The poor peasant here hives under conditions quite different from those of Russia. Though often terrible, they are not as appalling as they were there.

The revolution in Russia was terrible for the proletariat in the long years of its development and it is terrible now, after the victory. But at the actual time of revolution it was easy, and this was due to the peasants.

The revolution in Russia was victorious with the help of the poor peasants. This should always be borne in mind here in Western Europe and all the world over. But the workers in Western Europe stand alone: this should never be forgotten in Russia.

Russia! ! ! !
Russia has power
The power to build a tower
They will never cower
At the site of a bigger tower
Because they still have power
Russia has power over stuff
Because they are really tough
People in Russia never ever run
Because they always have a gun
Russia owns a big bomb
AND SO YOU WILL LISTEN TO THEM!

I don't think Russia will follow the United States's way. I don't think Russia will follow the French way. I'm sure Russia will find its own way.

Hatred, intolerance, poor hygienic conditions and violence all have roots in illiteracy, so we're trying to do something to help the poor and the needy.

In modern Russia, you have no official, formal assessment of this past. Nobody in any Russian document has said that the policy of the Soviet government was criminal, that it was terrible. No one has ever said this.

Raspberry Hives
The ancient man
with raspberry hives
on his cheeks
since childhood
will live alone
no longer.
He'll marry, he says,
the first woman who'll have him.
Till now
he has wanted
to die
as he's lived,
alone in his room
with the radio playing,
the water in the bathtub
dripping.
The drone of hours,
however, has become
the drone of years
and the ancient man
with raspberry hives
on his cheeks
since childhood
fears death will convert
his hives into pocks,
take his body
but reject his soul.
For reasons
he can't articulate,
he believes
if he weds
the first woman
who'll have him,
death will have reason,
for the first time,
to do the job right.

Small Flowers
The familiarity of a flower is so small,
I love to admire and drink this alcohol.
I may at first be appalling, so splendid,
Yet now the mother in you is abdicated.
Never in this mind of a lovely lady
Do I see applause, like the raining indecency
Of a mild season, one of the efforts,
May appalling weather have comforts.

Russia, O My Russia, Hail!
Russia, O my Russia, hail!
Steeds as tempests flying,
Howling of the distant wolves,
Eagles high, shrill crying!
Hail, my Russia, hail! Hail high!
Hail thy green forests proud,
Hail thy silvery nightingales,
Hail Steppes and wind and cloud!

I want there to be no peasant in my kingdom so poor that he cannot have a chicken in his pot every Sunday.
We, Russia, are prepared to work with others. I am convinced that stability and security in Europe cannot be considered without taking Russia into account.

We see considerable strain in Russia, and that's obviously a matter of concern to us. It's in the very strong self-interest of Russia to continue on the reform path.

Mother Russia
Mother russia how are you sleeping
Middle winter cold winds blow
From the trees the snowflakes drifting
Swirling round like ghosts in the snow
Mother russia poetry majestic
Tells the time of a great empire
Turning round the old man ponders
Reminiscing an age gone by
Mother russia
Dance of the tsars
Hold up your heads
Be proud of what you are
Now it has come
Freedom at last
Turning the tides of history
And your past
Mother russia
Dance of the tsars
Hold up your heads
Remember who you are
Can you release
The anger the grief
Can you be happy
Now your people are free

Under These Conditions
I know were both married
Yet were both alone
Hes always working
And shes never home
If we got together
It would be so good
But under these conditions
I dont think we should
cause we both have children
And they need us around
Although were both willing
We cant let em down
As much as we want to
You know where we stand
Under these conditions
I dont think we can
We love each other
But its only in dreams
But we have to get used to the fact
Its just one of those things
Well never know how
This love could feel
And under these conditions
We never will

Deserving Is An Evaluation
If a peasant got a princes as wife,
Everyone would say he doesn’t deserve her.
The peasant would not subscribe to it.
The evaluation is from jealousy.
