Players should know that if you can't make the contribution of the winning shot, that your attitude every day when you come to practice, or the positive contribution you make through cheering and keeping up team morale, is just as important in the overall picture.

India has indeed a great and free future before her, in which she can make her special contribution to the well-being of mankind. The first and indispensable part of that contribution is to work with the United Nations for the defeat of fascism and of brutal aggression.

The men who create power make an indispensable contribution to the Nation's greatness, but the men who question power make a contribution just as indispensable, especially when that questioning is disinterested, for they determine whether we use power or power uses us.

This will help us next year with the World Cup. I can imagine a lot of visitors from abroad will be here and asking what happened between 1933 and 1945. A lot of that will come up. I think this will make an important contribution to those discussions.

Appraisals are where you get together with your team leader and agree what an outstanding member of the team you are, how much your contribution has been valued, what massive potential you have and, in recognition of all this, would you mind having your salary halved.

Attitude
You go down the pub
You wear make up
And old dads trousers
Why dont you tidy up
You talk like a docker but you act like a queer
You drink champagne then complain its too dear
You try so hard not to follow any trends
Then you cry in your beer and say youve got no friends
But is it any wonder that youve got no friends
But its not the make up
Or the way you dress
Its not your appearance, that they all detest
Its not your manners, that you gotta improve
Ooooo--its your attitude.
Chorus
Attitude, oo oo oo
Your attitude
Attitude, oo oo oo
Your attitude
Take off your head phones
Hear whats going on
You cant live in a time zone
Youve gotta move on
But before you get there
Theres one thing youve gotta do
Oh change your attitude
Its your attitude
Its your attitude
Chorus
Attitude, oo oo oo
Your attitude
Attitude, oo oo oo
Your attitude
The 80s are here, I know cuz Im staring right at them
But youre still waiting for 1960 to happen
You might have the illness, but youve got the cure
Youve got the answer, you will endure
Youre the only person thats gonna pull you through
Ooh, with your attitude
Chorus
Attitude, oo oo oo
Your attitude
Attitude, oo oo oo
Your attitude
You gotta learn to be positive, its your only chance
You mustnt be so defensive, you gotta join in the dance
But it isnt your dancing that youve gotta improve
Ooh, its your attitude.
Chorus
Attitude, oo oo oo
Your attitude
Attitude, oo oo oo
Your attitude
Its all the music
Its all in your brain
Youve used all the old licks
Now its all gotta change.
Change your attitude
Its your attitude

Recent instructions from Noel
Always make your future bigger than your past
Always make your contribution bigger than your reward
Always make your performance greater than the applause
Always make your gratitude greater than you success
On the premise:
That there is a future
That there is a contribution
That there is performance
That there is gratitude
There is no future, no contribution, no performance, no gratitude
The past shall be erased, the reward does not matter
The applause unnecessary and the success a surplusage
I do not need a reward, an applause,
And I do not need any success
Finding a soul in paper clip
Finding a frog croaking in my throat
There is simply no brain on this bond paper
Air in a vacuum
A grand future in today’s little happy faces
A red rose tattoo inside my ailing heart
The best talk in my silence as mute as
A dead ant that cannot climb
The coconut tree
Of the elephant in my palm
Or that little bird in my hand
And we were guessing
Whether it is alive or dead
The little child always laughs at everything
And we simply do not know
His logic
We forget once our childlikeness
We simply forget
The reason of the heart
It is simple
There is no future in my books
There is only today
God bless you, Noel
I always Live for today
The moment
The second
I always see my life in the fresh leaves of lettuce
My future in that in the red rose dewy in the flower vase of transparent glass
And what IS that?
Yes, eternity in the grain of sand
Today in the glowing dew.

Sonnet: On Indian Cricket
The One-Day Cricket is live telecast;
'Tis India versus another great team;
The clime is good and pitch really fast;
The Indian batsmen now face bowler's seam.
The spectators hold placards and make noise;
Most fellowmen are glued to T.V-sets;
A 'sixer' makes all country-men rejoice;
The Indian players were good at the 'nets'!
Most unpredictable team are our boys;
Their team-work's seen once in a way, by luck;
Yet, players score a century with poise;
Some famous players come home with a 'duck'.
And still, they break records so very oft;
Their cricket is an entertaining art.
Dedicated to the Indian Cricket Players

Winning the Outstanding Contribution award is great, because you know you have won in advance. Previously, I have been really nervous during the ceremony because you have no idea if you are going to get called up on stage. This time I could relax and enjoy myself.
