Phrenology taught us that the mind thinks by means of the brain, is liable to become fatigued by too long attention, as the locomotive muscles are by too much walking; and I therefore proposed to them to take a brief rest.

Monkey And The Engineer
Once upon a time there was an engineer.
Drove a locomotive both far and near.
Accompanied by a monkey that would sit on a stool
Watching everything the engineer would do
One day the engineer wanted a bite to eat,
He left the monkey sitting on the driver's seat,
The monkey pulled the throttle, the locomotive jumped the gun
And did 80 miles an hour down the mainline run.
Big locomotive right on time, big locomotive coming down the line.
Big locomotive No. 99, left the engineer with a worried mind.
The engineer called up the dispatcher on the phone,
To tell him all about his locomotive was gone.
Dispatcher got on the wire, switch operator to the right,
Cause the monkey's got the main line sewed up tight.
The switch operator got the message on time,
Said there's a Northbound livin' on the same main line,
Open up the switch I'm gonna let him through the hole,
Cause the monkey's got the locomotive under control.
Big locomotive right on time, big locomotive coming down the line.
Big locomotive No. 99, left the engineer with a worried mind

Anything Is Possible
Anything is possible
If you put your mind to it
Anything is possible
Just put your mind to it
Anything is possible
If you put your mind to it
Anything....
Is possible
Verse 1:
Thought I couldnt slow him down
Long enough to look my way
Thought he was out of my league
Wouldnt give me time of day
Thought he was like all the rest
Love her, leave her, no remorse
But I guess that I misjudged
And this thing just ran its course
He taught me
Chorus:
Anything is possible
If you put your mind to it
Anything is possible...
Just put your mind to it
Anything is possible
If you put your mind to it
Anything is possible
Break it down now.....
No matter what it is, its possible
Say, anything is possible
(anything...) no matter what it is, its possible
Say, anything is possible
(anything...) no matter what it is, its possible
Say, anything is possible
(anything...) no matter what it is, its possible
Say, anything is possible
Verse 2:
Much to my surprise I felt
A warm, not cold vibe
When he looked in my eyes
(oh yeah, its possible)
His bad boy front not charm
Was his disguise
Oh whoa whoa
(let me tell ya)
He read so much into me
Listened so attentively
He liked me, I rest my case
Wasnt just a pretty face
Bridge:
If you set your mind
You can do anything you want
Not every guy is a bad guy
Dont stereotype
cause this guy, he proved me wrong
(anything is possible...)
He taught me:
Anything is possible
Just put your mind to it
If you put your mind
You know you can do anything,
Anything
Anything is possible
Anything is possible
Anything is possible
Just put your mind to it
Anything is possible
If you put your mind to it

Learning in the true sense of the word is possible only in that state of attention, in which there is no outer or inner compulsion. Right thinking can come about only when the mind is not enslaved by tradition and memory. It is attention that allows silence to come upon the mind, which is the opening of the door to creation. That is why attention is of the highest importance. Knowledge is necessary at the functional level as a means of cultivating the mind, and not as an end in itself. We are concerned, not with the development of just one capacity, such as that of a mathematician, or a scientist, or a musician, but with the total development of the student as a human being.

To live young
Tone the muscles;
Strain the glands;
Inflate the lungs;
Give rest to the brain.
Your physique is kept.
Eat fruits and leaves
And only boiled cereals;
Take plenty of water;
Fast once in a while.
Your health is kept.
Keep away from sun;
Wash and bathe often;
Groom your look;
Pride on your figure.
Your vision is in shape.
Recall the rose of others;
Forget the thorn of others;
Show gratitude;
Earn one’s goodwill.
Your mind is at rest.
Know the averment;
Listen to the environment;
Seek answers to whys;
Ponder over your thoughts.
Your intellect is alert.
Study the romance;
Enjoy the music;
Contact with heart;
love the opposite sex.
Your passion is up.
Then you live young for long.

He Proposed
Verse i
It was valentines day february the 14th
My baby took me to a special place
Said he had a surprise for me
He told me to close my eyes
So that I could not see and when I opened them up
He was on one knee reachin for my hand (thats when)
Chorus
He proposed to me- he proposed with a diamond ring
I started crying- he placed it on my finger and I said
Yes- he proposed to me- he proposed with a diamond
Ring I couldnt believe it I looked in his eyes and i
Said yes.
Verse ii
Ill never forget that night- it was 8:43 pm to be
Precise
He looked into my eyes and said-youve made me the
Happiest man alive. soon as I got home I called my
Mother on the phone- said you wont believe what just
Happened to me
Bridge
We will be together-this I know
We will love forever my heart told me so
If you promise to hold me tight and never let me go
Well be husband and wife
For the rest of our lives

See The Sky About To Rain
See the sky about to rain, broken clouds and rain.
Locomotive, pull the train, whistle blowing through my brain.
Signals curling on an open plain, rolling down the track again.
See the sky about to rain.
Some are bound for happiness, some are bound to glory
Some are bound to live with less, who can tell your story?
See the sky about to rain, broken clouds and rain.
Locomotive, pull the train, whistle blowin through my brain.
Signals curlin on an open plain, rollin down the track again.
See the sky about to rain.
I was down in dixie land, played a silver fiddle
Played it loud and then the man broke it down the middle.
See the sky about to rain.

Pooh Bear and Hindu Philosophy
It was a fine early Spring morning, and in the Forest the Animals were busy Being Themselves, and doing all the things that Being Oneself involves.
Pooh had had a Being Myself morning, sorting out the hunny jars and wondering if two half-full jars were really quite the same as one full jar, or really quite different; and why a half-full jar looked quite different from a half-empty jar..
But now this afternoon the Boy and his Bear are walking down the path towards the Poohsticks bridge, and the path is feeling Springy too, with its dry leaves and twigs and beech mast like the bouncy mattress in CR’s nursery, as if they were saying ‘yes, we are here too! ’
‘CR..’ said Pooh, holding CR’s hand rather tight as he did when a Big Thought was hovering like a bee who hasn’t quite make its mind up whether to land here or move on somewhere else, ‘what’s Ah-Dwy-Ter? ’
‘Well Pooh..’ said CR slowly, wanting to answer but not wanting to confuse a Bear of Very Little Brain who was also Beloved Bear…
‘There’s Dwy-ter and Ah-dwy-ter… Dwy-ter means sort of Two to Indians, and Ah-dwy-ter means Not Two…’
There was a long pause, while Spring went on springing, and the bee in Pooh’s brain did another circle because it sensed that there was more hunny somewhere in this flowerbed than had yet called attention to itself.
‘So it’s like, when it’s a stormy day and we shan’t see each other, and I feel saddish and Not One… and then at lunchtime the clouds clear and you come along and I’m happy to see you…and I feel that you and I are really Not Two when we’re together…? ’
‘Something like that, Pooh’ said CR. ‘Because, if someone were coming up this path towards us right now, they might say ‘Oh look, there’s the two of them…’ But we should know it’s not really like that…’
And a warm happy feeling spread from Pooh’s feet walking on the bouncy Spring path, up to the tip of his nose and the edges of his ears that CR liked to stroke when he ran out of words.
Now Pooh knew another Very Important Word which wasn’t as big close up as it was in the distance, and knew exackly the difference between One and Not Two and how, to those who really understand these things, one and one can make a Not Two sort of One...
Pooh squeezed CR’s hand like people do who are Not Two, and CR looked down affectionately at Beloved Bear as they walked down the Springy path in the sunshine, and the sky seemed glad to have rained, but happy not to be raining now:
‘Silly old Pooh…’

In choosing a theory, one should pay attention to simplicity in hypotheses only. Simplicity in computation can be of no weight in the balance of probabilities. Nature is not embarrassed by difficulties of analysis. She avoids complication only in means. Nature seems to have proposed to do much with little: it is a principle that the development of physics constantly supports by new evidence.

Don't let the opinions of the average man sway you. Dream, and he thinks you're crazy. Succeed, and he thinks you're lucky. Acquire wealth, and he thinks you're greedy. Pay no attention. He simply doesn't understand.

Come To My Aid
(m hucknall/f mcintyre)
Come to my aid youre sweet as everything
Come to my aid Id give you anything
I feel so betrayed by the people I love
Come to my aid its you Im thinking of
Prouder than wild
Sad enough to sing
Come to my aid and care for social living
Why are we liable to die for survival?
Why is our nation divided?
Come to my aid..
In the poverty stakes see just what it means
When welfare decimates youd better care
About your fellow people
Why are we liable to die for survival?
Why is our nation divided?
Come to my aid...
Come on board

While one man can discover a certain thing by himself, another is never able to understand it, even if taught by means of all possible expressions and metaphors, and during a long period; his mind can in no way grasp it, his capacity is insufficient for it.

Identity Theft
Pay attention to the news!
Coups are happening overseas
Soldiers lurk in the bushes here
In crevices of soil and trees
Bugs are slowly hauling off
All your easy liberties
Assured and so familiar
You scarce remember what they were
But you will miss them if they're gone
And your children will thank you none
When drunken agents of the law
Plunge their hatchets through the door
It's hard, I know, to be one's best
Living now and living here
Numbed, fatigued and short of rest
Distraught by loneliness and fear
But run the data through a sieve
And check with an alternative
Play close attention to your dreams
Carry no cash for others' schemes
Lest they steal your name and shoes
And trade your wages for their wars
While, dazed by entertainment shows
You let slip all that once was your's.

Before My Head explodes
I go walking to the sun
Whenever I go wrong
Been going on too long
Please I know repeat it after me I know
This stuff that makes me see I know
You're better off than me I know
I'll go walking to the sun
It shouldn't be too long
Before my head explodes
I'll be traveling again
I'll live to see the end of this
All right

Thinking about oneself
man A thinks about nothing
but his own race all day long
man B thinks about nothing
but his own business and his
troubled race all day long
man C wedged between them
also takes plenty of time to think
about his own race and how to
catch up with the rest of the world
when friends from afar come
visiting they try hard to put on
a smile to show how united they are
though the fire they keep within them
is smouldering and fast spreading
soon all realise they have left their
own beloved country to rot while
they think about nothing but
themselves all day long

That Girl
That girl thinks that shes so fine
That soon shell have my mind
That girl thinks that shes so smart
That soon shell have my heart
She thinks in no time flat
That shell be free and clear to start
With her emotional rescue of love that youll leave turn apart
That girl thinks that shes so bad
Shell change my tears from joy to sad
She says she keeps the upper hand
cause she can please her man
She doesnt use her love to make him weak
She uses love to keep him strong
And inside me theres no room for doubt
That it wont be too long
Before I tell her that I love her
That I want her
That my mind, soul and body needs her
Tell her that Id love to, that I want to
That I need to do all that I have to
To be in her love
Ive been hurting for a long time
And youve been playing for a long time
You know its true
Ive been holding for a long time
And youve been running for a long time
Its time to do what we have to do
That girl, that girl
That girl knows every single man
Would ask her for her hand
But she says her love is much too deep
For them to understand
She says her love has been crying out
But her lover hasnt heard
But what she doesnt realize is that Ive listened to every word
Thats why I know Ill tell that I love her
That I want her
That my mind, soul and body needs her
Tell her that Id love to, that I want to
That I need to do all that I have to
To be in her love
Tell her I love her
That I want her
That my mind and soul and body needs her
Tell her that Id love to, that I want to
That I need to do all that I have to
To be in her love
That I love her
That I want her
That my mind and soul and body needs her
Tell her that Id love to, that I want to
That I need to do all that I have to...
Tell her that I love her
That I want her
That my mind and soul and body needs her
Tell her that Id love to, that I want to
That I need to do all that I have to
To be in her...
That girl, that girl, that girl,
Oh, that girl, that girl, that girl, that girl...

5th Avenue
Written by gerry beckley, 1984
Found on perspective.
Walking down 5th avenue
I saw him walking there with you
People see and people talk
Word travels fast round my block
Might just save you the price of writing
I could save you an hour or two
Walking down 5th avenue
Walking down 5th avenue
Dont know what to ask of you
My mind is gettin so confused
Even when I really try
Keeps sounding like Im saying goodbye
Somewhere deep in my heart Im hurtin
cause I keep on remembering you
Walking down 5th avenue
Walking down 5th avenue
Such a long way to go
How many times must I look up and say
What kind of fool am i
But I cant turn my back on the times that we shared
No matter how I try
Walking down 5th avenue
Cant seem to shake the thought of you
Even in the dark of night
Your memories of shining light
Though Im tryin to change direction
I pray what I saw aint true
Walking down 5th avenue
Walking down 5th avenue
Such a long way to go
Do, do, do, do ...
