I could have made money this way, and perhaps amused myself writing code. But I knew that at the end of my career, I would look back on years of building walls to divide people, and feel I had spent my life making the world a worse place.

Kick Down The Walls
Took the long way to the shortcut, and the walls were made of stone
Took the low road to the highground, had to feel it in my bones
Everybody wants some heaven, but nobody wants to die
Its been brought to my attention
Youll be dead a long time, now aint that a crime
Chorus:
Kick down the walls, shake down the building, help me bust out of this cage
Kick down the walls, shake down the building, must be time for a change
I went driving in the moonlight, there was no place left to go
I went digging in my coalmine, when I hit the motherload
If this world could work together, like a big old human clock
It would run on till forever, it would never have to stop, never have to stop
Chorus
(instrumental break)
You cant buy no protection, dont care who you are
Spreading out in all directions, now its no hold barred
Everybody runs for cover, from the sun and sex and sin
If you think you got the answers, buddy just you come on in, step right in
Chorus repeats 2x
Kick down the walls, shake down the building
Kick down the walls, shake down the building
Kick down the walls, shake down the building
Kick down the walls, shake down the building

Turned on.
Punch in any number,
But before you do,
Let me insinuate some things to subtract, add, multiply, & divide.
First, add the years you've spent selling yourself like a Muslim marriage plan.
Second, subtract the dignity diminishing as each year goes by.
Third, divide the spermicide
Eating at your pride
You have no access to happiness
Divide the children pertinent to each man
Don't get too shocked now.
Gotta get to work.
Divide, divide, divide.
Fourth, multiply the times spent with your legs open
Like a 24-hour convenience store.
And what did you get?
A man's spermicide
Eating at your pride
Making babies like you're taking a shit
Subtracting your dignity
In addition to the years spent selling yourself like a Muslim marriage plan.
All of this - for a man's convenience.
Now I know why you hate math.

I Was Made To Feel Different In My Younger Years
I remember sitting in the corners of shadows.
Wishing to be invisible,
After making attempts to disappear.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
My voice was deep at the age of twelve.
And my knees knocked.
I was aware I walked pigeon toed.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
People were quick to critique me then.
When they would laugh at me.
I laughed right back at them to hide and cry alone.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
I grew wiser before I aged.
And years it would take for me to learn to forgive.
But I did with a doing successfully.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
Perceptive, empathetic and sometimes distant.
Removed from anguish I knew others felt.
Yet today I might sit with periodic embitterness.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
I've learned to use my talents and gifts,
To lift me beyond any loneliness that visited.
And with slow and painful steps I grew to improve.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
And when I self examine to reflect...
So happy I am to have held on to my patience,
With a giving to others a respect regardless...
If little of it was shown to me,
When I was growing to bloom.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
Hungering then to be accepted.
I was made to feel different in my younger years.
Hungering then not to be neglected.

Architectural Thesis
There is a place
Dark and light
Visible and invisible
Where people come
Come to find themselves
Within this place are places
Formed by convoluted
And woven paths
Slippery and disappearing walls
Elements
Static
Moving
Freestanding and projecting
Where the senses are mixed
And in turmoil
Within this place are places
In the paths
In the ceilings
In the walls
And in the spaces
Threshold between structure
And space is blurred
No stasis
Sexes undivided
Races collided
This is the journey
To the place
There is order where one enters
Replete with the familiar
A rational decision point
Beyond this things are placed
Things are learned
Things are made
There are things to be seen
And heard
Here one feels
Here one experiences
Parts of the place
The divide is thin and long
A fragile skin
Supported by the journey
And the place
Inside spaces collapsed
From bending
And shifting planes
The divide is the edge
Between opposites
Death and life
Woman and man
Unknown and known
The divide is a link
Between the journey
And the place

The Death Of A Good Man.....(A Tribute To President Attah Mills)
A place of tears and sorrow life is.......
A frightening and passing dream life is....
A tear dropp in the eye of infinity life is...
A borrowed gift life is....
Death is a sun smiling down on men,
Men has no choice than to smile back at the sun,
men are nothing but dust and ashes,
Dust to dust, ashes to ashes,
Men are nothing but flowers which blossoms at sunrise,
But fades at sunset.
I never knew he would begone that day,
I never knew i won't see him again,
Why will our lives be borrowed?
Only to be taken away at the lenders will,
Why will the good ones always die?
Why are the mighty always falling?
Why is life such a place of agony?
Does this life worth one good man's life?
Farewell my president to the great beyond,
Farewell to the afterlife,
farewell to a place of rest,
I pray the ferryman gives you a safe trip across the river of dead,
I pray you pay your two gold coin debt you owe him.
No more shall life make mockery of your manhood,
No more shall the burdens of life pull you down,
No more shall you suffer from the cruel hands whips of life,
No more shall you sweat under the mid-day sun,
No more shall you walk through the crest of waves,
No more shall you walk through the babbling of breeze,
For now you have gone to place of rest,
A place away from the problems of mankind.
Would money buy life? i would have spent my last coin,
Would poems and monuments bring you back?
i would have exhaust my pen in writing,
Would tears bring you back? i would have shed my last drop,
But now all i could do is nothing but remember you.
Your life was well spent in kindness to everyone around you,
My president, a selfless servant of his people,
A man of dignity and integrity is gone,
The good man lives on,
Goodbye my lord....... goodbye.
I will see you again but not soon, never soon,
For am still sailing the seas of life,
Am still at the shores of distant oceans,
Am still writing a book in your name,
A book that would sell for thousands of years to come,
I am etching your name on the pillars of history,
Your actions will echo across the century,
Strangers will hear your name,
They will wonder who you are?
How bravely you fought,
How fiercely you love,
If they ever tell my story,
Let them say i lived in the time of Attah Mill,
Let them say i lived with the tamer of horses,
Let them say i once walked with a giant,
Farewell Attah Mill........ farewell my friend.

Code Of Love
He put so much into her life
She took so much out of his
It was a crucial assignment
No-one ever asked for this.
It was a little confusing
He thought he knew what to do
But now theyre walking in silence
Little girl, and soldier blue
Well she wrote you a song saying that she approved
But you didnt understand
And when love comes along its just a catcher in the rye
Its hard to make those long term plans.
Well its the code of love
You dont understand her.
Well its the code of love
You could never ask for more.
They made a certain agreement
Hes bound to do what hes told
He ran back home with the message
Screwed up in a pocket cold.
She sat at home with her reason
A sour note and a tear
But love comes home for the season
Breaking down the walls of fears.
Well its the code of love
You dont understand her.
Well its the code of love
You could never ask for more.

Carlos' In the Middle of the Road, Plagiarized by Me
in the middle of my writing career there was you
you were in the middle of my writing career
there was you
in the middle of my writing career there was you
never should i forget this incident
in the life of my broken eyelashes
never should i forget that in the middle of my writing career
there was you
there was you in the middle of my writing career
in the middle of my writing career
there was you
you were that stone.

The girl you all...
The girl you all once knew so well,
Has left and now dwells.
Dwells in the place of burning fire.
The place where you sent her with desire.
The girl you all once knew as a child,
Has left not for a while.
She's gone and won't come back again to this town.
Are you happy she took her final bow?
The girl you all once made fun of at school,
She was treated so cruel.
How you made her feel pain and fear,
Making her think she's unwanted here.
The girl you all once put in such pain,
Because of you fear and grief is what she gain.
She gained this by your torture in her life,
And yet you wonder why she sleeps with that silver knife,
The girl you all once called the bitch from hell,
Can you hear her ring those darken bells?
Do you understand the pain she was put through,
Around the people she once knew?
The girl you all let her life end,
Did you remember when you were once a friend?
A friend to her when she had none around,
So why did you let her die and leave this small town?

Writing To
Writing to feel
Writing to heal
Writing to steal
Writing every emotion..
With such a white background.
It makes no sound
Even as the keys I pound.
Let my words have bite
Let from my words drip out meanings beyond meanings
Its something I try to be constantly be achieving.
Writing to feel
Writing to heal
Writing to steal
I want every heart and mind
Sucked in cause this is my world stage
No sense of the time.
Never to turn the page
Stuck in to a world oh so oh so fine
Writing to feel
Writing to heal
Writing to steal
Listen to her melody, as she sings.
Let chaos reign down from the skies
What will this day really bring?
Will the letter say good bye?
Will it mend everything?
Making everything better.
Destroying all the consequences
That exist in your world.
Welcome to the place I visit daily.
Inspirational maddness,
It attacks, attacks, and attacks.
With perfect sadness
I must let go once more.
And then the words hit the floor
Writing to feel
Writing to heal.
Writing to steal.
Becoming one with my soul.
Fighting for its one and only control.
Its mine, Its mine. Its mine.
In this reality it subsequently is not
A constant questioning of what?
Writing to feel
Writing to heal.
Writing to steal.
With every sound, taste, and light.
The worlds get get oh so oh so bright
Understand that which is not so forthright
This is my night, and day.
So come on join me, please this way.

Im so sorry
I'm so sorry
Sorry for making you think all men are the same
Sorry for making you feel naked
Sorry for sharing my dreams with the outside world
I'm so sorry
Sorry for taking late night calls in your presence
Sorry for not making you my number one
Sorry for not saying thank you
I'm so sorry
Sorry for the tears I've made you cry
Sorry for not answering when you called upon my name
Sorry for waking up and not finding me there
Sorry for making you feel unappreciated and unloved
I'm so sorry
Sorry for not saying Happy Birthday
Sorry for being a nightmare in your life
Sorry for making you my punching bag
I'm so sorry
Sorry for making you say sorry when it was not your fault
Sorry for the promises I made but never kept
I'm so sorry

(alan jackson)
In a small town down in georgia over forty years ago
Her maiden name was musik til she met that jackson boy
They married young like folks did then, not a penny to their name
But they believe the one you vow to love
Should always stay that same
And on the land his daddy gave him, a foundation under way
For a love to last forever or until their dying day
They built a bond thats strong enough to stand the test of time
And a place for us to turn to when our lives were in a bind
And they made their house from a toolshed
Grandaddy rolled down on two logs
And they builts walls all around it
And they made that house a home
They taught us bout good living
They taught is right and wrong
Lord therell never be another place
In this world Ill call home
My momma raised five children, four girls then there was me
She found her strength with faith in gof and love of family
She never had a social life, home was all she knew
Except the time she took a job, to play a bill or two
My daddy skinned his knuckles on the cars that he repaired
He never earned much money but he gane us all he had
He never made the front page but he did the best he couold
And folks drove their cars from miles around
To let him look underneath the hood
And they made their house from a toolshed
Grandaddy rolled down on two logs
And they builts walls all around it
And they made that house a home
They taught us bout good living
They taught is right and wrong
Lord therell never be another place
In this world Ill call home
No therell never be another place in this world
That Ill call home

Big Money
Big money goes around the world
Big money underground
Big money got a mighty voice
Big money make no sound
Big money pull a million strings
Big money hold the prize
Big money weave a mighty web
Big money draw the flies
Sometimes pushing people around
Sometimes pulling out the rug
Sometimes pushing all the buttons
Sometimes pulling out the plug
It's the power and the glory
It's a war in paradise
It's a cinderella story
On a tumble of the dice
Big money goes around the world
Big money take a cruise
Big money leave a mighty wake
Big money leave a bruise
Big money make a million dreams
Big money spin big deals
Big money make a mighty head
Big money spin big wheels
Sometimes building ivory towers
Sometimes knocking castles down
Sometimes building you a stairway --
Lock you underground
It's that old-time religion
it's the kingdom they would rule
It's the fool on television
Getting paid to play the fool
Big money goes around the world
Big money give and take
Big money done a power of good
Big money make mistakes
Big money got a heavy hand
Big money take control
Big money got a mean streak
Big money got no soul

11-15-09***- - I Miss Mirth
I've recently taken a long hard look
To see what's missing in this world
Things seem to be getting worse
What is making modern life so cold
Thinking back - - - what did we used to have
That made us eager to get out of bed
What did we have then
That was bouncing around in our head
I think it was the potential for mirth
I awoke expecting some joke to come
I knew a friend or my uncle would dropp by
Or I'd hear a story from an old bum
Sometimes a hobo's stories were best
He's tell us of his travels by rail
And for a nickel
Of lands he'd set sail
But each story always had a good laugh
I was expecting meriment every day
Not just on Christmas Eve
When did I lose this way
It was others making up stories
Just to get my money
Didn't create mirth
Those stories weren't funny
Whether told by my church
Or handed out as financial advice
There is no smile on my face
As I look at the resulta of the roll of modern dice

Money
Money is the root of all evil,
Money was blessed by the devil,
Money, money can kill,
Money can cheat, steal…
Ask the disbarred lawyer,
What this sad creature
Can do: It can commit suicide,
Money, money can divide,
Money is not what you think it is,
Having money is not going to put you really at ease,
On the contrary, you’ll have fewer friends,
And more creatures showing their hands,
Claws, guns and deadly weapons.
Money will not send you to the heavens,
Money, money is dirty and evil;
Money is a sick devil.
Money and women don’t mix,
Just like alcohol and driving.
Having hush money is not a quick fix,
But a dangerous way to go down the ravine.
Money is not what you think it is,
Having money is not going to put you really at ease.
Money exists to be spent:
To buy food, clothes, and to pay the rent.
Be careful with money,
Money is not a faithful honey.

House Made Of Stone
the cell door slams shut!
staring through the barred window,
he can make out a lone crow
flying just over the treetops....
can feel the sunlight turning
the wheel, as seasons change.
can hear the big trucks
out on the interstate...
lying back on his bunk,
he closes his eyes....
can feel his spirit leaving
his beaten body behind....
turning back time, and years,
and most of all, choices....
back before the cars, the whores,
the dope, the money, and the guns....
he can see his mother
washing clothes in the sink.
can taste the beans, the cornbread,
can hear her reading her Bible....
can see the hope drenched walls
that poverty closed them in with....
and the keys... the books, the faith,
the code of living and giving....
choices... shadows and fire,
roaches on the floor....
dignity or power; and those eyes
that followed every move he made...
lone crow flying into the distance,
smaller and smaller, almost gone.
the part of him so real he'd forgotten,
lost to the hammer and chains....
and a house made of stone!

A Walk Within A Dream
I saw a building old as days
With countless rooms laid within
Walls with cracks and ivy rose
From the earth before me
Slowly I entered that place
Air ran heavy, thick to my lungs
With each taken step
I walked the rooms and halls
Some bare stripped of life
Others as though never touched
Some like a memory kept
Where instruments of music
Lay dust covered, silent
Still brought a song to thought
I saw paintings and pictures
Rich in a veil of colour
Like all the seasons held at once
A beauty found, celebrated
Then a sadness felt
In the shadowed halls
Empty with a loneliness
Another room had windows
Where a wind whistled through
I heard a birdsong carried
It passed in a second step
I thought no more of it
I descended and climbed stairs
Became lost and yet found
I knew this place well
However strange it came to me
Yes I knew this place
I felt the walls, ageless
I smelt the air, familiar
The ground beat to a pulse
A rhythm only I knew
On this my first visit
To that building which once rose
I felt at home, comforted
I looked back became held
As though I had never moved
The entrance still behind me
In spite of all the rooms and halls
Which I had walked
In spite of every step I counted
Numberless, countless, endless
I remained unmoved
Yet moved still moved
My eyes closed I felt myself pulled
Away from that old building
The rooms and walls
The cracks and the climbing ivy
That whistling wind
The music and colour
I awoke and thought
Had I walked a dream
Built upon my heart, soul, mind
Had I just walked myself
No answers came
I lay awake lost in thought
