All men will commence in their present rank and promotion will be open to all men alike, without any distinctions or qualifications, political or otherwise.

Qualifications
Qualifications give me a license
To treat that I know more than what I know
And give others a notion about me
That I know more than I truly know.
Qualifications misguide in two ways:
A confidence booster to the holders;
A hall-mark to the estimators.
Qualifications are sold for a price.

The class distinctions proper to a democratic society are not those of rank or money, still less, as is apt to happen when these are abandoned, of race, but of age.

No Qualifications
Now he wanted to fly all those big aeroplanes
Trans-continental and back home again
But his brain, it was grounded
His head could not cope
No qualifications, no reasons for hope
They told him the right way to fasten his tie
Beat him for laughing and never said why
They left his for dead when the results came through
And still never asked what he wanted to do
No qualifications so late in the day
Weve screwed you up, well, now you make your own way
Now to label your trousers and label your shoes
If you dont wear nothing then label that too
No qualifications, you are the time born
If you wanna succeed you better get some qualifications
So late in the day
Weve screwed you up, well, now you make your own way

Two Alike
Two Alike
Two Entities
Pulsating alike—
Two hearts
Beating alike—
Two minds
Throbbing alike—
Two souls
Singing alike!
Has anyone seen
Such a like
In this world
Where nothing is alike?

Understand that legal and illegal are political, and often arbitrary, categorizations; use and abuse are medical, or clinical, distinctions.

Snap, Crackle and Pop
I believe we have encountered,
A bit of misunderstanding.
Although I would love to participate,
With the same enthusiasm as you have shown...
In the promotion of your efforts.
However...
I will not go through your process,
Of being interrogated as to my qualifications.
And whether or not...
I have acquired those abilities!
Especially...
When you've come within,
The territory of my familiarized boundaries.
Unsolicited.
With desires you wish to seek performed.
Are you a survivor of some mental storm?
I believe one of us is confused,
As to who should be seeking the acceptance!
And I will give you a clue...
That person is you!
I recommend you snap, crackle and pop yourself,
Back into 'this' reality!
You are the visitor.
And where we stand on this land,
Is mine!

When a judge assumes the power to decide which distinctions made in a statute are legitimate and which are not, he assumes the power to disapprove of any and all legislation, because all legislation makes distinctions.

today as a present from God to me
today
is God's present to me
a cue
from Habib
a present too
he accepts
from God today
we open the present
today
and we see the sun
and a garden
of flowers
and the wind
and the
sea and the mountain
inside it
we marvel
and then the clock strikes
the bio-rhythm
of hunger in our guts
it is breakfast time
and there is
still nothing
to eat on the table
today is just a present
and we still
have a lot of work to do

Rock of Security
The only security in this world, is the Rock of Jesus Christ,
The only Truth, men must herald, in an age filled with strife,
As present trouble is unfurled, in darkness, at times so rife,
Christ is the hope of our world, a Light needed in every life.
Whatever the world's instability, God's the only explanation,
It is God that people must see, in Christ and His Revelation,
Only God in this land of the free, deserves man's exaltation,
All those in a fallen society, desperately need His Salvation!
Today as many think of survival, in a land that trusts in God,
We must talk of spiritual revival, all across this land we trod,
As men face this present trial, we will fall with a political nod.
If we continue the present denial, we'll only see Christ's Rod!
Righteousness is what we need, this, through the Lord Jesus,
For if His Truth we do not heed, judgment will fall on all of us,
We can't follow the political lead, as they deny righteousness,
Righteousness all must concede, isn't a part of political bliss!
Leaders all across this land, are in urgent need of God's Truth,
This so they'll understand, as a nation we face God's reproof,
In His Word, God makes a stand; read His Word to see proof,
To receive blessing, by His hand, we must return to His Truth!
Children of Our Age
We are children of our age,
it's a political age.
All day long, all through the night,
all affairs--yours, ours, theirs--
are political affairs.
Whether you like it or not,
your genes have a political past,
your skin, a political cast,
your eyes, a political slant.
Whatever you say reverberates,
whatever you don't say speaks for itself.
So either way you're talking politics.
Even when you take to the woods,
you're taking political steps
on political grounds.
Apolitical poems are also political,
and above us shines a moon
no longer purely lunar.
To be or not to be, that is the question.
And though it troubles the digestion
it's a question, as always, of politics.
To acquire a political meaning
you don't even have to be human.
Raw material will do,
or protein feed, or crude oil,
or a conference table whose shape
was quarreled over for months;
Should we arbitrate life and death
at a round table or a square one?
Meanwhile, people perished,
animals died,
houses burned,
and the fields ran wild
just as in times immemorial
and less political.

Flower
I am
Given a present
When your husband departs
Or Wives come home
You give me to your lover
When you are in love
I am at birth
I am at death
I am at promotion
I am in all functions
I am in all occasions
I am everywhere in happiness or sorrow
But you throw me when I lose my glow
Nevertheless, I shall always smile
And for you I shall grow

To Fly
Howling may cease, their howls mean sense
To the doctoring few who have some to commence.
The shout has an animal on the brain,
More than the worth of an aeroplane.
It will fly and commence flight,
Much like a hesitation of the sight.
We interrogate the pilot for his intelligence,
Again, the man who flies thinks of distance.
The engines are like the fire of crying,
They have wept, the pilots, in the time of beautifying.

Scattered
I've got some scattered pictures lying on my bedroom floor.
Reminds me of the times we shared.
Makes me wish that you were here.
Now it seems I've forgotten my purpose in this life.
All the songs have been erased.
Guess I've learned from my mistakes.
Open the past and present.
Now and we are there.
Story to tell and I am listening.
Open the past and present and the futute too.
It's all I've got and I'm giving it up to you.
Loose ends tied in knots.
Leaving a lump down in my throat.
Gagging on a souvenir.
Lodged to fill another year.
Drag it on and on until my skin is riped to shreds.
Leaving my self wide open
