On The Cork Hurlers Strike
The best hurlers will not be playing for the Rebel County this year
At least not under coach Gerald McCarthy for Cork fans such sad news to hear
The Liam McCarthy Cup this year won't be coming to the hurling City by the Lee
Without Cork's best hurling only half dressed as hurling fans all would agree
Cork hurling fans not very happy to them hurling more than a game
Some blame the hurlers and others blame Gerald and others the County Board blame
Gerald has no notion of resigning and Cork's best under him will not play
And the loser is the game of hurling and that does seem a sad thing to say
Cork will have a hurling team in the League and All Ireland Championship but their best the red jersey will not wear
And for any hope of sporting success as we do know a team would need every top player
And in 2009 Cork will only make up the numbers though the game of hurling will go on
For hurling does live on in Ireland though great players to and from the game have come and gone
In 2009 Cork will not have their best team at least now it's looking that way
In a sad time for Cork and for hurling in Ireland and that seems a sad thing to say.

Daytime Dilemma
She came from a happy home
A very happy home a very happy home
Miss personality, a grade 'a' student naturally
She had it all worked out but things aren't what
They seem is this real or just a dream?
And things will never ever be the same again
She came from a happy home
A very happy home a home of happiness
Miss personality, a grade 'a' student naturally
She had it all in place but things aren't what
They seem is this real or just a dream?
Things will never ever be the same again
The dangers, it's the dangers of love
The dangers, it's the dangers
She came from a happy home
A vey happy home a vert happy scene
She caught him with another it turns out it
Was her mother what a tragedy can things be
What they seem is this just some crazy dream
Things may never ever be the same again
The dangers, it's dangers of love
The dangers, it's the dangers
Keep telling li-ie-ies, but you dis you know you did
It's coming,. it's coming,. it's coming
The dangers, it's the dangers of love
The dangers, it's the dangers
What went wrong she couldn't tell but we know
It all too well
The dangers, it's the dangers of love
The dangers, it's the dangers

I Walked Last Night In A District I Lived In For Almost Twenty Years
I WALKED LAST NIGHT IN A DISTRICT I LIVED IN FOR ALMOST TWENTY YEARS
I walked last night in a district I lived in for almost twenty years
I came back after being away for a time
To visit an old and ailing friend
The streets were empty and lonely as they often were then-
I thought for the first time I understood how lonely the district itself is-
‘A lonely district’
I wondered how I managed to live there all those years
And how anyone still manages to live there-
I looked up at the sky and wrote in my mind a small poem of a kind I wrote many of in my years there
I remembered teachers and friends who had lived there
No longer of this district or any district on earth
I wondered how life goes and how from so many years so much life has been lived without having any place in my memory
I felt as empty inside as the district without
I did not have to wait long for the bus
And relieved inside it I put my heart to home
So many years had been lived there
I remembered taking my small children to the playground there
Now they thank G-d have children of their own
Oh the years go by and the life we have lived in them largely dies
Forever to be unknown again-
I put my heart and mind in a different direction
And began to do what I always do – not think of the district again
Life is this mystery and question we live through and never wholly possess even as we are experiencing it
How long before all will be gone for me
Including the district I live in now?

The Right Combination
Two people, together
It was just a dream until you came along
My heart was waiting just for you
Tomorrow, forever
We both heard these promises for far too long
And now you make the words come true
So touch me now
I need to have you close tonight
And show me how
You can me feel this way
# you and me, we are the right combination
For love, were all we need
Its just you and me, we make the right combination
Straight from the heart, love is the key
Cant keep it, a secret
Everything I feel is written on my face
I cant hide my heart from you
You hold me, is magic
In your arms the world becomes a better place
Now I know what love can do
Here we go
Exactly where the road will lead us
I dont know
I just know that youll be there
# you and me, we are the right combination
For love, were all we need
Its just you and me, we make the right combination
Straight from the heart, love is the key
And whenever you, Im there
Every stumble and fall, I share
Ill be yours through it all
Coz I care, about you baby
Its so easy to see, so strong
Now I know you and me, belong
Ill be by your side forever....
# you and me, we are the right combination
For love, were all we need
Its just you and me, we make the right combination
Straight from the heart, love is the key

Somebody Remembers The Rose
Somebody remembers the rose
While the other forgets how it grows
Would all the dangers
Would all the dangers of love
Lost to a stranger
Somebody remembers the dress
How it was hand sewn
Beautifully pressed
Would all the dangers
Would all the dangers of love
Lost to a stranger
Honey Im out of service
For a while
Damaged hearts been manufactured
And everyday this one never works anyway
Somebody remembers the rose
While the other forgets how it grows
Would all the dangers
Would all the dangers of love
Lost to a stranger
Honey I know you
Baby I know you
Yeah I know you

In a zany combination of waynes pet youngin
Astral plane conversing lame
In a zany combination of waynes pet youngin
A stained pane drownin out the rain
In a zany combination of waynes pet youngin
You name the game and Ill bring dwayne
And roger and rerun to waynes pet youngin
Reruns brain - confetti stain
In a zany combination of waynes pet youngin
Whats your name? are you glad you came?
But would you die in the name of waynes pet youngin?
Yes I would! aaaahhhh!

A Man From The Slum District
ı a m a man from a slum district
my pockets are empty and moneyı ess
in obligation
ı am a member of a fake syndicate
in the factory ı work as a laborer
ı f open my mouth
and talk against my bosses
ı will be booted and fired
find myself in the streets
ı am a man nfrom a slum district
my struggle with others is obligatary
to survive
ı drink wine which kills a dog
ı am screaming all night in the streets
against alll these
with the night watches guarding me
ı am a man from a slum district
my badly cladding is also obligatory
in beyoglu
policemen strolling..watching and batoning me
sometimes to death
ı am a man from a slum district
ı f ı touch others' wind they lick me and bruise me
my love affairs are unjust and obligatory too
fathers are on watch in front of their houses
if ı look at a girl or even gaze at their daughters
it will be the cause of the many murders

Sinking
You're on a wide open ocean
No one around you for miles
You're thinkin' of drinkin' on water
While you're sailing the Nile
No one to stop you on your way
Flyin' by goes a stork
You decide to bring your oars in now
But accidently knock out the cork
Row your boat to shore
'Cause it is leaking and you're still drinking
Unless you cork the hole
You won't be sailing

Forty Lashes
Are they readers?
So i am;
Are they writers?
So i am;
Are they teachers?
So i am;
Are they learners?
So i am;
Are they thinkers?
So i am;
Are they the seed of Abraham?
So i am;
And with forty lashes minus one to learn from my mistakes,
But the dangers of the rivers are still around us.
In weariness and in toil i try to focus on my muse,
And like the dangers at sea!
In cold and in nakedness i try to reach out to my dreams,
And like the dangers of the people around me;
In hunger and in thirst i try to do my best,
And like the dangers of the rivers around me;
Often with sleepless nights and without hope at times,
But i do have my dream at hand.
I was let down in the basket to gain my freedom,
And Hagar is to Mount Sinai as Noah's Ark is to Mount Ararat!
But more are the children of the desolate than,
The children of she who has a husband! !

Edgecrusher
Conceived in a hell beyond your depth of perception
Chaotic case of conquering domination
Psychopath snaps fired chains of imprisonment
A bludgeoning force thats undermining the government
Inflict strain upon the structure
Collapsing below my pressure
Inflict strain upon the structure
Collapsing below my pressure
Break of the edgecrusher...
The purist, non-conformist, jaded subhuman terrorist
From flesh to steel and blood to blade I fight to exist
A rival of justice, extreme rush of hatred
Survival in a twisted world where nothing is sacred
Inflict strain upon the structure
Collapsing below my pressure
Inflict strain upon the structure
Collapsing below my pressure
Break of the edgecrusher...

The Independent Man
Now who could take you off to tiny life
In one room or in two rooms or in three
And cork you smartly, like the flask of wine
You are? Not any woman. Not a wife.
You'd let her twirl you, give her a good glee
Showing your leaping ruby to a friend.
Though twirling would be meek. Since not a cork
Could you allow, for being made so free.
A woman would be wise to think it well
If once a week you only rang the bell.
