This possibility bothered me as I thought it was not advisable to remain in one academic environment, and the long dark winters in Edinburgh could be rather dismal.

He's Bothered Again!

Where are they?
Do they have him?
Will they know?
And troubled is he
Disturbed is he
Am I troubled?
How much bothered can his soul get?
Bothered about his own life
Bothered about bothering about his life
Bothered about wealth
Bothered about bothering about wealth
And weaker and weaker he is as the day go by
And worse still shall be his story
Because he is bothered about nature
And things in it
But he is never bothered about aiding nature
Or the things in it
Such person,
I am bothered about
Because he bothers to effect no change
And bothers that he hasn't effected a change
And why he did not effect any change
But not how he could effect such change
He also bothers about those who aren't bothered
He bothers for them
His stupidity is the source of their livelihood
He bothers why they do not bother
He bothers about those who effect changes
He bothers how long it took for such change
He bothers the risk taken
He never bothers how they do it
But he bothers if they were a bandit
And everyday, he keeps bothering
And knows not that he bothers his life
And his health
And his sanity
But those who bother aren't stupid
Except if they bother like he does

Old Man's Nursery Rhyme

I.

In the jolly winters
Of the long-ago,
It was not so cold as now--
O! No! No!
Then, as I remember,
Snowballs, to eat,
Were as good as apples now,
And every bit as sweet!

II.

In the jolly winters
Of the dead-and-gone,
Bub was warm as summer,
With his red mitts on,--
Just in his little waist-
And-pants all together,
Who ever heard him growl
About cold weather?

III.

In the jolly winters of the long-ago--
Was it _half_ so cold as now?
O! No! No!
Who caught his death o' cold,
Making prints of men
Flat-backed in snow that now's
Twice as cold again?

IV.

In the jolly winters
Of the dead-and-gone,
Startin' out rabbit-hunting
Early as the dawn,--
Who ever froze his fingers,
Ears, heels, or toes,--
Or'd a cared if he had?
Nobody knows!

V.

Nights by the kitchen-stove,
Shelling white and red
Corn in the skillet, and
Sleepin' four abed!
Ah! the jolly winters
Of the long-ago!
We were not so old as now--
O! No! No!

The Essence of Edinburgh

Evening time, in my town, is often deadly quiet,
But, up here in Edinburgh, there's a sensual riot!
From a night club doorway, purple-pink light spills out;
Along the streets, crowds of tourists still amble about.

There is an endless stream of cars and buses;
In my town, the pace is slow, but here, it rushes.
In the city, there are exciting sights and sounds;
It is so much livelier than my own little town.

In my town, after five, most people have gone home,
But, around the streets of Edinburgh, folk still roam.
Emergency vehicles rush past with klaxons blazing;
The atmosphere here, in the city, is just so amazing.

In my town, it is often almost dead after five,
But the city of Edinburgh is still very much alive.
Of action, in my own town, there's a really big lack;
I don't want to leave here: I don't want to go back.

Edinburgh, at Festival time, is always such a blast;
Against my own town, it paints a very sharp contrast.
Street entertainers attract crowds along the Royal Mile;
Attracting many tourists, they're sure to raise a smile.

At the Military Tattoo, I saw many massed bands;
I saw performers who hailed from foreign lands.
For me, that really was such a memorable night;
It filled all my senses with such excited delight.

I really wish that I could stay here forever and ever;
Inside, my soul feels light, and it floats like a feather.
I don't want to go back home: I don't want to leave.
For this amazing city, my heart will soon grieve.

Here, in Edinburgh, I have had such a great time;
For this wonderful city, I know my heart will pine.
Come tomorrow morning, when I board my train,
The essence of Edinburgh, in my heart, will remain.

Buying peace

Buying peace at the cost of peace
Is dangerous and not advisable.
Exercising restraint is necessary
While steping a giant leap.
With missile no body make history
Illusion to state fantastic mission.
Let the sky remain as it is
Let the sea remain as it is.

Winters smile

Winters smile
~
I saw a winters sun
the day fell too short
time escaped me
still I held a thought
I kept love close by
nurtured in my heart
while the world wilted
I felt a flower grow
like a fist of defiance
a beauty unfolds
not bound to a season
the air was cold
still filled my lungs
my breath rolled out
a vapour cloud
rose to a higher climb
I watched is disappear
thought for a while
a day passed me by
I carried with me
a winters smile

Victim Of love

With the chilly winter winds blowing,
I have become the victim of love again.
Now I know that no two winters are the same,
and the tides of time I can’t tame.

With the ruthless cold winter coming,
I can feel the warmth of your love waning.
Now I know that no two winters are the same,
and to the tides of time I can’t blame.

With the dark winter nights falling,
I still walk beneath those street lights.
Now I know that no two winters are the same,
and the tides of time I can’t name.

With the silent winter days brightening,
I still listen to our rhyme.
Now I know that no two winters are the same,
and the tides of time I can’t claim.

With the infant winter dawn breaking,
I always hope against the hope.
Now I know that no two winters are the same,
and the tides of time I can’t make it the same.

Help In Age

How does poetry help in old age?
How can something new and innovative be inscribed on page?
Does the mind evolve such idea to cope with new generation?
I thought answer was in yes and had very much relevant indication

There were many ups and down in the life
No peace in mind with lots of worries and full of strife
It has dragged you for entire length and brought to near end
You are free now to find a new set up with old friends

How to keep mind young from on going struggle?
You had long innings even it was termed as bubble
Now there is time to look back and assess the past conduct
How to bring them in for future use and effectively induct

It is not easy to dream about young girl and think of sweet moments
Surely people may laugh at you and even offer critical comments
Little suspicious movement may adversely affect your reputation
It is rather advisable now to work towards some contribution

I buy no such arguments and offer self for lovely and romantic nature
It doesn’t involve going round for lust but find out for nice future
All natural objects are there since centuries and invite your attention
You had so far neglected it and had not taken note for any mention

How to turn then growing age into charming young age?
To feel young or inject valuable ideas on golden pages
Remain with young environment and feel energetic
Of course yes, it is remedy for not to remain static

Even water may stagnate and spread the smell
The disease may spread and nothing goes well
It is better to keep moving with changing world
Not to remain with bye gone and try for new fold

I did it with quite ease and now enjoy
There is no more tension and spend the time with joy
I have learnt a new lesson and share it with readers
They are my strength and useful means to scale the ladder

I may not come up with their expectations
Yet can lead to the solving of some of the questions
It may provide clue to the burning desire
This is all more important from turning life into satire

Were Going To Live For A Very Long Time

I dont care about life
Or the world around me
Ive got a place to go
I dont care what you say
Words cannot harm me
Youre going down below
Come and join the fun on the way to heaven
Come and talk to God on the party line
If you cant be bothered, we dont need you
Were going to live for a very long time
I dont care for your views
Or your style of living
Youre going to fail the test
You can argue all night
I have no misgivings
And I never get depressed
Come and join the fun on the way to heaven
Come and talk to God on the party line
If you cant be bothered, we dont need you
Were going to live for a very long time
You may think that its strange
This is all I live for
But you cant understand
If you listen to me
Ill explain it carefully
You must know I am right
Come and join the fun on the way to heaven
Come and talk to God on the party line
If you cant be bothered, we dont need you
Were going to live for a very long time
Hell give you one more chance
Nows the time to take it
Hes waiting for your call
Youll be up there with me
Well be grinning in heaven
When the day of judgment comes
Come and join the fun on the way to heaven
Come and talk to God on the party line
If you cant be bothered, we dont need you
Were going to live for a very long time

Bewitched, Bothered And Bewildered

After one whole quart of brandy
Like a daisy, I'm awake
With no Bromo-Seltzer handy
I don't even shake
Men are not a new sensation
I've done pretty well I think
But this half-pint imitation
Put me on the blink
I'm wild again, beguiled again
A simpering, whimpering child again
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I
Couldn't sleep and wouldn't sleep
When love came and told me, I shouldn't sleep
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I
Lost my heart, but what of it
He is cold I agree
He can laugh, but I love it
Although the laugh's on me
I'll sing to him, each spring to him
And long, for the day when I'll cling to him
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I
He's a fool and don't I know it
But a fool can have his charms
I'm in love and don't I show it
Like a babe in arms
Love's the same old sad sensation
Lately I've not slept a wink
Since this half-pint imitation
Put me on the blink
I've sinned a lot, I'm mean a lot
But I'm like sweet seventeen a lot
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I
I'll sing to him, each spring to him
And worship the trousers that cling to him
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I
When he talks, he is seeking
Words to get off his chest
Horizontally speaking, he's at his very best
Vexed again, perplexed again
Thank God, I can be oversexed again
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - am I
Wise at last, my eyes at last,
Are cutting you down to your size at last
Bewitched, bothered and bewildered - no more
Burned a lot, but learned a lot
And now

The Gorbals

A lad from the Gorbals
Years ago from these streets I did grow
Rough and tumble every day
Life was hard in every way

Winters dark cold and long
But from these streets I belong
Sandstone building dark with suit
Gas light lit the neighbourhood

Glasgow’s dark and dingy streets
Football played and hide and seek
Lassies dancing curly hair
We had great fun and not a care

This was all so long ago
And places change as we all know
Sand blasted building nice and clean
This is not the place of my childhood dreams
