Let's Remember Those Soldiers

Let's remember those soldiers
No matter alive or dead
Hold them dear to our hearts
And keep their memories in our heads

Let's remember those soldiers
As they fight on foreign lands
And pray they make it back home
Because it is all up to Gods hands

Let's remember those soldiers
And the hell they are going through
Praise them when they get home
For all they've done for me and you

Let's remember those soldiers
And their families they left behind
Should you know some of these families
Try and treat them a little more kind

Let's remember those soldiers
They are fighting for our rights
Before you go to sleep tonight
Say a prayer for them tonight

Let's remember those soldiers
And let them know that we care
But for the grace of God
We might be the ones over there

Let's remember those soldiers
And let's wish them all the best
May they all make it back home
So we all can get some rest

Let's remember those soldiers
Even ones from wars of the past
Though some are dead and gone
Let's make sure their memories last

Let's remember those soldiers
And docs and nurses in those camps
Taking care of the wounded
Let's put their faces on postage stamps

Let's remember those soldiers
And not just count them as a loss
For they are truely the ones
That pay the ultimate cost

Soldier (not really a poem)

the american revolution was fought witha new breed of soldier.
this country was founded on that soldier.
that soldier is the one that those on the front lines calls the coward
that soldier is the one that those on the front lines call when they need help
because these soldiers dont miss.
these soldiers are trained harder than the most elite frontline man
these soldiers are tought to kill their enemy before there enemy sees them.
these soldiers are the ghosts in the night,
these soldiers are the wind in the day
these soldiers are everywhere.
these soldiers are the bush next to u.
these soldiers are the the tree across the field.
these soldiers are the lump of snow in the flat plain.
these soldiers are snipers.
snipers are the reason we are free.
snipers stop the enemy before the enemy gets close to u,

That Which Plagues the History Bandits

The History Bandits swinging...
Swinging in History roll.
Up comes one leader,
Ousted or assassinated by another.
The complaints of many
Feeding the avarice of one,
Makes the humdrum into history.
An idealist Wilson, a vengeful Clemenceau or
A prudent Lloyd George...who wishes to know?
The inspiring evil Hitler or politically capitalistic Americans
Or the fearless bloody Communists...
Mould the mounds of history.
A guilty country pleading innocence,
A Rasputinian government brought down by Rasputin
Or a prince who fashioned the legends of the creatures that
Plague the human existence.

What makes History?
Of what use is History?
The questions that plague the History Bandits.
Take up the sword of ink,
Oil the wheels that turn in your head,
And ponder anew on the questions that
Makes you wonder.

Go forth the History Bandits...
Go forth, and claim your rightful path.

The Lebanon

She dreams of nineteen sixty-nine
Before the soldiers came
The life was cheap on bread and wine
And sharing meant no shame
She is awakened by the screams
Of rockets flying from nearby
And scared she clings onto her dreams
To beat the fear that she might die
And who will have won
When the soldiers have gone
From the lebanon
The lebanon
Before he leaves the camp he stops
He scans the world outside
And where there used to be some shops
Is where the snipers sometimes hide
He left his home the week before
He thought hed be like the police
But now he finds he is at war
Werent we supposed to keep the peace
And who will have won
When the soldiers have gone
From the lebanon
The lebanon
The lebanon
From the lebanon
I must be dreaming
It cant be true
I must be dreaming
It cant be true
And who will have won
When the soldiers have gone?
From the lebanon
The lebanon
The lebanon
From the lebanon

Can We See The Future Today? [Part 1]

Many say it is fairly possible to foresee the future
Others say, probabilities can be computed
Some say, it is all a guessing game
Few say, why bother – what will be, will surely be

From time immemorial, human beings have
wondered what the future has in stock
Many have used various methods to peep into the future
Some of these methods include astrology, oneiromancy,
chiromancy, numerology, geomancy, crystal gazing,
tarot cards, clairvoyance, oracles, necromancy,
I ching, feng shui, rune casting and many more

All these methods are known by several people as
divination, fortune-telling, soothsaying and prophesy

Numerous people today are still using astrology to
predict, foresee and to forecast the future
Based on the time, place and day of birth, astrology can be
used to explore who we are, our potentials and our strengths
How accurate is astrology as a tool to foresee the future?
Some say, it depends on the astrologer

Oneiromancy is another method that has been used
to peep and foresee the future on this earth
Oneiromancy is the use of dreams to interpret the future
The future can sometimes be revealed in dreams
We all remember the dreams Jacob, Joseph, Daniel,
Paul and many more in the Bible
How precise are dreams to foresee the future?
The accuracy of dreams depends on individuals

Some have peeped into the future through chiromancy
otherwise called palmistry, which in simplistic terms – means
the reading of the lines on our right and left palms
The lines on our palms are said to contain secrets
about us from our cradle to our grave
How exact are palm-lines in revealing
our future hopes and potentials
This depends on the professionalism of the palm-reader

Thermopylae

Honour to those who in their lives
are committed and guard their Thermopylae.
Never stirring from duty;
just and upright in all their deeds,
but with pity and compassion too;
generous whenever they are rich, and when
they are poor, again a little generous,
again helping as much as they are able;
always speaking the truth,
but without rancor for those who lie.

And they merit greater honor
when the foresee (and many do foresee)
that Ephialtes will finally appear,
and in the end the Medes will go through.

Seven Months

How can I forget you
Disregard how I feel
Silently listen
To the words I cant see
For as long as I have tried
And as low as I can be
I will never resign myself
From the trial I seek
Why should I forgive you
After all that Ive seen
Quietly whisper
When my heart wants to scream
For as long as I have tried
And as low as I can be
I will never resign myself
From the trial I seek
Theres no time to rest
Or to reconsider
For this cruel unsaid, wont concede
For as long as I have tried
And as low as I can be
I will never resign myself
From the trial I seek

I Want to be a Soldier

I will be a soldier
Only when soldiers realize
They are not animals or
cattles
Only if soldiers can ask
'Why should I shoot that
innocent man? '
I would be a soldier
If soldiers can ask the
commander
'Why should we shoot at
the children? '
I would be a soldier
If soldiers know that
The red blood that runs
through their veins
Runs in the rest peopl's too.
I would be a soldier if
Soldiers know they aren't
what they ask them to be
When they know that
The Emperor will never ask
them to kill his children
I would be a soldier
When soldiers realize war
is inhuman
When soldiers know war
always starts war
When they know that
World peace can not be
reached through war
When United Nations can
ask themselves
Is war the only way to end
corruption in the globe?
When soldiers know the
distance between peace and
war.
When soldiers realize how
intoxicative the gun is.
When soldiers realize
that gun does not control
them, but they control it.
I would be a soldier only if
soldiers know
why Martin Luther King jnr.
was killed.
If they know Adolf Hitler
also tried to make peace
through war.
I would be a soldier
If they can tell me why they
are only trained to kill.
I would be a soldier if
soldier can say
NO TO BRUTE LEADERS.
I would be a soldier if
soldiers know
the difference between
death and birth.
I would be a soldier if they
can tell
Why they are weapons of
destruction?
If they can explain why they
killed at Vietnam?
Why they killed at Somalia?
Why Ghadafi was killed
without trial?
Why Abraham Lincoln was
shot
Why Ghandi was killed,
Why they dont care if they
die in war in the name of
peace.
I would be a soldier If soldiers know they have rights If soldiers know they need Freedom. I would be a soldier If the goverments around the world realize How wonderful the world would be If the money invests in atomic weapons can be spent To feed billions of children on the streets of India, Nigeria, Brazil, South Africa The United States and all the streets of the World. I would be a soldier when soldiers can fight for liberty And not for slavery When soldiers know that nobody should think for them When soldiers know they are humans not cattles, When they realize that nobody should tell them what to think and what to feel. If soldiers can be humans, I would be a soldier.

The soldiers fought

The soldiers fought a fight, and went for us,

They went not thinking of themselves, and no fuss;

Some were injured. Yet in such agony they fought,

And some carried back to safety, while the enemy was sought.

Those soldiers were so very brave, fighting in our place,

Marching altogether, In order and without grace;

They never knew if they'd get back home at all,

All they did was fighting to win, the problem wasn't small.

And a lot of those brave soldiers, lost arms and legs, it's so,

But some very brave soldiers, where they died we don't know;

And this is why the legacy, we remember them, at set of sun,

And thank all these brave soldiers, for the good that was done.

Cassandra Knew

I’m waiting though impatiently
but don’t know what I’m waiting for.
A high state of expectancy.
I’ve often felt like this before.

I think I am a sensitive
who’s blessed or cursed with second sight.
I hope for something positive.

But I foresee a tragedy.
Something that is yet to be.

Heavy responsibility

Though I may know I cannot say
who would believe me anyway?

I sometimes wish that I was blind
to pictures forming in my mind
but now I have become resigned.

To waiting for the axe to fall
confirming fears which torture me.
Alas I have no choice at all
I cannot choose what I foresee.

Inverted

The feeling contends, once kind.
Violence starts, won't cease.
Vengeance comes. Want rewards.
The servant starts piercing chores.
Stitching mouths, once skinned.
The gaping wounds left to mend.
Reckless kills, live dispite.
Boundary has soldiers try.
I have come to read my friend
The gifts of all those born and bred.
The living dead once more resign.
We're facing cause it's creation.
I have come to resist life's scar in pain.
The fates just called in Armageddon.
Infected, for the scraps are red.
Deep within the living charge.
The bag once empty filled with fire.
I'd like to find out, just what you said.
I'd like to see you. Justice dead.
Who'd like to see you. Justice served
With lies to go around, the sentence served

My Shadow

Things I have left behind
Within an effort to move forward,
Counting every minute, every second-
Reliving my life through every hour, day and year-
The night time sky is falling before my own eyes
Blocking the pathway before me, blinding me-
I cannot foresee a future-The rain that fell every time
I tried to venture outward,
Rain that transformed to tears
When all hope had ostensibly disappeared.
Things I have left behind-
Places where I had been locked inside,
Having lost grounds with all that is real-
Perhaps a few roses in a cracked vase by my bedside,
A mother that did not care and a father that did not believe-
When through my own eyes my world had fallen to pieces.
I left behind many people-
People I did not trust and it was then that I knew
I had to rebuild my foundation,
To build a future for myself that would be mine and mine alone-
Things I have left behind are now
Gone and gone forever-all that is left is time-
Time to move on and to bury the past in my back yard and
Search for hope, a purpose and a new reality.
These things I have left behind are sinking into the ground-
Now I can foresee a future- the flame on my candle is burning
Guiding me as I run forward into a garden of blossoming trees and
A paved pathway upon which to run forward- and a cloudless sky
Where I can lift my wings, once broken and are healing, and fly-
Fly high above looking down below at my newfound veracity-
I know if I were to take a look behind-
All I could see would be a shadow upon a sidewalk-
A shadow of my past and everybody knows that shadows don't last forever, and
All else that I have left behind is gone forever,
Looking forward at the allure of the springtime and
I see clearly now- there is no more rain and as I look above me
I can see trees seemingly touching the sun against a deep blue sky-
I can see clearly now because my eyes are open wide and
There are no tears to cry today and when I glance behind me-
All I see is a shadow- that shadow of my past, vanishing in the late spring's breeze-

Soldiers

(I just got one question:Where my soldiers at?)
V1:(I see you watchin' me.) Yeah ya know I'm on it.
(See how I'm livin') You know I'm too strong. (All they throw at me)
I'm not fallin' for it. (They think I'm alone)They got it all wrong.
PC:Everybody on the left, and everybody on the right, who's not scared to testify.
(Willing to testify)Gotta let the world know it, that ya not afraid to show it, if ya not
afraid to show it let me hear ya tonight. (Cmon!)
Chorus:All my people in the place, ya lookin' good with style n grace, but here's my
question listen clear:Where my soldiers? (RIGHT HERE!!) Say hey...(HEY!!). If you know
you keep it tight say hey!.......(HEY!!) Where my soldiers at? (RIGHT HERE!!)

prove?(You know that ya do)Gotta represent!(The life that we've been given, the reason why
we're livin' so....
PC, Chorus1X
Well you know..there's a reason..(there's a reason)..we're here to..(here to change)...to change the
world, and you know I belive it....(I believe it)...we can do it, but it's up to you. The request of The Maker
of the ocean and the sky so blue is to call up some soldiers...so if you're not afraid to take a stand then
let me see you raise you hands!!!

Simeon's Blessing

Blessings
on this radiant child.

I'll smear his head
with bitter oils, cool
his brow with the waters
of paradise,
and with sweet incense
raise to heaven
his soul!

...but I fear for the life
my failing eyes foresee
how the rich of this land
will fear him, strike him down,
covet even the air
he breathes,

and you, daughter,
the soldiers will pierce
your tender breasts
with hot swords
of envy, tear
an open wound
deep in your heart,

to be a sanctuary
for all the mothers
of all the children
yet to be slain.

Most blessed
are you, my child, most holy
is your name.

Nigerian Biafran War

The Biafrans cry separate
Nigerians cry we are one
The Nigerians and Biafrans
in a royal rumble

For non would submit to humble
as non would come to agreement
so they decided to fumble
and settle themselves on the battle field

The Nigerian soldiers fully prepared
Biafran soldiers thought they were ready
the opposing soldiers were excited
on the day of thier first outing

The soldiers filled with joy
the men filled with hatred
the women filled with fear
and the children with innocence

A bomb blast is heard
the soldiers quack their guns
the men getting ready to attack
the women in absolute confussion

The youths pick up weapons
the children sheding out blood
the soldiers held unto thier triggers
as men fell like woods

The rich flying abroad
the poor into the bush
women and children trampled
while some died at the instance

The children cries are heard
the shout of the women aswell
the grumbling of the men
and the mummuring of the youths

Nigerian soldiers chant their war songs
as they return with Biafrans defeated
though they still cry separate
the echoes of oneness is louder

The bodies of the dead were gathered
and the injured too
non could bear to stand and stare
at the worst of scenes

Women and children cried out thier hearts
the men were left with shocks
as every one reaised that war means death
and the reign of peace brings life
