech be fair.

Flowery speech
Do not listen much
Flowery speech.
Flowery speech has
Got no strength
To attain
Determinate intellect
And you can not
Achieve supreme goal
Through these
Flowery speech.

Speech Behind Speech
Speech behind speech
That teaches itself under the touch and sight
In the night-bound city
Uncovers spaces where no spaces were before
Language of light
Uncovers spaces where no spaces were
Between the image of it and your face
Language of silence
Surface and see and touch
My name was left [?, maybe "expected"]
Speech behind speech
That teaches itself under the touch and sight
In the night-bound city
Language of light
Uncovers spaces where no spaces were
Between the image of it and your face
Language of silence
Surface and see and touch
My name was left [?, maybe "expected

Another Wink
Looking out of bed, I slept another wink,
Listening to the speech I delivered the day before.
I went to sleep in that speech,
Twelve people wanted me alive,
And the others saw noon at their shoulders.
A most preposterous time stated the times,
Facts of mere speech decide the outcome -
That deal called life and all of existence.

Down With The Thief!
Thump goes the speech, slanted at the crowd,
We profoundly undergo changes from this message.
To scrawl on the wall for benefits and facts
Perplexes the youth, let the speech be free of illness.
Empty is the talk, empty are the pockets of boys
Who steal knowledge from the brave and the old
Can be free.
Monsters pronounce the names,
Speech buries us under the ground.
For the conversation spills into speech,
And water transforms into ice
That cannot be drunk.
Thumping speeches have a message for the crowd
That thieves cannot master.

Speak Now
Spoken words carry no grace than the fury,
Tomorrow speech has enlarged revealingly.
Enticing talk is conversation too beautiful,
And fear and hatred is included.
Spears and backs of swords are leant against,
Taught are rasps of the air, calls of besiege;
The war of speech is a wage, a salary
For the troopers of the infantry, the real speech.

Make no laws whatever concerning speech, and speech will be free; so soon as you make a declaration on paper that speech shall be free, you will have a hundred lawyers proving that "freedom does not mean abuse, nor liberty license"; and they will define and define freedom out of existence. Let the guarantee of free speech be in every man's determination to use it, and we shall have no need of paper declarations. On the other hand, so long as the people do not care to exercise their freedom, those who wish to tyrannize will do so; for tyrants are active and ardent, and will devote themselves in the name of any number of gods, religious and otherwise, to put shackles upon sleeping men.

Hot Persuasion
You know you light my candle
You know you load my gun
Youre way too hot to handle
Theres nothing we aint done
Give me your love
Give me that hot persuasion
I cant get enough
Give me that hot persuasion
Give it to me!
Mouth full of hot persuasion
You face me upside down
A love for all occasions
You wont catch me foolin aroung
Give me your love
Give me that hot persuasion
I cant, cant get enough
Give me that hot persuasion
I need to know youre near me
I need you by my side
You keep my tank on empty
You keep me up all night
Give me your love
Give me that hot persuasion
Oh, cant get enough
Give me that hot persuasion
Give me your hot persuasion
I cant get enough, get enough
Ive done hot persuasion

Silence and Language
Silence is our original composition and speech
Languages are the dresses we wear;
What we convey and understand remains the same
Despite the various languages we use;
Words are clothed senses in silence;
Once we decipher, understanding dawns,
Silence, peace and bliss pervade us;
What we experience, mean, understand, conceive,
think, utter, listen, perceive, understand, experience
Through languages and communication are in essence the same.
The manifestations of Silence;
Silence is Divine Mood
Lord's Speech;
Communication with our Self is Silence;
Communication with the rest is
Silence wrapped, by language;
We need Silence and Language
Which are supplementary and complementary
In communication and for realization;

Everything that we inherit, the rain, the skies, the speech, and anybody who works in the English language in Ireland knows that there's the dead ghost of Gaelic in the language we use and listen to and that those things will reflect our Irish identity.

Free Speech!
free speech....
as long as you comply,
as long as what you say
is profitable... for them...
as long as what you say
doesnt ruffle feathers...
as long as what you say
isnt the truth....
free speech....
in spite of, irregardless of,
because we must....
because if we dont,
it goes away!
free speech...
whatever the cost!

Wailing On A Mountain
I wail across the edge of mountains
To echo my speech, that is a roar.
The lion has a heart of language that is old,
Rent in twain, like fire in the wind.
It is volcanic to cry forever,
But the lion is always on fire
Like the same mountain or fountain.
Rain is against rain and showing what rain is,
But the weeping has changed from the awed observer
Who listens to my speech that echoed on a mountain pass.

The radiant and well-understood speech of one person is better than the speech of a thousand people that is not.
Whoever thinks that he alone has speech, or possesses speech or mind above others, when unfolded such men are seen to be empty.
