Look, I hate to sound like Pollyanna, but I literally can't wait to get to work in the morning. I've got steady jobs, I've got my health, and I'm here in the greatest city in the world. I'd be a pig not to be grateful.

Polly

Written by: R. D. Davies
Published by: Davray MusicCarlin Music Corp.
Chord file
Polly wouldn't listen to her Mama,
Polly wouldn't listen to her Papa.
She tried to make the swinging city scene,
And now there's not a place that Polly hasn't been.
Polly, pretty pretty Pollyanna,
Pretty pretty Pollyanna,
Pretty Polly Garter
Oh, I think that pretty Polly should have stayed at home.
Pretty Polly, dressed as jolly as can be,
She's so darling, all the fellas do agree,
And half a million people can't be wrong,
Oh, I think that pretty Polly should have stayed at home.
Polly wrote a letter to her Mama,
Polly made confessions to her Papa.
Mummy's proud 'cause Polly's still in chains
She's happy now her baby's coming home again.
Pretty Polly, she learned that life is just a game,
She is sorry, she just had to break the chains.
And Mama knows, 'cause Mama was the same
Oh, she's happy now her baby's coming home again.
Polly, pretty pretty Pollyanna,
Pretty pretty pretty pretty Pollyanna,
Pretty Polly Garter
Oh, Polly, pretty pretty Pollyanna,
Pretty pretty pretty pretty Pollyanna,
Pretty Polly Garter
I think that pretty Polly should have stayed at home.

Hate Goes Undefeated

We all hate
It is impossible no to
All the hate
Hate against the world
Hate against our jobs
Hate against someone hating you
Hate against death
Hate against your brothers and sisters
Hate against your life
Can only be defeated with one thing
Love, but love is gone
Wiped out.

The Morning Sunshine

Wait til the morning sunshine
Wait til the morning sunshine
Feels like another day, I wouldnt know
My loves away, from home today
Wait til the morning sunshine
Wait til the morning sunshine
Its just the memory, of sunshine
In the morning, being close to me
And it was.....
Wait til the morning sunshine
Wait til the morning sunshine
Seems like the world is late, for I cant wait
For sunshine in the morning
Wait til the morning sunshine
Wait til the morning sunshine

The Plight of Working Men

Work, work, laborious work
has taken its toll on men.
Their backs all sweaty,
their hands all chafed
and all their fingernails, ten

Caked with dirt, caked with grime,
unable to keep them clean.
Their arms are weary
at day's end.
Their legs are lank and lean.

Their shoes they leave right at the door,
a reminder of what they do.
Back-breaking jobs
to earn their pay,
jobs that are never through.

And yet they hold back
whines and complaints
and suffer in silent ways.
In the house that is their nest
their voice they will not raise.

Tired bodies and burned out dreams
have stopped the hopes of these men.
They methodically work
their laborious jobs
and wait for their days to end.

The Greatest Days Of All

(Dolly Parton)
A dirt dobber built its nest
On my only Sunday dress
And the roof leaked in my shoes
And when they dried they were too small
And the rats chewed a great big hole
In my only winter coat
And at night I'd hear them gnaw
The paper on my bedroom wall
But I still say
Those were the greatest days of all
Some happy and some sad
Some good and some bad
But I still say
Those were the greatest days of all
I used to wait by the garden gate
Where the hummingbirds came ev'ry day
To kiss the yellow roses
Growing up the garden wall
And in the tall grass I would lie
'Til ev'ning shadows brought the night
Thru the window of my room
I'd hear the whippoorwill's sad call
And I still say
Those were the greatest days of all
Some happy and some sad
Some good and some bad
But I still say
Those were the greatest days of all
Now as I make my way
Along the busy city sidewalks
My head arouring from the deafening city sound
You can't hear a whipporwill in this noisy city
And tall green grass don't grow
Along the sidewalks of this town
And hummingbirds don't fly around
These artificial roses
Like they did around the garden wall
And, oh, so often in my mind
I'll go back to another time
And I still say
Those were the greatest days of all
I still say
Those were the greatest days of all

In The City

He is just a boy in the city
Dressed the same hes uniformly pretty
He knows its the time
He can read the signs
He can really change
In the city
The best dressed boy in town he thinks its funny
Half a dozen jobs makes his money
He is just a boy in the city
Friday night propels walter mitty
Its about time
He can read the signs
A night on the town
In the city
Monday is a work day
Tuesdays much the same
Wednesday comes and goes away
Thursdays back again
Friday night is sunday in the morning
Monday brings the weekends final yawning
Now its about time
He has crossed the line
He is miles away
In the city
(city!)
(city!)
(city!)
(city!)
Now its about time
He can read the signs
He can really change
It is on his mind
He has crossed the line
He has gone once more
From the city

New Orleans is a city whose basic industry is the service industry. That's why it makes its money. That's - it brings people to the city. People come to the city and experience the wonders of this extraordinary city and everything else. The question is that, how do we create jobs which are the jobs that have pay, that - living wages?

Work

Work is what we have to do
to put food on the table
we work for years and years
that is until we are unable.
We are asked at school
what we want to be?
I remember telling the teacher
that I want to play football for Coventry.
There's all types of work to do
like in an office or a building site
if your lucky you can do sport
be a Boxer and get paid to fight.
But most of us don't do that
and often we do jobs that we hate
like working in a horrible factory
starting early and finishing late.
But some workers love their jobs
and rarely ever miss a day
they enjoy being there so much
they'd probably work for no pay.
Work is a big part of life
so best do something you like
earn vast amounts of money
buy a flash car instead of a bike.
So be happy wherever you work
no matter what job that may be
but most of us want to retire early
that's why we keep on doing the lottery!

I hate my life

I hate this second
I hate this minute
I hate this hour
I hate this day
I hate this year
I hate my life
I hate my family
I hate my friends
I hate that i cant do anything right
I hate that i cant die right now
I hate that you wont die right now
I hate this world
I hate that i cant express my feelings
I hate that i cant find the right knife
I hate that im still writing this poem
I am going to say good bye to the world
even if the world dont care
the world did this to me
so the world can live without me

Hatrate

I hate you for doing this to me
I hate you for hurting me
I hate you
but I don't want to
I hate myself
I don't know why
I hate this world I'm in it so cruel
I hate the person I am or was
I hate the things I have done
I hate my past
I hate the fact that I did good
I hate you for not believing in me
I hate you for judging me
I hate myself for not believing in myself
For putting myself down for underestimating my power
I hate the fact that I'm gifted
I hate being good sometimes
Cause I feel like I'm wasting my time
But wait!
Why must I hate?
I don't want to hate
I want to forgive and forget
It takes a 24-7 employee to hate
And I can't do that
It's just a burden not worthy of carrying

Renda Writer - Cubicle Cages

Work to live or live to work

For better or for worse
Most of us put work first

But what hurts worse
Is the world was built by blue shirts
But white shirts get respect first

It should be vice verse in the network
What's your net worth?

Evenly disperse
The paychecks and the perks

Who ever gets first
Is whoever knows how the network

And the experts
Do less work
While the rest work
Til' their heads hurt

Excessive stress and work
Is situation red alert

We're working for oppressive jerks
'Til our backs and our necks hurt

Interview is the first date
First impression

Flirt

Fired from a line of work
Surrounded by spineless lying jerks
Frowns surrounded by smirks

But now I'm outta work

Working hard or hardly working
This is hard
Cause not working hardly works
And it's hurting

Looking for a job in a city where jobs hide
All time jobless high
National debt is colossal sized
A need to eat and stay alive
Collides with human pride

War is prophesized
Even the prophets lie
And still jobs hide
Behind curtains of diversions
I'm nervous
Working on the side

Haven't found a job so far
Only found the sound of jinglin' change
Inside of an empty pocket

Listen close for the hot stock tip
Just to get to the top quick
And that's it

Now get back in your cage

Grateful (inspired by Julianne)

You're the greatest Muse of all
I didn't have to look too far
You're the Inspirer of it all
You did breathe Life

You're the Spirit behind it all
You did Create it all
Including me
A vessel
Who needed confirmation
Who's now a true vessel
Engaged in conversation

You're the greatest Muse of all
And I give thanks
For giving me the inspiration to create
You are the greatest Muse of all
It is to You I'm grateful for
I owe it all to You all that I do
I'm an empty vessel through and through
I'm so so grateful to You

Julianne Tarroja is a young singer-songwriter from the Philippines. Her debut album “Grateful” is a work of true inspiration. If you haven’t listened to it, please do so. The single is a sure winner—deeply personal yet universal, spiritual but not preachy, poignant yet very contemporary and yes, it is catchy! Another favorite of mine is the less commercially-appealing but equally beautiful “Let It Rain” which is simply simply exquisite-poetry made into song.

I Hate My Frickin Isp

The reason that I signed up
Is the reason that I hate it
I know shes made her mind up
I just dont know how shes made it
And my dial-up screen has locked me
Into a touch tone tune monotony
Because some snot-nosed pube has blocked me out
And I wait
And I wait
And I hate my frickin isp
He aint got go bandwidth left for me
And Ill never get back
Never get back the time that I waste
Thats what I hate
My jobs so hard to swallow
But its got me by the collar
In some motel 6 squalor
Where every local calls a dollar
I got no time left to jack off
I got a deadline that wont back off
Im about to chew my own leg off
Cause its so late
And Im late
And I hate my frickin isp
I get bumped for inactivity
And Ill never get back
Never get back the time that I waste
Thats what I hate
It rained cd roms that gave me
Twenty hours free
I let my service provider
Make a junky outta me
And then he cut me off
From my online community
And now I hate, I hate it
I hate I hate I hate I hate
I hate my frickin isp
His domain name lookup takes eternity
Etc...

Airplane

Over the city in an airplane
I can see everything below
The houses they look so tiny
The cars look like dots
Weve only got fifteen minutes to go
The clouds in the sky caress my mind so tenderly
The sun shines down on the great big beautiful scene
The sound of the engine fills my ears up
Im hopin this rainy weather clears up
My lover is waiting at the airport
Soon shell be kissing me hello
The woman sitting next to me tells me bout her guy
And I tell her all about you and i
Airplane, airplane
Carry me back to her side
Airplane, airplane
I need God as my guide
Down, down on the ground
Cant wait to see her face
(a-1, a-2, a-1, 2, 3)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
To see (her face)
I cant wait (cant wait)
