I definitely think we should not serve alcoholic beverages at the lunch break.

No one will deny that the excessive use of alcohol and alcoholic beverages would do more than any other single factor to make impossible a total war effort.

Politically Correct
Throw the bums out!
And restock the bars,
With non-alcoholic beverages.
That's the politically correct thing to do,
To eliminate the stench of booze...
From the halls of justice!
And perhaps the screwing will end too!

Nor do we begin to have a clear appreciation of what the increase in consumption of alcoholic beverages in wartime means in increased risk, and in loss of efficiency to the fighting and working forces of the country.

The greatly increased consumption of alcoholic beverages is very largely a direct result of the increased purchasing power created by wartime expenditures.

The 21st Amendment gives the states the right to decide what the drinking ages should be and other aspects relative to alcoholic beverages, and I support that. As a United States senator, I want to weigh in - this is not my agenda.

While Addressing An Acceptable Etiquette
Those who consciously take steps,
To affect the progress of others...
With a hopeful diminishing of an influence,
Do not openly express regret.
Or the nights they spend tossing,
In a sleeplessness...
Haunted by the evil visions,
Of their own incompetence exquisitely dressed....
For effective impressions.
But then...
When invitations to attend social events come in,
They arrive fashionably late...
Hoping to share their pretensions,
With others of the same mindset...
Who too embellish behind fixed smiles,
Attached to masks...
Scented with alcoholic beverages on their breaths,
While addressing an acceptable etiquette.

A Priori
love, bliss,
happiness, joys, and
sweet moments,
priced cheap
among the other
good on demand in the
market of emotions:
guilt, pain, regrets,
remorse, grief, lament,
depressing feelings,
suicidal thoughts,
isolation, doubt,
loneliness
more poems
are written on those
expensive
alcoholic, nauseating,
inebriating, outbalancing
beverages...
let us drink to pain
and let us have a sumptuous
dinner of loneliness
we are these poets
of doom and they all love us
let the madness in the darkness
begin.
i am naked and i am
dancing.

I had to accept that I was an alcoholic, that was the main thing. I think you've got to. But I try not say that I'm an alcoholic. I prefer to say that it's a disease I've got.

Taken Girl
Sitting in the back of the class,
The school day gose by like a flash,
But only when I sit with you,
We laugh in gym,
And howl at lunch,
You put your head on my sholder,
And the acts like that hurt more then any fist,
More then any cut,
I lie when you ask how I feel,
Because I wont admit to my self that what I feel is real,
You laugh in gym,
And you howl at lunch,
I hurt in gym,
I break at lunch,
And all do to your head on my sholder,
Hurts like a punch,
Fells like a cut

Pop Juice
You went there until you crash here
Then woken up to wonder where the night went
Keep breathing it'll come back again
Tonight will be different
We will all be saved
My name's Jimmy, I'm an alcoholic
And I have been for 33 years or more
So kill me, I will die without it
It's like this wherever I go
So we crashed down in BB's
Keep quiet because the question is elaborate
You need a lawyer, a doctor, a drink
To keep surviving
Keep me firing
My name's Jimmy, I'm an alcoholic
And I have been for 33 years or more
So kill me, I will die without it
It's like this wherever I go
I don't feel like going out
I don't feel like going out
Feel like going out
I don't feel like going out
I don't feel like going out
Feel like going out
Feel like going out
My name's Jimmy, I'm an alcoholic
And I have been for 33 years or more
So kill me, I will die without it
It's like this wherever I go
My name's Jimmy, I'm an alcoholic
And I have been for 33 years or more
So kill me, I will die without it
It's like this wherever I go
Do you feel like going out?
Do you feel like going out?
Do you feel like going out?
Do you feel like going out?
Do you feel like going out?
Do you feel like going out?
Do you feel like going out?

Explode
Vera's face burnt as a memory of bedroom fun
With a lighter and some hairspray
Smoking in the girls' room
Not worse than Shelley's rape behind the McDonald's
By a man she thought was fine, didn't tell anybody
Or maybe back then we just thought that she was getting some
Now we look back and see that she didn't know how
We never thought that we'd get caught up
Stuck in the teenage waste
As we explode
As we explode
As we explode
As we explode
Then getting drunk in the bushes by the road outside the Kmart
Rolling around in them to see if you would get prickled
Slip the acid on your tongue rooftop mall parkade
We couldn't get enough
Then count the stars and the ten million woes
Just you and the universe judging each other
We never knew that we'd get caught up
Stuck in the teenage waste
As we explode
As we explode
As we explode
As we let go
It's a fight, it's a fight and you finally belong
Got a shiner now and it's more than a battle scar
More than a battle scar, such a good, good story to tell
At lunch break, lunch break, lunch break, lunch break
Such a good, good story to tell
You bully, you break, you bully, you break
You fake, you fake, you fake, you fake
You smoke, you toke, you want, you flaunt, you hit it and you're in it and it's spinning
And it's wild
We never thought that we'd get caught up
Stuck in the teenage waste
As we explode
As we explode
As we explode
As we let go
We're counting the stars
We're counting the stars
We're gonna go far, we're gonna go far
We're counting the stars, we're counting the stars
We're not very far, we're not very far
And it's you and me in the open air
It's truth or dare, we don't care
We're counting the stars, we're counting the stars, we're counting the stars, we're counting the stars

Girls Just Want To Have Lunch
[parody of girls just want to have fun by cyndi lauper]
I know to keep a woman satisfied.
When I whip out my diners card their eyes get so wide.
Theyre always in the mood for something to munch.
Ah girls, they wanna have lunch.
Ah, girls just wanna have...
Thats all they really want,
Some lunch.
Dont ask em to dinner
Or breakfast or brunch,
cause girls, they wanna have lunch.
Ah, girls just wanna have lunch.
Girls they want, wanna have lunch, girls, wanna have...

A Summer Later
All this time
I still feel weak
at the sight of her face
It all went wrong
The line fades to dots
and our hearts replaced
after a season of sharp tongues
former lovers turned opponents
morning routines interrupted
with daydreams of precious moments
Masking these emotions
behind painkillers
and silly Facebook statuses
dodging the memories
with F bombs
and psychological practices
a whole summer
drowned in alcoholic beverages
to drown out the sweet words
uttered from your lips
Yet I still hum
I still hum those tunes
played by the beat of my heart
and the swing of your hip
Dancing in your basement
snuggling under blankets
the cold atmosphere
defrosted by love
and now
alone
bitter
broken
confused
yet I still long for you

San Francisco - 1981
My ignorance glittered like gold to whose eyes
Were larger than their mouth could speak;
Gesture of unspoken words melted me like ice,
The bar was such my place to be the freak.
Site of no expectation, liaison of men to men,
But how could they believe me then;
At the entrance, where I knew not, I walked in
With a man who happened to be a cousin.
Pride dissolved my color which I could not change,
But my nativity has pleaded for my innocence,
This language that didn’t come with my existence
Taught me no words to reason for my defense;
Of such question, I didn’t understand such a word,
That embarrassed me for my name is not Gay,
Strange as I sounded, I came here without a clue,
And who was I to disrespect to each own virtue.
I, therefore, challenged the night for what it offered,
Alcoholic beverages I learned to consume;
They said I disobeyed the teachings of our Dear Lord,
If these were sins, I am only human not a saint!

Miss Piggy regrets..
Miss Piggy regrets she’s unable to lunch today, madam..
Miss Piggy regrets she’s unable to lunch today:
That tastelessly named flu’s got her
(She forgot to wash her front trotter…) so
Miss Piggy regrets she’s unable to lunch today..
Miss Piggy regrets she’s unable to lunch today, madam..
Miss Piggy regrets she’s unable to lunch today:
It’s a swine of a stroke of bad luck:
Her eyelashes, she sneezed them unstuck… so
Miss Piggy regrets she’s unable to lunch today…
Miss Piggy regrets she’s unable to lunch today, madam..
Miss Piggy regrets she’s unable to lunch today:
She’s all pink from her snout to her face;
Her mascara’s all over the place… so
Miss Piggy regrets she’s unable to lunch today..
Why not try the lamb today, madam…?

The Spicy Pickle
I wanna tell you about a place
That’s very special to me
It’s called The Spicy Pickle
They serve food so deliciously
There’s salads, soups & sandwiches
With flavors of such delight
You can go there for lunch
Or dinner t’wards the night
They have little crusty pizzas
With what fixins’ you desire
Oh yes, they serve the food
That folks never ever tire
But the very best to me is
The ‘build your own’ meal
So many things to choose from
What a delightful deal
I hope you too will enjoy one day
Or even in the night
The wonderful Spicy Pickle
Where the food is made just right!

Coffee Dream
Although it’s only one hour till lunch -
my stomach won’t wait.
Non-stop growling for the past two hours
has gotten the best of me.
Besides, my taste buds
are ready to murder for a cup of coffee.
Should I say ‘murder’ in a courthouse?
I discovered myself in the eating lounge
with a coffee machine that still doesn’t work.
How unfair that I can’t leave the building
for a quick cup of coffee till lunch.
So, I resort to having the small salad and orange
that was to be my lunch.
Still, I want that coffee!
I’ll take it boiling hot
right out of the pot.
So now I look forward
to when then release us for lunch.
I plan to run down the street and get
a very large cup of coffee -
maybe two or three.
I desperately need my caffeine fix for today.
