I've known those pieces ever since I was about 16 or 17; I also at that time was taken to meet Charles Ives whom I got to know fairly well. He was the one who wrote a recommendation for me to get into college.

All She Wrote
Something's wrong with your mind
It won't think of me anymore
Was it all a waste of time
Tell me why was I such a chore
Broken glass lies empty
Cut my voice so I can't say
Today was that day
It was that time
And that was all that she wrote for me
You fell away
I don't know why
And that was all that she wrote for me
Lying here in your bed
The one that you liked to do it in
Pieces of long brown hair
Are all over it and still in my brain
I can't explain
What it's like not knowing if I'll ever cross your mind
Today was that day
It was that time
And that was all that she wrote for me
You fell away
I don't know why
And that was all that she wrote for me
Sleep through the day
Fight with the night
Seven a.m. and the tv is white
Covered in snow
I never knew that hell could get so cold
Today was that day
It was that time
And that was all that she wrote for me
You fell away
I don't know why
And that was all that she wrote for me
Today was that day
It was that time
And that was all that she wrote for me
You fell away
I don't know why
And that was all that she wrote for me
Something's wrong with your mind
It won't think of me anymore
Was it all a waste of time

But maybe music was not intended to satisfy the curious definiteness of man. Maybe it is better to hope that music may always be transcendental language in the most extravagant sense.

No More
I wrote my name on the seashore
The waves came and it was no more
I wrote my name in the air
The wind came and it was no more
I wrote my name in the sky
The clouds came and it was no more
I wrote my name in the puddles
The sun came and it was no more
i wrote my name in the dust
The rain came and it was no more
One day Gabriel wrote my name
and alas! i was no more

Yeah, I did some small parts in high school and the first year of college and then fairly soon thereafter I settled into the backstage scenery, and then at the University of Maryland I was doing posters for their productions.

Debateable Point
I did something
I said I would never do.
I looked back at the first pieces
of writing that I ever wrote.
They were supposed to be
lyrics for songs.
As I read through them
I wondered what I was thinking of then.
They were so terrible,
but they were the first things
I ever wrote.
I was pretty naïve then
and had a lot to learn.
Whether or not I have learnt anything
is a debateable point.

Until We Meet Again
(denise rich/gen rubin)
Who would have ever thought
The day could ever come
When we would see
A love like this fall into pieces
And it hurts me to know that now til then
Ill only have these memories
And now theres no time left to pretend
And it feels like its the end
But youre always in my heart
Until we meet again
Now I have to let you go
Theres no way we can be friends
But youre always part of me
Until we meet again
Why while our love was strong
We still couldnt make it
Did time have to take our live in different directions
And it hurts cause theres no way for me to reach you
Were so far apart
When did we grow so far apart
And now theres no time left to pretend
And it feels like its the end
But youre always in my heart
Until we meet again
Now I have to let you go
Theres no way we can be friends
But youre always part of me
Until we meet again
Deep in my heart I know
Ill see you again well I dont know
Where or when.. but till then
And now theres no time left to pretend
And it feels like its the end
But youre always in my heart
Until we meet again
Now I have to let you go
Theres no way we can be friends
But youre always part of me
Until we meet again
And now theres no time left to pretend
And it feels like its the end
But youre always in my heart
Until we meet again
Now I have to let you go
Theres no way we can be friends
But youre always part of me
Until we meet again
And now theres no time left to pretend
And it feels like its the end
But youre always in my heart
Until we meet again
