A tale i was told
Right as i was told their handwriting were'nt bold
so; our forefathers were sold
that their conscience they had sold
but to me; a fairy tale better not told
i was young
and the music seem dingdong
to me at dawn,
the story seem sown
not till i was told
it was a fairy tale better not told.
Unaware in the market; they haggle
to them, the reward a cry
and they saw no battle
but on this path, i dare not ply
To me; a fairy tale better not told.
What seem a tale
to me a dog without tail
on our fall i was
when the tale went on without a pause
to me a fairy better not told.

Lipstick On Your Collar
When you left me all alone at the record hop
Told me you were goin out for a soda pop
You were gone for quite a while -- half-an-hour more
You came back and man, oh, man, this is what I saw:
Lipstick on your collar told a tale on you
Lipstick on your collar said you were untrue
Bet your bottom dollar you and I are through
cause lipstick on your collar told a tale on you! yeah!
You said it belonged to me, made me stop and think
And then I noticed yours was red; mine was baby pink
Who walked in but mary jane, lipstick all a mess?
Were you smoochin my best friend? guess the answers yes
Lipstick on your collar told a tale on you
Lipstick on your collar said you were untrue
Bet your bottom dollar you and I are through
cause lipstick on your collar told a tale on you! boy!
Told a tale on you! man!
Told a tale on you! yeah! (fade)

You Wouldnt Know
Come a bit close to me , let me be kissed
Come on and give to me what I have missed
I love you women . I know that Ill get you somehow
You wouldnt know if I hadnt told you so
You wouldnt know if I hadnt told you so , oh
Well, Im telling you now
Morning and nighttime too , Im so alone
Your love and my love ,girl, we shall be one
Im gonna get you or else there will be a big row
You wouldnt know if I hadnt told you so
You wouldnt know if I hadnt told you so , oh
Well , Im telling you now
I go to sleep at night , Im telling you now
My heart is asking me why , Im telling you now
You wouldnt know if I hadnt told you so
You wouldnt know if I hadnt told you so , oh
Well , Im telling you now
Come a bit close to me , let me be kissed
Come on and show to me what I have missed
I love you women ,i know that Ill get you somehow
You wouldnt know if I hadnt told you so
You wouldnt know if I hadnt told you so , oh
Well Im telling you now
Im telling you now ( repeat, ad lib, and fade )

Fish Tale
Everytime he told the tale,
The fish would grow some more.
He would repeat it without fail,
Till he got to be a boor.
It started as a Blue gill,
At the end it was a whale.
No he could never get his fill,
Of telling his fish tale.

FootPrints In The Sand
footprints in the sand
heading that way as it
leads away it leaves a
tale.
a tale of pain a tale of sorrow
a tale of hurt a tale to be told
whispir in my ear a tale of a
new generation
a generation of determination
where love is an everyday thing
and not as rare as a blue moon
so foot prints in the sand
your tale was heard as it hit
the nation pure like solid gold
so though your mist wash away
your tale live on till today

Have I Told You Lately That I Love You?
(words & music by scott wiseman)
Have I told you lately that I love you?
Could I tell you once again somehow?
Have I told with all my heart and soul how I adore you?
Well darling Im telling you now
Have I told you lately when Im sleeping
Every dream I dream is you somehow?
Have I told you why the nights are long
When youre not with me?
Well darling Im telling you now
My heart would break in two if I should lose you
Im no good without you anyhow
And have I told you lately that I love you
Well darling Im telling you now
My heart would break in two if I should lose you
Im no good without you anyhow
And have I told you lately that I love you
Well darling Im telling you now

Remaining Happy
No stories left,
Do I have an urgency...
To compare in the telling told.
About confronting and defeating,
Those impossible obstacles.
No stories left,
Do I have a need or wish to recall.
To relive to captivate,
With a leaving of others enthralled.
Or with shivers to deliver.
Whether or not others make claims I exaggerate.
I am more experienced today with a faith I did not fake.
And a taking for granted each step I make.
Is not a welcoming activity,
I greet with an anticipating to partake.
I felt a cold brick wall up against my back.
Frightening enough,
I could no longer fantasize a trapping done like that.
Especially with exits closed.
To rely only on my faith to provide an escape.
Now with remaining happy and sustaining that on my mind,
No stories left...
Do I have an urgency to compare in the telling told.
About confronting and defeating those impossible obstacles.
Nor do I have a need to be teased to emotionally relive them.
I've unloaded and left behind,
Those winding roads I never chose to twist my mind.
Remaining happy and sustaining that,
Has come to please my every need.
No matter if that's judge as a selfish act...so be it judged!

My Pretty One
Well, I've dreamed about today.
The same dream in many ways.
But I never thought I'd be here,
Be here with you, my pretty one.
Well, I've searched the whole world through.
To find someone whoooo,
Would make this dream come true.
It's you and only you, my pretty one.
Pretty one, I long to hold you.
Through the night, I want to hold you.
Pretty one, has no one told you,
I love you.
Any day and you will find me,
Full of joy when you're beside me.
In a moment like this,
Could it be what I've missed all my life.
Well, I've dreamed about today.
The same dream in sooooo many ways.
But nothing can compare with,
Compare with you, my pretty one.
Well, I love your smile.
And I love your eyes.
And the way you talk, makes me feel so nice.
Nothing can compare with the way you are.
And I need you now, as I write this song.
Did I hear you say you're the only woman,
From a lonely prayer I am in the air.
Well, I've dreamed about today.
The same dream in sooooo many ways.
But nothing can compare with,
Compare with you my pretty one.
But I never thought I'd be here,
Be here with you my pretty one.
Pretty one, I long to hold you.
Through the night, I want to hold you.
Pretty one has no one told you,
I love you.
Any day and you will find me,
Full of joy when you're beside me.
In a moment like this,
Could it be what I've missed all my life.
Well, I've dreamed about today.
The same dream in sooooo many ways.
But nothing can compare with,
Compare with you my pretty one.
No nothing can compare with,
Compare with you my pretty one.

How can I write here when the walls have poetry?
And my soul is satisfied
When art hovers in the air and dances free?
When the heart has been explored over scones and tea?
How can I write when Keats once live down the street?
And Shakespeare rests beneath my feet?
What is there to add to the words of the greats?
With all that has been explored between love and hate
Do I lay to rest my pen?
Do I throw it to the air and in their words swim?
How can I write all that is in my heart and soul,
When my tale has been told
With far more tender grace
With far more eloquence and pace?
Please do check my grammar and spelling,
For I much to learn if I have a tale for the telling.

Someone Once Told Me
Someone once told me
What an uncle did to
his nephew
Someone once told me
What the uncles brother
did to a young girl
Someone once told me
That their mother and sister
didn't care, because
they let them near the young
and the frail
Someone once told me
The guilty always get away
Someone once told me
They'll never pay
Now I'm telling someone
It's time to pay
Because justice is coming
and it's here to stay

Misty Songs Of Yearning
This unseasonal cold
and misty Christchurch rain;
blows biting weeping yet stirs,
the tempo suiting,
separating Pakeha souls.
For we are lost lifelong friends
treading solo our last bittersweet
summer wine; drunk separately,
together, in long twilight, Aotearoa.
Weep summer skies weep
tears forecasting foretelling frozen
turmoil thundering departure.
Rain born of Aorangi
Ao cloud and Rangi sky
rain born of cloud in the sky.
Rain born of Aorangi Maori;
Pakeha Mount Cook.
The highest mountain
in this supposedly
integrated bicultural country.
Sky-piercer bear weight
of cloud upon my shoulder.
In her hazel flecked green eyes
bites nut-bearing dust speckled separation;
bites greenstone anchor jaw bone
hook of Moriori ancestry;
bites womb woven waiata aroha;
bites dominant children love of mother;
bites submissive traditional duty bound
love; of unrequited honoured totara husband.
Moriori full blood extinction, gone like Hamata,
Moriori claim mythical race descended from Gods.
Hamata, ghost lawgivers keepers of knowledge.
Bites dramatic soliloquy face saving card
speaking of “so many emotions bubbling
at the surface of... [her stewed volcanic geyser] soul! ”
Telling the tale
she has “no answers.”
Telling the tale she knows
“you love... her completely...”
Telling tragic returning tale
that she loves you too.
Telling traditional mother love for children
telling that she is “responsible for them”
telling that she is “getting in [too] deep”;
among weeping West Coast river’s; heavy greenstone boulders.
Once she told of
“Your face, your smell, your voice,
your touch & making love with
you, never enough! ”
Once she told of
“Your poetry where... [she] found
your unique & special soul.”
Many times she told
in many varied ways her parting lines.
“I will always love you, but
cannot be with you.”
Aotearoa (pronounced [aoˌ teaˈ roa]) is the most widely known and accepted Mā ori name for New Zealand.

Living in a Fairy Tale
Living in a fairy
tale....
Oh, how I wish my
life could be like that.
How I want a
ending like happily
ever after...
Living in a castle with
my prince...
Having a magic
mirror...
That talks to you.
Seeing ogres in the
swamp....it is not
a pretty sight.
But oh well....
Oh...how I wish
I was living in a
fairy tale.
There would be no
rules...no parents
telling you what to
do...
Doing whatever you
want...
And life would be
LOVELY!
How I wish I was
living in a fairy tale!

If I told you
Telling grey clouds
Telling silent birds
Telling tall trees
These things
That have lain waste
This winter soil
That binds its roots around the dead
Telling all who will listen
Who will hear
That it loved once, lived here
Underneath the shape of things
Felt breathed love.
If I had told you
Only you,
Would you still be here?
Still, in love?

Ab initio
I have done misdeed
That I am looking in you
I have told something wrong
That I am hearing from you
What I am telling you
Actually I am
telling to myself
I am looking for myself
In you
You are I
You agree
Or disagree.

Telling Tales To Tattle
Tales tattled and told to sell or barter,
Are not the ones recommended to be eager to keep.
Not if the telling of them make the innocent weep.
Since resentments kept can grow deep.
And the price one pays for telling tales to tattle,
Has a way to come back to rattle one's peace...
In a way that the teller had wished never altered,
To utter as told to sell to be sold.

Fairy Tale High
On a fairy tale high
Don't you believe that your dreams all come true
The fairy tale world inside can bring it to you
You just have to wish, and you'll take off and fly
On a fairy tale high, fairy tale high
Fairy tale high, fairy tale high
On a fairy tale high
Just look around you, the dark clouds are far
Stand on your tiptoes, and reach for a star
As stardust comes sprinkling, it will brighten your eyes
On a fairy tale high, fairy tale high
Fairy tale high, fairy tale high
Fairy tale high, fairy tale high, fairy tale high
On a fairy tale high, feeling higher and higher
On a fairy tale high, feeling higher and higher
On a fairy tale high, feeling higher and higher
On a fairy tale high, feeling higher and higher
On a fairy tale high, feeling higher and higher

Now It Can Be Told
All the worlds great lovers have been glorified
History placed them in a romantic set
In between book covers they are side by side
But the real thing hasnt been written yet
Now it can be told
Told in all its glory
Now that we have met
The world may know the sentimental story
The greatest romance they ever knew
Is waiting to
Unfold
Now it can be told
As an inspiration
Every other tale
Of boy meets girl is just an imitation
The great love story
Has never been told before
But now
Now it can be told

Not Just Climbing For Me
We all have to climb the mountain of life
The road can get tough and I knew that though
For reasons unknown to everyone around me
I climbed for me not telling anyone else why
But then I told one man my dreams and from there on out he was always there Cheering me on
Even when the road got tuff and my hands were bleeding
He was there by my side telling me it was going to be alright
Then he died and it seemed all was lost
But then I climbed harder
And it hit me
That I was not just climbing for me but climbing for him and all that he stood for remembering what he told
Me to do when road got cold and unforgiving
And still to this day I climb for us, me and him
And everything we stand for remembering what he climbed for
He climbed for me and God and all of his family
And that's what he told me
And that's why I climb for us remembering him and all the love
He showed me

Come On Home
(ransford)
Im telling you
Im telling you
Im telling you to come on home
Ive been told many times about you
About your lies that youve never been true
Now I found out
You left here on your own
Now I found out
But chorus
In the future darling be true
How many times has this happened to you but chorus
Cmon baby now
