Truth Hits Everybody
Sleep lay behind me like a broken ocean
Strange waking dreams before my eyes unfold
You lay there sleeping like an open doorway
I stepped outside myself and felt so cold
Take a look at my new toy
Itll blow your head in two, o boy
Truth hits everybody
Truth hits everyone
I thought about it and my dream was broken
I clutch at images like dying breath
And I dont want to make a fuss about it
The only certain thing in life is death
Take a look at my new toy
Itll blow your head in two, o boy
Truth hits everybody
Truth hits everyone
Where you want to be
Wont you ever see
Truth hits everybody
Truth hits everyone
Now

Three Hits
Three hits to the heart son
And its poetry in motion
One could send you down the river
Threes a strange way to be delivered
Would you trade your words for freedom
Thats a barter for a blind man
Three hits to the heart son
And its poetry in motion
Are you leveed like a treasure
Only words can help me find you
And this worlds a fickle measure
I would painfully remind you
From a wise man to your red hand
You lay covered ion our best sins
Three hits to the heart son
And its poetry in motion
Well I dream you constant stranger
With your best bloods and your anger
You say mother do you claim me
My beloved do you blame me
Well the first two might release you
But the last one sings in me son
Three hits to the heart son
And its poetry in motion
Three hits to the heart son
And the last one sings in me

Truth is, you make albums, and some of those songs are hits, and some of the greatest hits albums have songs that weren't hits. You have a career, the reason why we're still around 10 years is that we do have successful songs.

Empty
No one knows what it is like to be empty inside.
No one knows what pain this comes with.
No one knows how to feel when the emptiness hits you.
No one knows what to think when it hits.
No one knows how to react when the emptiness hits.
You may think you know these things, but you don't.
I know these things.
I'll tell you.
When it attacks you, your going to feel lonely, abandon.
And the pain is excruciating. oh my god it will make you want to cry a lot.
When it hits you will think about death, not just anyone's death, your death.
And you will react very badly to feeling empty.
You'll start cutting your self, a lot.
Once you start you wont stop.
So Beware.

Impact
It hits!
No one knows,
How to deal with it.
An upsetting impact strikes.
And the suddenness of this,
Finds many unprepared.
It does not fit.
There is no choice,
To accept or resist.
It hits!
Unexpectedly.
And no one knows,
How it was imposed.
An upsetting impact strikes.
And the suddenness of this,
Finds many unprepared.
It does not fit.
There is no choice,
To accept or resist.
This impact scatters a consciousness.
Storming mentalities and doing it quick.
And this no one believes.
All exits are closed.
With eyes opened wide...
Leaving those feeling exposed.
There is no where to flee.
Some receive this as a gift.
But what are they going to do with it?
It hits!
But how can it be described?
When the impact attacks from inside.
It hits.
An evolution stirs a higher consciousness.
An impact comes...
To split and lift!
As if assisted by a divine shift!
Without debates or mandates to pick.
It hits.
And we are in the midst of it!
Beset...
Or bothered not!

As an artist, you dream about accumulating enough successful music to someday do just one greatest-hits album, but to reach the point where you're releasing your second collection of hits is beyond belief.

Draw Me A Map Of This World
lady draw me a map of
this world
and tell me where the
mountains and
rivers are
draw me an island
of soft grass
where a man and
woman can rest
and make love
draw me a pond
a larger one where
the orange goldfish
are fat where the
swans can swim
draw me some
clouds where the
birds can fly
make them real
please
i need all of them
for me
to be real today.

Love From A Hate Man
screams and yells
hurt and pain
hits and kills
your love from him
is screams
your love from him
is hurt
your love from him
is hits
the love he showes you, hurts you
his hugs are hits
his kisses are kills
pain flows from his fingers to your heart
pain flows out of his mouth and in to yours with every kiss
pain flows out of his body and in to yours with every hug
pain and tears
screams and sorrow
hits and kills
is his love to you
So you do shorter versions of the hits, or you take out a long guitar solo or things like that to make time for the hits and new music as well. But I don't think any of us ever get to do as much new music as we would like to.

I used to say
I used to stand up next to you....
you used to trust in me too
i used to.... say dont worry
dont be in a hurry
ill take the hits
ill die for you and rot in dark pits
but not so today
not so i say
i tried and now there are so many hits
i could ne3ver take them all

On Most Surfaces
The frost hits me in the eye
and wakes me
these are blury winters
and I cannot see
I walk into the white light of the snow
when the sun comes
I break it with my shadow
which tales me where I go
The frost hits me in the eye
and wakes me
I am the snow falling down on you
I tear up your face with my frost
And make you run to somewhere warm
When I come I see you get away
I burst out about your emptyness
The frost hits me in the eye
and wakes me
these are blury winters
and I cannot see

A Heartache In The Works
(chet biggers/melba montgomery)
This ole heart of mine
Is now showing signs
From the wear and tear of times
You have taken it and crushed it
Then came close to throwing it away
Holding on to someone who dont love the same way that you do
Always hits right where it hurts
Its a heartache in the works
Looking through my tears
Its hard to see you care
When I know that you dont hear
When I lie away beside you
And cry til I see the light of day
Holding on to someone who dont love the same way that you do
Always hits right where it hurts
Its a heartache in the works
Its hard to keep surviving
When love is slowly dying
And all the pain without keeps building up
Holding on to someone who dont love the same way that you do
Always hits right where it hurts
Its a heartache in the works
Holding on to someone who dont love the same way that you do
Always hits right where it hurts
Its a heartache in the works
Its a heartache in the works

A Rock
I threw a rock up in the sky
I threw it hard so it went high
Towards my enemy it was thrown
And if it hits him, his assailant will be unknown
But if it hits him and be does not die
I will throw a other rock hoping he will not survive.

One must always draw, draw with the eyes, when one cannot draw with a pencil.
When we drop fear, we can draw nearer to people, we can draw nearer to the earth, we can draw nearer to all the heavenly creatures that surround us.

Draw The Line
Brothers and sisters
Were gonna draw the line to forget about the problems abroad
But, in the end, we all have problems of our own
Gangs, crack, racism, and many people dont have hope
It probably dont matter much to you
In the struggles, the time that we live
But, you dont know your future, so you better take time to give
Whos gonna draw the line?
Were gonna draw the line
Together, forever and ever
You must be thinking, I cant do a thing
But look at me, I help when I sing
Where man can make a difference
Like ceasar chaves and doctor king
We all have the ability to release a positive capability
Where the youth is our responsibility
Its time to take a stand
Whos gonna draw the line?
Were gonna draw the line
Together, forever and ever
Brothers and sisters
Where gonna draw the line to make people change
Yo Im optimistic, down with positivity
But yo Im realistic, this line will be drawn over night
This is a struggle so prepare to fight
Whos gonna draw the line?
Were gonna draw the line
Together, forever and ever
