I am pleased to see that information campaigns, such as the America's WETLAND effort, are getting the message out, and people are beginning to realize that wetlands loss in Louisiana affects us all.

Loss of Time
A forgotten time
A forgotten society
A forgotten land
A forgotten people
A time of peace
A time of war
A time of grieving
A time of celebration
A time of loss
A loss of knowledge
A loss of dignity
A loss of loved ones
A loss of sanity
A loss of peace
A beginning of a new time
A beginning of new life
A beginning of new knowledge
A beginning of new peace
A beginning of new war
Its all a cycle
From a new beginning
To loss
To a time of difference
Till it is all forgotten
And a new beginning is forged.

Whatever It May Be that Affects
What,
Ever it may be that affects...
You have it in yourself,
To disconnect it.
Whatever it may be that affects,
You have it in yourself...
To disconnect it.
Whatever it may be that affects.
Whatever it may be that affects.
A loneliness you wish to rid!
Whatever it may be that affects.
Emotions breeding to feed on fears!
Whatever it may be that affects.
Whatever it may be that affects.
Heartbreak that can not escape the aching.
Let it go!
Don't let it upset.
You gave to it now from you erase it!
Whatever it may be that affects,
You have it in yourself...
To disconnect it.
Whatever it may be that affects.
Whatever it may be that affects.
Let it go!
Don't let it upset.
Whatever it may be that affects.
Let it go!
Don't let it upset.
Whatever it may be that affects.
Let it go!
Don't let it upset.
Whatever it may be that affects.
Whatever it may be that affects.

Well, there's a question as to what sort of information is important in the world, what sort of information can achieve reform. And there's a lot of information. So information that organizations are spending economic effort into concealing, that's a really good signal that when the information gets out, there's a hope of it doing some good.

The Affects Of Assumptions
Intiating effective campaigns,
To gain a momentum...
With a purpose to disrupt,
What one assumes to be destructive...
From innuendos and appearances,
Heard of but not seen by others.
Should not be rushed.
To enforce with a doing.
But...
Intiating effective campaigns,
Are still conducted.
And...
May not prove to be beneficial,
Or conducive as instructed.
Since one never knows...
What it is one has to sacrifice,
When the facts of such acts...
Have been revealed to discover,
The affects of assumptions...
Has on one's life never to be,
Emotionally recovered.

America
(Francis Scott Key)
Oh, say, can you see
By the dawn's early light
What so proudly we hailed
At the twilight's last gleaming
Whose broad stripes and bright stars
Through the perilous fight
O'er the ramparts we watched were so
Gallantly streaming?
America, America, America
America, America, America
And the rocket's red glare
The bombs bursting in air
Gave proof through the night
That our flag was still there
Oh, say, does that star
Spangled banner yet wave
Over the land of the free
And the home of the brave!
America, America, America
America, America, America
America, America, America
America, America, America
America, America, America
America, America
ooohhh

Down Louisiana Way
[chorus]
Im goin down louisiana way
Im going back as of this very day
Dont worry about me cause Ill be okay
Im goin down louisiana way
I will miss all my old chicago friends
And think about you san francisco now and then
I will remember my compadres in l.a.
Look me up down louisiana way
[chorus]
Dont let your eyes get misty now
We knew the time would come around for me to go
I will miss you
So long friend, quess Ill see you while ago
I might be back sometime, you just never know
I have left a sweetheart north of whiskey bay
True love waits down louisiana way

Of The New Democracy
It is all falling apart!
'What is? '
America.
'Really?
That's not what I think.'
And what is it that you 'think'?
'I see it beginning to reflect,
Everyone 'collectively'.
Especially those neglected.
Now we all get a taste,
Of the affects of waste...
One race of people have created.
They are falling apart, perhaps!
But the rest of us,
Are certainly coming together...
With the understanding,
That selective greed...
Eventually establishes a need,
We all can come to share! '
I didn't 'think' of it like that.
'Soon...
No one will think of it like that at all.
Since it will be a quality of life,
Be you black or white...
Brown or yellow,
With attitude and uptight!
We all will come to agree,
Feeding greed has to cease.
And that is the development...
Of the new democracy!
An economic togetherness.
In a socialistic unity.'

Calling America
(somebody...)
Told her that there was a place like heaven
Across the water on a 747
Yeah, were living in
In a modern world.
And pretty soon shes really got the notion
Of flying out across the big blue ocean
Yeah, were living in
In a modern world.
Talk is cheap on satellite
But all I get is (static!)
Information, Im still here
Re-dial on automatic.
Chorus:
Calling america (cant get a message through)
Calling america (thats what she said to do)
Calling america (thats where she has to be)
Calling america (she left a number for me)
Calling america.
But Im just talking to a satellite
Twenty thousand miles up in the sky each night
Yeah, were living in
In a modern world.
All I had to do was pick up the phone
Im out in space, trying to talk to someone
Yeah, were living in
In a modern world.
She left a number I could call
But no ones there, no one at all
There must be something going wrong
That number just rings on and on.
Repeat chorus
Said shed call when shed been gone a while
Guess shes missing me across the miles
Yeah, were living in
In a modern world.
Repeat chorus
Calling america, calling america
Calling america, calling america...

Entropy
Well its a force of nature to be recognized
In the various equations of the social kind
We look to our left, Then turn to our right
Always taken back when the heat starts to rise, rise.
No one will tell you
Nobody will tell you
Its a measure of disorder
A matter of time
Were living in an entropy.
Well its random reaction thats divided by rage
A single handed effort in the escalade
The static will clear as the masses evolve
A loss of information as the message fades away, away.
No one will tell you
Nobody will tell you
Its a measure of disorder
A matter of time
Were living in an entropy.
Rise. And no one will tell you
Rise. And nobody will tell you
Its a measure of disorder
A matter of time
Were living in an entropy.

Sat. Sitting. Still.
Sat here,
Right here,
Once in the snow
And thought about
That dismissive message of yours.
Sitting here again.
Thinking again.
Again.
A gain?
No.
A loss.
Still a loss.
Still at a loss
To understand.

Beginning To See The Light
(reed)
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Some people work very hard,
But still they never get it right.
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Now Im beginning to see the light.
Wine in the morning
And some breakfast at night.
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Here we go again
Playing the fool again.
Here we go again
Acting hard again.
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Now Im beginning to see the light.
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Im beginning to see the light.
I wore my teeth in my hands
So I could mess the hair of the night
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Hey Im beginning to see the light.
I met myself in a dream
And I just wanna tell you - everything was alright
Im beginning to see the light.
Here comes two of you,
Which one will you chose?
One is black, one is blue.
Dont look just what to do.
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Now Im beginning to see the light.
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Well Im beginning to see the light.
Some people work very hard
But still they never get it right
Well Im beginning to see the light.
There are problems in these times
But none of them are mine
Baby, Im beginning to see the light.
Here we go again,
I thought that you were my friend.
Here we go again,
I thought that you were my friend.

Louisiana 1927
What has happened down here is the wind have changed
Clouds roll in from the north and it started to rain
Rained real hard and rained for a real long time
Six feet of water in the streets of evangeline
The river rose all day
The river rose all night
Some people got lost in the flood
Some people got away alright
The river have busted through cleard down to plaquemines
Six feet of water in the streets of evangelne
Chorus
Louisiana, louisiana
Theyre tyrin to wash us away
Theyre tryin to wash us away
Louisiana, louisiana
Theyre tryin to wash us away
Theyre tryin to wash us away
President coolidge came down in a railroad train
With a little fat man with a note-pad in his hand
The president say, little fat man isnt it a shame what the river has
Done
To this poor crackers land.

I don't necessarily believe there's a message in the fact that I'm an African-American Republican. I think there is a message that America as a whole, we are now awake. We are looking at a political construct and we're fairly disappointed. I think the message is no matter where you come from in this country, there is great potential.
Leave Them. Leave Them Alone
When people are immuned,
To get a message that is coming...
Leave them.
Leave them alone.
When people stubbornly refuse to hear a message,
Others hear...
Just leave them,
Alone on their own.
Too many have been fitted to be limited!
So leave them.
Leave them alone.
Too many have been gifted with the flapping of lips.
So leave them.
Leave them alone.
When people are immuned,
To get a message that is coming...
Just leave them.
Leave them alone.
When people rather shuck and jive,
To realize their own survival...
Just leave them,
Alone on their own.
Too many wish to sit and make a game of it.
So leave them.
Leave them alone.
Too many rather drift and not take benefit,
So leave them...
Leave them alone.
Fools are taking numbers just to stand and wait.
So leave them.
Leave them alone.
Fools like this await for frosting on their cake.
So leave them,
To taste it alone.
Too many wish to sit and make a game of it.
So leave them.
Leave them alone.
Too many rather drift and not take benefit,
So leave them...
Leave them alone.
When people are immuned,
To get a message that is coming...
Just leave them.
Leave them alone.
When people stubbornly refuse to hear a message,
Others hear...
Just leave them,
Alone on their own.
Just leave them.
Leave them alone!

I Write America (Revision)
I write America
in order to form a perfect union
assuming there is a union at all
and not just some Texas mama's boy
standing off to the side
watching it fall
for the strong
for the weak
and for those who refuse to speak
I hurt on their behalf
and for them
I write America.
I write America
the beautiful
conquered from sea to shining sea
known now only for the names
who 'discovered' it
Christopher Columbus and Amerigo Vespucci
who failed to realize
there were already people here
I always wondered
how you could discover something
that's already been discovered
for credit where credit is due
I write America.
I would continue to write America
but America responds only to threats
so instead I just watch America
I watch slices of the American Pie
devoured left and right
but all across the board
the skin tone in invariably white
I am the property of a nation
built on the countries it has conquered
and a heritage it will never own
until the day the American dream includes me
I just watch America.

What is loss?
I resent
What loss represents
I resent
What great loss presents
So what’s the fuss about loss?
Waiting!
Debating!
Contemplating!
What is loss?
Something you care about
Taken away from you by force
Creating total unforgivable chaos
Thinking!
Blinking!
Seeking!
What is loss
It is a minus instead of a plus
Hence the unmistakable fuss
Death and sickness build up great grief
Loss brings despair instead of relief
And in loss itself I have no belief
I resent
What loss represents
I resent
What great loss presents
Loss! An inequitable cause
Thrown on you without a toss
So you become very cross
Because in your life you realize, you are never the only boss!
