Larry Hagman

But there is no withdrawal, but with tobacco there is terrible withdrawal, it is almost impossible for a lot of people. I did , I went cold turkey, they never had any patches in those days but grass was not difficult, alcohol not difficult, but tobacco - oh my god.

Ned’s Delicate Way

Ned knew I was short of tobacco one day,
And that I was too proud to ask for it;
He hated such pride, but his delicate way
Forbade him to take me to task for it.

I loathed to be cadging tobacco from Ned,
But, when I was just on the brink of it;
‘I’ve got a new brand of tobacco”, he said –
“Try a smoke, and let’s know what you think of it.”

Patches Of

patches of sunlight,
patches of clouds.
patches of Jesus,
patches of doubt.

patches of joy,
patches of pain.
patches of hope,
patches of strain.

patches of tomorrow,
patches of today.
patches of forever,
patches of 'cant stay'!

patches of loving,
patches of cold.
patches of youth,
patches of old.

patches of bravery.
patches of fear.
patches of happiness,
patches of tears.

patches of life,
patches of death.
patches of trying
with your last breath!

An Inky Octopus Gripping Evil

evil never sleeps
evil owns the night
evil owns the day

evil walks day proud
owning many properties
wall street stock options

evil owns the night
owns secrets in the night
owns secrets sold by night
in many purchased places

evil has its patch
evil has many patches
an evil patch for every trade
evil buries innocence with a spade

an evil patch may be but
a few fought over city blocks
syndicated global patches
are octopus evil tentacles

some evil patches
are bigger spread
than many countries
evil marries drugs

makes mega money
addicts inject honey
drug withdrawal cold turkey
evil error terminates abruptly

Agony

And in spoonful oil
Kitchen is busy frying
Mustard and lentils two tablespoons each
And chillies hundred grams
And a pack of cigar or raw tobacco
In added two tablespoons of oil
Then to grind with lemon size tamarind, salt
To make tobacco chutney

And the water soaked tobacco
Kitchen is busy grinding
With salt and cashews handful
To make balls, be deep fried in oil
Be added to a masala tomato puree
To make tobacco kofta curry

And to the cooked rice
Kitchen is busy seasoning
With fried clove, cardamom, and cinnamon
Onion and ginger-garlic paste, salt
Sauted well with flavoured tobacco
Then to garnish with cut cigar pieces
To make tobacco biryani

Tobacco chutney, tobacco curry
Tobacco biryani..what next..
Forgotten Kitchen hurrying
To make more koftas
Be put in sugar syrup
To make tobacco jamuns

Then you see, exhausted Kitchen
Under the wildly running fan rests
Wildly coughing out
Her heart despite its rapidness
Awaiting patiently her lover
Who's been chained to her delicious cooking

Losing the war of tobacco..
I'm losing the war that has consumed my life.

Tobacco is in the life I live in

Tobacco

The Indian weed, withered quite,
Green at noon, cut down at night,
Shows thy decay; all flesh is hay,
Thus thinke, then drinke tobacco.

The pipe that is so lily-white,
Shows thee to be a mortal wight;
And even such, gone with a touch,
Thus thinke, then drinke tobacco.

And when the smoke ascends on high,
Thinke thou beholdest the vanity
Of worldly stuffe, gone with a puffe,
Thus thinke, then drinke tobacco.

And when the pipe grows foul within,
Think on thy soule defil'd with sin,
And then the fire it doth require.
Thus thinke, then drinke tobacco.

The ashes that are left behind,
May serve to put thee still in mind,
That unto dust return thou must.
Thus thinke, then drinke tobacco.

What's so difficult...

What's so difficult,
About the word,
No.

What's so difficult,
About our,
Relationship.

What's so difficult,
About,
Us.

What's so difficult,
About the words,
Stay away.

What's so difficult,
About,
Don't talk to me.

What's so difficult...

Stoned Christmas Junky

Stoned Christmas Junky…..,
Can’t get enough….,
I’m hooked on the season…..,
And it really makes it tough…..,
Cause all year long…..,
I pray for this wonderful time…..,
To hear the caroler’s voices…..,
In my Christmas Junky mind…..,
Stoned Christmas Junky…..,
Can’t wait to have more turkey…..,
Like last Thanksgiving…..,
When I went cold turkey…..,
But it didn’t work for me …..,
Cause can’t all of you see…..,
I’m a Christmas Junky…..,
And until that day arrives……,
You’ll see withdrawal…..,
Deep within my eyes…..,
Cause I’m a Christmas Junky…..,
A Stoned Christmas Junky….! ! !

Life Is Difficult

Life is difficult-
Surprises are not always what we hoped they would be-

People misunderstand us-
We imagine we are kind
And they understand us differently-

Some problems never get solved
Some remain lingering for years-

There are cruel people in the world
Stupid ones also-

The fair do not always get the prize
The pushers push push push the good guys aside-
We see the Evil grinning and we cannot touch them-

All kinds of Hopes we have are disappointed-
Rejection is the Fate of everyone at one time or another

One has to try and try and try
And often that is not enough-

Life is difficult
And after a certain age is more difficult
And when young is also difficult-

Life is difficult in some time or some way for all of us
It just is-

Life is difficult
And even when it seems not to be
There is another time coming-

Life is difficult
And so long as we live
It will be.

Determined He Is to Lift Them

He has been selected.
He is the choice,
To remove the use
Of special effects...
From their deluded lives.

And the task will be great...
Since the clean up will be monumental.
He is up for the challenge.
Generations addicted,
Are preparing for their withdrawal from illusion.

It will be a sacrifice,
Unlike any they have known!
He has been selected...
To jolt them into reality!
They had never traveled there before he came.

And all are not aware,
This change he claims he comes to share...
Will not be painless.
It wont be!
Withdrawal from a drug...
Is a most unpleasant, excruciating experience.

How this will be endured...
Depends on his charisma.
And which antidote he has created to infuse,
To rid those who still beg for one more taste...
Of an accustomed assortment of fantasies!
At whims they were quick to intake.

They do not realize it!
He is going to be strict,
And determined he is to lift them...
From the bowels of anger and deception.
Deployed by racists tactics.

And those addictions are difficult to shed.
But the recovery has promise.
Those longing to remain conscious,
Are hopeful for the times ahead.
Understanding his words and everything he says.

And this as he envisions it...
Has never happened quite like this before!
This is a different door,
No one had the guts to open!
To bring a mindset to embrace a new shore.

The Leaf

The Leaf.

On my walks I picked up a perfectly formed elm leaf,
the colour of dry tobacco. In Norway, during the Nazi
occupation, people had tobacco plants in back yards.
Perhaps carrots and cabbage had been healthier.
Put the leaf on top of a white wall and took a picture.
The wind came and blew it away. I brief meeting of
equals and a memory

Easy and Difficult

Easy and Difficult

Easy to get a place in someone’s address book
Difficult is to get a place in someone’s heart
Easy is to judge the mistakes of others
Difficult is to recognize our own mistakes
Easy is to talk without thinking
Difficult is to control the tongue
Easy is to hurt someone who loves us
Difficult is to heal the wound
Easy is to forgive others
Difficult is to ask for forgiveness
Easy is to set rules
Difficult is to follow them
Easy is to dream every night
Difficult is to fight for a dream
Easy is to show victory
Difficult is to accommodate defeat with dignity
Easy is to admire a full moon
Difficult is to see the other side
Easy is to stumble on a stone
Difficult is to get up
Easy is to enjoy life every day
Difficult is to give its real value
Easy is to pray every night
Difficult is to find God in small things
Easy is to promise something to someone
Difficult is to fulfill the promise
Easy is to say we love
Difficult is to show it every day
Easy is to criticize others
Difficult is to improve oneself
Easy is to make mistakes
Difficult is to learn from them
Easy is to weep for lost love
Difficult is to take care of it so as not to lose it
Easy is to think about improving
Difficult is to stop thinking and putting it into action
Easy is to think bad of others
Difficult is to give them the benefit of doubt
Easy is to receive
Difficult is to give
