I worked on scores. I went to the musical library in Berlin which is very famous. I discovered that we had scores of Beethoven, printed scores of Beethoven, that are full of mistakes. Not the wrong or false notes, but the wrong dynamic, understandable things.

Bernard Herrmann used to write all his scores by himself. So did Bach, Beethoven and Stravinsky. I don't understand why this happens in the movie industry.

You must realize that honorary degrees are given generally to people whose SAT scores were too low to get them into schools the regular way. As a matter of fact, it was my SAT scores that led me into my present vocation in life, comedy.

The Plight of The Modern Education or Why Johnny Can't Read
The plight of modern education,
Is much more complicated than some imagined.
You see at first,
Many people thought money was the problem,
So they robbed some from the rich to
Give to the poor,
Now they wonder what happened to their
Test scores.
With all of this social engineering,
What did they accomplish?
All they did was bring down scores,
Bring down the morale,
And bring down the level of education,
Of our great nation.
Does this make sense,
Is this wrong,
What has happened to our education?

Soccer Match
there goes soccer fans in deep sunray
we never care for deep sunlight
we are here to see champions beat
there goes start
fans cheer which is part
suddenly there team is goal down
but that is not making them frown
as they are confident our team will take crown
defender comes in pickle
as he does wrong tackle
that is pick
striker scores from freekick
with few minutes to go
fans say make strategy to get victory
and in last minute striker scores from long range
expert say do you get it is big upset
coach thanks fans for support
you are integral part of support

Packed With Ammo
Packed with ammo.
The kind to settle scores,
Discreetly.
When one has been annoyed,
To a brim that overflows...
It is best to keep,
A repayment unexpected.
Just to ensure,
The unbelieving receiver knows...
Actions of deception exposed and known,
Have been delivered at the wrong doorstep.
And will not be accepted,
For a continuation of visits.
To nip this in the bud,
Has a way of showing quivering lips...
A one on one presentation,
Means a resolving of serious business meant.
Packed with ammo.
The kind to settle scores,
Discreetly.
With a face to face acknowledgement,
As to what and will must come to an end.
'I understand there was something done I did,
You disliked.
And I've come to hear what it was I did to do,
From you.
I'm not into hearsay or hand-me-down gossip.
There is something about direct comprehension,
I like to get understood.
You have a moment?
And let's keep this between us.
Okay?
Who knows...
We may even come to agree.
Nothing more would please me.'

Roll Over Beethoven
Im gonna write a little letter,
Gonna mail it to my local dj.
Its a rockin rhythm record
I want my jockey to play.
Roll over beethoven, I gotta hear it again today.
You know, my temperatures risin
And the jukebox blows a fuse.
My hearts beatin rhythm
And my soul keeps on singin the blues.
Roll over beethoven and tell tschaikowsky the news.

Sittin down by the rhythm review.
Roll over beethoven rockin in two by two.

The Magic Mirror
God have the Ten Commandments
Moses passed them all
A look at Jesus' blessings
The sun belonged to Ra
Nero played with fire
Caesar was a laugh
The beauty Cleopatra
Ramses had it all
Drunk a skull with Odin
And rode with Ghingis Khan
Saw Attila, the great one
The Alps with Hannibal
Merlin and King Asrthur
A feast with Robin Hood
Friends with Leonardo
Columbus and the plot
With empires arising
And holy nations fall
The magic mirror shows you
Kings and Queens and all
Just take a look in the magic mirror
Don't turn around at what you see
Just take a look in the magic mirror
You're gonna see what you may be
Luther nailed our destiny
Beethoven wrote the scores
Napoleon and his triumph
Rasputin and the Tsar
Imagine our history
Without those famous names
It makes the world remember
That life is not in vain

Another Reason Why I Don't Keep A Gun In The House
The neighbors' dog will not stop barking.
He is barking the same high, rhythmic bark
that he barks every time they leave the house.
They must switch him on on their way out.
The neighbors' dog will not stop barking.
I close all the windows in the house
and put on a Beethoven symphony full blast
but I can still hear him muffled under the music,
barking, barking, barking,
and now I can see him sitting in the orchestra,
his head raised confidently as if Beethoven
had included a part for barking dog.
When the record finally ends he is still barking,
sitting there in the oboe section barking,
his eyes fixed on the conductor who is
entreating him with his baton
while the other musicians listen in respectful
silence to the famous barking dog solo,
that endless coda that first established
Beethoven as an innovative genius.

Killer Without A Cause
He made a big impression
When he walked across the room
And I must make my confession
I might have spoked too soon
Hes a killer
Without a cause
The time is right
To settle scores
On the streets he lives again
Down the alley and round the bend
On the beat beneath the light
An angel comes to claim the light
From the streets
This rebel shall rise
His soul shall soar
Through the skies
The same old confrontation
At the bar in the saloon
But its just another tricky situation
The underworld operation lies in ruins
Hes a killer
Without a cause
The time is right
To settle scores

Seeing a Clearer Me
layer by layer
i peel so that
like a glass
you can view me
crystal clear as a virgin river
a polished diamond
decades of
practice for those
seasoned fingers
to strike at her core
to bring out those few
beethoven scores
he tuned up the world for
a great watch maker
filing his cog to tighten time
the precision of mind
to keep a universal lie at bay
verse by verse
layer by layer
i peel to get to
the sheen the almighty
laid hidden in me
layer by layer
i peel off the world
to see a clearer me

Not Communicating To Oneself
Listening to Beethoven we sense
the inspiration pouring from the master.
Johann Sebastian Bach sounds as intense,
but far more distant from disaster.
He seems to want to have a conversation
with anyone prepared to pay attention.
Although we lose him when his great elation
exceeds the limits of our comprehension,
we know that he is trying to communicate,
as if he’d just found, lying on a shelf,
the notes he’s trying to communicate
to us, and not, like Ludwig, to himself.
The proofs of Beethoven’s profundity
lay in the notes that for him had no sound,
while Bach, with effortless fecundity,
encouraged all of us to be profound.
J. M. Coetzee contrasts his relationship to the music of Beethoven and J. S. Bach. Whereas he imagines Beethoven as a genius from whom inspiration pours forth while oblivious to the people who may be listening to him he imagines J. S. Bach as a teacher who is attempting to instruct him while he sits next him while he is playing. As a rider, Coetzee added that there are moments when J. S. Bach’s inspiration exceeds the listener’s comprehension. These are the moments of his greatest inspiration. Listening to this report I was reminded of Richard Eder’s comment on Ceotzee when reviewing his book “Diary of a Bad Year” (“A Writer, A Muse, Their Laundry, ” NYT, January 1,2008) :
I think of the childlike simplicity of late Beethoven on a profound return trip from profundity.”

I believe so, but at first he must know. He must know in which spirit Beethoven has composed this piece. He must try to study that. And he must find out in which station of life of Beethoven he did.

Journey through the furnace.
Many were called
But few were chosen
Into the call of academic glory
The journey many started
Ended with but a few.
7 scores and a decade*
Started the journey towards greatness
On the same path and terrace.
Some took another route
Some fell out fortuitously
4 scores and a half decade*
Got to the end of the road.
We who ended are no better
Than we who started the journey
In this great academia
With moral prison yards
And religious bigotry.
Those who have fallen out
Or, rather
Taken another route
Shall forever remain in our heart
As we end this journey
And close this phase of our life
Taking a bold step
Into the universal city
Of the world beyond…
